We were told good things, as my parents mentioned they'd been visiting since the 80s. It did not disappoint. Incredible service since the moment we entered, really impeccable from every single person that worked there. Better than the Ritz. It was a Thursday night, lovely atmosphere. Not too busy but there were two birthdays celebrated near us which was very sweet. The decor and menu was fabulous. We are pescaterian and worried there wouldn't be much for us, but we were incredibly happy with so many options. The food was wonderful. A perfect date spot but also can't wait to come back and bring friends.

I cannot think of many restaurants which can have a packed dining room on a Saturday lunchtime in May as Oslo Court with a mix of celebrations (in our case a 40th birthday), couples and friends out for lunch. Although the dining room may not be to everyone’s taste the welcome and friendly staff cannot be faulted. All the classics are on the menu and of our 3 courses the starters and deserts were very good - mains okay. The wine list jumps quite quickly though the Cote du Rhine Red is a good standby. Okay the damage £100 each + service though this included aperitifs and 3 bottles of vin rouge - 5 guests. This restaurant may never feature in the Michelin guide though what it does it does well - we look forward to going again.

The most wonderful experience and food I will never forget it and hopefully will return. The food is spectacular the service supreme. The atmosphere second to none. I am so happy I tuned in to a repeat of the hairy bikers one day just sat down put the telly on and booked straight away. We came specially from Manchester and are so happy we did. It's like going back to the best day in 1972!!

This is a first class, classic style restaurant, and we went with family and friends to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant describes itself as "with silver service, and pink tablecloths"; this refers to its traditional style. But the large and varied menu, and quality of the food, attest to its standards; it's an ideal venue for an important celebration. It's comfortable and quiet, with attentive and skilled staff. Highly recommended.

I have been many times but I noticed a big difference this time. I cannot fault the wonderful staff. My issue was with reduced portion sizes and the vegetables accompanying the meal were very sparce and there was not much choice. Several of the dishes have an add on price too which I think maybe they should do away with the £55 per head as it's not really a true reflection of what you actually pay.

We got a warm welcome, and we were placed at a table with tablecloth, fresh rose, candle etc. so they really take care of all details to make the table look great, We got bread and also a big variety of vegetables with a dip while we studied the menu. A big menu. I had the Scottish smoked salmon as a starter, and it was a generous portion. I had rack of lamb which had lots of side dishes like mint sauce, jelly etc. For dessert I had the French lemon tart which like all dishes were very beautifully presented and had lots of fresh berries like strawberry, rasberry and blueberries lying around the the tart. The service was excellent! This place has a wonderful oldfashioned elegance, and we noticed that there were lots of regular customers, and we understand why! I will insist to come back here on all my future London visits!

I'd be meaning to visit Oslo Court for a while and wasn't disappointed with the experience. I came with a friend on a Friday evening and we were greeted warmly and shown to our table. The service throughout the evening was great, the food options are classics and there is a lot of choice on the menu. Although we missed out on the legendary dessert trolley, which is a casualty of Covid appaently, we still got to order our desserts with Mr Neil. The old school charm and relaxed ambience was really enjoyable. I look forward to returning again.

This was my first visit to Oslo Court, a colleague of mine had recommended it some while ago but l hadn’t had the opportunity to get there until last Saturday. At the outset I can’t recall the last time l received such a warm welcome when arriving at a restaurant (despite being late for our booking due to issues with trains] That same welcome followed through to the restaurant where the service was faultless. The place was packed but this just created a brilliant ambience and buzz and the staff worked professionally and efficiently to look after everybody. We were also impressed with the breadth of the menu, it made choosing really difficult because there were so many dishes that appealed. Having made our choices we were also asked if we would ‘like a break between starter and main courses’ ( what a refreshing change in times where every other restaurant seems to be adopting a fast food approach to eating). The food itself was superb, beautifully prepared and presented, and topped off with a wine list which was extensive and reasonably priced. We left feeling we had enjoyed a fabulous dining experience, great hospitality backed up with excellent food and Wines, and we all agreed we would definitely be back at Oslo Court again very soon

As always very consistent. Menu that never really changes. Wonderful retro experience with salmon coloured table cloths and so forth, but lovely. My only complaint - please stop all the extra option costs on the menu if you want x then an additional 5 pounds etc. just make it one price and cover it all. That said - it will not stop us returning and loving it as we have for many years starting from my own childhood.

We came for our birthdays. We had to come early to secure a table on a Saturday evening - they were absolutely full. I had tuna tartare for starter, veal schnitzel for main and bread and butter pudding for dessert. The food was all amazing and as usual the service was great. We had champagne to start and a glass of wine with our meal. Including crudités, coffee, petit fours and service we spent about £95 per head.

My birthday treat mixed in with our 10 year anniversary. Was so excited to visit Oslo Court having lived in nearby Primrose Hill for 25 years. Raving reviews from our friends that visit regularly! On arrival all very rushed, I went to the toilet and came back to my husband holding various menus, surely let's start with drinks. We were a table of two that seems invisible, no one interacted with us. 40 mins for our mains which I must add was Devine! That gave you a plus. Wine delivered ( by a very unwelcome face) no chat/very square/ robotic, rude!!! Wine then left over by the toilets so we couldn't help ourselves, no one attempted to serve so I was tempted to help myself and nearly did every trip to the ladies. Service, PANTS! I wonder why my husband payed service charge. Overall you are a 6 out of 10, we will NOT be returning!!!

The food was fine, service really poor. We had to ask just get some menus, then again to place our orders, then yet again just to get a wine list. Staff seemed greatly overworked, and some of them were quite rude. Our party of 7 certainly wasn't made to feel welcome or valued. When we eventually got to place our order (about an hour after arriving) the food came surprisingly quickly and was fair enough, but not exceptional. The restaurant was very crowded, with tables packed in and unpleasantly noisy - due to the close proximity of so many other diners. Overall, it was quite expensive for what it was, but I suppose you should expect that for the location - about £80 per head, including drinks and 12% service charge. It was ok, nothing I would complain about, but I wouldn't go again.

We came twice during December. Both times the food was superb. The service was generally excellent but some of the newer staff show their inexperience. The only niggle was in the bills. Dined at Oslo Court as a special Christmas treat to enjoy some French cuisine in London and some sparkling silver service on pink tablecloths by the wonderful staff at the restaurant. Booked nearly 2 months in advance such is the demand to get a table on a Saturday night and it was definitely worth the wait. Everything was exquisite from start to finish. You are greeted as an old friend on arrival and your coat is taken and shown to your table , the candle is lit and the server places a napkin on your lap and old school Melba toasts and some crudités are placed on the table while you peruse the menu. The choices are amazing, something for everyone. My yellowfin tuna tartare was delicious, fresh tasting and looked very pretty with the cucumber finishes. The crab à la Rochelle was indeed puff pastry shaped like a crab and served with brandy sauce, it was outstanding. Main course of côte de veau was divine, the meat cooked perfectly and it was a good sized portion served with as much veggies as you wanted - carrots, fried zucchini, green beans , carrots, cauliflower cheese , potatoes or frites - the list goes on. The fillet mignon was served with a simple yet tasty mushroom, shallot and red wine sauce - French foodie heaven. Dessert choices numbered at least 15 ! from French crêpes Suzette to a bowl of ice cream , tarte tatin or some profiteroles , remember to save some room as my tart tatin with ice cream was heavenly. Tea and coffee is also included as well as some petit fours so you will not leave hungry, you certainly get value for your £55. Wine list was well priced and something to suit all pockets - total came to £164.64 including 12% service and a bottle of red for £37 . Some of the items have a supplement but most do not. It was a lovely evening and fellow diners were all having a great time too enjoying the old-fashioned French cuisine which is perfectly executed and served up flawlessly by the super staff . It's an evening well spent if you get the change and not to be missed.

6 of us went last night for my husband's special birthday. All I can say is wow - it never disappoints. The service is second to none, the ambience and decor is beautiful - even the toilets are luxurious. The main event though is the food. The menu is large and varied, and seems to contain all my favourites - everyone's meals were piping hot, delicious, and huge portions - I think we rolled out at the end of the night and I was still full the next day. One of the highlights is Neil the dessert waiter. He no longer has his famous trolley but it doesn't stop him tempting you with delicious dessert. On top of that he was made a large, delicious cake - which we were too full to even taste - so it was packed up for us to take home. We tasted it this afternoon - gorgeous. I nearly forgot that the meal includes a hot drink. In my case a decaf latte which was delicious and came with a heart on top. Totally faultless, and it's easy to see why they are booked up all the time. Can't wait to go back.

I have been attending here for over 40yrs, twice a year, we went last night and introduced 6 friends to our favorite restaurant. I and my friends were sat down in a cramped table with 2 jammed up against a internal concrete pillar, they gave us 1 crudités for 8 people when it should have been at least 3, then they asked for our drinks order but 2 guests were in the toilet,we said give us 5 mins they gave us 30 seconds when they did serve drinks they were passed across the table over our heads. Then they served starters and took back the bread roll of one guest who was eating it with his soap,The mains were served and they dropped chips over another guest with no sorry or nothing,i have never seen chips served here ever and then my well done steak was mooing with blood, i complained and when we got our bill i was still charged for the steak, the vegtables were thrown on our plates like we was in a school, saving grace Neil, but i was totally shocked and very disappointed with the service

Took a gamble as this was a treat for my friend's birthday. We are both glad I did! It is in an unusual setting in a St John's Wood block of apartments, which was a short taxi-ride from Marylebone Station. Lovely fabric table cloths and napkins, fresh flowers on all the tables, pretty decor, and comfortable chairs. The staff - plentiful - were very attentive. Very tasty food, a large choice on the lunch time set menu and good portions. Starters, main course, dessert and tea/coffee with petits fours - and all presented beautifully. Traditional dining with high standards, what's not to like!?

We came to Oslo Court as one of the first places to go our after the pandemic. We wanted this to be a special event for our mother, mother-in-law and grandmother to mark her 90th birthday. Her grand-daughters tried very hard prior to arrange a special event with cake etc.The food was as good as ever but slightly over-priced. The service was really, really poor. After having had a glass of champagne each the bottle was left in the wine cooler and eventually we had to help ourselves to the remainder. I asked for the wine list three times so as to have some wine with the main course, but it never arrived until the food was already on the table. When we ordered our desserts I asked again for some dessert wine, at least twice, and yet again noone turned up. The waiter gave us fish knives and forks for the main course when steak knives were what was required. These were replaced eventually when the food arrived. As for the sides with the main course there was no spinach which we did notice was provided on other tables. This should have been noticed and rectified - not good enough. At the end I had to get up and find someone to provide the bill having asked twice. We will not be going back and it has left a somewhat sour taste in the mouth. There are better places to go - unfortunate.

Sadly after 40+ years of visiting Oslo Court this will be our last. Service is no longer the slick silver service of the past, more staff being used for jobs outside their comfort zone. The barman was used at our table for desserts. A total disaster. He had no idea that a Pavo,a was made with meringue and was quite insistent that we were wrong. I called for another member of staff to assist. What was ultimately served was a single meringue with a little fruit on it…..just awful. It was changed without fuss. Sadly they really miss Neal. For £155 a couple there was little value.

It was nostalgic and pleasant. The staff have obviously been there for some time, they are really at home there, and are very hospitable and friendly.Food was really great. What a fantastic evening we had at Oslo Court. Everything just went so well. The food was great as always and the atmosphere was completely relaxed and enjoyable despite the challenging situation in the country at large. For starters, we had the Foie Gras (admittedly an indulgent choice) and the salmon and prawn salad, both of which were well presented, accompanied by a Burgundy. For mains, both the Wellington (which is always reliable!) and lamb chops were perfect complements to a Rioja. The one thing you can always rely on at Oslo Court is the service...the entire team were so good this evening despite the imminent lockdown. In summary, you can always rely on Oslo Court for a great meal.

Maravilloso restaurante. There are good reasons: 1. The food is superb and very varied,2. The service is warm, friendly and unhurried3. The ambiance is just perfectThis lunch was with an old friend during a visit to the UK. After the crudites and melba toast, I started with Duck and Chicken Liver Pate, served with warm toast and he had Lobster Bisque. For main course, my friend had Dover Sole and I had Halibut and Salmon en Croûte which was excellent. I passed on the Pernod Sauce but I should have asked for Hollandaise instead. I had been taken to this restaurant by my parents, then my now late husband and various other relatives who celebrated special events there. Never had a bad meal there. This time I was taken by my new gentleman friend for Valentines night. He'd asked me where I would like to eat and I told him about Oslo Court. We had a great evening and a great meal. This restaurant is now his favourite too.

So much food and delicious lunch at Oslo Court for my birthday. It was buzzy and busy on a Saturday lunchtime, clearly with a number of regulars. We all had fish courses which were delicious and lots of choice even before you add in the specials. It's like going back in time but in such a positive way. We really appreciate how great they are with our grandkids. Slightly not such great service as normal from our waiter as we had to ask for menus, wine to be topped up. But as ever Maria and Neil on the puddings were just fab. A wonderful 4 hours. Thank you so much for looking after us. Will be back !

The place was extremely busy, yet we were welcomed and seated promptly, and asked what we might care to drink. After the menus were presented and specials announced, orders were taken fairly promptly and it was not long before the appetiser course arrived, and they have a talent for ensuring that dishes that should be served hot are served hot.Main courses followed and then desserts. The food is excellent though the desserts sometimes look slightly tired despite the selling efforts of Neil.

I have had lunch several times at this restaurant over recent years, and invariably in the past I enjoyed it. The ambiance is a throw back to a more gracious time, and the service has always been excellent. It’s been a good place to go for a special occasion. But this time I made the mistake of going there on a Friday, which is evidently a very popular time. I am not elderly and my hearing is excellent, but even so I struggled to hear what my lunch companion was saying because of the background din with the restaurant being packed, and all the tables being very close together. And more importantly, the food was very disappointing this time. I had the fried garlic mushrooms for a starter, and they arrived swimming in lots of butter, which was off putting. The grilled salmon was a disaster - although the outside was crisp, the inside dissolved into nothingness without any texture other than gooeyness. (The Sainsburys Taste the Difference salmon which I cooked for myself the other week was infinitely better in quality and a fraction of the price.). The only saving grace was the raspberry tart, with an extra side portion of mixed berries, which I enjoyed. Perhaps the restaurant has a new chef who is inexperienced? We had to wait an unusually long time for our main course to arrive, and again for the bill to come. And I felt the staff were slightly impatient when I arrived and was taking my coat off, and again when we left. Perhaps more staff are needed on busy days like this.No doubt the restaurant would respond that they would like customers to say at the time if anything is wrong, but (probably in common with many other diners) I dislike spoiling the atmosphere of a special time with friends by complaining. I would probably go back again later in the year in the hope that this disappointing lunch was an aberration, but I would certainly avoid going on a Friday or at other particularly busy times.

Visited for the first time recently and will be the last time. Totally bizarre place, like walking back into the early 70's. Had to stand in the reception of the flats to wait for our table, which wasn't ready. Food all seems to have a grey tinge to it. I had the Beef Wellington, which was basically a bit of grey meat in soggy pastry. Mountains of stewed veg. No - not for me. Friend had the pate - also grey.... It obviously appeals to the regular clientele, but it's a no from me. So bad it was funny !

Fairly awful meal 3 nights before xmas. The turkey was dry and no bread sauce available - not sure if 43 different types of vegetable compensate. Dessert took 45 mins, still at least we got what we ordered, unlike the table next to us, where they all appeared to get the same thing, which none of them ordered.

We introduced some friends to this marvellous restaurant near St Johns Wood High Street. Its a one off, great ambiance, friendly service with the most delicious no nonsense food, well cooked and the choice of starters, main courses and the desert trolley are historic. This restaurant is a classic and is also unique being in a block of flats. It is quite formal with attentive service and a huge menu. They are best known for their fish and all of us had fish dishes. I tried the trout mouse wrapped in smoked salmon to start before trying the salmon and halibut en croute with Pernod sauce which was superb. I finished off with apple pancakes and ice cream. Portions were substantial so I just about managed. At £48 for 3 courses before service I think the value is excellent for the quality of food and service. It is a fabulous venue for a special occasion. Lunch is rather cheaper but personally I prefer the buzz of a busy evening service.

We've been visiting the Oslo Court for many years. The service has taken a dive, the staff are less attentive. I was barged out of the way by a waiter, I nearly took exception to this but did not want to cause a disturbance. Came here for dinner for my birthday. The place is salmon pink and stuck in the 1980s, and is all the better for it. You pay a set cost (£48 per person) and get to choose three courses from their huge menu. We also paid a supplement (£2.50) for beef wellington, £3.50 for a bottle of mineral water, and £7.15 for a glass of house wine. 10% service charge was added. The staff were wonderful, especially the wonderful dessert waiter, and the menu was massive and everything was delicious if you like traditional, British 80s food. I will definitely be visiting again.

I celebrated my 60th Birthday with 15 other family members last Saturday. What a wonderful performance by the staff at The Oslo Court. As always the food was of its high standard but I was slightly concerned by the obvious pressure a table of 16 would bring to an already busy Saturday lunchtime. Many restaurants would have refused my booking. But not the Oslo! Every drink, every plate, served to the right person at the right time. No drama about that many simultaneously, no pressure to be in quickly or have any perceptile delay between courses. This was an object lesson in how to run a serivce. My family, none of whom had been before, loved the lunch. I really cannot thank you enough though I will do so in person when I am next in. You should be very proud of what you do, you are the best.

The food, service ambience reached and fully satisfied our expectations. One niggle though - having been told that the crab and prawn cocktail could not be offered despite being on the menu, we were told that lobster was being offered as a substitute with no mention of there being an extra charge for the substitution, we were merely asked if this would be acceptable. We were, therefore, surprised when an extra £10 was charged. The amount of lobster involved as an upgrade was really tiny and not £10 worth so, as well as not being informed that a surcharge was attached to the starter dish, this seems worthy of mention. Somewhat naughty!

Italian flavour and very rich but good. 3 courses, wines are very expensive but the best is the desert and the waiter that is in charge. Stumbled across this place in a group of 8 friends. It was virtually empty and we we’re welcomed. Food was pretty good although I found the chicken burger a bit dry. Drinks were pricey. We spent a couple of hours here, prior to attending a gig at the hackney empire. Then we were told that they needed the table. We were still drinking at this point, (our bill was £330) and we were a bit put out that we handed been advised earlier.

The peaches in the peach salad were hard as rock (and were not caramelized as the menu stated) and the rest of the salad mediocre. The himachi was decent but very skimpy for 25 pounds. The linguine with prawns was good but the tortellini was terrible, one bite of the whitefish a bit suspect. What Italian doesn’t give free bread to soak up the extra sauce? It doesn’t even need to be good bread! Portions were all small and overpriced. Room is nice but two extraordinarily ugly photographs are difficult to look at. Waiter was very nice but what the manager did was appalling. I went to the bathroom and then came back. My friend then went to the bathroom and was followed out, accused of leaving without paying the bill. Seriously who would do that? They said they didn’t see me come back. Is this really a problem? We were quite upset. Manager apology was incredibly lame. Restaurant was mostly empty. It is in serious need of major changes.

I went to Paris Grill this evening with some work colleagues as a farewell treat for my retirement. All of the staff we're very attentive but not over the top. Their service was top notch. I chose the Steak tartare, which was prepared at the table by Didier, and it was superb. My colleagues all enjoyed their food too, including the wine from a quite extensive and reasonably priced cave. The ambience was very business like but still very pleasant. The waiting staff were extremely polite and efficient. Overall a very enjoyable experience. Price wise very reasonable. Would I recommend Paris Grill to others? Most definitely. If I was pushed to find a fault with anything, it would be that we didn't have linen napkins, but that is just nit picking. We had a lovely evening so my rating would have to be a 9.99/10
