Disappointing and embarrassing trip with family. I recommended visiting having enjoyed coffee etc here previously. On arrival we were completely ignored by the three women working behind the counter. Noticing a sign inviting us to sit at a table and have our order taken we did so. And were ignored for another 10 minutes. Eventually gave up and left. Noticed, as we did so, that the server behind the counter was now busy messaging a friend on WhatsApp. Mentioned we were leaving and they didn’t seem to care. Would avoid this cafe when a much friendlier reception can be had down at Calders or Oakwood.

Questioning my maths skills after a trip here. French toast & bacon & maple syrup for me (£6.95+ 70p). Chicken nuggets, chips & beans for son (£5.75), coffee, glass of milk and kids ice lolly. Total: £24.75 Nice location and great to have a play area for the wee ones but don’t feel I’ll be back anytime soon at these prices.

We enjoy our visits to Oscar's as our granddaughter loves the playhouse. It's a big open room but the floor-to-ceiling windows mean it is very airy and the views of the Campsies are great. Service is good and the food is delicious. I had scrambled eggs on toast done to perfection followed by a Nutella tiffin (what's not to like!), my husband had mac 'n' cheese and my granddaughter had the kids' lunch box filled with goodies and free on Mondays and Tuesdays (although on our previous visit the young server charged us the full £6.45 cost, my fault for not checking the bill at the time). Afterwards we took our little one outside to see the rabbits and guinea pigs, then headed off in the car for a trip in the countryside.

This is my second visit to the cafe, and to be honest I can’t understand , there method of service , when the cafe open a couple of years ago my wife and I ordered soup then a baked potato with tuna , everything arrived at once ,the time I had my soup my baked potato was cold , I said the the waitress and she took it away , a couple of years on my wife and I ordered more or less the same , only this time I asked the waitress to make sure I get the soup first , the soup arrived first ,3 minutes later the baked potatoes followed ,once again by the time I had my soup potatoes were cold , the soup was lentil but it was more split pea , we had coffee afterwards and it was warm not hot , for all the money that has been spent building this cafe , they really should put someone who knows something about running a cafe , one mile up at mugdock park is caulders cafe , they should pay them a visit and see how a real cafe is run .

On paying my bill, tried to charge for 2 Americanos, do someone got a freebie. Bill was £33 and it wasn’t until I added it up later that I realised I’d still been overcharged. 5 item breakfast, French toast with bacon, roll and link and kids meal. A coffee a tea and 2 fruit shoots. To add to injury I agree with previous that you feel obligated to leave a tip when paying and staff member standing there telling you that you need to pick option to tip or not. Lovely place, but do your sums before paying.

This cafe has the potential to be a brilliant place to meet friends with other kids. The setting is ideal. The cafe looks over the horse riding school and there are rabbits and guinea pigs for the kids to see. There is also a small toddler play area for young children to play in and most importantly a good selection of cakes. However, what let’s this place down is the staff. The cafe wasn’t that busy and when we arrived a woman came over to initially take an order but we said we were waiting for 1 more person. We didn’t think this was a problem as there were only another couple of tables in the cafe. No one ever came back to get the order. My friends and I all had young babies with us and we had to each go up to the counter to order our food and drink. We were made to feel that we were an inconvenience by the looks we were getting from staff behind the counter. We felt as though having small babies in the cafe was annoying the staff even although it seemed like a child friendly place since it had a children’s play area. What was meant to be a nice catch up with friends ended up with us leaving feeling uncomfortable by the unfriendly atmosphere which had been created by the staff.

The service was extremely poor - though table service had to go and ask for our order to be taken. I had a pink sausage filled roll and the sausages had more gristle in than meat - really quite horrible

Just back from Oscar's café and was disappointed to observe that upon paying with a credit card I was automatically asked by the card machine whether I wanted to include a 10%, 20% or 30% tip. Or not to leave a tip at all. This is a form of blackmail in my view. I have, until today, always left a tip but will never do again whilst this iniquitous system prevails. Very disappointed.

We visit this cafe every 4-5 weeks for a lunch . It's been open a couple of years . Pluspoints good food varied menu (try the scrummy breakfast rolls or omelette) beautiful views of the hills and loads of nice animals roaming about the stables and fields . Very child friendly , staff are amazingly helpful . A good value for money cafe good service would highly recommend . 4 star .

Great wee cafe with a lovely play area for very young children. Im gluten free so was told they have GF bread so therefore can do toasties/sandwiches. There was also Jacket potatoes. The food is made fresh and is a decent portion and great price. Staff are very friendly and helpful. My only recommendation is that they maybe use a different cheese for their toasties... What they used was bland in taste. I will definitely return but have a different filling. Was lovely watching children have riding lessons in the paddock right outside.

Great wee spot to go with the kids. A toy section for them in the middle of the cafe, few animals outside and lovely setting with the horse paddock out front. Food has always been plentiful and tasty and staff friendly.

Relatively new cafe/restaurant to me situated just off the side road to Mugdock left turn to newly developed stables and riding display area . Apart from the usual cafe favourites like tea/ coffee and scones etc there is a tasty menu offering , soup panninis, burgers, macaroni, side salads, fish and chips , and other tasty hot meals. We had the macaroni with salad and a side dish of the best chips I've tasted in a while and very reasonable and served piping hot . Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

The hot chocolate was luke warm. The waiting time was 35 minutes for the food we ordered which was one serving of two slices of French Toast & one serving of the new Yorkshire Pudding meal both of which were almost cold by the time they arrived at the table. The Stirling Bob & Berts has very sadly gone down hill this year. It used to be very good. We will not be eating there again until it improves

Lovely cafe with amazing home made food and cakes. The steak sandwich was cooked to perfection and the Mac and cheese was delicious. So much so for young kids and the added bonus of a large dog field for walkers etc. will definitely be back

I ordered the venison burger, it was really awful. If one part of the meal was not good i would of mentioned it and given them the chance to sort it. But due to so many parts of the meal being really bad it made more sense to write a bad review. The food was what the food was. Chips were sickly pale and undercooked, onion rings were undercooked in oil not hot enough leaving it thick and soaked through the batter, oil was also not clean, it had black bits throughout. The burger bun was dry and freezer burned, either stale or hard at edges from being microwaved. The venison burger had been frozen and defrosted in the microwave, but too long in the microwave so it was dry and solid like a hockey puck. The woman at the bar was not particularly friendly either, not the younger girl, the older one. We spend £45 in there, we were extremely hungry from climbing so we ate it all but it really really was terrible and just to fill a hole.

Like everyone else had coffee and left with a 100£ "parking notice" :))) no way to keep business. Will not be back and will stray others away.

Open and very public space. Very pleasant staff all local girls. Pity about the loud foul language of some customers.
