Oriental Wok in Kirklees

I really don’t know why this place has poor ratings! I’m totally honest with my reviews and I’ve been ordering from here for months!! I have THE best Chinese from here for ages! I’ve had various meals and they are great! Try it for yourself, everyone says different things….. mine are it’s fab!

The worst Chinese take away we ever had. It came in a timely manner but bottle of pop was missing and still not been brought to us after telling them. The chips were hard and stale, the fried rice not very hot and the salt and pepper wings had never seen salt and pepper. Give this place a miss if you are wanting a nice Chinese take away.

Absolutely shocking customer service, no food after two hours and can’t get ahold of them to cancel order

Ordered online at 6pm tonight was told 40 min wait, rang at 7.10 told driver was delivering meal now, rang again at 7.40also to be told was being delivered, Takeaway rang me at 8 pm toadk if still wanted meals could have bottle of pop and 3.80 discount and she would get it to me in 20 mins (obviously hadnt been cooked the 2 previous times were told it was on its way meals arrived 8.35 pm will not be using Oriental Wok again as lied to twice disgusting customer service.

The missing meal we were told it would be delivered straight away! We rang every 20 mins after that and got the same story until it turned up nearly an hour later! Should have been a chicken chow mein! What we got was some Luke warm noodles with a bit of chicken thrown in! It was inedible! Never again!

Terrible. Ordered set meal for 3 and duck pancakes as a starter for 5:45pm. Starter arrived but the rest didn’t! Phoned 3 times and woman put phone down on me each time, fobbing me off and saying they were busy. She was extremely rude. Thankfully I’d ordered through ‘Just eat’ and they looked into it and refunded me straight away. The duck pancakes received were barely edible. Duck almost burnt to a crisp and cucumber and onion very dry, like it had been prepared the day before and left. Will most definitely not recommend this place. Avoid!

So it says that they close at 11:30 and I was ringing from 10:50 onwards and no answer not happy mums now crying because she can’t have her Chinese 😭😭😭

food was excellent, driver went to wrong address but was quickly here. ordered off just eat, would use again

Ordered from here tonight. Got told an hour for delivery, turns up half an hour late. No apology. My gf rang the shop to ask for a update, just had the phone put down on her! Rang back straight away and the person was delirious of what was happening, asked for a apology and nothing. Terrible customer service and the food was cold. Despicable.

We always use Oriental Wok never had a bad meal yet. Food always hot and delivered on time. Fast friendly staff and efficient

Wish I'd read reviews before ordering waste of money. 1/4 duck tiny portion and mainly fat and tasteless. Special curry was just beef and chicken and tasteless, Tom yum soup was beyond disgusting and tasted like all other food i.e. of nothing. Wish I'd spent my money at McDonald's

Been using OW for years now. Gutted to read the negative reviews, as personally I've never had a bad experience. We've previously used another couple of Chinese takeaways in Cleck when this place is closed on a Wednesday, but we're always disappointed and come back to OW. The lady always says "20mins, half hour" for the food to arrive. Only once has it been longer than 15mins! It always takes us by surprise how quick it is!

I ordered beancurd and satay as my usual beancurd in blackbean sauce stated it had vegetables in it. The beancurd and satay was a tub of overcooked veg with a few strands of overcooked rubbery beancurd! So I took out the beancurd and there is a full tub of veg in satay sauce in the bin!

I ordered the salt and pepper chicken, chips and ok sauce. As soon as I opened the chicken I noticed how crispy it was and how it was in long slivers. So I tried a piece and it tasted of nothing. But the texture was like overcooked calamari that I had in Spain earlier in the year so I thought they have probably made an error and gave me the squid. I phoned the takeaway to explain, I was shouted at and told there will be no refund or alternative offered and that I am wrong as it is definitely chicken! It may well have been chicken but if it was, it has been overcooked to such an extent it did not remotely resemble chicken any longer. Also if it had of been seafood and I happened to be allergic to it like my niece is it could have gone very bad very quickly but they just didn't care at all. This is the worst Chinese takeaway in this area and I know all of them. I have been a Chinese delivery driver myself for 10 years and I have never witnessed a customer treated this way. The Chinese people in my experience will not be happy until the customer is happy. I have returned to customers on many occasions with replacement dishes that they simply didn't like when working for other takeaways. This is not representative of this culture at all. This takeaway is just taking money without providing a satisfactory service.

Pedí un plato de wok oriental por comer. Tardamos una hora que es estándar para un fin de semana.

I love this Chinese takeaway. Always delicious and delivery always quick. Never been let down and been using them for years. The food is tasty and consistently good.

Crítica de comida para llevar. Primero se intentó OW en noviembre del año pasado, inmediatamente nos detuvimos molestando con cualquier otra comida para llevar chinos. No puedo pensar en nada que criticar: entrega rápido y agradable y la comida era fabulosa. La sal y calamares de pimienta no podía ser mejor. El pato es a menudo una opción de comida para llevar no arriesgada pero aquí, es encantador.

absolutely no exaggeration. Worst Chinese takeaway we've ever had. The lady was very nice, service swift but food terrible. Starters were greasy and burned mains were just gloopy and flavourless with very few veg. Never going back.
