Oriental Star in Nuneaton and Bedworth

Myself and my partner vomited and from food poisoning in the early hours from food purchased and consumed yesterday.

Foods always good. Very unusual for the delivery to be late

the food was amazing. and the banana fritters fresh and warm are just devine

Egg fried rice and hot and sour soup was very vinegary

Timing was wrong on the app…. Had to collect the food

Great portion sizes and good food quality.

Waited over an hour and a half for the food to be delivered, food wasn’t great it lacked in flavour, the rice was hard the only good thing was the chips.

I'm usually the first to write a negative review about a place but I can honestly say, apart from one hiccup, I can't recommend this place enough. The food always arrive early, it's too hot to serve most times and the flavours, my God the flavours, are why I only use these people. I have to try and not order every day otherwise I'd be fat(ter) but it would be 100% worth it. Thank you for your food and I look forward to ordering soon

the delivery driver didn't want to buzz my flat he instead texted me and said he is outside and I had to ask my husband to go and get the food from him and even then he was not near the door I'm disabled and can't walk to the main door of the block he should have been more professional and buzzed and delivered to my front door

Took 2 hours for food to arrive but was decent. Delivery driver was very rude. I live in a flat with an intercom when he rang my buzzer and I answered he just said I'm outside without saying who he was. I asked who is it again only then did he say he was Delivering. I buzzed him in but he would not come into the building and to my door saying he was not allowed to come in the building.we had a argument with us both calling each other idiots before he just walked away.

Terrible service, chicken was not fresh at all and lukewarm mushrooms soggy and flavorless , rice cold beef not fresh taste like it was sitting out for a good few hours, rice reeks of burnt toast I’m really disappointed at a hard day at work and it is just inedible kids went to bed hungry,absolutely nightmare…please issue a refund.

Delivery driver rude, knocked wrong door, knocked neighbours bell off the door and left it on the ground. gave me wrong order and argued I hadn't paid. eventually realised he'd made a mistake and gave me my order.

Not a very nice meal this time,tiny tiny chicken wings compared to previous and the Singapore chowmein was disgusting just stodgy slop. Sweet and sour chicken balls were basically goujons and I have experienced much much better from oriental star.

The food was good and they gave us a free drink but a 2 hour estimate for delivery is unacceptable and then they were late on top of that. Won't use again sadly.

Food arrived a little early (not complaining), it was hot and the portions were very generous! The chicken dishes had real chicken, as in not the seemingly steamed version. Overall, we were very pleased and left very satisfied.

The food took 2 hours to arrive, which was disappointing. However we were sent 2 drinks as an apology which was appreciated. Food was fresh and delicious!

the meal was nice a little late but a free bottle of pop was in the order as a sorry so still pleased with the service

Ah! What a meal!! Communication with this establishment was on point, great and clear customer service with a heartfelt conversation. The website, clear, comprehensive to an extent and was easily accessible. The delivery was swift and without fuss. Now the best part, the food was exceptional! Hot, ordered exactly how we requested it down to the amendments. Flavourful, colourful and didn't loose anything the more you ate the better it got. Taste bud sensation. It is by far the rising champion of Chinese takeaway in Nuneaton. Add this takeaway to the only one you and the family will need! Our only recommendation

Food was bland and took far too long to be delivered.

Absolutely terrible. Just looking at it was apprehensive, 2 fork fulls of the rice and it was horrendous. Ordered by mistake instead of a local Chinese with a similar name. Avoid at all costs.

It is criminal for them to charge for food this tasteless and disgusting. 🤢 £40 gone down the drain. I don’t usually leave reviews but this was especially bad.

As always the food from oriental star was top notch, the portions are very generous and exceptionally tasty..the service is very quick,you can order to collect and it can be ready as soon as you want..and overall the it is fantastic value for money 👍😋

first of all, I ordered with delivery and after payment it changed to collection, secondly, how the can you accept orders when you are closed, also this information is after payment and I'm still waiting for a refund

Food is awful, please stay away. Taste like reheated, sour, disgusting dish. Do not recommend, stay away people.

Rude Customer Service when placing order

Well I like to make my own judgement on a place. The reviews were bad but now I can also say it’s the worst Chinese I’ve ever had. Catonese chicken was dry, wasn’t sure that was possible. The beef chowmein tasted off and the texture chewy. Egg fried rice was like broken dog rice and tasteless! Never again.

Our usual Chinese takeaway was closed, so gave the Oriental Star a call. Wow! The food was fantastic. It's now our go to takeaway

Service is very good. The staff are always friendly. Food is consistently good and great prices for portions.

Very fast delivery however extremely poor quality food. 4 meals and a lot of extras ordered and all disgusting, must have been prepped 2 weeks ago, smell is disgusting, taste is even worse. Will never order from here again despite local. Most has now gone in the bin. Dare not give it the dogs. Put plate on side for 2 mins and whatever the sauce is has stained the side.

Absolutely disgusting food . It was cold smell was terrible and chicken wasn’t cooked when I cut into it. Ordered it too come for 8pm and turned up at 7.10pm. Fuming is an understatement

Absolutely horrendous, didn't finish the meal, binning the left overs that were meant for tomorrow. Kung po tastes nothing like kung po, something must have been horribly wrong. Foo Yung smelled "sweaty", had to spit it out as I'm convinced that an ingredient had gone bad. The sweet and sour sauce was not very good, and had way too much colouring in it. I've tried several chinese restaurants in the area, most are absolutely fine, but avoid this one at all cost.

Ordered for the fist time and what a waste of 20 pound food was piping hot but very greasy chicken was chewy spare ribs was over cooked do not order from this takeaway total waste of money 🤮

Not nice noodles tastleless, chips hard, rice hard, chicken balls chicken like rubber batter just all overcooked and greasy, sauces not nice either.

The worst experience I have ever had in my life with a restaurant. Customer service skills horrendous and delivery experience through just eat exactly the same. The driver refused to come to the address then when he decided to come inside the flats building he delivered the food to someone else, when I asked him where's my food he said he delivered it, came back 5 minutes later with the food opened at my door, probably taken back from that neighbor after they opened and he was expecting me to accept it. Rang the restaurant and the lady was so rude and unskilled, saying '' that's why drivers don't like to deliver to flats ", honestly if they cannot deliver then they should not do it at all! She was questioning me why I don't go and collect from the car park, well, that's why I order food! To have it delivered at the door, it means I cannot leave the property at that particular time. Horrible experience, would never ever order again from this restaurant.

The food is so disgusting chips was like rubber and sum like cardboard there is no flavour to the noodles the curry was lumpy took the driver ages to find our address never going to order again it's a pity my husband ordered else I would of sent it all back very very disappointing

Absolutely love this Chinese, I regularly order and I’m never disappointed, even had a little surprise in my order tonight that they had given us for free, I can never fault the food or the staff and the portions are always hot and amazing size!! Thankyou :)

Don't know if there's a new chef in the establishment, can't call he/she a chef ....(cook maybe ) I'm English and can cook a better Chinese, very disappointed with the food in the past we have had good food. Prawn toast 3 pieces tasted like it was cooked the day before, rice noodles over cooked, ribs chewy, crispy beef very odd looking and didn't taste right, chips dry and wasn't fresh, chicken and mushroom was okay but not the same as it has been, spent nearly £40, probably £30 worth ended up inthe bin, I'm not one to complain but this meal was awful.

Worst chinese food we have ever tasted. Wished I'd came here to read reviews 1st. £40 of food wasted. Chow mein smelt awful. Crispy beef was so spicy unedible. And not sure what the salt n pepper chicken was smelt like bbq flavours... making me feel ill thinking bout it. 🤢 positives... food was piping hot ( even tho didn't eat it) and delviery driver was pleasant!

Ordered from here a couple if times and food has always been good. Ordered crispy beef tonight alone with other items. When it arrived the rice was missing and the beef wasnt crispy and lots of sauce. Rang to inform them of the missed rice and they couldn't have been more helpful. Within 10 minutes a new rice and crispy beef arrived. Couldn't have been happier with the customer service... will definitely recommend this place.

Always use this Chinese but its recently changed hands and now run by Romainians.We had a meal last night..special mix was dry no taste mushroom curry the mushrooms tasted like they were still raw has for the curry sauce it was swimming in oil very greasey.

when it came the dude said just "here" and didn't even make eye contact then the noodles were very cry no type of flavour and the special mix was bland the grave i swear was just bisto and since eating me and the other person have done nothing but run to the loo

Disgusting service. Made an order from Just eat and waited 2.3 hours with no food in sight and called them up only to be told i would need to wait another 1hour45 mins for food as they were busy. Told them this wasn’t fair and they asked me to cancel my order. Highly inefficient bunch

It was okay the black bean sauce and Peking sauce was very watery, the chips were also cold. Tasted like chemicals. Not sure why it tasted like that. Maybe it was the plastic containers.

Worst Chinese I’ve ever had 1st meal was a curry very watery and tasteless 2nd chow main plain no taste had gravy with it and the gravy was watery aswell never again !

Just placed an order of fried won ton along with another £18 worth of food... shocking to say the least. So much so, ive asked for it to be re-collected and to be given a refund, and if it isnt collected? Ill be gracing the worktop tomorrow for you all to do a jigsaw out of the cremated pieces youve delivered!! As a chinese foodie regular in birmingham most weekends, my won ton favourite dish.. is now my least favourite. I wish i could post a pic of the utter monstrosity that was tipped out of the bag, and onto my plate!! Disgraceful!!

Just ordered a fried won ton absolutely disgusting as it’s all shrivelled and burnt when I opened the paper bag. The chow mien I ordered also, tasted like rubber, and the chips were decent. Do not recommend for anyone who is up for a Chinese on a Saturday night! Awful food!! Could do with an upgrade inside the place itself as well. Absolutely horrendous

This used to be our first choice Chinese, however I believe it now has new owners, and after the last two visits the first of which we gave them the benefit the doupt, the food has gone considerably downhill, we will not be using them again.

I had a delivery last night and my word it was absolutely disgustingly shocking the crispy seaweed was soggy and tasted like there's tipped the hole lot of sault over it. The Chips & Rice with BBQ sauce well I've never had anything so disgustingly foul the Chips where black and looked bad. nd the BBQ sauce well looked like they had melted pink candyfloss over the Rice and Chips and the Wan Tons well they were absolutely raw inside I chucked the order away and wasted good money on that absolutely NEVER gonna be going back here anytime soon gonna say to anyone AVOID using these like the plague because it's heartbreaking for you to have to waste perfect good money on absolute foul cooking like I had how on earth I never contract led food poisoning after consuming there food god it beggers believe but I'm just glad I didn't 😡😰
