Oriental Pearl in Telford and Wrekin

Ordered 2 x chicken curry's and fried rice they tried to deliver 1 hour early when we were not in . Then after it eventually came 50 mins late the rice was burnt and the curry poor and cold. Never again

Placed an order for collection, ordered the deluxe salt and pepper box. Food was fresh, hot and delicious! Highly recommended!

Undercooked and chewy chicken, rice as hard as bullets and a sauce with no flavour. The worst Chinese I've ever had. Attempted to contact the company, nonanswer after 4 attempts. FOODHUB had to get in contact to which the company offered no refund or apologies. Avoid at all costs, you would be better going next door to the pizza place.

Been on the look out for a decent Chinese since moved to Telford last year! Tried it today and did not enjoy it, was so tasteless and the chips tasted stale! Such a shame!

So sad to say this was our go-to Chinese and we'd rave about this place. But recently, we've had 3 orders that have been really below our high standard that we know these guys deliver. The chicken balls have been chewy and fatty, the salt and pepper chicken has had more veggies in that chicken and the chow mein has been dry and bland. For the price, we can't justify visiting here anymore. (PS- We adore fortune cooking in Oakengates!).

First time customer and I will definitely visit again. The food was amazing and well presented. Peanut Satay sauce was superb. And the cost was fair and reasonable. My verdict is...this has got to the best chinese in Telford. Thank you chef for an amazing meal.

Had our meal totally ruined because both sauces bbq & curry tasted of pure salt so nearly £18 wasted thanks NOT

Ordered chicken with mushrooms Omelette which comes with chips, Omelette was OK but the chips must have been in the fryer for a week rock hard potato shells terrible

I had food poisoning from chicken curry as chicken was not cooked I am waiting for results from my stool sample which the doctor has sent away.also blood sample results.from hostipal .l have been so poorly.for three weeks.since i ate two mouthfuls of the chicken in the curry.as I put it in my mouth i knew that it wasn't right but by this time i had swallowed it .when i get my results back from doctor's.Iwill be reported them to the envirmental health. As my doctor said i have had food poisoning from chicken will never order from there again .Also i have never had a takeaway from there before .as my usual takeaway was shut.as it is closed on Tuesdays .which i have had take aways from there for more than 20years &no problems what so ever but they don't deliver .that is why i ordered it from oriental pearl as my grand daughter déjà wanted a Chinese when she came to stay with me .thankgod.she didn't have any of the chicken curry as i know she would be in hospital now..no rating for this take away canrt post this unless i rate it so i will post 1star .

This Chinese is really starting to go down hill. I've been coming to this Chinese for around 10 years now and normally it is brilliant, but the past few times I've come here it has been really poor and to a really low standard like today for example where my chips were sloppy and my sweet and sour sauce was like a pot of jelly where I could barely pour it over my food (I took it back however and I was given a new order with the sauce right in the end). Think I'm going to take a break from coming to this Chinese now for a while after a few recent bad visits.

The best Chinese I have had in years..absolutely awesome I had singapore chow mein veg crispy ..meat etc just melted in my mouth. My hubby had chicken and pineapple with rice..he said rice was so fluffy never had rice like it thank you we will be back xx

Appealing meal. Ordered sweet and sour king prawn, prawns were virtually raw and the sauce was just like jelly. Never order again.

Just thought for a change from our normal takeaway in wellington we would try here bank Hoilday Sunday thought it was fast only just ordered the food & 5 mins it was ready barbecue spear -ribs the meat on it was very little the sauce was so greasy tasteless we only ate the mix meat rice dish that’s because we was hungry we won’t be using there again we stick to nee city wellington 100% great food better the devil to know 👍

Lovely food , I can honestly say the best in telford.

We use these quite often, it has been hit and miss but stick with them. Tonight it was awful, kung po..it was battered chicken with hardly any sauce .. kung po isn't battered chicken, chow mein was dry... phoned up to say, which we have never done before.. they admitted kung po is not battered chicken but refused refund.. we could have discount!! After tonight no thank you

I don't like take away food much because its never hot or fresh but oriental pearl was really good last week

Ordered Deep Fried Squid with Chilli, Salt & Pepper at the restaurant for the first time. It smells so good when open the lid, it still crispy outside and chewy inside It became my favourite!

Ive ordered from this place for 10 years and never had a bad meal until Friday night. Ordered beef in black bean sause which no way was black bean sauce it was just like a watery cream sauce. Its a shame to be honest as the food has only started to go down hill over the last couple months. Wont order anything again

Ordered Chicken and Prawn XO sauce tonight, used to be good but this time so disappointed, sooooo different and it is not xo sauce at all. It just like mud sauce taste like vegetables soup. No more order from this restaurant ever

We've tried two other Chinese takeaway's within the area since moving here and nearly gave up any hope of enjoying a Chinese takeaway again. That was until having one from here, absolutely delicious. Exactly the same as what we've always enjoyed from past Chinese takeaway's in Birmingham where we used to live. We Always have the same so we know what we like and what to expect and Oriental Pearl did not disappoint. Hot, delicious food, with flavour and worth the price. The lady who took my order over the phone was friendly and helpful. We shall definitely be ordering from here again and we will be recommending them to other people.

Ordered at 7:00pm, selected 8:00pm for delivery, it stated it would arrive at 8:30, hadn’t come by 9:00 then rang up and told it wouldn’t be with me till 10!! Waited 3 hours for some salt and pepper chips, salt and chilli chips & curry sauce. Do not ordered from this Chinese! The chips were disgusting, weren’t any seasoning on there but chicken was alright. Don’t waste your money here.

They do nice food, normally 20 mins if your picking up. Over 2 and a half hours if your waiting for delivery.

We have just had the worst experience.. ordered from a Chinese we dont ever really use . When arrived the food was so cold and dry . After dishing everyones food we noticed that the chips seemed like they were days old and the bbq sauce was like jelly never seen anything like it anyway Neil then bites into his chicken to find it pink and rubbery and had a funny smell .. we then phone up to complain to be spoken to like absolute rubbish and refused to be refunded even though we couldnt eat the meal and it cost 40 pound for something I wouldn't feed my dog .. he also said that the chicken cant be raw as it was pre cooked . I dont normally complain on here but how rude he was and how he slammed the phone down is the reason for this . Vile we even said he could come and collect the food . No customer service and would highly recommend no one using this Chinese in the future .

Ordered food saying 35-40 minutes, waited over a hour still no food, call up to be told they are busy and they will check, then told the food is just going in and I should wait another 40 minutes and call to see how long it will be, cancelled!! There also seem to be a big attitude problem there, wont be using again, would recommend people to the same.

i ordered food online stated 44mins rang up stated they was to busy to take and not doing deliverys after it let me order online the place is a joke

This was my favourite Chinese in Telford a few years ago, but the last 3 times I have been there the standards have majorly dropped, not sure if they have a new chef/ownership but it really has gone down hill. Waited 2.5 hours for my food, and stone cold on arrival. The special chow mein had absolutely no taste what so ever, just greasy and overcooked. The won ton, again wAs burnt to a Chrisp, to the point of no taste and tiny bits of meat. The seaweed, which I would imagine is very hard to overcook, was once again burnt so much, spoiling the taste completely. Everything was just so bland with no seasoning/taste. Very disappointing.

My order never got delivered, no late notification or update from the restaurant what so ever. I paid almost £30 for a meal that never arrived. The phone number is constantly engaged also so I was unable to call for an update. Do not waste your time or money with this place

Food taste like it was made a few weeks ago and then reheated .

I always buy from this takeaway and have done for many years very loyal but after mis- communication where the gentleman couldn’t hear me place my order ,he just slammed the phone down - no comment saying I can’t hear you sorry I am going to hang up - just point blank said can’t hear you and the phone was slammed down - no patience - so when I called back to place my order again I mentioned what happened and was happy to place my order but was put onto the gentleman where no apology was made basically he said he repeated to me that he was sorry and he couldn’t hear me - which he never did - calling me a liar, I always order from them for birthday celebrations large orders - but after how I was treated I will NEVER order again and will also tell my family and friends also - very disappointed

Terrible place to order from. Was accused of not paying the delivery driver but when I said I could show them on my door camera I had handed over the money... they realised it was a mistake but gave no apology! Members of staff extremely rude. Curry sauce also tasted like dirt. Was not impressed.

Meal took over an hour to arrive, it was cold, I ordered a chicken dish,and got pork, Will not be using oriental pearl again.

Sorry I reviewed this place but it's the wrong place it was not oriental pearl it's lotus sorry people

3stars due to the pour manor of the girl taking the orders. Always use this Takeaway service as a first choice but feel as the girl taking orders has changed this for me. Service is key in all areas. Food has always been fine and delivery people always pleasant. To maintain all stars the it is important to monitor the service all around.

Waited an hour and a half for food, when we phoned staff were rude and told us they were very busy, not our problem! When the food finally arrived it was stone cold and we were told to reheat it and had the phone put down on us , bearing in mind we had a variety of meats and our son was also going to be eating this food.. Absolutely disgusting!! 🤢

Tonight 25/8/18 I went to this Chinese had to wait ages for my order when I got home with it I had chips that were dry and looked like they had been reheated about 3 times ! Chicken balls in batter that also looked like they had been reheated !!!! Worst Chinese I have ever had most of it was inedible if I hadn’t of been babysitting my grandson I would of returned with the food ! Won’t be using or recommending this Chinese again !!!!

Great food which has earned the stars but Such a shame the staff are rude . Got my order wrong called up about it and was basically called a liar by the girl on the other end of the phone as she hadn't written it down correctly so there for that means I never asked for it according the her very bad attitude
