Oriental Garden Chinese Restaurant in Newport

Waited 2 hours for our delivery. Food generally good except pancake roll. Was undercooked and had a funky taste. Pineapple fritters were nice to have in chunks instead of rings but would have been better crispy and with the syrup as stated instead of soggy.

If you want tasty chinese food and to feel looked after, then this is your place! Thank you for the delicious food and service tonight. You're a lovely family.

Food was delicious as always. Staff were understanding and willing to make adaptions to dishes. Service was excellent and quick.

Always a bit cold which doesn’t really matter if it’s a takeaway but lovely food although a bit expensive

Well we ordered food at 6pm this evening for delivery at 8pm…..it’s now 11.05pm and we’re still being told it’s “on the way”….but apparently we’ll get a free Fanta! I know it’s NYE guys but if you can’t fulfil orders then be honest with your customers so they can make other arrangements.

Absolutely love coming here. Great food, great service, lovely atmosphere. Crispy noodles are fantastic, soups are wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed the pot of jasmine tea. 😋

I have ordered takeaway from this restaurant a few times now so can make a reasonable assessment. Food - very good Friendliness of staff - excellent Parking - available outside the restaurant (on street) and there is a 2 car drive which i have been able to get a space in most times. If i want a chinese takeaway i go here for the food, friendliness and accessibility. One point for feedback would be the containers are microwaveable , although some were rated for 650Watts, 1 for 500 and the chicken and sweetcorn soup container, while having the microwave icon did not have a number for the microwave power rating , which is trivial, just put it in a bowl. Would be excellent to have the same microwave power rating for all containers, but overall 5/5 is the most accurate score!

Love the food here, always fresh and tastes nice I highly recommend customer service is always pleasant here and I would go to say this is one of the best Chinese places in Newport I am a regular customer here 👍🏾

After looking at Google reviews as our normal Chinese is shut this place came in top but unfortunately it was very dissatisfying over 90% has been wasted due to lack of taste mostly. Although delivery driver was very polite and I’m sure other people have different tastes but sad to say we won’t be ordering again very bland also looked the exact same as the Chinese kits you pick up in asdas ect but actually had less taste 😔

Recently moved to Newport from torfaen, 3rd different Chinese we've tried in Newport and this one was absolutely delicious. Food was hot and tasted good. Good flavours. Will definitely order takeaway again. thanks!

Best Chinese we've had in YEARS!, we come from other side of Newport and it was well worth it, lovely, friendly and helpful staff. Will defiantly be returning customers. It's all clean and tidy the restraunt bit looks lovely too. We had the set meal for one and there was loads for the two of us and today Thankyou for our lovely food. xx

First time ordering from here and it was an absolute delight, arrived in good time, it was warm and very tasty. My order was beef chow mein, szechuan King prawn, salt and pepper chicken balls with two pots of curry sauce. We ate it all and had hardly any left overs as it was too good and it was definitely that taste we've been wanting for a while. Only thing is I ordered a beef chow mein and recieved beef fried rice. I'm glad it was tasty otherwise I would of been annoyed.

Great tasting food, good portion sizes and reasonably priced. Straight forward to collect and easy to make telephone orders. Payment both Cash and Card.

Wow! what a fantastic Chinese restaurant on our doorstep! Really delicious food, good size portions and really attentive, friendly service. If that wasn't enough the value for money was really excellent. The decor and crockery etc were superb as well. Thank you girls we will be back.

Id of given more stars for food but my chowmein didnt arrive. Called resterant who said we would have to pay for our chow mein to be sent out that we had already paid for...love the food here but wont be ordering again. Lost out on money and food to night. We paid £32 and did not get our chowmein we ordered

Tried this place for the first time and drove from Cwmbran to Newport to collect and fair play it was worth the trip the food was so hot by the time i drove all the way back to cwmbran when I got home it was piping hot still which I could get a Chinese that hot on my doorstep so hats of to them for really hot food, and the taste was brilliant can't fault the food it was absolutely lovely and the chicken balls were huge and moist inside and batter was perfect all in all the best Chinese me and my family have had by far even beats all the Chinese takeaways in my area in cwmbran. Would recommend to anyone to try

This is the best takeaway we have ever had. The food was fresh and tasty, good quality meats and really reasonably priced. There was enough for two nights and even warmed up on the second night it was really good. Home delivery was bang on and better than alot of food we have had in restaurants. Can’t wait to order again! Perfect in every way!

First time ordering there and I must say, this was possibly the best Chinese food we’ve had for a very long time. Food hot and delicious, big portions too and they gave us extra chicken wings for ordering so much. We will definitely order from them again! :)

Just ordered a take away..absolutely delicious. The house special fried rice, curry sauce , salt and pepper chicken wings , chips....rtc all very tasty and delicious. Food was delivered hot. We've very much enjoyed the food. Would definately order again.

Ordered a delivery from here, told it would be around 45 mins which I didn’t mind, food came within about 30 minutes. Food was all piping hot and fresh. We had salt and pepper chips, house special fried rice, chicken chow mein, salt and pepper ribs, mini spring rolls and was also given FREE salt and pepper chicken. Really impressed and all food was lovely! Best Chinese I’ve had in a long time. Definitely recommend

Have experienced dining in and takeaway. Both were fantastic, cannot fault the quality of food. Service was amazing. No other place I would go to get Chinese.

The best Chinese food I ever had in years, I had Chow mein and my boyfriend had Sweet and Sour chicken. After a huge disappointment of getting awful chinese food from another place on the same street, we had to go elsewhere to find proper food, but this place was so welcoming, the Lady at the reception was so kind and helpful, and the place looked really cute and the cleanest Chinese restaurant in Newport! Would definitely go back and hopefully we can sit inside this time and try other foods from the menu. Would recommend 100%

Placed an order and the food was delivered on time, hot, fresh and very tasty. Ordered a chicken and black bean sauce and Singapore fried rice for myself, my husband had chicken chow mein, nice big pieces of onion and green pepper in the chicken and black bean sauce and the chicken was tasty and juicy not dry at all. Well done Oriental Garden 👏👏will defo recommend you and be ordering again, thank you. 😊

Newly reopened and wow what a change. Can thoroughly recommend the 2 person hors d'oeuvre as a starter👍. Both main courses we also fab and their ordering app is easy and efficient for takeaways.

Food is quality. It is so tasty and affordable. Always delivered on time and food always piping hot. Free prawn crackers, too. A portion of chips is huge. I have been using this establishment for a couple year's and never disappointed.

Best Chinese food we've had for a long time. The hot mixed appetisers were delicious and the Kung Po chicken was fantastic! The place was busy with takeaway orders, Just Eat drivers etc but we received very friendly and efficient service and were made to feel very welcome. The actual restaurant is comfortably furnished and spotlessly clean too. Would definitely recommend.

We went there this evening for my partners 50th birthday. Have to say the food was fantastic, and plenty of it. The room was decorated with happy birthday and balloons. Very friendly staff and great service. We will be back.

Perfect Chinese I had in a long time. I would say the best chinese in Newport. Every meal was very delicious to the point and not greasy as usual chinese takeaways. Not only the food but the services including the delivery guy was so helpful and respectful. The lady who attended my order also made sure to ring me back to check if everything was right and if we were happy with our order as we made a huge order for 10+ people. Inspite all this they even provided us with lots of xtra food items, including but not limited to drinks, fried rice, fortune cookies, spring rolls, prawn crackers, etc etc. Keep going guys!! Thank you for the perfect food and service. Will order again soon :)

Believe this has had new management recently, and it certainly looks bright and welcoming. Very friendly and helpful staff, and the food is very nice indeed. Tastes fresh and flavoursome, and definitely one of the best Chinese meals had in a while. Would recommend for sure.

Just called to try and order food, told reception the address and she said no, it was too far. I live 4.8 miles away from it. I could literally walk. Plus she is very rude! I wouldn't mind, but we ordered a delivery 2 weeks ago with no worries!
