The first restaurant I visited when I moved to Bristol as a starving vegan student and I'm pretty sure there were weeks in a row where I ordered Oowee 3/5 days 😅 The vegan options across Bristol have improved massively over the years but Oowee Vegan remains supreme. Maybe not good for the body, but good for the soul.

Came here with some vegan friends. Blown away by the quality of the menu. An amazing range that tastes great and satisfies a variety of cravings. Shame they’re not more widespread!

Best vegan milkshakes ever! I do feel like it maybe needs some more seating cause its definitely very popular, burger and fries were really good too, but the milkshake was like 11/10 would visit again just for this tbh

Ordered a delivery and came in under 30 mins. Food is so tasty!

Made a special trip for dinner only to find the place was shut for refurbishment. Nothing on their social media, no signs in the window, no one answering the phone, and they hadn't even bothered to update Google Maps. Apparently they were having their Christmas jolly. Hope they had a good one. I certainly didn't, and there were plenty of other hungry, angry, confused people outside. Don't bother making a special trip if you're thinking of eating here!

I want to start this off by saying I have been a fan of Oowee for about 5 years, going to the bristol and manchester location frequently, so I've seen alot of my fave items come and go (namely the shrimp fries), and unfortunately my latest visit a few days ago was a massive let down. I ordered the cluckin fries (one of my all time favourite vegan foods) and the gravy was awful. It was bland and a snotty texture which I just couldn't get over, it also looked like it had come out of a squeeze bottle rather than a ladle and it was luke warm (at best). This was so insanely disappointing, especially since I also ordered a side of gravy and I could tip the cup upside down without the gravy coming out. Considering how yummy those fries used to be, with an abundance of cheese and gravy, now its plain fries with a sprinkle of unmelted, hard cheese (which i think has also been changed recently?) and a slither of cold, squeezed on solid gravy. Not sure if theres been a recipe change but it tasted completely different - I understand with inflation and cost that the prices need to be on the higher side but I do expect quality to come with that, as a student I also don't have much money to spend on takeaways so its a big treat to go out for dinner with my partner and getting vegan junk food. I feel bad leaving a negative review for a business I have enjoyed for such a long time, and I don't want to sound righteous, but it comes from a place of love. I personally think the menu is too big, doing too much, and focusing on specials/ presentation over quality. The gravy is one of the things that makes Oowee different from non-vegan places that offer vegan options- please focus on your USP rather than just trying to make the biggest 'dirtiest' burger that you can. I would also recommend you take new menu pictures since the chicken has also changed and the burgers look nothing like the pictures in store. That being said, staff are always lovely and the chilli nuggets were really nice. Looking forward to hopefully seeing some changes and coming back in soon :)

Very happy for a fully vegan menu and kind staff, not so happy about the quality of the food. Paid £31 for a wrap, a burger, chips and two portions of onion rings. The onion rings were stringy, soaked in fat and the batter around it to dry. Both the wrap and the burger were doughy, soggy, no crunch or freshness, the bun didn’t feel toasted.

this was delicious, i’m not vegan and don’t usually order vegan food but this has changed my mind on everything!! the food was crunchy, sticky and flavourful. definitely worth ordering again

Gone off this establishment after they went cashless, didn't help it was my birthday and they just shrugged and wouldn't take my cash. Now boycotting. Nobody should be refusing legal tender.

I had high hopes for Owee Vegan, but unfortunately, I was disappointed with the food. The chikn burger was incredibly dry, making it hard to enjoy, and the smash burger lacked any real flavor—it was bland and unmemorable. For the prices they charge, I expected a much higher standard. Sadly, I won't be rushing back anytime soon.

Great service, garlic fried are unreal

Pretty good! The crispy batter around the chicken burgers will certainly satisfy the need for anyone looking for a genuine, southern fried crunchy texture. Mine came loaded with toppings on a vegan brioche style roll. I ordered a side of popcorn chicken too but I was less impressed - either over-fried or the oil in the fryer hasn't been changed for a while. I found the price for a meal fair considering you can get much worse quality for the same price at big burger franchises. Guy at the counter was chilled and happy to serve me. Will definitely come back again when I'm stopping by Bristol!

The food is very good if you fancy a day of fast food, being vegan it is very difficult to recreate fried chicken as perfect as in reality, but here they have achieved it by far. The service was very kind to us. The only thing I would change a little is that sometimes there is a lot of fried smell in the place, but at the end of the day it is normal since it is a fast food place.

Terrible customer service. Slow staff, food collection. Deliberately ignore you when you’re trying to get their attention. Point blank rude. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Overpriced. The same style chicken used in everything, no difference in the taste of foods at all.

Food was really nice. The chick filets were very similar to chicken in taste and very morish. Would recommend. Seating in there isn't great though.

Amazing, it was delicious. Lovely staff and good portion sizes. It's so weird to have so many options as a vegan so took me a while to decide but I would definitely recommend the cauli bites!!

When you pay £10 for just a burger and £14 for a meal, there is expectation of quality. To get a burger and the chicken isn't a whole breast fillet but rather a frozen patty, Cheap plastic cheese and the cheapest bread used for buns. The chips were skinny fries, weren't even cooked fresh and was cold by time I made a 3 mins walk to the office. How do they justify this cost? Please if you want a decent burger at a good price, just go Miss Millies or even KFC or mcdonalds You'll leave more satisfied and save some ££

Great vegan fast food. We went twice in a weekend visit - that tells you all you need to know. Highly recommended.

Love Oowee, love the food and the range of the menu. I will say shrinkflation is hitting HARD - a large fries now is barely a medium a few years ago. It does make it harder to justify the expense, to be honest. Biggest critique is the atmosphere eating in. The door is always off the latch so the door swings open and lets in cold winter air if you’re sat anywhere near the door. If you’re sat by the counter, you can hear the music playing to the customers and also the music they play in the kitchen. Christmas music crossed with prog rock in freezing cold air is not the atmosphere I want for fun dining. Eating in at Oowee diner was kind of like being in a sensory depravation chamber. Still love the food though! PS bring back the shrimp!

Outstanding as always. Incredible food, amazing service, biggup Sam who served me! Was very friendly and politely gave me extra time and space to decide what I wanted, and made sure my chip pot was full! If I had to give some feedback, I would say the customers would benefit from more comfy, comfy cushioned seating whilst waiting. Just one corner cushion doesn’t do Oowee justice! All in all, long live Oowee Vegan!!!

Absolutely god-tier vegan fast food. Everything is cooked and seasoned so well with fresh ingredients. Staff are friendly and relaxed. Wish there was an Oowee in every city!

Buena comida, servicio terrible... En nuestra primera visita hicimos preguntas simples sobre el menú, como el tamaño de la porción. El tipo del mostrador fue grosero y desdeñosamente dijo ‘no sé, ¡sobre este tamaño!’. Se apartó como si no estuviera interesado en responder más preguntas. No estoy seguro de si es algo racial, pero sentí una sensación de hostilidad, tal que comimos rápido y nos fuimos. Además, ningún baño para nuestro hijo (sin pensar en hacer una excepción para un niño de 4 años) lo hizo para una experiencia pobre. ¡Tal vez pruebe la capacitación en diversidad del personal ya que estamos en 2024!

Amazing food, served quickly and staff are friendly. It is a little pricy but worth it for the quality and knowing there won't be any cross contamination :) can't wait to try more.

Friendly staff but the place stank of dirty oil that made it hard to breath. Fries were overcooked and the burger was lukewarm and so full of mayo it was impossible to eat. We all left a lot of food despite being hungry and the food expensive for what it was. Wouldn’t return as not an enjoyable experience or good value for money at all.

Every time I order or eat in from here, the food is fantastic, the staff are amazing and kind and the menu has a wide variety of beautiful vegan treats. Oowee is my favourite place for a treat !

Usually vegan food is trying to be healthy, when really you want something not healthy. This fits that niche. It's like a McDonald's, but everything is vegan and tastes like you want fast food to taste. I haven't had a McDonalds style milkshake (due to lactose intolerance) in so long till I went here.

Moving from London Camden to Bristol we been looking for a place similar to our favourite vegan restaurant Temple of Seitan which makes top tier vegan food. We stumbled across this restaurant which had similar vibes and menu and damn we were not disappointed, we got 2 bacon burgers and a loaded bacon mac and cheese and it was absolutely delicious. We will be coming back here loads of times from now on

I’ve been coming to Oowee regularly for years and it never disappoints: very yummy food and friendly, fast service. I recommend everything on the menu but especially the limited edition Mediterranean lamb dishes, tooooooo good 🤤 So much so that if Oowee doesn’t commit to adding the lamb range to the menu proper forever (“and ever and ever and everrrrrrrrr”) I may have to boycott. Please don’t make me do it! “I’m watching you Wazowski, always watching” 👀

I think I’ve ordered from here more than any takeaway in Bristol! But have never left a review! Amazing food, slaps every single time, have never had a bad experience or anything missing!! Best vegan fast food, always great customer service whenever I go into the restaurant too! 5* 💗💗

I've been enjoying Oowee for years, really tasty options and good service. I especially like a good vegan chicken burger 🍔

One of my fave places to eat in Bristol! The seitan and seasoned breading they serve here is heavenly and the portions are incredibly generous. I had their goujons as I wasn’t too hungry and it came with a choice of two sauces - I got the dirty sauce (could eat this stuff like yoghurt!) and the buffalo sauce (spicy and lemony, with a hint of sweetness). I am a regular customer , in store and via Deliveroo, and will most certainly be back here very soon.

Just an all found great experience. Service was quick and efficient. Everything we tried was nice. Will definitely be going back next time we are in Bristol!

I love Vegan Oowee. The ‘Chkn’ burger is really tasty and all the options for sides means there’s plenty of choice. The staff are always really friendly too.

Amazing vegan alternatives, perfect place to bring meat eaters too, you can barely feel the difference. It is a bit small inside though and there's no tables for larger groups

Great quick takeout, never disappoints

Tried Oowee Vegan when visiting Bristol and would definitely visit again if I’m ever back. The food and service were amazing, very friendly - we got the chicken wrap and fries. The wrap was the best I’ve ever had (we decided to get another one to go) and there was a really good amount of fries.

Love love love this place. Not local, but whenever we're in Bristol we aim to eat here. Great options. Good quality food that keep the animals as happy as we are :) Highly recommended.

Went in today and was massively disappointed … SIX BRITISH POUNDS for a milkshake that was coffee syrup and bad ice cream. Too sweet and they didn’t even fill up the cup properly (3/4ths full) and top it of the gentleman at the counter was quite abrupt . Very sad .

Lovely food, friendly staff and quick service!

The service very pleasant and sweet but that’s about it for oowee vegan branch. Considering that vegan food can still heavily rely on vegetables, burgers only had tiny shreds of lettuce. No tomato, no pickle in sight making it a rather lumpy brick of potato in a bun with no flavour. None of the layers in our burgers had any seasoning to it and a portion of dirty chips were only decent if not covered with weird sweet tasting sauce (wish I knew before ordering). Next thing is the price, for just over £30 for 2 burgers and sharing portion of chips - this is a big disappointment, for let me remind you, awful food. I don’t know if vegan people don’t know any better but this food was terrible and considering we both got sick after, can’t be good for you either. It’s primly take away shop so there is no atmosphere, with your burger buns lying in bag pile on the floor from the customer side. If it wasn’t for these piles, would have been 3 starts for atmosphere, as I said it’s take away not dine in so what do you expect. If this is a representation of vegan street food, well I would be a depressed vegan person myself.

The staff were super friendly and the food was banging! Really fresh lettuce used which is always nice and the fried chicken was really yum! We also got the popcorn milkshake which we thought tasted more like an ice cream waffle cone but it was really nice and a unique flavour I’ve never had in a milkshake before 💚 very vibey music and always packed with people from the looks of it! I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to go here but I’m so glad I did. The chilli cheese bites are unreal, I haven’t had anything like that since before I was vegan and had the Burger King chilli cheese bites, they are exactly the same! I’m honestly obsessed, the chilli cheese bites deserve their own review. The garlic butter fries also so so good! Me and partner came back a week later because we couldn’t stop craving the food since. Also first time I’ve had a strawberry milkshake since going vegan so that was amazing. The strength of flavour did vary between both times I got the same shake but it was still good either way. I got the gravy for my plain fries the second time and it is so good! It reminded me of KFC gravy. The one thing I didn’t really enjoy was the Mac and cheese, its sauce was more like a mayo base than an actual sauce. But already can’t wait to go back and try a frickle! I tried to order one the other day when I did a collection but I couldn’t find it anywhere. It’s a good job I live 40mins away other wise I’d be here all the time! Seriously got to try it.

Hands down favourite place in Bristol, have been a regular since 2019 and no other vegan place comes close. Unfortunately no hot drinks or toilets on premises but if they added these I would probably never leave.

Could maybe do with some more seating and a toilet, but otherwise a great haunt.

Delicious vegan junk food, conveniently located in a central location in Bristol. This branch of Oowee shows those other fast-food chains how food can be done without animal products - KFC might be advertising a boneless banquet box but you can guarantee boneless with Oowee's plant-based offerings! Probably not the best for a dine-in experience - you're much better getting take-out on a nice day and sitting in Castle Park or by the quayside.
