Great tasting food, good chippy, recommend

Chips dry, sausages dry, curry sauce no flavour. Less than poor, I will never go back. Waste of time and money. Rubbish chip shop.

Spur of moment visit, food was ok

Undoubtedly the greatest chippy in Bristol, maybe even England. The quantity of fries is gigantically ginormous and could feed the entirety of crow lane, which it already has because when i buy these chips hundreds of people flock around me to get some. I feel like jesus feeding the five thousand. The salt + vinegar + gravy combo is heavenly. The service is perfect and there is nothing to complain about except for the fact that the amount of chips they give you in a large has been visibly diminishing. Hopefully they will go back to serving the old portions.

Absolutely disgusting the owner should be ashamed of himself..... so arrogant. ....this guy needs to learn quality customer service 🙄 most definitely won't be wasting my time and money in this shop again

Every evening when I go down for chips in the early evening they are always stale and must be left over from lunch time and reheated. Not on considering the price. One would expect freshly cooked items.

Friendly staff..good portions....but recently the curry sauce is a bit salty at the moment 😔

A large chips wouldn't even feed 1 adult. Bought a large for my family.

chips contained mostly of sharp, hard bits and the Clarkson pie was dry.

Went in when they had not been open long. chips were disgusting dried, and many bad ones. Think they were chips from the night time.warmed back up the were wrinkle, dark not hot. Use this shop every few weeks so really disppointed.

Order cheese chips and it arrived plain.

Never had any issues, always enjoyed the food. Nice and fresh. Chip portions have got smaller but a larger feeds 2adults and a child generously.

I was hungry, it was 2.30 pm, I asked for some of my chips separately, and wrap the rest with my fish with extra paper. Told not their policy. I have been banned which is fine as I prefer to go to Southmead Star Fish Bar even though they always have a long queue because they are better in every way they help and respect their customers.

Pretty good apart from the batter on the sausage which was a bit stale. Portion size very good pricing fair and good quick service

Ordered large cod well battered and chips. Batter was crispy and light but thick enough not to fry the fish, which was just perfect, best we have had from anywhere, chips were just as they should be. Highly recommended

Every now and then I treat myself to a. ‘Take-away”. This was excellent, garnished with vinegar, tartar sauce and salt. From now on if I want F/chips this is where I will go.

Purchased pie and chips yesterday approx 3.20 pm when opened at home the chips had been obviously reheated from earlier never had such a disgusting inedible portion of chips before anywhere. rock hard wrinkled with extra sharp edges imagine if that was for a family to share? Mine went into bin will never go there again. Owner got attitude as well.

Genuinely the nicest chippy i’ve ever had! Fish wasn’t huge but it was so tasty and so soft. The chips were lovely and the batter sausages are so thick and flavoursome. Fish came with tartar sauce and it was lovely. Curry sauce was really flavoursome too. My favorite chippy around.

I am really mad and disappointed on the Portion size and how they robbed me out of my money and looking and me funny and pointing at me saying to the other person making me look really stupid I’ve never seen such a little portion size in my life one little scoop for a small bag of chips looking like a cone size as my daughter has problems

Friendly service , great portion sizes nice chips ,fish batter was on the oily side for my personal preference and would prefer to be more crispy but the fish was good

I love Fish and Chips here, they are all fresh and just cooked when I make order. Love Chicken nutgets in this shop as well, much better than Mc actually.

The chips are amazing, the batter on the fish was excellent. The quality of the fish was exceptional. I'd be very happy to eat from here again. My only negative is the cost, I thought £40 for fish and chips for 4 was expensive.

If I could give zero I would. Absolutely disgrace. I have ordered 2 cods and some drinks to go down the beach with my son to each it, I asked for 2 containers as they shoved it into one container, I nicely asked for extra one and explained the situation I was told no. I have to pay for extra container. I have heard some bad things about the man/ owner and I have to say I am disgusted with them and will tell everyone to avoid this place! Not only do they charge absolute fortune now, they have no shame to ask money for extra container which should have come with two portions of cod! Wow well done chippy!

Stopped off by chance when passing for a work trip. The fish was cooked to order - I had a mini fish and it was small but tasted nice and was well cooked. The chips tasted hard and stale and I suspect had been sitting around for a while. It was about 2-3pm so not peak time and maybe that was a factor but I’d rather have waited a bit longer for fresh chips

Best chippy! Always friendly and quick service. Been going here for years. Portion sizes are amazing and good selection of smaller meals too. Never had a bad experience here, will always go back for another cone of chips to make the walk home a bit tastier!

Me went there with my friend and purchased fish/chips and pepsi cans It's fresh , crispy and tasty . But I think the price is not crispy 2 reg cod and 2 med chips with 2pep cans worth nearely £19. Anyway it's a nice experience.

Always great food and generous portion

It looks very nice for a fish and chip shop. I bought a large chips and a regular cod. The regular cod was slightly bigger than my hand. Just enough for two people (or one person depending on appetite) and the large chips was pretty big, shame they were a bit tasteless though. Not the best I’ve tried which is a shame as I heard it was voted one of the top in the past.

The food is good, but since they won prizes for being the best chip shop in Bristol, they have raised their prices and blamed it on several things like COVID-19, even though that doesn't cause massive price rises.

If i could give this place zero stars i would. They wouldn't serve me without a face mask even though i am genuinely exempt for medical reasons which i don't have to explain to them. Disgraceful discrimination. No shop, supermarket or anyone anywhere has refused to serve me before. The world has gone mad.

Covid responsible customers must wear a mask as do the staff. Nice piece of fish with ample chips.

goood food but their service is horrible . massive queue only 2 people and literally took 45 minutes to get a portion of chips . the girl was like sleepy there

Just picked up a medium portion of chips and they looked like they’ve been Warmed up from the night before. Disgusting threw them in the bin. I should of taken notice when they served them I would of refused.

Useless, don't bother ordering from here if you actually want your food to turn up.

The sale didn't go through because the cook demanded that I wear a mask. I explained that I had neurosis and wanted to show proof from the NHS app. He didn't care. I don't discriminate against customers like that, not everyone can wear a mask even if they wanted to. And Mr. Chef, if you are so concerned about your health, I recommend the vaccination point. So I don't recommend it!! -------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------- It was not sold because the cooker asked me mandatory to wear a mask. I explained that I have anxiety and show want evidence from the NHS application. He ignored my proposition. He discriminates customer this way, not everyone can wear a mask even if they wanted to. And if the cooker is so worried about his health, I recommend a vaccination point. So I do not recommend it!!

Absolutely fantastic food. I placed a very large order (80 lots of fish and chips to be precise) for collection at 1pm. They were spot on time and were delicious, they went down a treat. Thanks Henbury Fryer :)

This shop discriminates against disabled people by not allowing those exempt from wearing a facemask into their shop; this goes against the Equality Act 2010 and is indisputably illegal.

Chips are usually 10/10 but way overdone today. 4.45 for 7 pieces of scampi? I'm assuming I got unlucky and had what was left otherwise that's just ridiculous. Was all good though because the mixed race girl working there with black a blue braids is stunning! Should really be on a catwalk, not getting greasy behind a bar.

Normally good however i had fish n chips yesterday and the chips seemed re-cooked some rock solid and i am pregnant and have had severe food poisoning ever since eating them so now in hospital worried for my babies safety.

Disabled and suffered discrimination for not wearing a mask absolute joke of a business. I will be making an official complaint to which the owner doesn't care, would prefer I call the police to advise him of my rights. I didn't call the police as I'm not wasting their time.
