Oowee Vegan in Brighton and Hove

I went to oowee the other day as I am vegan myself and was met with a variety of choice and was helped greatly by a lovely member of staff called Sapphire. She explained the menu to me and picked out ‘the other side chick’ which I really enjoyed. Thank you Sapphire, I will be coming back!

Darryl was a star, great hospitality and the food was amazing. Didn't realise the food was vegan, but it was incredible!

Food menu is fantastic and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. Our only gripe is that the high tables have a ridge around the edge of them and they clearly have not been properly cleaned in quite some time. Plus, when we visited mid March, it was really cold in there. They had a free standing gas fire but the canister had run out.

Great fully vegan fast food. Good range of food and have a Blue Light discount.

Okay ; so it was like the standard takeaway fast food American experience-- except all vegan& is absolutely delicious. I had a vegan chicken burger with really nice french fries and they had ranch dip --which is a plus because you can't usually get ranch especially not vegan ranch, in the UK.

It felt overpriced and not that great. Food was alright but I can have in that price meal for two people. Not that great, staff looked boored and not willing to work there.

Good fast food place. I wasn’t that hungry so we just tried a couple of sides. The vegan chicken tenders were lovely. Mac and cheese with their original sauce were okay, personally not my type of vegan cheese sauce. We paired it with the fried jalapeños which was a upgrade for both items. The fried jalapeños tasted a bit soggy by itself. Service was very friendly. Next time I will try their burgers. I am assuming those are the better choices of their menu.

If I could give this place 6 stars, i would. Absolutely amazing. We had the lunch deal with a burger, a double bacon mac and cheese, and some garlic fries. Everything was honestly so effing good. The garlic butter fries were AMAZING. And the mac and cheese went down an absolute treat. I couldn't get enough of that cheese sauce. It tastes exactly what I remember dirty nacho cheese tasting like. Again, absolutely amazing. Thank you!

Food is great but sometimes can be hit or miss depending on delivery times if ordering through delivery apps.

Hands down the best vegan burgers and dirty fries we have ever had! Great customer service and food was prepared promptly. If we didn't know for certain it was all vegan we would have been very concerned cause the food was that authentic and delicious! Thanks guys. We wandered in just before closing... so lovely to have staff that were still enthusiastic to serve us as if we were the first customer of the day! The chic burger was absolutely banging, converted my partner almost aand I have the mushroom burger which was to dreamy for words

Possibly the worst vegan burger I’ve ever eaten. Look how thin the patty is! The person serving did not mention how thin this portion was. Ultra dissatisfied.

Delightful diner style vegan restaurant with the perfect selection of burgers, dirty fries and the best vegan Mac and cheese. And to top it all, heavenly milkshakes, I highly recommend the biscoff shake. I was hoping to try the Churros but the the portion sizes were so generous I simply couldn't manage, so remember to leave room!!

Very nice vegan fast food stop off for lunch in Brighton. I had a tasty BBQ vegan chicken burger with fries and a drink for £15. A calm alternative to chicken shops.

I went here with a friend of mine who is not vegan, we went in around 2pm, I hate leaving bad reviews as I understand how it affects business, particularly a Vegan business, but I have to say something, I've tried to really hard to like this place I always try the specials as I love seasonal stuff and they look amazing on socials it was not good, we both got the Christmas burger and the Hogroast waffle fries, my burger had a blue piece of plastic (I get it, it happens it put me off) which they resolved very kindly there was *way* to much red cabbage and because there was cold camembart it made the burger cold quite quickly , we both have an in joke "will it finally be good today?" during all this I'm assuming it was a manager and a member of staff who were having a performance review on Facetime, we were very uncomfortable as we could hear everything that was being said, during which the manager got chewed out by I think the area manager for pointing out the bad experiences by other customers it made me raising the issue with my burger awkward as I didn't want to interupt and that they didn't actually care I understand having no office but surely that could of waited, the one good thing was the hog roast fries were quite good and I don't know what it is, maybe it was the time of day or year but I've never really had a good overall expierience. Be wary

We ordered from deliveroo. And OH MY…been vegan for 7 years and this was one of the best vegan meal I’d eaten for a long time. We got the hog roast waffle fries, the flamin hot clucker burger, the big bacon swiss burger, biscoff shake and the oreo doughnut. (Haven’t had the doughnut yet as we’re very full. But it looks divine and it’s bigger than my hand haha). We also shared the waffle fries. The portions are very generous and the flavors are absolutely on point. 10/10 experience. ‘Love at first bite’! Highly recommend!!

Love this place. As a vegan, it’s so hard to find great burger places and this place is just what you need. They do some amazing stuff like cheesy chips with jalapenos and even a vegan smash burger which is so good.

If you have the chance to visit this restaurant, do yourself a favor and go. I’ve been vegan for 10 years and this is by far the best vegan food I’ve ever had (coming from an American.) Also, vegan milkshakes!! So good.

Good value food, nice atmosphere and clean environment. Only criticism is chefs with long hair should wear hairnets to avoid hair in food?

Not my first time. Love it here in Brighton. Took my takeaway order on the till instead of the kiosk as was using a voucher. Couldn’t have been more friendly but also not in-your-face. Perfect. And as for the food. A Big VG & double smash Wow they were delicious. Perfectly prepared & freshly cooked. The background music was great too. Right vibe & right volume. It’s just a great place to get fed !

Good food and the staff are really cool people! Also they had some cool moody jazz playing which set a nice peaceful atmosphere in the place. I'll definitely eat there again next time I'm in Brighton!

InSANE! I was in Brighton overnight and had heard good things about Oowee! so had to try them out. In ordered online, and walked the short distance to pick up my order which was ready for me without waiting. I can’t believe how good vegan alternatives to meat/dairy can be! I’m often disappointed in things like cheese and copycat products of big chain food but I was blown away by Oowee! If Brighton wasn’t so far away I’d be back time & time again!

Service - 4/5 Drinks- 3.5/5 biscoff shake very very good, Oreo a bit strange but not bad Burgers- 3.5/5 good but nothing special, had better elsewhere Dirty fries- 3.5/5 gravy was good Popcorn chicken- 3.5/5 small portions, mainly just crisp but tastes alright Sauces- 4/5 (have to pay👎) good sauces, good options, good portion sizes Price- 2/5 definitely overpriced, £30 for a burger drink and sharing fries

Since going whole food vegan in my late 40s, I've finally become true to myself. But sometimes all I want is tasty junk food served with a smile and a side of uber crispy fries. Great for a trip to the beach on sunny days. They always play good tunes on site and deliveries turn up warm, crispy and feed the soul. Omnivores love it too. Wish they'd ditch their meat site in Bristol though 🤷🏼‍♀️

Usually order takeaway from here but sat in for the first time recently. Delicious as always! Their seasonal menu never lets me down - this time we shared the Mediterranean lamb fries which I have to say are much nicer eating them fresh in store. Everything is bursting with flavour and I love the taste/texture of the vegan chicken burgers 🫶🏼 10/10

Was recommended Oowee by a friend and can honestly say it's the best vegetarian burgers I have ever tried! I love the personal messages that I receive, and I have definitely become a regular. Will not go to any other place for a burger. Massive variety of choice of food and all taste amazing and always recieve still warm. 😊

A decent vegan fast food shack that is better than many I know. Good range of food including better burgers and Mac & Cheese. No milkshakes sadly on our visit. Great that this place is 100% vegan

Been to Oowee a couple of times and ordered from them a few times as well and was impressed each time. Unfortunately the last time I went, the milkshake machine was broken but it didn’t hinder the experience. Myself and all of my friends enjoyed it and they didn’t even know the food was vegan until I told them.

Bit on the pricier side and smaller than expected portions for the price but overall nice quality, no real issues to complain about. Would recommend.

A burger restaurant with a cute name🤣 A set meal is about £20 The drink is aluminum canned soda, and there are quite a few side dishes to choose from. I like the chicken macaroni very much. The sauce is generous and the portion is quite large. The chenna bar and burger are both good. The atmosphere in the store is very happy, the staff is very friendly, and the decoration is very colorful and beautiful to match the celebration. The toilets are clean but not many. It is easy to queue when there are many people. The nearby towns are so beautiful to take pictures of, and it’s fun to wander around.

Have visited twice this year. The food was great and staff were lovely. Haven't been able to have a shake here yet (hence one missing star) - the machine has been broken on both occasions which is most disappointing, especially as I don't live locally. Hopefully third time lucky next time we visit Brighton! We've always managed to get a table inside. There is outdoor seating too. You don't have to wait long for food. There was a 'doodle area' in the middle of the restaurant which kept my 5 year old entertained!

Incredible place to visit! The best meal I have ever had! Definitely worth a visit. My husband is not vegan and also really enjoyed the food here so great for everyone. Food was served quickly and staff were so friendly. We visited two days in a row we loved it that much!

Came here following a weekend at Brighton Pride and was very impressed. Incredible vegan food - the lamb wrap was one of the best food items I have ever purchased. Staff were very friendly and the fast food style restaurant area was clean and beautifully presented. I definitely recommend.

Despite being an eatery, you walk in and it smells like a high end clothes store. Owee does very very good gravy, decidedly a side with their vegan chicken menu, but I get it with the fries. Guilt free eating bathed in neon green.

It’s been 8 months since my below review and we never received our refund or any acknowledgement of what happened. The food took 35 minutes to be prepared even though we were the only people in there. When it arrived, it was completely cold. The staff tried to tell us it had just come out the fryer which was nonsense as you can see everything they are doing. The restaurant took 20+ Deliveroo orders whilst we were sat there, all of which took priority over us. The door was left wide open for all the Deliveroo drivers coming in and out making it cold and windy inside :( When we complained about our food being cold (we were in a rush so couldn’t stay to wait another 30 minutes for it to be remade) we were told we couldn’t receive a refund in the restaurant and would have to email someone at head office for a refund request. The email the staff gave us bounced as it was a fake email address!! We would have given the benefit of the doubt that they were just having a bad night until the email address they provided was fake! I don’t think it’s the staff in Brighton’s fault, I suspect they’ve been given directions to do these things. But as we are needing a refund and we can’t get in touch with anyone, this is the only way we can communicate with them!

We travelled from NW London to visit today, especially on my birthday! And honestly, best food I could have asked for. Absolutely incredible plantbased fast food. I am not vegan but I like to try all the new meat alternatives as my husband is borderline vegan. And this place is impressive! He had the BBQ Stackhouse Beef Burger and it was massive! Smoky, sweet and filling. I opted for a load of sides; I had been told I definitely needed to order the Garlic Butter Waffle Fries and these do not disappoint. Even my 7 year old daughter couldn’t stop eating them. The chick’n tenders are incredibly realistic as were the chilli cheese bites (the cheese was virtually identical to normal cheese). Their sauces/dips are delicious too; highlights were the Baconaise and Dirty Sauce. We also had milkshakes made solely from plantbased ingredients. Again, these were thick, sweet and moresish, just how a thick shake should be. I honestly wish these guys would open a branch in NW London as I fear I maybe travelling to Brighton more often! Oh and a huge thank you to the team there too who were super hospitable and showed amazing customer service. I urge anyone, even if you are not vegan, to try this place!
