O'Neill's in Windsor and Maidenhead

Popped in for n hour or so. Great selection of beers and nice atmosphere.

So I was in Maidenhead last night to watch my beloved Oldham Athletic football team play against Maidenhead United at York Road stadium. So after parking in a nearby Car park I first headed into the The Hoppy Place bar for a pint then I headed on to Stripes Sport bar at Maidenhead United stadium which is a fan bar then I headed on to O'Neil's bar for a quick pint. So I headed into O'Neils as it was near the away end the bar wasn't overly busy but the atmosphere was ok as it started to fill up with us Oldham Athletic fans, Polite and friendly staff, Bar was clean, Toilets were clean, Great pint and you can order drink or food to your table through the app or QR code on top of the menu and your table number is on your table and you can I didn't order food but great menu and something for everyone and saw the food coming out of the kitchen and the food looked and smelled amazing and the food was well presented and it was a cracking pint. Rude staff and not a happy atmosphere. Staff looked miserable and sad 😔. I've experienced this that last two times I have been in there. So I won't be going there anymore which is a shame.

Sides are tiny, burgers not bad, drinks are average, lemonade particularly tasted super diluted, friendly service, super loud guests even though not crowded even though it’s half-time. App is great x

I've been to this pub about twenty times over the years. It is fun when it isn't packed out. The food is usually quite nice, but can be lukewarm sometimes- probably due to the volume of orders. Unfortunately, there is sometimes yobbish behaviour, and a slightly aggressive attitude from visitors in the "garden" area. The gates make you feel you are in prison. The toilets are often nearly flooded as well...and pretty small for such a large pub. It is also almost deafening when packed out. The staff are excellent however, and that is what makes me return every so often, despite occasional yobbishness from the guests. Sorry to leave any negatives. I am just giving my honest feedback.

We visited as a family group for my sons 18th birthday he has autism and so was a different 18th to the usual but I can’t thank the staff enough for helping us make it such an amazing evening for him we did arrowsmith darts and the tall bald man (sorry forgot his name 🙈) was so brilliant with us nothing was too much for him he was informative and very approachable can’t rate him high enough thank you for such an amazing night we will definitely be back

Perfect place to watch sport and for a quick drink opposite the station. The staff are always friendly and fast to serve drinks. Burgers are good or pizzas for a quick bite!

Great pub next to the station. Sports, darts, music, food— everything you need. Staff are friendly and helpful. Can get busy during football, but they do a good job of getting you a drink quickly.

The staff at Maidenhead O’Neills’s are truly the best. They are attentive, hospitable, and always smiling. Even when the pub is rammed during the football! They are always happy to help my partner and I reserve a table or ensure we feel safe in an inclusive pub/sports friendly environment. My partner and I are here weekly and have always felt welcome and safe as a LGBTQ+ couple. I appreciate and adore the staff. They could easily think of us as “just another customer”, but they go out of their way to chat to us and make us feel welcome and at home.

The best pub in Maidenhead, the only pub I’ll drink in that’s in Maidenhead. All the staff are so lovely and always go above and beyond for us no matter what. Great prices and great food couldn’t fault them at all

Me and the family came to play Arrowsmith darts and to stay for dinner for a birthday present for my Daughter. I can’t stress this enough to anyone reading this, make sure EVERYONE brings ID to play darts, one of our guests who’s 23 didn’t have his and was not even allowed to sit and watch us play. You can sit in the bar with a soft drink but you’re not allowed to sit in a booth to watch darts. So we had an hours round trip to go pick up his ID. The staff weren’t very friendly or welcoming at all, throughout our game Ignoring the light you press to order drinks and snacks. We had to go to the bar 4 times, I would understand if it was busy but we were the only ones playing darts and the place was almost empty and considering you only get 1.5 hours to play, you don’t have time to keep going to the bar. The food was just about edible (I’m not sure how you can get Mac and Cheese wrong) and stay away from the Dublin Mule - it was awful!! The birthday girls dinner was the last to come out 20 mins after we had all finished eating. Despite everything the darts was fun and we did really enjoy that part, the place has great potential - it’s just a shame how poorly its run.

Awful experience. Order a drink on the app to our table before closing them. Manager tried to kick us before they came. Complained about the drinks not arriving and he said he had cancel them. But nobody told us. Left the premises with a plastic cup and this rude staff member came out the side gate and smashed the full beer out my hand and claimed assault without me touching her. DONT GO HERE. WISH I COULD GIVE 1 STAR

Second time visiting this pub & it didn’t disappoint, since the last time I came they’ve had a darts remove added & it was cracking, great value & a top laugh, was talked through it by the manager & away we went, we will be back when back in Maidenhead

Visit O’Neill’s on a regular basis with friends/family as we are always made to feel welcome. The food is great, the darts are fun and staff are friendly especially Lisa, Iain, James and Jess. Most recently we have booked to watch football and it’s always been a fun day/evening with a wonderful atmosphere. Cocktails are always a huge hit as well. Highly recommended.

Arrived for England game against Denmark, was instantly greeted by the staff, was made to feel right at home.. its lovely and clean, and Maidenhead is lucky to have a venue like this.

Booked ahead to watch the F1 with a stag do group and we had a great time. Easy to order food and drink through the app to our table, service was quick and staff were friendly. We had a big long table facing the TV so we could all enjoy the race. Food was average, standard rewarded pub grub, reasonable price.

Had a great time visiting my son at O'Neils Maidenhead. Great Ham, egg and chips and excellent beer. Totally recommend.

A poor Guinness for an Irish pub

Great place to watch the sports with plenty of TVs. Happy hour is good value for money on certain taps and wines. A lot Dart boards and a pool table make it a fun outing. Recommended.

Loud and fun on a Friday night as you should expect from a pub like this. Don't go if you want a romantic quiet drink.

A classic location for some beers for the football. I really enjoy the atmosphere as they have multiple areas with ample seating and a new darts area.

Cracking place! Loved it! Two of my old schoolmates and I went to O'Neill's for a night out last Thursday (11th April) to celebrate a birthday, after I asked my brother for advice on where to go to in Maidenhead. He suggested O'Neill's and I must admit I was expecting a grotty old school boozer of sorts. I couldn't have got it more wrong. The 3 of us walked in to find an Aladdin's cave - plenty of those posh electronic dartboard booths at the back, screens everywhere showing sport, and a good crowd in. We were not expecting this and we love our darts. So we hired one of the darts booths for 90 minutes, ordered some lagers, and then some food whilst playing darts (a pizza, chicken wings, and nachos - all very nice), and got incredibly prompt service for the entirety of the evening by a really nice fella called James. The darts, beers (3 pints each), and the food came to 28 quid each for the 3 of us, which seemed very cheap for such an entertaining night out with great service! James was a great host and a real attribute to the place. I really look forward to visiting this place again with my pals, and I can highly recommend it. It really made our night out a lot of fun so thank you for that! Andy.

Booked a table in advance on the app. Arrived a little late but were warmly welcomed and told a table was available. The food selection was very good, including the vegetarian options. Once we placed our order we didn't have to wait too long for the food to arrive. Both meals were excellent, and the beer was crisp and cold. This was our second visit recently and we have had a great experience both times. Well done to all the staff. Great job.

Terrible attitude by staff. Didn’t feel welcome at all. When we said how cold they were we were told to go elsewhere. No reason, no explanation, odd.

Absolutely bloody lovely, enjoyed my time and want to come in again it was opposite m&s and got my dinner on the way home and would recommend it highly to anyone in the surrounding area.

Went again for the launch of O’Neills new ‘digital darts’ concept, Arrowsmiths. Can’t recommend enough. Such a fun time, great service, drinks brought to the oche the whole time, and the tech was faultless and smooth. Definitely book in soon with a group of mates for some great interactive fun and amazing drinks!

Visited O’Neill’s yesterday our local pub with another couple & our 1 year old son to watch the match and some lunch. We called beforehand to check whether to book a table & it’d be ok to bring a 1 year old which they said was fine. However, they failed to let us know all their kids menu was out of stock! When i raised this with the “manager” Lisa, she didnt take accountability & instead said we called “just to watch sports”. I asked whether they serve food at the front “football” area of the pub which she said yes to but proceeded to tell me other people sat in the area havent ordered food. How is that relevant?? Whilst giving her feedback she proceeded to tell me she wont be booking a slot for the darts. She needs lessons in customer service, communication & to be honest James, she’s bad for your business. Ian the other manager was absolutely brilliant. Apologised, took accountability, booked our darts slot, full explanation of how to use it, kept our drinks topped and hospitality was outstanding. The place was undergoing alterations and decorating when we visited. It was a building site that had a smell of dust and paint. Men were working right next to where we were eating! Very nice and friendly staff.

My mates and I come in for some cheeky drinks and even cheekier pool. It's just what we need on a cold Friday evening. They can't play pool to save their lives, but even they can get that glass to their lips...most of the time. Good venue.

Went to Oneills with a large group of us to enjoy the rugby and a bite to eat, ended up staying the whole day! The staff were pleasant and the team seem to all know what they are doing behind the bar, they are very knowledgable on their lagers which they have a great selection and the food was great! I definitely recommend the notorious P.I.G burger and the pepperoni pizza! Will be definitely be coming again. Be back soon.

I like to come here a lot due to the staff’s incredible hospitality, because of this I always feel welcomed and acknowledged, the food is absolutely delicious, not to mention the atmosphere as it really sets the mood. All in all, reviews don’t do this pub Justice, I’d highly recommend coming as it’s my favourite pub, and I can’t wait to come back once I’m back in town.

Dreadful place,drinks served in awful plastic containers,pints were shot measured by at 1/8 of a pint. Welcome was as unfriendly as you can get and locals were foul and abusive to each of us. We left as quick as we could.

Went to watch the rugby with my friends. It was very busy but service was quick and friendly. We had some tapas and burgers, the food came out quick and was great value for money. We will be back for sure!

Staff were friendly, but the food was awful. The pulled pork wrap was all lettuce and the side slaw looked very tired. Had to ask for a dressing for the side salad, won’t be eating in any O’’Neills anytime soon. Charge less than £7.25 or up your game

O'Neill's branches can vary; but I like this one. I've eaten there twice. For a chain, O'Neill's are pretty decent for food, being owned by Mitchell and Butler. The enterprising M&B menu is well carried out at this branch. Both times I had the Whole Food Bowl salad, which is enjoyable and filling. And better here than at other O'Neill's where I've had it. Topped with hot bacon, chicken, and roast cauliflower. Over lots of leafy stuff, beans, plum tomatoes, chopped onions, and other bits and pieces. It comes on a plate, not in a bowl, despite its name. The staff were superb and friendly. The pub goes round a corner and has a variety of tables and mixed decor. Television screens for watching sport.

Not a place I will ever go again. Visited with my family including my 14 year old son. Told we would not be allowed to watch the football after we had bought a round of drinks. Given we had already been there for hours it seemed rather underhand. Refused to refund quoting fake licensing laws. Total joke. I’m not going to say I’m a regular as probably less than once a month but they will lose a lot more in future revenue than this bad will gesture. Win the battle lose the war springs to mind, Will spend my hard earned brass elsewhere suggest you do the same

there is no where better in maidenhead to watch sport without question. Stopped in last night without a booking, caught the game and had a very helpful chat with the manager about booking ahead and leaving comments for which sport was wanted to avoid a clash/disappointment. I cant say i have ever been where i couldn't be accommodated but with the big end of year mix to sports i imagine this will be especially helpful

Went last night to watch the footie, This is my second visit, was funny to see a table of Karen’s moaning to the team as it was busy & they should be served first. FairPlay to the manager on shift handled it like a dream & added a nice bit of comedy to my night whilst watching Liverpool get back to form. Real good pub this one would highly recommend

Grand for a few drinks and sports in general. Asked for leinster champions cup game to be shown recently ,and they said it was football only being put on, got a bemused looks from behind the bar. Found a proper Irish pub near called Portland arms who had it on with sound and no issue

Now apparently serving burger dudes food according to Uber eats, well…. Not sure what the hell I was just delivered but it was way off what burger dudes used to be!! No seeded brioche bun as it used to be and is advertised, instead it was some cheap burger van type bun, dry meat and next to no burger sauce!! Used to come in a branded burger dudes box now it comes in a plastic Toby carvery sweaty container!!! In fact I’d question if it even came from burger dudes, more like the kebab shop next door!! 0 out of 10 unfortunately!!

I am giving O'Neill's Maidenhead several chances. I have complained about things before and I went back to see if its me or just the pub itself. Surely this cannot be me. Date night was once again ruined by O'Neill's. We used the app, so he showed her what we wanted on the app so she can place the order. He did this because he needed to pay cash and that's when he went up to the bar to place the order with Avril. I ordered fries with my food but for some reason, she selected twister fries. No problem with that but when my food arrived, it was cold. I have the habit of knicking a chip while the food is still being placed on the table. It was so cold it tasted like I ordered fries the day before and I decided to have it for breakfast. That is just yuck. So I sent it back immediately. The second batch came back almost the same but extremely crunchy, obviously overcooked. I did not complain about it and just left it to the side. I must admit, I had some but not much. My husband on the other hand ordered the steak with a pepper sauce. Now she did not add this to the order. So when I went to the bar to ask for the sauce, I was told to pay extra for it. The menu does state that it is served with chips and a choice of peppercorn sauce or guinness & cashel blue cheese. The guy, I think he's the manager said that the wording is not quite right and therefore you need to pay for the sauce. At this point I just wanted the sauce for my husband's dry steak. I went to get my purse, when my son said that by the time the sauce gets here, he would have finished. I went back to cancel. I took a picture of the menu as evidence. I also took a screenshot of the actual order on the phone on the app to prove that there would have been no extra charge if we had placed the order on the app using a card. As stated before, I had issues with this very pub and all I got was we are sorry to hear. However I went back there to try again but no this is not right. I am once again disappointed and I have decided that should I ever go back, I would maybe go to watch a game and have a drink because that is about the only thing that they can get right. I would like to know how you are going to say sorry this time.
