Had Sunday lunch here today. It was very nice. Had roast pork, delicious, lovely creamy mash, roast potatoes, nicely cooked vegetables, pipping hot. Good Size portions. Plenty of staff all very attentive/friendly. Would recommend and will return. Recommend you book as very popular. Well done team.

Wanted to try here for a while and we certainly was not disappointed food was absolutely incredible couldn't fault it if we tried, the garlic rib eye platter like nothing I'd ever had before so filling and great value for money and the steak and mac wrap was to die for! Full compliments to the chef best food we have had in a long time. A special mention for Joe who was working on the bar absolute credit to the place lovely guy and handled the evening service like a walk in the park between serving at the bar to waiting on tables and ensuring all guests were happy top guy and lovely place to come for a bite to eat

Can not understand why when I ordered a child’s burger meal & myself cheeseburger meal £13.95, when it came out the only difference between the 2 meals was I had chunky chips child’s meal fries but the burger exactly the same . I was gobsmacked , next time I will have a child’s burger meal

I attended on 16.6.24 along with approx 19 other family members for a pre booked Sunday luch. Amongst us, we had the roast pork, beef, turkey, a combination trio of meats and kids meals. The meals were beautifully presented, amazingly delicious and cooked to perfection. For me, the meat, stuffing, parsnip, carrot, roast potatoes and gravy were on the plate. We were then presented with the other veg of creamed mash, red cabbage, sprouts, broccoli and cauli cheese. We had crackling provided and more gravy on request and without hesistation. The staff were immaculately presented, appeared very hard working as it was busy, always very polite and cheerful. We had a lovely time and would highly recommend. Congratulations to all the staff on having a team that works, who achieve the highest of standards to their customers. I will most definitely be back!!!

My recent visit to One Man's and His Dog Pub was nothing short of a nightmare. Not only was the food burnt beyond recognition, but the manager's behavior was absolutely appalling. When we raised the issue of the inedible food, instead of taking responsibility, he offered a disabled man in our group outside to fight! Disgusted, we decided to leave, only to be followed by the manager shouting obscenities at us as we drove away. The manager himself appeared extremely unkempt, and had I seen him before dining, I wouldn't have set foot in the place. It's clear that he has no regard for customer service or basic hygiene standards. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this establishment at all costs.

Absolutely phenomenal! Bar staff were super friendly, we got talking to Laura, she is super bubbly and friendly. Great selection of drinks, lovely welcoming atmosphere too! Outdoor area is very well presented with plenty of seating available. We ordered a steak and the chicken tikka kebab- they were both out of this world! Cooked to perfection (thanks Nik!), we completely cleared our plates. Thank you so much again to Nik, Ellie and Laura for this unforgettable experience, will definitely be coming back!

We ate here last night for the first time in a while. I wish we'd tried it sooner! Food was lovely, service was great. I had steak, hubby a burger. Both were good. My steak was exactly as ordered.

5th meal here now, tried the steak twice, pie , a takeaway boxes, tikka skewers and I have to say its absolutely divine! Very well priced , staff are brilliant! Think I'll be back Sunday for more

Booked table, pre ordered meals as requested. Food arrived an hour later, was average at best, it is advertised as a steak house but steak didn’t come with steak knives. Waitress was very unfriendly and at times down right rude. Not enough chairs, if anyone went to bar kept being asked if we needed chair. One family booked and walked out because no chairs to eat their meal. Very expensive for pub food. We spent around £130 in food and £60/70 on drinks. Will not be recommending or going again.

New owners have really brought this place up! We were served meals that looked like the chef would eat them themself. Will be back for the steakhouse menu too! Spent so long living a stone’s throw from this pub and just seeing it as drinks only. Seems they’ve expelled the ragtags and brought the place up to its full potential! They are now supplied by a local butcher and even my burger was hand made from that stock! The place now feels like a cosy local, small menu and high quality ingredients. Dog friendly too, the pooch was pleased!

Came for lunch with my cousin on Wednesday 6th of December, i ordered a mixed grill and my cousin ordered fish and chips. I’ve been drinking in the one man and his dog for 16 years and honestly it’s the best mixed grill i’ve ever had in there, my cousin was impressed with hers due the fish being battered fresh in the kitchen, will definitely be eating there again 🔥

Brilliant atmosphere and even better food. Me, my fiancé and son love coming to the dog with family and friends. Keep up the great work Nik and Gee👍👍👍

I wanted to take my mom for some afternoon lunch and I said “why don’t we try the one man it’s under new hands let’s see what the foods like.” As soon as we walked in we were greeted with friendly and very polite bar staff. The pub just feels like a different ora even the toilets smell nice now 😂 It was so nice to see “elderly” couples in there and children in a good atmosphere. Our food came and looked really appetising I had scampi mom had hunters chicken and it was lovely, fresh and actually warm temp food. The manager even took it upon himself to come over and ask how our food was and even said thank you and bye when we left. I would definitely recommend for a nice chilled afternoon meal!

The drinks on pull are not the best of choice. And the Guinness I had was nasty.at them prices you would think it would be half decent

Pretty poor choice of beers to be honest which is obviously not the fault of the staff as it is a Marston's. You are better off finding a decent craft or micropub if you like good quality beer.

Good crispy prawns! I ordered hunters chicken but wanted jacket potatoe but they said they didn’t have potatoes so I then asked for a large salad instead of the side salad it should have come with, the photo is of the salad I picked out, dreadful, I complained about the salad when it arrived but the explanation I got was that it had just come out of the bag, I said I suppose I will have to pick out the rotten bit then. My husband had steak in ale pie, the pastry was rock hard and there was very little meat in the pie. Chips very nice. Very disappointed, will not return and cannot recommend!

Decided to treat the family 18th Sunday we landed found a table no problem! Ordered drinks & food after a 20Minute wait.Only to to be told no card payments cash only! Which alerts my alarm bells straight away! It states WiFi and card payments and neither today! I’m guessing last Sunday when the footie was on it was working ok! Limited drinks only no stella or bottled stuff! TotalWaist of time! Second time I’ve been never again.Call before you visit people.

So trying to phone to book a table is a total joke ..the app is even worse We turned up today only to be refused by security saying not booked ..i explained ive tryied all week but still no good. .seems during lockdown it was all so sad for them but now no customer care at all just in it to make there money back

Very clicky pub and the staff all need personality’s. The management a little rough around the edges which reflects in the establishment. Service for drinks are slow 40 mins roughly between rounds! Cheapest night I’ve had ( 2 drinks lol)

Me and my friend are idiots that decided to go on the coldest day ever,but luckily for us, we had a lovely waitress, Toni, who made us smile even though she was just as cold as us. My friend has a dairy allergy and Toni made sure to pass on to the chef that the adjustment being made to her cowboy burger (taking off the cheese) was an allergy over a preference so he could make sure to keep it separate. She seemed to be the only waitress on at the time and still managed to be attentive to all who came. She made sure orders were taken efficiently and brought quickly. I would definitely recommend coming here again.

We booked a table here weeks ago but when we turned up they still had to bring a table in from indoors?Better yet we got there and ordered a drink, 40 minutes had gone and the drink didn’t arriveWe asked a member of a staff who completely blanked us!We never ended up with a drink and left!Place has gone down the pan! Disgusting!!!!

Excellent service in these covid times. Could not fault the young lady who served us. The chips were the best we have had in a very long time. I am sure we will back very soon. Keep up the good work.

Used to be a brilliant pub,but not now. Manager and staff are not at all helpful. Manager is seldom there,leaving inexperienced staff to run it. Food took ages to come and was awful.complained, were not bothere. Shame could be great with better management.

Lovely pub! Always a great atmosphere, lovely owners and team of staff working! Excellent precautions took for COVID-19 making you feel safe and as normal as can be! Great outdoor space with plenty of benches and park for the kids for a lovely summers day👍🏼

This pub has definitely gone down hill with the new sloppy approach to running it .It may have been refurbed but there is no pride ...A dead tree in a pot dumped at the side by the outside drinking area... drinkers standing on the tables and very often a strong smell of cannabis !!The new management has no pride

Since the refurb and takeover this pub has never been so busy, always full with a great atmosphere! Family friendly, cater to all needs and desires with no questions asked. Quiz night is the night for a good laugh and entertainment mid week and if you’re feeling merry on the weekend comeOn in as there is regular monthly entertainment and a great variety of people in on a weekly basis. Staff are fantastic, friendly, professional and always ready to go that extra mile for customer needs. Overall lovely pub and credit to sue and dan on doing such a great job, would recommend to anybody!!

Have been coming here every week for more than a year for Quiz night which is a very good night....but since new management and refurbishment it has gone down hill....rude staff....unhelpful... always (and I mean always) a problem with food, we order at 7:45 most weeks and are still waiting at least an hour for food..then it's normally wrong or something not available after they have previously put order through (and then don't offer refund of price difference if the replacement is cheaper than the item ordered)...Would 100% stop coming if not for Phil the quiz master he the only thing that keeps us coming back since unfortunately doesn't do quiz elsewhere!!!.

My daughter and I visited at lunchtime for the first time since the refurbishment. I was surprised to see how empty the place was! The decor was lovely however we were very disappointed at the service. As you enter it says a warm welcome awaits you, I didn’t feel that at all. The gentleman that served us was not friendly, I would describe him as completely miserable! This was only the beginning. We ordered our food and I ordered my daughter (she’s 3) a milk. The milk didn’t come to us before the meal or after so I had to ask. Then my daughters burger bun was completely stale, I had to take this back up and the chef happened to come out of the door holding an unlit cigarette, I explained the burger bun and base were hard and knocked on the bread (it was that hard!!) he said it had been under the grill too long (but i feel it was definitely stale) the lady then brought out another burger bun, after I had eaten half of my meal by now!! The new burger bun was an adult size bun, the lady apologised saying they had no more children’s one (because they were all stale is my guess?) My meal was equally disappointing, I had the Yorkshire stack with ‘homemade Yorkshire puddings’ these were definitely not homemade! The carrots were also missing but I really couldn’t be bothered to say anything else at this point! Finally when my daughter got to the end of her milk there was green bits at the bottom, I showed the man and he said ‘oh sorry’ and walked off. Really disappointing visit! I emailed them directly and they replied only to say that the burger bun wasn’t stale and they know this because they come in frozen?! It was totally inedible! Avoid this place!!

Being going for a few months, has a brilliant quiz night on a Wednesday night and the recent refurb has made the experience ever better!

Opening on 16th Nov after a major refurb i thought id give it another go. Went in on a saturday evening with the family for some food...'sorry we only do sides & desserts' On a Saturday!? Left & went to the ivy house,which is great.

Can't fault our visit from ordering food and drink.2 courses for £5 where else do you get such value.pub is superb after refit.prawn cocktail sausage and mash great value well cooked and presented.staff were superb asking how every course was.congratulations to everyone.keep up the good work

Been in everyday since they re opened have had to wait one time for food but it was worth the wait it was well presented and hot and delicious. Certainly not as bad as previous review guess sometimes you cannot please everyone. Well done to all staff and management great improvement on the last previous visits will be certainly be visiting again. See you soon

Just re opened following a refurb so living local thought we would give it another go. What a mistake, whilst new decor is quite nice, and appreciating only been open again for 2 days, there were staff serving on bar who have not been trained to pour a pint of ale, we ordered our food and sat down to listen to everyone complaining about wait on food and then when it did come they all sent it back as cold or asked for a refund. After 45 mins of waiting for our food we had seen and heard enough so got a refund without any attempt of an explanation or apology. This pub needs its locals and will be driving them out the door not in it from what we witnessed tonight and some serious retraining on welcoming customers and providing a good service required.

Visited today with my family, very nice, cosey atmosphere.friendly and helpful bar staff and food was absolutely beautiful. Big improvement from my last visit 12 months ago.

We came in as a group of friends for our tea, we ordered our food at 7:30 the meal eventually arrived at 8:30, there were only about 12 others in the pub having food. There was no garnish on the meals as they had run out of salad?!

This is the last time we’ll come for food . Carvery was second to none have been coming on a Sunday for a while Last few weeks have been declining in food quality. Visited today no carvery just menu dinner ordered 2 beef dinnersand was served a complete plate of tasteless mush only thing edible was the beef

As a regular this pub seems on the brink. For the third Friday in a row no cask beer available. Too few staff as service was incredibly slow even though the pub was half full. Smoking area tables reeked of marijuana. What’s my local becoming?

Visited today after a long time to find the food was back to its best. New owners and new chefs have done a great job! Will be visiting regularly again.

This pub was one of the best in the area. It has now descended into an embarrassment. Clean glassware would improve the drink quality and clearing dirty tables would make a good start at improvement. Food quality is hit and miss, I know they are struggling for chefs, but if you can't deliver the quality then don't do food.

Just been to the dog it looks sad to see it now. Outside areas as rubbish in corners weeds growing unpainted garden furniture. Beer is a bit better. Hope new management can get back to how it was.

Came for a meal and the food took an hour and a half to come out, when it did come out the food was dry and not what we ordered, my daughters meal was meant to have salad sticks instead it came out with half chopped tomato and red onion in chunks, when we mentioned it to the manager who was also acting as the chef he literally shrugged his shoulders and said come back next week and ask for him and he will sort us out, this pub has gone down hill

Came to this local pub for a family meal we were greeted and served by a very cheerful young man he was attentive and kind and ensured my children where also spoke to (which a lot of staff don’t and ignore kids) the food was nice at a very reasonable price I would recommend this place and will definitely be coming back. The member of staff who was kind polite and very helpful was called Tom I just hope he see this and is proud of himself and his managers are aware of how good their staff are

Popped in when voting last week. A little sad at what was available, considering the position (within a well liked and popular un and coming housing estate) A little basic!

Went for lunch with my mum today. We had the two courses for £5- both of us had the hunters chicken followed by apple pie. Chicken was just beautiful, hot but moist, just as it should be. The chips were delicious and, considering it was lunch, portion sizes were right. Apple pie was simply gorgeous, ice cream was too soft but we had taken a long time over the main course. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Overall impression is that the whole place could do with a coat of paint but food & service were great. We will be back.

I did a mystery shop here, over a year ago, and nothing much has changed.

I live within walking distance l have tried it three times today being the latest each time been very disappointed. Today I had hunters chicken it was dreadful the chicken was pure white hard lumps,tasteless as if the chicken had been boiled, the wife had a pie and that was no better. It is a shame because we are pensioners and it would be handy to just walk to instead of having get the car out.

Great Pub! Ordered half from the menu, half from the Carvery. Absolutely excellent! Brilliant staff great service! Highly recommend!

On way back from family get away dropped on this diamond very busy pub lovely staff and amazing manager, the food was to a very high stand great tasty food, was a bit of a wait which was explained to us at the bar but food came out fast & hot and was spot on I would recommend this to all my friends and family to go and eat here great place top notch 5* from me and my family

What a change after our last visit. This time the service was spot on;fast efficient and friendly and the food was excellent. Add to that the superb value, will definitely be resuming regular visits.

Awful! We have eaten at the zone Man and his Dog before and would say normally cheap & cheerful, can’t say that about today. The carvery was the worst we have had. The meat was cut by the rather untidy chef in big chunks like chunks of steak, roast potatoes were soaky, gravy like water. The young waitress was coughing and spluttering everywhere! I will wouldn’t recommend it was very poor. Appreciate it’s a cheap place but the food should be edible.

Just had the most delicious food. Hubbie had the new All Day Breakfast Pie and he said it was full of flavour and new desserts were fantastic too.

As a tradition all the men in the family go over to the pub whilst the women sort the dinner out. Bit sexist I know, but tradition.

What has happened to this pub? Half the food order missing, small portions and useless table service. Shame because it used to be a great little pub.

Came and ordered 2 soup to be told they had none .you have co-op over the car park walk over and get a few tins .meal I had was good well cooked ANd presented .staff fine shAMe we could not get the starter we wanted. There loss.better food than last time a vast improvement

Never been here but decided to give it a try for early evening meal. Ribeye sorry got none. Ham sorry got none. Chips got none. Several other items got none. Pint of Directors. Cloudy so swapped for a pint of something else. Friendly lady serving behind the bar. Workman Covered in silicone entering the kitchen. Toilets grotty mould.

One of my favourite places to eat.. moving to Walsall recently I've tried some places and this is one of the favourites. Affordable prices on food and drinks and the staff work very hard! A few weeks I visited and there was one young lad on the bar on a busy Friday afternoon and he did so well and managed to serve quickly and efficiently. I'd be visiting again :)

Our second visit within 7 days to our local pub.for value for money i.e. 2 courses for £4.95 cannot be beat .i had ham egg and chips .3 slices of tender ham 2 eggs and chips could not be faulted.staff were very attentive and manager came and asked if everything was good which we said was great.if you require a good value lunch cooked and served well please give them your support

We ordered our food from the lunch club menu at 1.30, it was half an hour before the starters were served and this poor standard of service continued throughout the meal. It was 3 o'clock before we were able to leave. If we hadn't paid up front we would have walked out, as a family of people did because they couldn't get served. The staff seemed really miserable. If there was a problem then we should have been made aware of it when we ordered and would have understood the long wait. No apology incidentally. It was very disappointing. What was very good was the food. It was lovely and excellent value.

Plenty of outside and inside space. Good for rainy days or sunny ones. Children's play area for families to enjoy. Pleasant staff with no judgment for how often I am in here.

Popped in this evening for a quiet drink, decided to order food, it came promptly and all of us enjoyed every bite, would definitely recommend and was a nice relaxed atmosphere and staff are lovely and helpful

I haven’t been in this pub for some time, thought I would give it a try again. Surprise surprise, this time they refused to accept my money, a £50 note, no explanation given. The Bank of England £50 note is legal tender in the UK last time I checked.

I had the unfortunate experience of trying to get lunch at this place today We had been recommended by a local resident We arrived and ordered drinks just after12.30 and was told that there was a hours delay on food We deliberated but decided to stay as we didn’t know anywhere else locally After about 1hour 15 mins someone told us that our food was next another 10 + minutes it at last arrived my cheese sandwich was hard on top along with a short black hair!!!!! My friend toasted sandwich was impossible to but it was so hard When I complained they gave me my money back with no apology when I asked to see the manager she tried to make excuses!!! I eventually spoke with the “franchise manager “ who said she would look into it very pleasant lady but not once did anyone apologise!!! I will never return to this pub and suggest other people give it a wide berth

Popped in after a family day out for a Carvery. Asked the chef for a vegetarian option and was very impressed . Well priced food , good atmosphere and friendly staff . We will definately be returning .

Sunday afternoon and a quiet pub in Warsaw,4 adults 5 kids ordering food

Terrible meal, sat outside came for a sunday carvery as advertised to be told its not on today, ordered alternative they didnt have any yorkies ( which are meant to be homemade?), ordered a 3rd time , to say its 45min wait ( for fish & chips) waited hour and 15mins for food to come ,( pub wasnt overly busy plenty of tables empty) when food did come no tarte sauce as staff member had stated it comes with food, asked for salt & vinegar, to be told you cant have it sitting outside!?, used to be a good place for food years ago, shame its gone so downhill

I visited the one man and his dog earlier this evening for food. We chose a table outside to enable us,to take advantage of the fantastic weather. I happened to have a nasty fall when approaching our table due to a paving slab being missing. I felt very embarrassed as my partner had to help me back up and sit along side me while i recovered. I cut and bruised my right leg in the fall.

I visited this pub with my family and hadn’t been in here for years and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was, the food was the usual pub grub but it was fresh and it was hot, the pub and toilets were clean and was very reasonably priced. I would like to give a special shout to a member off staff who went above and beyond, nothing was too much trouble he engaged with my kids, he was polite and presentable a real credit and the pub should be proud that they can say that he works for them and he works very hard as I watched him whilst having my dinner he never stopped.....A big shout out to TOM your amazing keep up the hard work.

Visited for Sunday lunch. Staff very helpful. Me and wife had turkey and beef and the food was first rate. Big compliments to the chef. Will be definitely visiting again very soon.

Took the family out up there as they live 10 mins away

Had a buffet for a large gathering (40 or so). The food was very good, way more than enough to feed the party and reasonably priced. A good all round experience.

Enjoyed a beer in the garden this week, nice atmosphere and busy with drinkers. We ordered some starters from the menu but the food was a little disappointing, just frozen fried and a bit limp.

on 2 occasions we visited, first time we was told no more orders of food was being taken due to a party of 16 so we left, staff had attitude. Second time to be told no carvery as the oven was broken, but everything else is available on the menu, so i went to order sausage stack with yorkshire pudding THEN to be told they have not yorkshire puddings. so that was the last time i take a chance in going there,,, very disappointed

The first time we visited here for lunch (April 2018), I overheard the women behind the bar state to another member of staff that they had put a hold on ordering food because a family party had ordered food,When I asked if I had heard this correctly I was told very sharply "YES", thank you and give me my head back,we left shortly afterwards, Now we tried again a few days ago (Sunday), This time they wasn't doing Sunday lunches because the rotisserie was broke but we were informed that we could order anything else on the menu,My wife opted for the Yorkshire stack (Sausages,mash potatoes and Yorkshire pudding), When I went to order I was told that Yorkshire pudding was off the menu too!!!!!!, So the rest of the menu wasn't available at all,waste of time,Take my advice (Read my other comments on other establishments) and avoid this pub unless you really want to be disappointed.

We usually use the One Man for Lunch , So we booked for mothers day , we booked a table of ten . we all ordered the carvery and the food was spot on , well cooked meat and fresh vegetables , the staff and chef were very friendly , my in laws , who had not been in there before , were well impressed , the food is excellent and I would recommend it to every one .

Quick lunch was what I wanted but unfortunately had to wait an hour for a light bite Hunters Chicken. Chicken...
