One Day in Derby

It was the best place I have ever been to the people were so nice to me there and the food was delicious.

I ordered a takeaway Chinese for my partner’s birthday. We were told 40-45 minutes for delivery. After 3 calls and 2 and a half hours later, they tell us of a system error. Some 45 minutes later, we receive a call blaming us for giving the incorrect delivery address (even though we provide the postcode phonetically on 7 occasions and they read back the exact number of the street). The food finally turns up a full 2 hours and 25 minutes late, by which time we are half way through 2 pizzas we’ve had to cook from frozen. I fully accept these are unusual times and we should be patient and accommodating. But I take exception to being lied to and then expected to take delivery of a birthday dinner that is 2 hours 25 mins late, with the assertion that it was my fault. Surely respect is two-way! An absolute disgrace, totally disrespectful and ruined an already difficult birthday celebration. As I explained over the phone, be honest with customers about expected delays so that they can make up their own minds! If you can’t satisfy orders, don’t take them on the first place.
