Great service We ordered cocktails with Dilan and he explained how they were made a and we loved watching him work!! We had a pizza to share and we really like the new photobooth!!

New owner of this place has really turned things around, food is amazing (if not a little pricey but i’d argue it’s worth it), drinks are great and the pub itself has a nice decor and atmosphere. You won’t find yourself drinking with idiots either, all the patrons are nice and peaceful. You can chat to the owner too, he’s a great guy! 10/10 recommend.

I attended one o four on the last Friday of the month as they hosted a reggae night. The music was from all decades. The food was amazing jerk chicken is a must try. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place for a good night out

Iv never left bad feedback. But, As a strong single white 50 year old, I’m gonna! I loved going here. Always in during day mainly.Food great, music fabulous. Staff are great. I’m always in minding my own business. And enjoyed being able to go out on my own. As I’m independent woman 50 year old. Have and always will treat all people with respect, kindness. As someone who will always backed staff myself, I’d understand the whole storyline first? Or you’ll look like a fool. Mr owner of establishment from April. Discriminating whether it be race, sex and or age. Is a no no! Please don’t forget about your paying customers. Few I’m aware? As we ( customers)go in and drink and eat food. Paying overheads like staff. And to encourage your business growth so you can hire staff. If you choose to discriminate on the basis of a strong woman not excepting appalling rude behaviour. Then be open. Or know the score. If you choose to close your bar not because of the only 6 odd people outside buying drinks in the bar, unable to get food, as there’s only one member of staff actually on premises, getting a chicken and chips( I actually didn’t buy the food and only ate a chip or two) The young gentleman who was working did ask the group to not eat the bag of chips and chicken brought into the outside seating area. But almost gone. So fundamentally as the only staff member on premises and only 6 ish people drinking in the bar, Was more likely to of been told to close up ( as he was actually doing) But choosing to use food to chuck the group out for a bag of chips and chicken ( practically gone) unable to buy food, but would have if available to buy food in bar. But to use chips and chickengate as an excuse to close. Rather than just say that he was closing as not enough business or best practice( staffing levels) Not sure what is your health and safely best practice are? And warrants always the important to staff and customers. To be safe in there environment. If your gonnie ban a lady from your establishment, 2 weeks later you’re absolutely within your right. You’re the Owner. But only me? Iv been in many times after the chicken and chips crazy gang behaviour? Iv never had issues in your premises before. Or anywhere for over 32 years . The rest of the crazy eating food gang are not banned. And your shameful unacceptable ban was mind blowing. As you had said all of us had been banned? No they haven’t. So when I asked for a conversation about the actual situation that happened. And to clarify what Mr owner you’d just saw and allegedly heard on camera ( only You didn’t hear or see the whole thing) And possibly because of an important meeting today, wanted staff smart and all smiles? Well I’m guessing paying customers and good customers are needed as well as staff? To clarify what happened. Your member of staff took umbrage for me calling him out at his behaviour towards myself, that actual night. Pulling a chair away as I sat to finish my drink ( we were leaving) And he was busy packing chairs away. Nothing to do with anything else. This lady actually didn’t do anything wrong. I see the young inexperienced man, did not like a white older Woman asking a question. As the other Black ladies also noticed. Or next time actually , just by saying it’s ok to customers we are empty , I’m the only member of staff. Lady on phones told me to close up? so your closing. Plus health and safety? I am insulted that a member of staff has power to make an owner look daft. Me feel disappointed . . And was this more to do with my ethnicity sex age, with the young only member of staff? I’m asking a legitimate question? I’m allowed to ask that question, as I was the only white customer that evening along with the others that are still going to you place? But as I do, I’ll just positively think ( kids will not believe) I hope you do succeed in your business journey ( truly) and wish the best of success. And accountable questioning the reason for the staff members distain for a lady. The real reason please.

Overpriced food was dry and nothing was cleaned

Today I wanted to go have a beer and this was the only place that welcomed me with a friendly smile since I came with a couple of suitcases because it was before my trip. When I got to the counter I saw that they were serving a very nice beer. cold and I told the bartender to please give me a beer just like that and he gave me the one he was making at the time. In addition to all this, the security guard at the entrance was quite friendly, the place was clean and you know it was the best than when It stopped raining, I told the manager that I knew a way to sit outside and he sent one of the assistants to clean the lights outside so I could sit down. What a great service, I wish there were places that had that kind of attention.

Stayed in Southampton for a night and called in for a drink. Dilan, Charlene and their staff couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. Great choices of beer, cocktails and food. Entertainment and music provided on regular basis. When I return to Southampton, I will definitely be in for a drink or two. Definitely recommend popping in.

Waste of space, tells you on Google that there open, and jolly not when in town. Silly things

Saturday lunch time was absolutely beautiful here. We stopped for some lunch and some cocktails until we set off to go shopping again but ended up not going back to our shopping and staying to spend the rest of our evening here also. The tram are so welcoming, the food was freshly made absolutely delicious and so different from anywhere else around here. The cocktails were freshly made no pre poured mixes it was so nice. We definitely will be back with some of our friends! Great management and team! Well done everyone!

It’s been a while but it was a bit of a favourite for food, soft drinks, and outdoor seating by the park. My dog used to sit outside with me.

Gone downhill over the years not a pub I will visit again

Called in for a drink after my recent graduation ceremony - the manager couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. Even offered to try and find extra staff to stay open longer/make us food! If I return to Southampton, I’ll definitely be back in.

The new management have stepped up, the place is now superb and getting better all the time with loads of awesome stuff going on. The food is also incredible.

Visited Friday, 12th April 2024. Time 13:30. Sri lankan chicken curry, garlic bread,Frank's wings spice sauce. choice of sauces. Approx 12 wings.one bottle alcohol free beer. All £30. Wonderful taste,spices still lighting me up after eating it. Good presentation. Good service. Low occupancy at time of visit. Good experience. Reviews are up and down. Throughout Time scale. At One 0 Four everything was great. The place looked nice and cozy. The food tasted amazing, made with fresh ingredients. They had lots of drinks to choose from, all very good. The service was excellent too—everyone was friendly and made us feel welcome.Plus, it's dog-friendly, so we can't wait to go back with our furry friend!

I went to the One O Four with my partner to have a nice weekend dinner, which went exceptionally well. The hosts Dilan and Charlene were very cordial. They made our time there more enjoyable. The food and drinks were amazing. I didn’t expect the spices work as well as they did. Anyone after proper spicy twist to British staples such as fish and chips should certainly visit.

I came here for lunch with my son, he is autistic with high needs so I was a little worried how he’d be but how wrong was I!! I’ve never been to a place that was so accommodating toward his needs, they were so lovely and kind. They put things into place for him to feel more comfortable, which was amazing! There was no judgements and he loved the people that ran it, Dilan and his wife. They took time out of their day to talk to him and even play with him when he was getting upset. I can not tell you how amazing this place was. To top it off their food was to die for!! It was delicious!! This place is outstanding and inclusive for all needs. Highly recommend. Thank you so much for the best afternoon.

Absolutely delicious food a thoroughly enjoyable venue to be in. Under new management a lot of changes and the food menu is freshly cooked, as well as the cocktails being made fresh in front of you. Check out Saturday nights if you are looking for a late night vibe. Or catch their brunch, lunch or dinner menu its definitely not one to be missed!

This bar has had its ups and downs with prior management but they finally got someone who's expirenced and qualified for the job. The new owner, Dilan has turned Bar o four into the pub it deserves. The food is fantastic. Best Asian fusion chicken burger I've ever had. The sausage and mash is also a spectacular dish. I'm happy after with the new changes and the new kitchen and so would you. If you had a bad issue in the past, give it another chance, and you won't regret it. Shout out to the best bartender Kyle 🙌

Customer service was appalling guess we wasnt the usual type as was made to wait for like 8 people to be served before us even tho when we went to the bar there was just 1 person in front of us. Then had to go around people to get our drinks as she left them in a different place. Definitely will not be visiting again

I’m not dissing the place but, don’t dink in the afternoon, for the price I’d expect the beer to be fresh, the guy behind the bar offered to replace the line pint, and did however the next was exactly the same, think they should pull off a few b4 serving, the situation may be different when it’s busy just unfortunate timing I guess

Manager was super friendly and helpful when unsure on drinks choice. Bar staff were quick and patient with the amount of people in the bar at the time.

Brilliant night out for our work Do/leaving do for our Assistant Locality Manager. Looked great in the corner they reserved for us and decorated with the party buntings and balloons we provided. Cheers Paul, Damien and all the bar staff and door guys we all had a great and enjoyable time. Thanks again from all the supports workers and management teams who came.

Will not be going to this place again! Went to a private party at this venue, my partner was in the ladies toilet when 2 male staff barged in. This made my partner feel extremely anxious and when she questioned them she was told ' I am staff I do the f@#k I like' . When told they were out of order and shouldve knocked first she was told she was a mouthy c@#t!.... when she complained to the manager they were laughing in the background!.... absolutely disgraceful! You don't treat paying customers like that... definitely will not be entering that venue again!

The worst music that I've ever heard in my life, and I wouldn't mind it as much of it wouldn't be SO LOUD. My whole visit there (and it wasn't more than 15 min) I suffered immensely. Never again

Well less than a dozen people on a Friday night yep it's only 9pm but place used to be a lot busier. £4.70 for a pint of thatchers not a great pint but drinkable needs to be cooler. Worth a quick one on a pub crawl

Really good food. Cocktails are very well priced and are a good size. Very happy. To top it off, the staff are friendly and the place has a very chilled vibe. Had the burger which was really good and worked my way through the cocktail menu. For a Saturday, the prices were the best around. 👌

With a friend visiting Sothampton today we discovered this tastefully decorated venue offering a bottle of a delectable NZ sauvignon blanc. The pub and fooderie, seems to have just re-opened post pan-demic, so imagined it will be enormoursly popular now. Wished I lived closer, but will return when in Southampton

I have noticed recently that there have been some good improvements to the place since my last review threes weeks ago. I wasn’t positive in the decoration of the place. I didn’t want to be negative but I believe in being honest. The outside is looking much better than before. Freshly painted and clean windows. Having seen many episodes of “Hotel Inspector” on tv, it is how a place is presented that makes a big difference to potential customers. There’s a lot of competition in the city and every little difference means a lot. More positivity to come….

Just been in for drinks really disgusted with my experience. We loved going to this place will never return. Young girl spent more time chatting to loud swearing lads with really abusing language. . I think one was on drugs should of been thrown out. We would have had spent more money in this place. Threatening behaviour. This place will not last if things don’t change

Drinks were okay, nothing special. Mainly premixed stuff but the toilets are disgusting. Be careful locking the toilet door as some don’t have handles to open it from inside and because they’ve been painted, the door are quite stiff. Hand sanitiser hanging off the wall, hand driers didn’t work, door propped open with a bin. Not a great place

Half the ingredients for cocktails missing, no prices on the cocktail menu? Venue just felt dirty. Was told upon entering they don't do food but when you go to the website the only menus that are displayed are for food? Plug sockets hanging off the wall. Only saving grace is they did do table service and did deliver our drinks quickly which is why its 2 stars and not 1. We won't be returning.

Great pub. It's just a pity that they serve Pepsi Max with whiskey.

no COVID track and trace app to scan when I visited. Drinks awful - ordered a vodka which tasted like a supermarket own brand with a pineapple juice that was brown and frothy! Wouldn't mind if priced accordingly and cheaply but came to almost £8 for a double! Would suggest going over the road to Slug & Lettuce for better quality drinks at better prices and some COVID measures. Also seemed quite rowdy. (Again, during COVID, where were the staff checking mixing between tables etc)? Grim place. Avoid!

My point was the worst I have ever had

Food terrible. Cold and undercooked.

So so. Visited last week choice of draught beer poor as a number of largers weren't on. Only one member of staff on who couldn't hope to control the loutish lads ignoring the one-way system to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
