Olive are consistently outstanding in both food and service. The staff there always make you feel very welcome and looked after, and the food is exceptional. So many different styles of dish and flavours, and none have yet to dissapoint. Highly recommended.

Best Indian I’ve ever had!! Every time I have visited The Olive I have thoroughly enjoyed myself. The food was so flavoursome and absolutely delicious! And the service was fantastic - staff were super lovely. I’m still thinking about my meal from yesterday and how delicious it was!

Olive restaurant excellent venue for a evening night out. All the team at the Olive are all very polite and welcoming especially Hamad ( Dunstable ). Excellent choice on the menu, the food is very good and presented to a high standard. Decor at the Olive is very soothing.

A very nice restaurant in the heart of Hemel Hempstead. I went on a Tuesday evening and they had their gourmet menu. Any starter, any main dish and either rice or nan. They also let you choose any rice which some restaurants gourmet don't allow. My only concern would be that my chicken tikka puree hardly had any chicken in it. But otherwise the overall meal was good and value for money.

Unique and tasty twist on Indian cuisine. Really interesting and different menu although everything you would expect to see on an Indian menu is also on there. Delicious modern Indian food in a nice setting and great service. Absolutely love this restaurant. Food is amazing.

Attended for my husbands birthday, was 15 of us. Staff was very attentive and patient with a large group. Food was amazing as usual and is 100% the best Indian restaurant in Hemel!

Finally found a good local Indian! I’ve tried quite a few and this is the best so far. Had a takeaway and although it was a long wait, it was worth it. Good portion sizes (I think I have enough for 3 nights!) I’m vegetarian and they have many veg options unlike other places. They also listened to my comment of ‘mild’. I recommend and will dine in at some point.

Excellent food and service. Great value from the Monday night special meal deal. The staff were great with my daughters and made them feel very welcome. The chicken dhansak and Naan breads were particularly good. Thanks!

First time using this restaurant. Honestly the best Indian food I've had in years. The madras was perfect as were the king prawns all the starters. Great service, lovely people. I can't recommend them enough!

Found through trip advisor and we weren’t left disappointed. Warm welcome, attentive polite staff and fantastic food. The choice of dishes and drinks available was amazing and the quality of the food was some of the best I have had. When we are back in the area we will return for sure.

What a fantastic meal! I have eaten Indian food all my life but after coming here for dinner I feel like I now know what real Indian food tastes like. Everything was prepared fresh and cooked to perfection. I cannot rave about the meal enough. I wish this restaurant was closer to my home. I would be ordering from here all the time. We visited the Olive this evening on a banquet night which is £16 for two courses and side dishes. The place was busy with a great atmosphere. Staff were welcoming and attentive, even with the restaurant full. The food was amazing - tasting fresh and spicy. The poppadum chutney tray is delicious - the best we have tasted. This is the 4th visit to Olive and have had a good meal and experience each time. I recommend eating here if you get the chance.

Went with my 2 children aged 7 & 10 for the first time today. Heard lots of good things about this restaurant. It was banquet night so was £14.95pp for 5 stunning courses. The children absolutely love the food. The restaurant was very stylish and immaculate. The staff were lovely and very accommodating and I almost felt at home in there it’s beautiful. The calamari starter was the best starter I’ve ever had and was cooked to perfection. We also had the potato & spinach for a starter which was also lovely. For mains I had a lamb tikka masala and the lamb fell apart, it’s the best lamb tikka I have ever eaten ot was so tender. The children’s chicken tikka masala was also a hit and cooked to perfection. It got really busy by 18.30 so I’d strongly advise pre booking as we did. It was that lovely that whilst we were there I booked to come back with the children next week and we are bringing family too. Massive thank you to the chef and the staff I couldn’t fault or say one bad thing this evening.

This restaurant was recommended to us and it did not disappoint, the food is excellent plus the service is exactly as you want it They are attentive but not overbearing. Will definitely be returning.

Found this place on the way to somewhere else and I’m an so glad we went here instead of are usual place. What a find it was. The food was amazing out of this world the flavours omg and I can just taste this now as I’m typing think I pay another visit tonight. I had the lamb cutlet and they was cooked and flavoured to perfection , I highly recommend this place and not to forget the staff they was amazing too very helpful polite and very professional

Arrived late on a Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised that there was a table available for 4 of us. Staff very welcoming and attentive despite the restaurant being busy. Menu has an excellent range of Indian meals and reasonably priced. Food very tastes and served quickly. The premises is tastefully decorated and has spotless toilets. Highly recommended.

Visited olive Indian this evening for their fantastic gourmet menu option and the experience was fantastic. We had two 3 year olds with us and the staff couldn't be more patient and accommodating. Food absolutely excellent and plenty of it. Can't recommend it enough. Best Indian in the area. 6 stars. Few more vegan options would be my only comment

Olive used to be our go-to Indian in Hemel, but we were very disappointed with our meal. We ordered lamb tikka rogan Josh and chicken tikka butter chicken; neither of which were tikka. The butter chicken was very oily and wasn’t pleasant. Everything was distinctly average, bland. Have to say we won’t be ordering again, which is a big shame. Not sure if the chef has changed or if it’s just gone downhill.

Interesting curries such as the Vindaloo that got my taste buds tingling and dancing. The vindaloo was the highlight of my night, a rave of rich curry with chicken that was lip smacking I knew I enjoyed the dhansak when every bite became addictive, these naans went perfect with it, such a wholesome meal that got me feeling nice and cosy, not too much heat in the Dhansak yet comes packed with robust flavours I suggest Vindaloo for the spice lovers, it is necessary to order. I suggest Dhansak with Naan to ALL. Chicken Tikka Biryaani was lovely too and that goes well with any curry. I recommend this restaurant FOR SURE, my family all enjoyed it and would love to go visit and dine in next time round!

Wow I have no words. I am speechless. I am still trying to forget the sensational taste the food has left on my tongue. How will anything else ever satisfy my taste buds after what I just tasted from olive Indian restaurant today? I am in love! This was my first time trying food from here as it’s quite far from me, but now I can never try Indian food from anywhere else, I had the chicken dansak, the chicken biryani and the chicken vindaloo, and a plain naan… my oh my! It was like a wonderful dream, every bite was full of intense flavour and heat, I loved it so much I wanted to cry. I got up and helped myself to a little bit more because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to it just yet. I wanted to keep eating it and did not want to stop. I felt passionate love for it. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this way about any other food. I have officially found the meal I could eat unlimitedly without getting sick of it. If I was on death row this would be my last meal. My sisters husband got it for her but as it was late at night she only had like a little spoon of each dish, I feel sorry for her because as hard as I tried to save more for her I just couldn’t, I ate most of it myself and put some aside for my husband so he can get a taste of it and get hooked onto it and be willing to make the 1hr journey to Hemel Hampstead to get the best Indian food ever and satisfy my craving. Thank you Ahad for introducing me to the olive restaurant. I have a feeling this is the beginning of a great love story between the dansak and me.

Historically been good, last couple of times, food has been terrible, paid for two dishes and they have spread a single dish across two serving containers, food looked like leftovers and the salad was stale and unfit for human consumption, never using this restaurant again, shame really

Ordered from here this evening as stuck at home with covid. In my befuddled state accidentally clicked Collect instead of Deliver. When the team called to ask why I hadn't collected, I was mortified and explained I needed the food delivered. The restaurant couldn't have been nicer but given it was a Saturday night and my mistake I expected cold food to arrive an hour later. Amazed to hear the doorbell 10 mins later. The food was hot and looked delicious. Obviously with covid I couldn't smell or taste it but the texture was lovely and the food beautifully presented. I'll definitely order again and am super impressed with this service ethic.

This review is purely on cost , I have been using the olive for years , I ordered my regular take away by phone they new who I was instantly ordered happy days until he told me the price ? This was ridiculous so off the phone checked the menu price on the website and seemed they got this wrong !!!! Called them to challenge and was told it’s restaurant price fobbed off with all sorts of excuses am furious as a consistent good customer I will not be ordering again from the olive and advise that who ever is reading this doesn’t either way to big for their boots !!!!!!
