Everytime we go it is a little bit slow to get a drink order and food order but it is worth the wait as I still go back everytime. The food is excellent and look forward to it all day. Even though it can be very slow at times it doesn’t change that the food is fresh and enjoyable.

Stater was raw main was burned and very dry staff were rude never go back again not good value for your Money drinks and food very over priced make staff standing staring may as well me druling at my lady family members DISGUSTING!!

Been here a few times in the past, always easy, used to be cheap n cheerful! Not now. dear me... massive price hike..... I know stuff has gone up but c'mon. ...this is pizzas and pastas here not top drawer cuisine Will be rethinking our quick lunch/tea out next time as it won't be here at these prices. Also do think they stick extra drinks on the bill as it's not itemised you can't tell so they're either over priced too or adding on. Be careful of bill

I have visited O&J at Westerhope many times in recent years and have always found it to be an amazing restaurant . The staff are always very welcoming , friendly and yet professional . The food is excellent and you are never rushed into selecting your choice of food and drinks from their menu . I would certainly recommend a visit here …. you will not be disappointed . If you enjoy good service and good food and drinks at a fair price then visit O&J Westerhope soon .

First visit to Oli & Joes - lovely set up restaurant with a nice atmosphere and very pleasant and attentive staff. I thought being an Italian restaurant, that the pizza would be typically Italian. It arrived and looked just like one I could get out of a supermarket freezer aisle, though they tend to have more flavour. I found it very bland and was quite disappointed if I’m honest. So great staff and service, but food left us a bit flat.

Check your bill. Overcharged £6 and when this was politely raised by myself the gentleman insisted we had ordered off the 3 course menu (we hadn’t) without asking the waitress. If he hadn’t saida second time that we had ordered off 3 course menu I would not have posted this review. Food was good but our experience was very bad. Won’t be back.

I have never been in such a loud restaurant. The noise level of both customers and staff hurt my ears and my husband and I were unable to have a conversation. The food wasn't bad but was overpriced - over £50 for two main courses and two drinks. This is because all sides are charged for. Not an experience We will repeat.

Very very disappointed,we went for family meal for granddaughters Birthday. Took 20mins before we were even asked if we had ordered Drinks,over an hour to get starters for 6 portions of Potatoe Skins, They do 3 Course set meal,same meal portion size etc.Lunchtime,£9.95,evening £16.95 same meals. 1,2,3,4 or5 people can eat for free just pay for your Meal and Drinks,have a 6th person or more 10% surcharge ? Our 90+ years old parents, grand & great grand parents were celebrating 70 years of marriage. Having had a lunchtime visit to the restaurant a few weeks ago, & deciding that this was where they wanted to have a family gathering, the booking was made. The 30ish numbers were confirmed a week before the due day, with peoples choices of luncheon meals, all simple & pain free. Come the big day, the welcome, service, making sure everyone had drinks, and then the meal being served, were all so well done. Marshalled superbly by the lovely Angela and her brilliant, helpful, smiling team of servers. Everyone was most complimentary regarding the various meal choices, ranging from roast Sunday dinners (beef, lamb, & chicken) to pizzas and pasta. Following the meal, with tables cleared promptly, the real socialising continued and more drinks were taken. From the arrival at 12:30 until around 6:30 when the last of us left, the entire day was a lovely celebration of, and for, two amazing people. Thank you to all at Olli & Joe's :-)

Called in with husband for a quick bite took advantage of the happy hour menu we ordered extra garlic bread with cheese and had two cokes, we chose not to have the coffee or the ice cream as we didn’t have time, food was good, but I couldn’t finish my pasta as full, so we asked for the bill it was £31 and pennies so we gave £40 and waited for them to bring the change to leave a tip, and we waited and waited and waited over 10 minutes went by and I said I’m going to the toilet so walked past the counter 4 members of staff chatting so I went came back and asked have you had change yet he advise no so went to counter and said can we have our change please they looked at me and said oh there’s your change and pushed a ready waiting plastic plate with £2.50 on it towards me I advised this is not our change, she said yeah it is I said our bill was £31 odd and we gave you £40 so that’s not right she looked around at the other staff and after a minute debating she turned round and picked up the plate with our £40 still on it and then gave us our correct change what a disgrace it was embarrassing it was like they’d kept us waiting so long that we would just leave (we still left a tip but not what we were going to) the guy also asked when I was finished are you sure you don’t want to take your left overs home then persuaded us to but upon opening the carton at home there was hardly anything in and no garlic bread Food was good but service at end was atrocious not happy to be made to feel this way, we won’t be back

La pareja que vino después de nosotros con una reserva de 1945 se sentaron antes que nosotros porque llegaron primero al banco, toman demasiadas reservas al mismo tiempo, necesitan escalonarlas y también aceptaron entradas fuera de la calle sin reserva que dejamos. Ordered 2 x pastas, large garlic bread and potato skins for collection and was very impressed. It was ready in around 20 minutes and a very friendly chap brought it out to the car. The pastas were absolutely delicious, as was the garlic bread. The skins were a wee bit soggy, but what can you expect after having been in a carton and it being the last thing we unpacked.Not our first time and certainly won't be our last! Just wish I'd gotten some photos before scoffing. Thank you ️

I have not been in any building other than my own house since lockdown in March as I suffer from bad asthma and I'm paranoid about Covid. We always go to Ollie and Joe's for family birthdays so I didn't want to disappoint my son by not going this year and I'm pleased I didn't. The food was lovely as always, the tables have been rearranged to be socially distanced, staff are wearing masks, linen table cloths have been replaced with plastic and every table is thoroughly cleaned after each customer with antibacterial spray. There are numerous hand sanitizers throughout the restaurant and the staff still have their usual bubbly, friendly attitudes. Well done to all the staff we will definitely be back.......... But I'm not ready to go into a supermarket yet lol.

Just had a great meal at O & J's...our 1st since Restaurant reopened after Lock-down. Food was excellent as was service & atmosphere. Social distancing was spot on & masks worn by all staff. Went on just eat and ordered a meal from here . It arrived in a reasonable time and that was the only good thing about the whole experience.My lasagne was in a foil tray and looked like a rock in the middle of a sea of sauce.The lasagne and the sauce where stone cold . I also got a garlic bread and that was cold too.I rang the restaurant to advise them that the meal was cold and uneatable and the woman who answered the phone denied even having the order from just eat.I confirmed this with just eat and as I was on the phone I missed 4 calls from the restaurant and when I rang back a man answered the phone and said he knew nothing about my order and if I was not happy to call back between 9am to 5pm and speak to someone.The staff are rude and disrespectful .

Today we thought we would have a treat from Oli and Joe's our local Italian in which we regularly go and order from. We placed an order through just eat and the order was fast and come before the delivery time. Now on to the food. Normally all the food is delicious and never once had a problem but today it really wasnt up to standard. Fish cake ( which we order quite alot ) had 2 small baby prawns and the fest potatoe, no proper fish and that would of been fine but they just tasted and smelled of vinegar which is really off putting, they ended up in the bin. The Penne Alfono was alright, luckily my daughter still liked it, there was hardly any pasta, hardly any mince and swimming in sauce was almost like a pasta soup. But it did still have plenty of ham in and the sauce was tasty. Everything was pretty Luke harm and had to be heated up, and we do not like far from the restaurant. The cheese garlic bread and potatoe skins were delicious as always just needed heating up which is fine. I know this is a hard time for the restaurant and bad circumstances but we were very disappointed and have never been before. Over all it was alright and would order again in the hope this is just a one off as this is one of our favourite restaurants.

Great spot for Sunday lunch which is great value at £9.95 for 3 courses. Love the belly pork and the homemade cream of mushroom soup was amazing. Will definitely be back!!

Visited oli & joes today at Westerhope, sat ages nearly 20 minutes to get served !!! Waited ages for starters to arrive staff were unorganised today , one waitress that was there why? She didn’t understand English at all !!!! Drinks were taken away before he had finished it, really disappointed will be a long time before we return do not appreciate being treat like cattle!!!!

Love to come here as the food is really good. Always fresh and tasty. The staff are all very friendly and efficient, however, some of the clientele leave a lot to be desired, omg... some common loud mouthed chavs. Unfortunately for Oli n joes this is not a good reputation to have and I know quite a few people who refuse to go there now because of that. If not for that would’ve been 5* from me.

Went for a quick lunch and the restaurant was half empty, we sat down, got our drinks and 3 tables were sat down and all ordered our food before us, we waited about 15 minutes just for our food order to be taken, waited ages and then they brought our mains when we ordered starters, they boxed the starters up and then charged us for them anyway! Shocking service for the restaurant to be empty, usually quite good but wouldn't be rushing back

Ate here on Friday night as a group of about 20. I had the arrabiatta which was absolutely beautiful - my husband & kids all had pizzas and they thoroughly enjoyed them. Everyone else seemed really happy with their meals as well. Only down side is that the service seemed a little slow. This could just be due the fact that it was a busy Friday night though.

Great experience in the side room. It was comfortable; the meal was good and hot. The waiters were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them. We had 8 young children with us and they were very obliging with high chairs and food allergies. Couldn't fault it. Lovely

Absolute daylight robbery on arriving home with my take away meal exactly half of it was missing. I won't be returning. They took my phone number when I ordered my meal but made no attempt to contact me when I rang up to complain.

Lovely little restaurant situated in Westerhope that is the west of the city. Oli and Joe's is a nice little place to get something to eat on the way up to Hadrian's Wall or a stop off from the A1 to the a69, heading west towards Carlisle or or East towards Newcastle. We have found and that the food in the restaurant is lovely and at a very reasonable priced menu. The staff are very helpful even though no they are running round serving on tables. They still have the time to stop and give advice on the facilities in and around Newcastle, Gateshead Metrocentre and Hadrian's Wall. It is basically a very nice warm homely little restaurant with nice prices and and hospitable staff, who are a credit to the northeast many thanks.

We use this restaurant as its easy to walk to for us.It also has a parking area if you want to use your car.The staff are very attentive and are fantastic with children,very helpful with attetion to detail.The restaurant is always clean and the toilets are spotless which is a good sign.The food is just what you get in most Italian food outlets that cater for families.

We booked a reservation for 7 adults & two chilren. We all opted for the set lunch at £9.99 for 3 courses. The minestrone soup was almost a meal in itself. Tasty, seems such a small word to describe it. It had more ' body' to it than Arnold Schwarzennegar. At just £2 extra pp. we all chose sweets from a comprehensive dessert menu. These too didn't fail to be appreciated and satisfy. The staff could not have been more helpful or convivial, than if they had been our actual family.

We visit here regularly & decided it was the best place to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary, as we live locally...we weren't disappointed!! Me and a friend visited for the lunchtime special and since our meal both of us have been vomiting and had bad stomachs !! Our Lunch date has turned into a nightmare of being to unwell to go to our jobs. Food Hygiene clearly needs improved. We won’t be coming again for the risk of getting food poisoning again.

We visit here around once a month. The food is excellent and they have great offers on too. It’s a lovely friendly, warm environment that’s created by the staff and that’s really what makes this place so great. They make a fuss over my daughter and she gets a lolly at the end too. They are very accommodating and always so welcoming. Wish we got the chance to go more often.

Disgusting Microwaved crap AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Always greeted with a warm welcome by lovely friendly staff, the food is always delicious, never had a bad meal there and we've had quite a few as it is very local. The quality and menu choice is second to none and the prices are also great. If you're looking for somewhere to go and enjoy a good quality meal with the kids or celebrate a special occasion that doesn't cost you an arm and a leg then I'd definitely recommend you pop in to Oli & Joe's and guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Went last night 13/09/2019 and had a nice night. Was running late after booking a table so contacted the restaurant they where fine about it. Food was spot on and wine was nice.
