A glorified wetherspoons (I don't mind a spoons). Sorry but £188 for 2 small steaks, 2 bowls of mushrooms and a bottle of wine is scandalous. Mash potatoes were 100% freeze dried and the chimmi whatever sauce that came with the steak my god 😭 however the staff were great 😃 and extra tenner (on top of the £20 gratuity 🤢)

I gave Gaucho a 4 star rating because of the poor service I got from the manager. The food and atmoaphere are amazing. I work right opposite Gaucho in Town Fry. One day we needed some change for the till so we went to Gaucho as they are our neighbour, when I asked the manager at Gaucho for some change he refused and said that we dont keep change which is a lie. Some of Gauchos workers come to us and ask for change and we give change to them. But this one time I asked he refused to give me change, he was very rude and prideful. I told him that his workers always come for change to my business and I give them change. The workers were very embarrased. The manager was very rude to me and he lied to me.

The restaurant was lovely, and I received amazing service from Apo, who asked all the right questions and was very attentive. However, the food was a bit of a letdown. The grilled prawns I received were not what I expected; they tasted nice, but I was surprised at the portion size (see attached picture). The other issue was my steak — I ordered it medium rare, but it was almost raw inside. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice until I was nearly done, as the restaurant is quite dark. I would consider coming back, but if the steak was undercooked again, I’d send it back. Overall, I’d give it 3 stars due to the disappointment with the prawns and steak, but everything else was great.

We payed £227.00 for our meals discussing never payed that much for 2 meals ever in my life ! Daylight robbery I have my own business and I do a lot more than them and I don’t charge that much for what I do no wonder it was empty !!! 😡😡😡

Great steak & wine. Service was smooth. Waiter tried to push and sale drinks when I ordered 2 glass wine but he push and bought a bottle wine instead.

Visited for restaurant week on Friday night and wow it was amazing! The food and service were exceptional. Our server Aaron was attentive and very knowledgeable. Notably also Paige went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and looked after. 10/10

We went to try out Gaucho on Restaurant Week and chose from the set menu. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the starters and desserts were equally fantastic. The staff could not be friendlier and we're happy to talk us through other options on the main menu. The food came quickly and was presented beautifully. The Restaurant itself is fairly new and has a great ambience and design. We're already thinking of when we will return to have an evening meal to try some of the other steaks from their extended menu. Would completely recommend Gaucho to everyone!

The restaurant is very beautiful. Big. There are also seats at the bar. It was a slightly dark evening. Romantic atmosphere. The food is delicious and fresh, the dishes are beautiful and well designed. The service was excellent.

Came for restaurant week, the food was wonderful, the steak melted in your mouth. Staff were very professional and helpful. Bit on the pricey side £15 for one cocktail, £5 for water, £5 for bread etc but was a nice place for a treat or a special occasion.

Treated my husband on his birthday. We were passing thru Newcastle on the way to a wedding. It showed up on google maps as steakhouse closeby. A lovely welcome. Great service. Fillet 200g, sirloin 300g, with spinach x 2, broccoli x 1, mash 1 & chips1 - 1 dessert, 1 coffee -Carafe malbec - €215 inc service . V nice but pricey

Decor and ambiance 10/10. Steak 11/10- fight for top spot woth Ruth Chris. Staff 9/10 - Angela is jolly and made relevant recommendations - one of the best. To improve- veg was hard skinned and not hot. Plates not hot. Staff a bit stretched. Would DEFFO return

Went lastnight (19.07.24) for my stepsons 18th and we were most definitely not disappointed! The food was absolutely beautiful. Our waiter, Apostolos, was amazing. So attentive but not over the top. Always had a smile on his face and just a nice pleasant aura about him. Made us feel very welcome and special. Absolute credit to gaucho. I have got to mention that gaucho is an expensive place typically. However this month they have a 3 courses for 30£ deal on which is great. However you do get what you pay for; If you want a fine dining experience and good memories then i highly recommend this place.

Went for a meal after Graduation and was given a complimentary glass of champagne. The food was perfectly cooked and atmosphere was great. Our waiter Angela was very knowledgeable about the steaks and offered great suggestions for our meals and wine pairings. Would highly recommend

There were 4 of us, plus a toddler who started asleep then was woken up by the smell of the lovely steaks. The food was gorgeous, nothing was too much and Angela, our waitress was super friendly and helpful. Thank you for a lovely time.

Everything was absolutely perfect ! Kamilla was our server and she couldn’t have been better! Even though it was busy (great atmosphere) we didn’t have to wait or try and catch her attention once! Such a smooth lovely experience! Food was amazing! We both got steak! I really want to try the burger each time we go but I saw someone else having steak and just had to go for it again! Glad I did! Kamilla was amazing! She made our first visit here a great experience, recommending dishes and drinks that would compliment the food. Exceptional service, and a great ambiance but it can’t shake the feel of a chain restaurant. The meats/steaks themselves are exceptional (as you’d hope) but sides and starters left a lot to be desired in terms of quality and presentation. The fries in particular were noticeably bad. Overall: Good steak and service. Bad value for money. There are better steak restaurants in Newcastle

We ordered from the set lunch menu earlier this month in Gaucho Newcastle. Food was fabulous and the set menu price was quite reasonable. We were particularly impressed with the service, our server Angela was very helpful and welcoming. Lovely place for a special meal.

I came here with my business partner for lunch. First impression: beautiful restaurant. The deco was stunning. Love the curtains for a bit of privacy. Overall great ambience and our waitress Camile was very professional.

Apostolos is the best waiter and fabulous company, such good service and advice. What a fabulous evening with amazing food, i cant recommend enough. Everything was perfect from the food, to the wine, the cocktail barman, Apo and his impeccable service and the understated elegance. Ive had such a perfect night.

Had a fantastic business dinner at Gaucho. The atmosphere feels elegant and cosy. All the staff was very nice, especially our server Apostolos who made our experience even more pleasant. The meat was very tasty but as a suggestion, I would say that I would like it to be a bit less grilled/burnt flavour.

Had a fantastic meal and drink here with my Dad in the evening. Our waiter Joshua was extremely polite, attentive and chatty. He made the night that extra bit special.

A good atmosphere can’t make up the lack of oomph in their food dishes. Very very expensive for what it is and you’re much better off going to actual steakhouses if you need that hit. Good wine though.

Went here a couple of weeks ago for lunch and as per other Gauchos was fantastic food. Scallops are to die for the steak was cooked perfectly and service was fantastic. Have to say Kamilla is amazing so knowledgeable and friendly she’s an asset to Gaucho will definitely be back. Lunch times are a great time to go as pretty quiet.

One of the best meals I’ve ever had, truly phenomenal steaks and extrovert service from Angela. 10/10 I will definitely recommend.

Beautiful bar / restaurant in Newcastle City centre. Staff are absolutely lovely and drinks + food are beautiful. Popped in over the bank holiday weekend for drinks, sat at the bar. Bradley was extremely helpful and professional, I said to surprise me with a fruity cocktail and I was very pleased with what he made. It looked and tasted beautiful (photos attached) will definitely return and recommend to friends and family

The food and service were great! The waitress Angela, thanks to the fact that she speaks multiple languages, was able to explain things in Italian to my mother who doesn't speak English, so it was a plus to the already more than excellent service.

Me and my partner came having scoured the internet for food that was in the more eventful side. After 30 minutes we stumbled onto this restaurant. Argentinian steakhouse, although neither of us had steak we will be back for it. The menu is amazing filled with well balanced food, fair prices, tasty and fresh. The standout of the restaurant was the service! Our waitress, Angella , was very impressive, patient, helpful, informative and made us super comfortable

The quality of the food and the efficent Service was suberb. our waiter Angela looked after us all night to a high level of service and our glasses were never empty.

Had dinner at Gaucho Newcastle , and love how the atmosphere is classy and warm at the same time. The food was delicious. I don't think I've ever met a Gaucho steak i didn't love. Their cocktails taste so good,Angela attended to us and she was amazing. Made the experience so good, but this is not all manager stop and speak with us , make us feeling so welcome and special! I want to thanks all of them for the wonderful night!

5 of us dined here yesterday for lunch, I wouldn't hurry back, very expensive, steak and chips, that's it, would have loved mushrooms, onions,, nearly dropped through the floor when bill came £315, 4 starters, bread, 5 mains (mine was a salad for £20, 2 cocktails, lime and soda, 3 bottles of beer, waitress was very good, but on the bill they had added £35 service charge, also no heating on, felt cold, I would never go back, I've had nicer meals

Eaten here twice now and both food and service were excellent. Literally the best steak ever and we’ve eaten at a few steak houses. The waiter first time was super helpful and friendly and our waitress this time Kamilla was excellent and helpful too. Good choice of drinks and plenty for non-alcoholic choices. Higher price range but worth it.
