Excelente servicio, buena elección de comida. Limpio y bien situado. Reservado aquí para una obra de Navidad para 8 personas. Había pedido bebidas para a su llegada. El lugar era precioso, limpio y acogedor. Nos dieron a elegir entre varias mesas para elegir. El servicio fue fabuloso y una gran elección del menú. La calidad de la comida era genial y también las cantidades. Sin duda recomendaría y volvería de nuevo.

Reservamos una mesa para 4 ya que era una chica se reúnen un viernes por la noche. La comida era preciosa y los cócteles eran muy impresionantes. Lo único negativo que diría es que la música era muy alta. Fuimos a las 6 pm y se sentía como si estuviéramos en un club nocturno, así que era difícil escucharnos.

Preciosa comida italiana. Pizza, pasta y hamburguesas a un precio razonable. Las chicas compartieron una pizza pepperoni con papas fritas mientras que yo opté por la lingüina de langostino rey. Las comidas eran sabrosas y muy bien presentado. Buena lista de cócteles también

Great food, good service. Couldn't get the app to work to unlock student discount so had to pay full price.

Pizza was really nice, meatballs were also really nice but would have been better if they'd been in the oven to make the meat more tender. The fried cheese ravioli was disappointing, I expected melted cheese inside, but they were dry. The parmesan truffle fries were just crap, hardly any parmesan or truffle, so just bland. The staff were lovely, very attentive and service was quick .

A great place for a quick tea! Decent selection of things on the menu and a really good price. Close to the station too so nice to get something quick before catching a train. Staff were super friendly and helpful too. Would recommend.

Vine a este restaurante hace una semana, y vaya, ¡qué placer! Los cócteles eran fantásticos (2 por 1 todo el día) Mi carbonara estaba absolutamente deliciosa, y probé la pizza de mi amigo con queso de cabra — ¡fue impresionante! El servicio era de primera categoría también. Nuestro camarero realmente se tomó su tiempo para ayudarnos a elegir nuestra comida y bebidas, y todo lo que pedimos resultó ser perfecto. No puedo recordar su nombre, pero sí recuerdo que era polaco y súper amable! Sin duda un lugar que volveré a visitar.

Great food, even better service.

Estuve aquí un par de veces y ha sido fantástico así que decidí volver y qué decepción. El servicio fue impactante, tuve que llamar la atención de alguien después de esperar por 15 minutos sin preguntar si queríamos una bebida, luego nuestra orden fue tomada, mi mamá vino a beber, pero la mía no esperó 5 minutos y dijo que no me dieron mi camarera de bebidas fue y revisó y dijo que no tardará mucho. Una pareja a nuestro lado que vino después de nosotros consiguió allí la comida antes que nosotros esto era más de una hora después de que habíamos estado allí y solo dos pizzas que pedimos le dijo a la camarera y ella dijo que luego iría y comprobar, todavía esperando y nada y tuvimos que ir y preguntar a un camarero en el bar que habíamos estado allí 1 hora 15 minutos sin pizzas todavía. La comida que llegó las pizzas eran encantadoras no puede faltar el sabor de la comida. Una decepción, ya que es un lugar encantador, pero un servicio terrible y una espera tan larga

Went here for food and drinks with a friend before seeing jax jones. It was 2 for one on cocktails, which we tried 3 of all were lovely. We ordered food.. prawn linguine and a burger, mine was beautiful, friend agreed. Everything was lovely, the reason I only gave service a 3 was we asked the staff to look after our drinks that we had just ordered and table while we went to the toilet. We came back and other people where on our table and our drinks nowhere to be seen. It wasn't to busy and I just think it was a little inconsiderate we'd been there a good few hours and they clearly never communicated between each other, so she thought we'd left. They apologised and made us fresh drinks so only a minor blip. Definitely recommend 👌🏻

I chose this restaurant after calling in on spec, the staff were lovely and that made my decision to book for 3 friends on a Sat evening, I also asked for a specific table, and it was so refreshing when we went in and immediately taken to it. We are mature ladies and we’re so impressed by the quality and portions of food! Apart from this and a good happy atmosphere, we were so lucky to have an amazing waiter Mateusz he was so attentive, had our water carafe replenished 3 times without us asking and because two of my friends wanted a specific cocktail not on the menu he also managed to have 2 made. It will be difficuilt to eat in an independent Italian restaurant again as there was no comparison. I did call in again to give a verbal face to face feedback but that was lunchtime so I hope our waiter is recognised by management, I haven’t had such good service in larger established restaurants in a long time. Well done all.

Izquierda... simple Después de una larga espera paciente... al menos 10 minutos para pedir una bebida en el bar, había una persona enfrente pidiendo comida y haciendo muchas preguntas... lo justo. Luego otra persona se acercó al bar, y aunque desafiado el tipo del bar lo sirvió primero, a pesar de que no podía haber ignorado la situación. 2 personas haciendo cola se convirtieron en 3 tal vez no puede contar, o necesitaba gafas. Izquierda, y no volverá. Aconsejará a muchos amigos de Geordie de la misma manera.

I just want to leave a nice review and shout out Leah who works at Central Oven & Shaker. We didn’t have the best experience there, but her service and kindness made it better. We had a table booked for 6PM, when we arrived we were told there was a 40 minute wait. 40 minutes passed by and we were updated by Leah that we were next in line. Another 10 minutes later we saw other people getting served who arrived after us, but still no food. Leah updated us again that the kitchen had actually got our order wrong and therefore had to remake it. We were really glad she updated us as we had been sat waiting for so long and at this point is was 7PM and we had other plans soon after. We eventually got our food at about 7:15PM, 1 hour and 15 minutes after we originally booked. If it wasn’t for Leah we would have complained. She was so kind, helpful and really kept us up to date instead of letting us just sit there wondering what was going on. If it wasn’t for her we would have probably left before the food came. Due to the bad kitchen service we were actually 10 minutes late for a gig we had paid £60 for which was a real shame. Shout out to Leah though!

He comido aquí antes y estaba bien, aunque caro. Mi experiencia la semana pasada no fue genial y ha terminado en un viaje al dentista debido a un crouton ridículamente duro. Ensalada César con pollo y panceta era de £ 16 , un tazón realmente pequeño de hojas sin apenas anchoas, pollo duro y crutones no comestibles (lamentablemente me di cuenta de que no eran comestibles después de que me rompí el diente en uno) Mi grupo de amigos dijo que pizza y pasta estaba bien, pero no muy bien. Las bebidas fueron reemplazadas debido a que el jarabe estaba apagado en el cañón de tiro. El servicio estaba bien, pero nunca volveré aquí.

The booking was for 7 adults to celebrate a graduation .On arrival we were showed to our tables and then waited to order drinks..After studying the menu we all placed orders ,however three of us were told that the lasagne ,seafood linguini and carbannara were not available ,so alternatives were ordered.On arrival of the meals one of our party was not served and the waiter apologised for forgetting to cook the order.He was eventually served 10 mins after we all finished.The staff did not ask us for further drinks and the table remained uncleared right up to us leaving.In my opinion it was very disappointing and not recommended.

Incredibly slow service with very disinterested staff. Table booked for 8pm despite pre orders we did not get our mains until 9:30pm. Had to ask for everything cutlery/drinks/where are mains were. Would not recommend for anything other than drinks as they were nice, but food was very mixed.

Nice food but it's expensive for pizza & pasta , not alot of choice, they charge you extra for garlic mayo too Cocktails are nice and some are 2 for £11 Which isn't bad at all.

Honestly I used to love this place and the food but the menu is absolutely tiny now with barely any options and the food sizes are terrible for the price. Very disappointing! The only plus was the cocktails.

Regularly book a table at this lovely bar to take advantage of the 2-4-1 cocktails and the gorgeous pizzas and always love it. This time was no different- we both got the Goats Cheese and Jam pizza which was gorgeous and tried a few of the new cocktails too! The service was great despite it being quite busy. Would definitely recommend a visit here to anyone in the city.

1st time as part of a large group, table services was good, drinks came very quick, food order was a large one, but came out altogether. Everybody was complimentary of the quality of food.

Visited as a large group on Sat 9th, we hadn’t pre booked a table & there were none available, we did manage to get a small table but whilst there, were really disappointed with the standard of cleanliness, I picked up 3 menus & they were all sticky which is disgusting but when a family left we managed to secure a booth in the window, we were quick to jump into it as there were several of us, however there was no attempt from staff to clean the table, we did it, moving everything up to the bar which they cleared swiftly but no one attempted to clean the table which was pretty disgusting & reinforces why the menus were so bad, maybe a little more attention to standards of cleanliness wouldn’t go amiss, if you’re that poor in the drinks area, I would never attempt to eat here 🤢, the toilets could do with regular inspections too as the hand wash was empty & lol tools needed replenishment!

Lunch and cocktails. Food was excellent (as always) and the service was superb. The cocktails are always fun, and we spoke to the new manager who was lovely The place seems to be back to it's high standards since he took over in the New Year, so we will be back soon to enjoy their food and hospitality.

Visited last Saturday, i had the wild boar ragu which was lovely but not sure it was worth the £16 price tag, my friends had the pizzas and they did look fab and tasted great so they said, cocktails were lush and very strong, staff were lovely too and service was quick, i'd definitely recommed and will visit again.

I brought my Mam here for their Italian afternoon tea as an early Mother's Day treat and it really was a treat! The food was really good quality and the portion sizes were very generous. It was also very reasonably priced at £23pp for the glass of prosecco option. The service could have been a little bit faster (it was match day, and it was very busy in all fairness) but the food absolutely made up for it. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back 😊

Visited Central on Saturday and it was not a great experience. Before I go onto my review , I would just like to say this is not a reflection on the waiting staff as the girl that was serving us was lovely. We arrived at central for around 3.30 and did not actually get our food until around 4.30 and then had a very long wait between starters and mains. It was around 45 mins. The quality of the food was disappointing, we ordered a mini truffle mac and cheese to share and a crispy fried spinach and ricotta ravioli. The mac and cheese lacked flavour- it was full off mozzarella and no seasoning. We felt like it was rubbery and far too chewy. Was definitely not what was described on the menu. The ravioli was a super disappointment. It tasted like a supermarket filled pasta and jar sauce. Was not crispy at all and was definitely not made in house. Though I did feed this back and action was taken. But I really don't think it is okay for restaurants to sell a product that is falsely described on the menu. The pizzas we ordered were okay- once again the quality was poor. Very minimal toppings and A LOT of rocket which was half wilted. The drinks were tasty, but took far to long to arrive. I would not recommend going for the food, if it is for a few drinks it may be okay. But just prepare yourself being there for a very long time.

Central Oven and Shaker is an absolute gem nestled in the heart of the city. My wife and I visited two days after Valentine's Day, and to our delight, they still had their Valentine's cocktail menu available. This thoughtful touch immediately set the tone for a memorable evening. My wife, always eager to try new concoctions, was overjoyed with the selection. The ambiance was vibrant yet cozy, perfect for a romantic pre-dinner drink. While we didn't dine at Central Oven and Shaker on this occasion, the experience left us eagerly anticipating our next visit. The attentive staff and delightful drinks ensure that Central Oven and Shaker remains one of our favorite spots in town. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and enjoyable cocktail experience.

I ordered beef pizza and it was horrible worst pizza that I've ever eaten. Meat was chewy. Too expensive. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone

Food is good if you don't have any allergies or intolerances. Service was slow and they didn't seem to bother much about anything. They mentioned that management has changed and menus will be revamped. I ate my food as I was hungry. The dough balls were served on a bed of unseasoned rocket, not even a bit of olive oil.

Only stayed for a cocktail before heading out. My friend and I both had an Espresso Martini and, we have to say, it was the best we've ever had (and we've had plenty!) Staff friendly. Would definitely go again.

The atmosphere was great and the cocktails are good. The food was sub-par and made it so that I'm unlikely to be rushing back. My pizza was burnt on roughly a quarter of the underside, likely the result of either an inexperienced or inattentive cook; this made it bitter and unpleasant. As service was taking a while I opted to simply eat around it rather than wait for it to be remade. We ordered rosemary and parmesan sweet potato fries and they came entirely plain. This is an understandable mistake so we sent them back and they did add parmesan but there was not a hint of rosemary to be found. They were also soggy with oil and we did not finish them. I also ordered the 'nduja aioli dip' and it was really poor given it cost £2; it came in a little plastic pot as if from a takeaway and tasted exactly like Nando's perinaise, with none of the heat or flavour one would expect of nduja. My wife's carbonara was really good.

This is a lovely place for lunch and cocktails. A very bright atmosphere here! Ask for a nice booth if you can, some of the tables are near the serving hatch and on high chairs - avoid if you can. The portions on the pizza and fries are large, share if needed as you'll never make it to desserts otherwise. If you book a table they give you 1.5 hours which is enough unless you're having lots of cocktails/drinks. Attentive waiters always about and all friendly.

We had a booking for 7:30 and arrived a little early. Got seated straight away and got drinks ordered. Shortly after this we ordered our food from the restaurant week menu- this menu only had a few choices so thought shouldn’t take too long for the food to come out. An hour passed and we still hadn’t got our starters so I asked the manager who apologised and assured us it was 5minutes away. He offered us free drinks which was appreciated. Following starters we waited another hour for mains, I had to ask another manager where our food was. When our mains came we did not get our sides and we were so beyond caring anymore to ask. We got our bill and they had kept the sides on the bill so we had to ask them to remove them. No fault of waiting staff but this was a truly awful experience and will not be rushing back…

I appreciate the weekend of restaurant week is busy. The bar staff were on top of drinks, the waitresses in the central T-shirts were clearly doing their best. However if that was my management team I would advise they didn’t wear white shirts to make them stand out anymore because I would be absolutely mortified people could tell they were supposed to be in charge. The man in the white shirt with a beard in the 3 hours we were stuck in this restaurant waiting on and eating only our main course ran drinks to one table and then complained about how busy it was to other customers, security and the bar staff. I didn’t see the managers at central oven provide any support to the kitchen, clear any tables or care remotely about the service that was being provided. There was no organisation, I’m not sure who our server actually was so the sections were not appropriately shared. It is wild that we had to wait half an hour for our prebooked table, an hour for our pizzas, and an hour to be able to pay and leave whilst senior members of staff were leaning back, complaining, and letting the hourly workers pick up their slack. Potentially the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in Newcastle which is a shame because the food was fine. It wasn’t worth the hour and a half wait but there was nothing wrong with it. There are better Italians in the city, don’t bother coming here if you’re hungry, we certainly won’t be coming back.

We waited over an hour for our food which when it arrived was mediocre to say the least, despite asking the staff where/when the food would arrive they didn’t know but were aware that we had been waiting a long time, we were offered a free beer to compensate for the wait which frankly isn’t enough The music was also overly load and bloody freezing, so cold we ate sat in our coats Sad to say it was an unpleasant and disappointing experience

Ordered food, then waited almost an hour without it appearing. Staff assured me it was “five minutes away” (it wasn’t) and that they were “checking on it” (they weren’t). Ended up leaving and they didn’t even have the decency to offer to comp the drinks. Awful vibes all round.

Staff are friendly but sadly the food is not what it used to be. Mussels were slimy and the bread that accompanied it was soggy and what seemed microwaved. The pasta was undercooked and had to be sent back, the star of the show for this place is the pizza, but unfortunately they have changed the dough recipe. The pizza used to be fantastic and now it’s below average. £5 for a bowl of frozen fries with a bit of truffle oil… have a day off. What a shame this place is as it used to be great.

Delicious pizzas I couldn’t fault them, quick and friendly service. The only downside is the music is very loud, we did go at 4pm on a Saturday before the match so it might not always be that loud however it was a bit annoying having to shout across a sit down meal. I will definitely be returning for food just on a quieter day.

I came in and from the get go, Good vibes, excellent staff who were quick and attentive and also the manager Caity was lovely. Would definitely recommend to anyone passing to pop in for a drink or some good food.

Once a truly great Pizzeria, has unfortunately massively fallen down the pecking order. I’ve been attending Central Oven for many years and has always been a staple in the Napoletana style Pizza world. Excellent produce and made beautifully. Last Saturday I attended before the Newcastle match and immediately recognised the fact there was a totally different chef making the food. The quality was completely off. Pizza was a total different style and no where near the excellence it prior was. It’s unfortunate as it’s no longer worth the money. Explained the issue to management and advised a new full kitchen team and recipe for pizza dough etc. would strongly recommend returning back to the central oven of old. Chef was also absolutely off his face cooking the pizza (problem with an open kitchen) the lad was gurning the whole time. Would say it’s gone from being a 10/10 to now a 3/10 (being generous)

We had booked in to eaten here going off a recommendation from a friend. We had a table booked for 5.15, it was an extremely busy weekend in Newcastle and we were literally only a couple of minutes late arriving at to the restaurant. To be rudely told that because we were late they had given our table away and we'd now have to wait and extra 20 minutes. You couldn't move for people queuing to get to the restaurant and for people at the bar. When we were eventually seated, we were seen within around 5 minutes and our drink order was taken. Shortly followed by our food order. Over an hour passed by and there was no sign of our food. We were sat next to the kitchen and we could see food being brought out and sat waiting for members of staff to come and collect it. We had tickets for a show at the arena and were pushed for time. We got a waitresses attention and asked how long our food would be as we were needing to go. She came back and told us there were four tables still infront of us waiting for their food. We told the waitress we were wanting to cancel our order as we couldn't wait. Whilst she went to get the manager, the two tables next to us told us how one of them had been waiting since 4 for their food and the other table since 5. There was still a huge queue for people coming in for food. We weren't the only table to walk out that night. They had very clearly over booked on this night but we're failing to tell people of the wait time. The kitchen was extremely slow and so was the staff collecting the food from the kitchen. I appreciate that it is a busy time of year but it you could clearly see that they were in over their heads. We walked out without any time to get any other food. I wouldn't recommend eating here if you have somewhere else to be that night. It was disappointing.

The music is very and unexpectedly loud. I don’t think the reviews or information about this place reflect that it is closer to a bar or club then to restaurant/cafe where you can talk while eating. Food is okay and stuff is friendly, but it would be great if more precise clear information about the music and concept of this place was added. This level of noise is something you should be prepared for it really is like you are in a club

Booked a table for our Christmas staff night out with 13 of us. Had such a lovely night, special mention to Caity who made our night even more special with her amazing service, she was so lovely and attentive throughout the full time we were there. Thank you!

7:30pm Saturday night reservation. I spent literally spent 20 minutes perusing the menu. I ordered an item - we’ve run out. Ordered another item - we’ve run out Ordered a third item - we’ve run out. Yes a fourth item - we’ve run out. Appalling that the waitress didn’t even mention this. The pasta that I eventually chose was undercooked. The chips were forgotten and when they arrived cold. We stayed for drinks in the bar afterwards and a rude barman told us our time was up and we must leave. Absolutely shocking experience.

Food was nice. However we did book in advance and they gave up a table with very high chairs right next to the kitchen so was very loud. 3/6 of our guests are short and struggled with the seats and when asked if we could be reseated they said no that they were going to fill up. The waiter forgot the water and forgot the garlic dips. We ate but after our meal there was still two booths free we could have easily used. The cocktails BOGOF offer was good. Be warned prices on menu do not include VAT and you will have 20% VAT added on when you pay the bill. This could be a problem if you are on a budget. The menu really should show the full price of what you are ordering and not doing so isn’t very transparent. Would probably visit again but would book a booth to be more comfortable.

First choice for lunch, whenever we go to Newcastle. Lovely place to eat, nice atmosphere, delicious food and staff are brilliant. Love it!

Had a lovely afternoon tea here, the food was fantastic and there was plenty of it!! We went on a voucher so can't comment on price, but it was more than worth what we paid. The venue looks great. Service was a bit slow and music a bit loud, but overall a fab place to eat and catch up with friends.

Always loved this bar, yet it’s changed so much! We visited last year around June time and it was fabulous. The management, the staff, the atmosphere, everything was just brilliant! But now it feels like a chain has taken over and it just doesn’t feel the same. Still enjoyed our night but we definitely aren’t bursting to get back.

Not one to write reviews but felt this had to be done. We attended for bottomless prosseco brunch which was to last an hour and a half. We were seated by the staff then waited 25 minutes before anybody returned to give us our drinks. So technically we only got an hour, we asked for another bottle of Prosecco (within our timed limit) and were refused as our glasses were full. The staff were not very pleasant and no manners at all, did not make you feel welcome at all. Shall not be returning here, which is a shame as inside the decor is fab and it’s in a great spot. But the staff and service is a big letdown, can’t say I would recommend this place at all.

Stopped off for food and refreshment as I needed to pass a couple of hours before catching a flight. Perhaps I should have chosen somewhere less ‘hip’. The food was average. The calamari starter was itself okay but the accompanying rocket leaves were limp to say the least. Unfortunately my starter arrived at exactly the same time as the main course which wasn’t ideal. I had the steak for a main. The meat was well cooked, good texture and taste. It was however plastered in an unpleasant string cheesy flavoured sauce of strange consistency. Poor choice of beers / ales. No draught real ales. Atmosphere more that if a student union bar than an upscale cocktail bar and restaurant. I’m sure the youngsters like it but for me the food was below par given the price paid.

Visited on Friday night, originally had a booking for a restaurant on the quayside however due to extreme weather we decided to visit here as it was right under our hotel - big mistake. My husband ordered a steak, they got the order wrong and he ended up with the wrong steak (and charged £7 more for the privilege). They fries to go with the steak still hadn't arrived over 15 minutes after the steak was finished. They finally brought them after we chased it up however they were chilli and cheese, when they should have been plain. I returned them to the waitress who acted like it was my fault! We then waited ages again to get plain fries. The fries that came with my meal were so bad! Solid and burnt! The service was not great, no-one came to check if our meal was OK, hence why we had to go find someone to complain about the fries (twice), and the lack of apology was not great either. The only reason it has 1 star is due to it being BOGOF on cocktails.

Pizza was excellent... when it finally arrived. Our server apparently forgot we existed. Other tables, arriving 45 minutes, after we did received food long before we us.

Had a table of 11 booked at last minute which was no issue. Food was delicious and arrived quickly and hot. Kids loved their pizzas. Cocktails good and price was reasonable and in line with most city centre restaurants. Will definitely go back when back in the City

Eating on your own is not a great experience but it's made worse to have to pay for horrible food, over spiced food with foreign objects in it, and told they can't guarantee food won't have this! Not nice will definitely not be going there again, you will be better off going up the road to a lovely little Italian piccini which was the same cost for 2 X a 3 course meal as to the cost for one dish at this place, over priced not good food might of gone on a bad day but they weren't run off their feet and my experience explains why!

Came here once before to have drinks on a night out with a friend, but yesterday night was my first time to eat out here. Booking it on the site was easy and quite straightforward. On the day of the booking, you receive an email to check as to whether you want to cancel or confirm the same. I found it quite convenient - definitely a plus. On entry, (which they have a couple, btw) you will be met by a member of staff to check booking reservations and will usher you to your table and seats. They have a large space to accommodate large parties, and based from observation that night, cater to a large number of guests. They have (from what I saw) 2 bar areas, and a separate loft, to accommodate private events. Service was great. The servers we encountered were quite friendly and always checked in to see if everything was to our liking. They chatted with us for a bit and considering how jam-packed the place was, I liked how they still managed to mingle with us. My husband and I shared a bottle of red wine, and ordered their carbonara and a heat and meat pizza to share. Both dishes were quite delicious, we were so stuffed! The best part was we didn't have to wait long for the food, too! Will definitely come back to try some more of their food - and cocktails! 🥰 Overall great experience!

We called here after being away all day ! Absolutely starving....did not disappoint. Pizzas thin and crispy with plenty toppings. Burgers amazing really meaty and succulent. The frys dry and crispy ! What's not to like. Few drinks and then back home 10 out of 10 👍👍

We came on a Thursday and the staff were really kind and attentive and we were served quickly. We had the margarita pizza and carbonara, and they were both really nice. The food was reasonably priced and there was a huge selection of cocktails and other alcoholic drinks. Would definitely visit again when back in Newcastle.

Great place with lovely pizza and a good kids menu. Unfortunately there didn't appear to be a baby changing table which seemed odd given how kid friendly the place otherwise was.

It is a table service restaurant. The service is slow. One of our orders was mistaken, but they changed. However, pasta dishes had more saucev. than pasta, what is difficult to understand. Portions were poor in size. There are better options around. Do not worth the prices.
