Great value, friendly service. Love the variety on the specials board. The Greek salad starter is a meal on its own! The vegetables served with the main,meals are fantastic.

Ordered via just eat and arrived in 10 minutes, food was delicious really good value for money and really good service look forward to visiting when the restaurant re opens inside

Due to Lockdown I thought I'd try a pizza takeaway following a recommendation from my Son. WOW! It was a Vesuvio. I also ordered a portion of chips too. Delicious, thin crispy crust, cooked to perfection.

Never had a bad evening food is always on point and plentiful We where served by Bianca Arjan the owner and chef this evening Made us so welcome from start to finish Ive got to say having a great restaurant in Ryton and not seeing locals supporting it is unusual even in these times We travel over 35 miles to get here I'd say support it or loose it Thankyou for a great night out And making me those amazing fish cakes See you all soon

La mesa estaba reservada para 7 y nuestro pedido se tomó muy rápidamente. Desafortunadamente, eran alrededor de las 7. 45 cuando llegaron nuestros entrantes, después de que le pregunté a un miembro del personal qué había pasado con nuestro pedido. La comida estuvo bien. Tarifa estándar italiana. Sin embargo, todo el personal fue realmente servicial y atento, verificando si necesitábamos más bebidas, etc. De hecho, sentí pena por el personal, ya que literalmente se quedaron sin palabras debido a la enorme cantidad de comida que tenían que cocinar y servir: restaurante lleno y querido sabe cuántas comidas para llevar. First time visitors. Had the evening special with sea bass and sirloin steak. My steak was the best I have had in years. Definitely will be back. Excellent value and very attentive staff

First time visiting last night. Had the happy hour great price and great quality. The waiters were very friendly and attentive I will definitely be back.

I wouldnt recomend this place. Pizza was bland, tatseless. And you have to play full .price eventhough ordered and picked up during happy hour. I am not going back, disappointing

Super little restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. Great selection of starters, mains and specials. Would strongly recommend the beef loaded skins and the chicken stroganoff. Pizzas also never disappoint! Generous portions at a great value price. The Sunday lunches are also hard to beat. One of the best in the area.

Staff not as friendly, didn't have the right banter or interaction with customers that is needed to guarantee a return. Food .. minestrone soup very thick consistency, lasagne lacked Bolognese.

Visited our local Italian restaurant 1st time since the change of ownership,friendly helpful attentive staff.thoroughly enjoyed our meal which was excellent value for money.Will certainly return.

Restaurant is a little squashed but the food is cheap and cheerful. Good pint of peroni though! Food is tasty and filling and you can have a good night there.

We have used this restaurant quite frequently over the past two years, it has now changed hands from Ollie and Joe's to Signori although the chef/owner is the same, the value for money/choice of the £5.95 lunchtime and £8.95 evening three course special meals is hard to beat. The full menu and specials board offers a good alternative choice to the specials menu. The owner and staff always give a friendly welcome. It is a great facility to have in Ryton.

Used to go to this restaurant all the time and used to be very friendly and welcoming from a young waiter, I used to recommend friends and we often used to come in groups for family events and to eat and have a laugh etc, but now everything has changed, most of the service overall is disappointing and not up to scratch, waitress and waiters stand around like they aren’t even at work and are there to gossip all day. Wouldn’t recommend this place, Michaelangelos along the road seems to be better at the moment but this never used to be the case.

Pleasant enough place, with a fairly traditional Italian restaurant menu, lots of Pizza and Pasta, but a few grill dishes and a couple of interesting items on the specials board. Moderately priced, food was fine, service unfussy. Popular, so booking advised. Beer selection is poor, wine list ok.

Just popped in for a quick meal and enjoyed the experience, chose food from the main menu and the specials board and both were well presented and served without a long wait, staff were friendly and efficient, price for the meal was very well priced, excellent visit

Visited here yesterday for Sunday lunch as a family of 8. Food and price absolutely amazing, service was really good can't remember the girls name she was a real pleasure to talk to but will be back one evening to sample the menu and find her name then. Just have to say how amazing the chef was we had our 2 year old granddaughter with us and off his own back created the most amazing dessert for her nutella pancake. This was a love gesture and she loved it.

Our favourite restaurant was Oli & Joes, recently it has failed to come up to the standard we have previously experienced.

We arrived for our table booked at 7pm for 3 people, to be told that there was no table booked in our name, until luckily another member of staff confirmed our booking. As the restaurant was almost full, the waiter continued to make up a table for us by placing one table for 2 people in front of the walkway from the kitchen to dining area. We obviously would be in the way of the staff trying to serve their customers and secondly, there was no way, 3 people could dine on this table. We asked the question how we would fit, and was told you will manage. We wouldn’t have minded if we had been asked if we could wait, but no explanation or apology offered so we decided to leave and eat elsewhere.......don’t think we coming back here in the near future !!!

My parents and children came with us to this restaurant on Monday night and what a surprise we got the food was brilliant and service was spot on by all of the staff our waiter Harry was very professional and made us feel welcome great night we will be back we are new to the area and will be spending a lot of time in this gem of a restaurant blackboard specials are to die for

Went to this place for food and I can tell you it wasn’t a nice experience. I went with family and friends and it used to be a lovely restaurant about 1 year or so ago and the service was lovely as well as the food but recently I have seen this place go down hill. The staff for a start, don’t seem trained a young lad has no idea how to show good customer service slamming things on the table and taking 20 minutes for anyone to approach for a drink. Not only that when the food came it was freezing cold (literally) some of the food must have been left on the counter whilst the rest was cooking for a while and it was not nice. This was. Family and friends meal that could have been much better with better service from waitress and waiter as well as the kitten with the cold food. This is such a same, this place used to be so nice and welcome but the place seems so different. Unsure I would be back anytime soon. As well as the frozen pizza being taken into the kitchen...

Cheap and cheerful good 3 course meal for £8-95 on special menu choice of starter pizza or pasta ice cream or coffee. The pizzas are always very good the staff are helpful and the music played is good.

Me and my friends and sometimes family used to visit this restaurant quite regularly but recently the atmosphere has gone downhill, the service is lacking. The food was ok can’t complain much about that but not the same without the good atmosphere and service. Maybe we will give this place another try but nothing special now which is disappointing.

We visited for my husbands birthday and had the earlybird menu with steak, 3 courses £12.95. I ordered the bruschetta and asked if i could have mozzarella, to which they asked do you want parmesan or mozzarella like the pizza? I said mozzarella assuming as a warm dish it would be melted... Nope it came grated cold with the tomatoes? Weird. The steak and peppercorn sauce was excellent but why garnish peppercorn sauce with iceberg lettuce salad? Weird. I upgraded to sticky toffee pudding for dessert and it was served cold... Weird sticky toffee is never cold? Anyway it was a bit bizarre in places but in part nice. I think there is a lack in understanding on what goes together here but you are probably fine with pizza and pasta. The wine was good and inexpensive.

Went here today for the second Christmas lunch this week! The food is fantastic value for money and the Christmas lunch can’t be beaten. 3 course meal for outstanding value and the drinks aren’t over priced either.

been here many times, atmosphere is really good, we arrived at 6.55 a little early, however we were greeted and seated immediately, drinks were ordered and within a few minutes they arrived, about 5 minutes later the waiter came to take our order.

This place has gone downhill, very poor service when we were in for a party this evening. Rude service all around waiting a long time for drinks and one food order was incorrect... staff then complained and huffed as walked away. Not a friendly atmosphere and very unprofessional. Not like how it used to be, so disappointing.

Ignored by the waiter on arrival (walked straight past us without eye contact...twice!)... After waiting for a few minutes we asked if they had a table... A few vacant tables were pointed at by a rude woman who emerged from the bar. Abruptly given menus when we sat down but not asked if we wanted drinks... Waiter (miserable young lad who clearly received his appalling hospitality training from the rude bar woman) cleared the table next to us, served the people opposite us, but STILL hadn't even acknowledged us! After just over 30 minutes we were STILL waiting to order food and drinks, despite the place having very few customers, so we got up and left. Difficult to believe that such appalling service actually happens!!.. Definitely won't be recommending this place...

Came here for food whilst helping a friend move house. I'd never been before but was really impressed. It was quite busy so you can tell it's popular. We were sat upstairs which was smaller and not as busy. I had the potato skins and then carbonara. They were both really good, I would definitely recommend. The cheesy garlic bread looked and smelled delicious too. Everyone really enjoyed the food, and we had really good service too. It's out of the way for me but can see me coming again when visiting my friends in their new house.

My second visit, my husband’s first. Fab u lous (as Craig on strictly would say) last minute booking but not by any stretch of the imagination a disappointment.

We visit Oli & Joe's in Ryton about once a month, the staff are always super happy & helpful, it's always clean with a good atmosphere. The food is always cooked perfectly & is served piping hot & tastes lovely and fresh.

Been to this place many times; today was different due to the noise of many young children who were not supervised by the adults they were with. Can’t blame the kids - just can’t understand why the grown ups made no effort to control the noise which was clearly an unwelcome distraction for me and others. Also can’t understand why the staff did not have a quiet word with the adults pointing out how the noise was spoiling other diners experience. My kids knew they could enjoy themselves but not at the expense of others. So a disappointing experience today - hoping we just picked the wrong time!

Went there today after walking out of Michaelangelo's in Stella.Different class, good polite service with decent food and better prices.Very nice experience and will definitely be going back.

This was my third visit to this restaurant. On the first visit I had potato skins that were lovely and crisp. So the next time I went for them again, but they were oily and soft. Thinking the chef had a bad day I chose them on this visit and although the waitress assured me they were crisp they were oily and soft again with a pile of soaking wet lettuce on the side. I won’t take the chance again.

Excellent food nd lovely staff . Really goid prices for day lunch or evening . Not much areas for parking . But on main road for bus routes.

Family meal out. Got the 3 course evening special which was excellent value. Good range of vegetarian options too.

Visited Oli and Joes on Easter Sunday. The antipasto was lovely just a huge portion!!! Very nice all the same. The voldanstana chicken and polo Creme were very tasty. Staff were lovely.

Been here 3 times, once as family and twice as couple, the service and food are outstanding & excellent value for money. Midweek value meals are beyond expectations would highly recommend.

Ordered a takeaway for collection this evening after visiting oli and joes numerous times and been very happy with the food.

Overcharged for drinks. Charged twice for the meal which had been paid for by debit card. Phoned up the restaurant but was told I would have to go in person to sort it out. No apology and no attempt at a goodwill gesture. When I checked the amount I had been given, it was short!

its been to long since we visted Ryton, the food was outstanding the service better than ever, we arrived and Diamond escorted us to our table.

I had the pleasure of having being taken for a meal at Ollie& Joes, Ryton last Sunday ,it was 4 pm when we booked .I along with three other guests ordered beef stroganoff which the menu stated was fillet of beef, unfortunately the meat was not fillet steak as you could hardly chew it,both my friends left thier meal, I have had poor meals in this restaurant before and I had not been back for some time but I gave it the benefit of the doubt this time. I will not be going back again.

We came here with a group for a Christmas night out. My starter was fishcakes and chilli sauce. Delicious. Hubby had crispy duck and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had heavenly risotto for mains while hubby had lamb shank which was so tender it fell of the bone. We both enjoyed the deserts. Really lovely meal at good prices. We have been before and will come again. Good food, good wine and friendly, helpful waiting staff

Starter out standing smoked salmon roulede with Marie rose sauce and prawns. Main course traditional Turkey and all the trimmings only £7.95 can not be beaten for value. Staff attentive and efficient and deserved their tip.

Visited here with my wife for her birthday. And was pleasantly surprised with a genuine friendly warm welcome from the staff. I ordered a marinara risotto (smoked salmon, tiger prawns and mussels - from the specials board) which was an absolute pleasure to eat. My wife had a Pizza Quattro Stagione, and having sampled some, was very good also. The food is well prepared and cooked and everything tasted very fresh. The prices are very good also, with 4 of us eating starters and mains, plus a bottle of wine and three beers, overall price was around £85. I’d highly recommend a visit to this friendly restaurant and look forward to my next visit!

This was the first time I visited this restaurant. It had been recommended by my sister and brother-in-law who we went with on this occasion to celebrate my and my sister’s birthday. The staff is friendly and the food was very good. I had a starter from the daily special menu (mussels in a tomatoes sauce with king prawns and chorizo) and for main I had the four season pizza. My husband had the fried calamari and as main he had a seafood risotto. The food was very tasty and freshly cooked. The prices are reasonable, too. This restaurant is a little gem and I don’t quite understand the negative reviews that I have read here. I would recommend this place and would definitely visit again. Thanks.

We live around the corner and visit regularly. We have also had a few family parties here and find the staff helpful and accomadating. Italian fare, cooked to a lovely standard, always enjoyable and pleasant. I tend to order the same things in Italian Restaurants, Napoli pizza usually, but I have had other dishes here including steak. It has always been cooked as I've asked for it, and the peppercorn sauce is the best I've had. The happy our specials are good value for money. I would recommend sharing the potato skins and bruschetta between two (eat the skins on your own and you will never finish the main course) then Napoli pizza or carbonora.

Where to begin !!! A group of us went for a meal here and ordered in advance from the Christmas menu. The room was warm and comfortable and that is about the only positive comment that I can make about this place.

My son and I visited this delightful restaurant on a Wednesday night and it was packed, it was loud and packed with people but it was energetic and warm and welcoming.

Popped in for lunch with hubby, both had lunch time special 2 courses. Both ordered coke but tasted like cheap coke and £2.80 which is a bit expensive!

I had a takeaway last night from Old and Joes at Ryton, I went for the Carbonara which is my favourite pasta dish, I was disgusted to find that the pasta was purely in oil, no lovely creamy sauce, just oil, it was absolutely disgusting meal, that needless to say went straight in the bin. I am a frequent visitor to Italy and have never had a carbonara like this with no sauce and dripping in oil. This is my second bad experience of this restaurant, the first being a raw chicken kiev. It is cheap for a reason

This is our second visit to this restaurant - following our visit to Ryton for a two night break. Booked Oli and Joes again as we thoroughly enjoyed our first visit here in 2016.

Absolutely the best Italian restaurant that I ever been. I was amazed by the very nice, worm and friendly atmosphere. Far away the most professional and friendly staff, on all restaurants that I visited in Newcastle. Food was simply excellent, my Antipasto was an awesome dish, and the steak that I had for my main course blow me up. Fantastic sauce and tasty Garlic Bread.

I was underwhelmed with my overall experience here, as the food was merely average- the pizza I opted for could have come out of the freezer section in a supermarket and was a little burnt around the edges, which made a disappointing meal and only makes me think I would have been better off staying in for dinner. In its favor, I found the staff quite pleasant, though the man I assumed to be the boss seemed to be rather hostile towards them, even though it was plain they were trying their best and we're likely just learning on the job. Regardless I felt that they deserved a tip for their efforts, however I was shocked to discover that they don't recieve their tips. Would not recommend, I will definitely not be returning to this "restaurant".

Absolutely one of the best dinners I have ever had. We were blown away by the tastefulness and cleanness. On top of everything, the staff was amazing. I recommend filet steak with surf & turf sauce. When I come back to Newcastle again, I will visit you guys again.

I asked for a medium sirloin steak, the first steak that came was extremely rare and the second steak that came was a fillet steak. I was severely unimpressed as it seemed the kind waitress who was trying to help seemed to be being told off by the manager who took the order and had made the mistake. As well as this, when I got the food it didn't come with vegetables. Aside from this we later discovered that the staff don't receive their tips, I wouldn't go back or recommend this restaurant.

I was at this resteraunt last Saturday and received wonderful service off the staff apart from the one who seemed to be the boss who did nothing but order the waiters around and make him call them diamond for some unknown reason. The food was average and we discovered the tips where not left for the lovely staff which is shocking as they where the best part of our experience.

I booked for a table of fourteen for my grandmothers birthday party. We were greeted at the door by a lovely Italian guy who showed us to the room upstairs (the room was spacious and airy as it was really hot) we were then seated and drinks orders were taken. To which I asked how good the prosecco was and we took a bottle.

We have visited about half a dozen times and until our most recent visit have given a 'thumbs up'.

Service a bit slow when starters arrived soup came with no bread.Birthday celebration with nine people, asked waiter if it was posible to put a candle in a piece of cake for birthday girl at the end of the night. He arrived with one Sambuca on a tray. What a disappointing night and will spend money elswhere in future.

Went to this restaurant for a night out with hubby. food ok, nothing special. We overheard a couple telling someone else to pay on their card as if you pay with cash you don't get any change. Hubby couldn't believe this and paid with cash. We didn't get any change. We were disgusted. Waitress was nowt to be seen and so we left. We won't be going back.

I've visited here a few times now and every time it has been amazing. Great food and the portion sizes are huge. The service is the best service I have received anywhere. Highly recommend here for anyone.

Had dinner here with the wife, and the family. Menu is the same as most other cheap Italian Restaurants. Food was better than I was expecting - actually pretty tasty! Given the price it's definitely worth a visit for a quick dinner!

I was here yesterday for lunch for my birthday with my friend and sister and it didn't disappoint! We had the 3 course special, potato skins, pizza and coffee for £4.95! How can you grumble at that?? Food was lovely and the waiter was great...we had a bit banter with him and he did me a flaming sambucca after our meal courtesy of the management! Nice touch!

We have been here for Italian food before which was good...so we went for a Sunday dinner... £8.95 for a 3 course which seemed ok. Skins were nice to start... main course of beef dinner... terrible terrible! You get one roast potato... tiny bit of mash...the beef was literally thick with fat all the way through and very chewy ... not good at all... one of the worst Sunday dinners I've ever had ...we hadn't been for one for months too.. £40 wasted ..2 stars for the price and skins

Have just returned from a most enjoyable meal the starters and Pizza were very good we had the 3 course special at £7-95 good value for money. The staff were very helpful and friendly we will definitely return.

The food and service were both excellent and the group i was with all enjoyed themselves until we came to pay and wanted to leave a tip this is when we discovered staff do not get a share of the tips. i do not approve of this and as such left no tip . the tip is for the service and should be shared amongst the staff not pocketed by the company left a nasty taste

We visited at 8pm on Monday evening. We have just moved back to the area and the last time I was in this building it was Barclays Bank! We simply couldn't believe the quality and size of the portions. Three courses for £7.95, great service. Recommended to friends and family and some have visited already!!

Placed our order including a bottle of house wine. The waiter said that this wine was not very good and he would bring us something better. When we got the bill, we had been charged for a much more expensive wine than we had wanted. Not right in my opinion!

Nice happy hour menu and it's a bonus that they do 50/50 (although this isn't included) really handy for us too, on the doorstep!

Great value! Lunch - £4:95 for 3 courses Evening meal - £7:95 for 3 courses. Or try the ala carte menu and specials board. Nice steaks. It's local, it's a chain, it's friendly and it's a nice easy good meal that doesn't cost the earth.

after sampling specials menu decided to return to have a go at full menu only two other people in rave music blaring uninterested staff meal two potato skins two steaks two cokes very ordinary apart from price of forty five pound much better and much cheaper places neearby certainly wont have our return coustom
