Old Town Fish Bar And Kebab House in Stevenage

Have had food from here on numerous times with items missing, orders wrong but though just I more go.... Ordered large Kofte and the meat came charred on the outside and raw in the inside, called amd all I got was a we will send replacement meal no apologies... last time for me!!!

I went there last night 2/9/23 at midnight. A staff was absolutely RUDE! The food prices are too expensive! Don’t go there people Don’t waste your money there! I would give them no star! Disgusting staff!

Eating from this place was the worst mistake of my life. It was a late night, one of the few places open and went to give it a try. Spent £9 on large chips battered sausage and Saveloy, none of which tasted at all to my standards… or the government food standards. The Saveloy tasted like water and grease, no flavour at all. Chips were more like uncut potatoes and just to clarify, a battered sausage is supposed to be golden/brown isn’t it? Not yellow/green.

Avoid at all cost unless you’re after food poising. the staff are very rude called me a f poo and female dog. They refused to change my chicken over.

We used to love it’s all sort of kebab. I am not sure if management has changed or what, Today I got a Shish kebab. I was too hungry to take it back. The kebab was not as good as it used to be. The pita beak was like a rock! Old and not-chewable. I managed to eat the kebab having my own break. The pita break went right into my rubbish bin.

Went on my way home after a few sherberts. granted not a wise decision, but couldn’t be bothered with the hassle of bingol at this time. Got a chicken kebab, what was a shock to me as it is the only chicken kebab I’ve seen in Stevenage. Got home tried it and it tasted like spag bowl, I know I’ll feel like sh*t in the morning. 1.5/10 never again. Service is alright tho.

The service at this place is brilliant. It’s really easy to phone up and order. The food is always good quality. Their chips are brilliant!

Food is okay but I had to wait over an hour for my delivery to be missing multiple items. I called was out on hold for 5 minutes and then waited 30 minutes for my missing food to arrive. AVOID!!

Received deliveries (always late) and collected from here a few times. The kebabs have always been nice, good selection of salad etc.. but the chips ....... Tonight we received a cold bag of brown soggy chips, previously when we’ve ordered meat on chips the chips have been so pale and tasteless and some would argue they weren’t cooked. Fried chicken dry. Portion size will often depend on who’s serving. Stevenage has slim pickings on nice takeaways so I’d say will likely order again when at a loose end, but on collection only

Rude staff dont answer the phone when you can clearly here them in the back ground cant get food orders right to chicken to talk to people as they no they have mucked up I order cod from them didn't receive it they also gave my partner the wrong pie absolutely useless never will I use them again

Absolutely awful! Terrible service, sloppy greasy food and drunk people all over Do not go here even if you are dying of thirst! The manager is incompetent and obnoxious None of the staff care at all and clearly don’t want to be there Why bother opening the doors??? Just stay at home.

45 minutes late but food was good when it arrived. Both kebabs had plenty of meat and salad was fresh.

30 min late delivery, we had to call, there was a puncture. Food arrived. Fish looks good then... What? White, uncooked chips the same colour as the Styrofoam container! Not beige, golden, slightly yellow... WHITE! Inedible and by now 8:40pm so just ate the fish. Avoid delivery, just buy in house so you can see what you're getting after you've handed your money over

I ordered via Just Eat and my text said the food was despatched at 8.58pm.... it arrived at 9.25pm, cold and my kebab, even though I requested no salad except onion and cabbage was covered in lettuce and tomato... yuk.... Called the restaurant to complain and was told sorry, we have been busy.... well think you might not be busy for long if this is the terrible standard you serve.... Please read the reviews on this place before you waste your money.... it really is dreadful

Have ordered from here a few times through the Just Eat app. Delivered quickly, reasonable prices and delicious fish. Burgers aren't bad and chips are tasty. We do not have any complaints and will no doubt order again soon. So far so good.

DO NOT GO NEAR THIS PLACE. Even though you may have had a few drinks, please do not go near this place. You will regret it. Awful people, awful food, all round awful.

I have a feeling there are new owners as the guys that used to serve there are no longer there Anyway I order a combination shish kebab chicken and Lamb and a chicken shish. Now with a kebab takeaway you expect a good portion of meat and an equally health portion of salad but not anymore they must be sponsored by slimmin world! The chicken shish literally had 4 pieces of chicken! If anything I laughed when I seen it as it was pathetic with an equally pathetic amount of salad! Pretty much the same story with the combination chicken and lamb shish. I will definitely not be returning and the competition bingol down the road is just as crap. Looks like I will have to venture out of Stevenage for a decent size and quality shish

Fancied something to eat after a night out with friends and couldn't believe the poor standard of food i asked why the savaloys had clingfilm over them in the heater and was told that was the water they was keeping warm in avoid at all costs

I did not think it could be possible to serve food as terrible as this (not cheap either). Lamb was absolutely awful. Never encountered meat as chewy and tough in all my life. I gave it to my dog and he nearly died trying to chew it. Chips were also soggy and hard in parts. Really bad. Always feel bad leaving low ratings but if this had a 0 star then I'd leave that. Staff are also rude and the meat is hello also

The regularly treat myself to a Kebab here on takeaway night and having sampled pretty much everywhere else I think the Kebabs are 10/10! The service is very good always smiles and quick service I also used Justeat to deliver and it was spot on and Hot,

Thought I’d try another establishment rather than my regular place. Well I didn’t know kebabs could be of such low quality, despite the bad publicity around them. Well this kebab was full of lumps of fat, gristle, vains & even bits of bone.

After an evening out with some friends, on the way home we decided to stop and get some chips to eat when we got home. OMG wish we hadn't bothered, they were white and insipid looking and when I tried to eat them, they were hard and chewy, unhappily I had to bin them. I phoned my friends to find out if it was just mine and they all said the same thing, they were awful and inedible. I have had food from here before and although it was eatable (unlike this evening) it has never really been a pleasant experience

We've regularly ordered kebabs from here, a special kebab and a lamb shish. It's always been really tasty, hot and freshly cooked.

We have ordered a few times now from this outlet. We always used to use the Bingol but having got fed up with the cold food delivery and poor customer service we needed a new supplier!! We are so pleased with the change. Food is always sent out hot and quick. It’s fresh and tasty with lots of different options. I actually swopped my kebab tonight for the fish and chips and it was seriously massive!! We would now not consider ordering anywhere else.

Friday evening, as usual a queue stretching out of the shop but well worth the wait. Fast, efficient and polite staff. Excellent choice of Fish, Pies etc well wrapped and reasonably priced. A firm favourite

Mi marido tenía un gran cordero shish y no era muy apetecible. Él pidió otro pincho de cordero y tuvo que pagar por otro medio shish! El cordero era hecha y duro. Mi pollo shish estaba bien, de nuevo un poco más preparado. Pero supongo que eso es lo que pasa cuando se compra un kebab en el bar de un pescado!

Utilizada para visitar aquí regularmente, pero he decidido parar ir. En visitas recientes la comida ha sido tibia. En las últimas dos visitas me han dado kebabs, sólo para descubrir que apenas hay ensalada en ellos una vez que tengo casa. Y he tenido que pedir el cambio correcto en 3 de los últimos 6 o 7 visitas. No es cada vez pero los tiempos suficientes para preguntarnos si no es un accidente.

Yo trato de no salir de una crítica negativa, pero en este caso haré una excepción, ya que no hay nada realmente agradable para decir aquí, aparte de las patatas estaban bien tradicional chipshop/patatas fritas. .

Got our order wrong, it was practically cold & the chicken was grainy & crunchie. The garlic sauce didn't taste of garlic & the chips were under cooked

Had pie & chips (delivered)pie was floppy and had been microwaved,as for the chips well what can I say, think they'd been reheated several times,hardly any whole chips mainly crunchie end bits,couldn't pick them up with my fork. Certainly won't be returning. Not worth wasting your money on this rubbish.

He estado utilizando estos años quizás una vez cada par de meses un pollo shish. El pollo solía ser perfectamente preparada y todo sería fresco y sabroso. Que usamos hace un par de semanas y estaba muy decepcionado. El pollo era, en el mejor de los casos, repugnante - hard crujiente bits y correosos, no hace falta decir que tuve que tirarlo. Por desgracia no volveremos, ya que me ha puesto por completo. una pena.

Este es nuestro favorito Tienda de kebab. Me encanta el personal, agradable, amable y divertido. Recomiendo el pollo con salsa de ajo o shish bacalao y patatas fritas.

Calle Standard tienda de kebabs con una mejor que la media higiene y decencia de estos locales. Kebabbs de hay son la opción de ir por aquí con salsa chili si su valiente.

Discusting service and won't be ordering from them again doesn't even deserve 1 star and when asked for my money back got told no . So over an hour wait !!!!!

Food was good and delivery time too. I just didn't like I had to walk a lot to meet the driver. I was already on my pyjamas and had to stay outside in the cold waiting untill I see 'a car flashing'. I would like next time they could ring at my door.

Went there last night with my mum for some fish and chips. Fish was cooked to order so was a bit of a wait, but they gave us a little tray of chips on the house to keep us going (we must have looked hungry!) Food was great, massive portion of fish, great size of chips. Will be back next time I'm in town.

And the battered sausage was stupidly wrapped up with the chips so the batter was soft and falling off so that didn't get eaten. I am majorly annoyed at how bad this order came to me. DO NOT expect my custom ever again, even if I'm drunk I wouldn't eat this food.
