Always use this pub when in Cambridge. Quite possibly my favourite station located pub in the Country. Lovely feel to the pub with some great decor and an easy going atmosphere. Service is always quick and efficient. Excellent choice of drinks and bar snacks. Missed 2 trains yesterday just to stay a bit longer 🤭

Bought a couple of drinks, sat outside, queued up and got some food from a food van. Then a member of staff came out and told us off for eating "outside food" and asked to us leave. So we just moved about 2 meters away to eat and finish our drinks. They need to put signs more clearly saying they're not affiliated with the vans because it seemed to us we weren't doing anything wrong. Quite annoying at £7 a pint to be told to leave.

Hands down one of the best places to grab a beer in the city. The staff exude confidence, style and knowledge. The perfect package! A buoyant atmosphere with a solid mix of locals and passersby Solid beer selection although I would love some more local crafty pales. Decent range of snacks. If I could frequent more I would. Couldn’t recommend any higher!

Used to be my default pub till 1-2 annoying male bartenders ruined my atmosphere, still a pub with a great beer selection in CB1 near train station. Pub (board) games available, and they used to have Live music on Tuesday as part of CB1 community. Which are the star bartenders? Josh or any of the young ladies

The serving hatch of the coffee area onto the platform in the station is an absolutely invaluable part of my morning commute when I change trains at Cambridge. Excellent well-cooked food and the hand-made coffee is just perfect, and so much better than the other retailers inside the station. Long may it continue!

I used to have an after work beer in Station Tavern, but after being ignored at the bar for 10 minutes while people who arrived after me were served first my colleagues and I decided to venture over the the OTO. Friendly staff (who don't leave you waiting at the bar for ages) If you want a great selection of beers in a welcoming atmosphere this is the place to come to.

This is an amazing pub with a wide and varied beer selection, a great visit for CAMRA members to try something new. The bar staff are always friendly and welcoming.

I spent the happiest night here since I came to Cambridge for a month and a half. The singers hired here are great and they interact with the guests. The atmosphere is particularly good. The clerk gave us bread when we left.

Cosy enough station pub which needs to sort out their loos (the men’s was flooded, however I can sort of understand as it was a Saturday night) and QR menus on the tables (when I scanned I couldn’t order anything, it just directed me to the pub’s general homepage rather than being a purchase portal). Also, prices for the cocktails on the blackboard are not clearly advertised.

Waiting for my morning coffee. Was told “back in 5”. 15 minutes later no sign at all. Waiting 24 mins before having to go for my train without a coffee or breakfast. Useless employee with a nose ring which is in breach of health and safety for someone working with food and drink

Varied food (pizza, pasta, ...) and well-disposed pints. Very restrictive in terms of time. Terrace somewhat bustling because it overlooks the station. Sometimes there is live music.

Sunday, kitchen was closed, bought drinks from the bar and hot food from the food trucks opposite. Around 1 hour later when other friends arrived we get an earful from a visibly upset manchild telling us we can’t eat food from “outside” in their seating area…completely ruined the vibe, wouldn’t go back here if you paid me! Nonsensical rule as he then says we can carry our glasses to other tables outside the permi

What a horrible first experience I had here. Staff were so rude and patronising especially two bar men wish I got their names so I could name and shame (one of them had a man bun). They were so horrible and unwelcoming towards me and my friends who were trying to buy drinks. They refused valid id from myself and dramatically inspected my friends pretty much expecting to not accept it. Man bun then came inside and started giving out to us for other people eating food and having a drink when we were still trying to buy product from them. Cannot believe men like this are allowed to serve customers especially young women it felt very misogynistic and like a power trip over my friends and I who are 20-22 years of age. Will not be returning.

Staff were extremely rude, patronising and condescending, would not accept a valid Age Card ID, and somewhat enjoyed the fact that he couldn’t serve us. Not even a single “sorry” - it was such an uncomfortable and rude encounter. Then when another person presented a drivers license ID, we felt as though he embarrassed her by over dramatically checking and inspecting the ID. Also weren’t even told how much our purchases would cost, just had the card machine shoved in our faces. This was such an unwelcoming first experience, I’m really embarrassed for the bar staff that served us (two men, one with man bun, one wearing hat). I work in hospitality myself and never would I dream of speaking to customers in the arrogant and rude way the bar staff did. It seems as though these bar staff are on a huge power trip with the position they are given, and it felt very misogynistic and personal seeing as no other customers seem to have had any issues apart from us girls. Additionally, we moved to sit outside of the Ibis (as we felt more welcomed there) and a customer we had seen at OTO walked past, and threw up! So tell me why they have served a customer who is extremely intoxicated, yet we get treated disgustingly even though we are all of age and had valid ID.

This was the best pub night ever. The pastries are astonishing. Beers good too. Quite a long way from the railway station however. Missed my train. Had to get an uber.

Beer garden at entry then goes down hill once inside. Miserable staff, poor choice of ciders, drinks are expensive and the toilets are disgusting! Didn't try the food but it's a no from me.

The only place in Cambridge that does Murphys. Josh and Ray behind the bar always have a smile on their face and keep me coming back. Great spot for a few quick drinks before getting the train home.

Decent pub to have a few pints in before/after your train

I bought a single drink. Upon paying I was presented with a card reader and ask by the person behind the bar: , “please select”. On offer was a 5%, 10%, 20%, etc tip. Yes, there was a “no thanks” option…but why present for a single drink bar order? I was with a friend, and the person behind the bar reached over and selected No thanks.

Stopped off here to get food. Very happy to report the pizza “pepperoni “ that I devoured was the best pizza I’ve had in years. Absolutely delicious and washed down with a couple of Sam Miguel’s. Comfortable warm surrounding and served by happy professional staff. Compliments to the chef. 👨‍🍳 🍕

I’ve been frequenting this pub for just over a year and a half now, the staff are always extremely welcoming and kind, even after a very long and tiring day you’ll always be sure to feel right at home! Every staff member is wonderful, though Alex and Quinn definitely go that extra mile! 10/10.

I have worked in the establishment and I trust believe that it is a GREAT place to work! Alex is so committed to the pub and he truly knows exactly what he is talking about! However a little bit of minor hostility! Which I find is inapplicable to customers, not employees. The pastries are INCREDIBLE! They are from Stir Bakery and I popped into the bakery and they are NOWHERE NEAR as good as they are at O.T.O. Despite being a disgruntled former employee, I HIGHLY recommend visiting this pub, which should say more than anything. The Old Ticket Office is incredible, with the BEST beer, BEST service and fantastic coffee and pastries for when you want to catch your train. I have the utmost respect for Alex and how he runs this unique pub! Make sure to check it out!

Poor food..cold when bought to the table I complained but the member of staff just grinned and walked off ! Very expensive for a very poor quality meal Seemed to be frequented mostly by Irish Travellers who where very intimidating Never again !

Popped in for a beer while waiting for a train. Decent range of beers and the one I had was in good condition. The internal layout is a bit quirky but given its former use that is understandable. Overall I was pleasantly surprised and will visit again soon.

1 star, 3 members of staff behind the bar, I was the only customer at the bar. They totally ignored me, waited about 5 minutes, still no acknowledgment. Walked out. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Being elderly (70+) the toilets up the stairs were a challenge. Looks more like a tastefully furnished Internet Café than a pub. But definitely a loud (full) visit but nice visit. Drinks and staff top, thanks.

Had to pop in somewhere as it was late at night and missed our connecting train. I loved the atmosphere however all of the tables were absolutely disgusting and definitely required some attention 🤢. Despite that it was handy having the train times inside of the bar rather than me attempting to look out the window to view the one inside of the station. 👍👍

Kind staff. Paying £3 for a hot chocolate always hurts, but it's worth it for the right, tasteful hot chocolate. You will not find that hot chocolate here.

Popped into this pub as it was next to our hotel. Food was delicious and the staff were great! We ended up staying here most of the night. If you get off the train and you are thirsty, give it a visit.

Such a lovely, cozy pub. The bartender also offered me the few unsold pastries to avoid throwing them away at closing time. Would recommend!

On the positive side - good range of cask ales. On the negative side however, two issues. Firstly, there’s a big screen TV. In my opinion, if you want to watch telly stay at home (although to be fair it was showing a sporting event - and we all know we’ve got to like sporting events now, don’t we?). Secondly, and far more importantly in my eyes, they discriminate against people who want or need to pay by cash (ie they won’t take it), which is why I’ve given it the lowest possible rating. If you don’t care about leaving an audit trail for ‘big brother’ everywhere you go then maybe you’ll enjoy it. If you’re a bit more discerning however, you’ll probably realise it’s best avoided. There are some great alternatives a few minutes walk away that are still within easy reach of the railway station.

Came here for a quick drink to get out of the rain and kill some time before our bus. The drinks themselves were perfectly fine, but the pub itself is pretty run down and drab. We made our way to a table but were put off to see lots of flies hovering around the table. We went to find another table that seemed better but we were quickly bothered by lots of tiny flies trying to land on our drinks. They seemed like fruit flies, so might be worth staff checking for any food that might have been missed behind seats or something that could be attracting flies.

This place has been a favourite for lunch meetups with friends but lately the menu has shrunk to pizzas, garlic bread and croissants. Nothing else. The burger and chips pic is therefore misleading. I wasn't hungry enough for a pizza so ordered garlic bread to be told they'd run out of garlic butter so couldn't fill my order. I went home and had lunch there instead.

They call you buddy. They’re not your buddy. Good layout. Excellent beers. Take your beer and don’t bother them because they’ve got better things to do. Although if you can give them a positive review please do as they read them all.

Great little pub but they just don't seem to know how to maintain good real ale. As soon as they get a good one on, everyone drinks it, it runs out and then no decent ale. So, the staff just look at you and say what will you have now?! I won't have anything; I'll go somewhere that knows how to take care of their ale.

Lovely pub right by the station. Great place to grab a quick drink before your train or a lengthy visit having just arrived in Cambridge. Boards inside updating you on train times and so best way to wait for a train.

Not the greatest, didn’t want to replace a beer that was clearly off, stating there’s more than 5 pints left in the line…that’s ok then £6 for a bad pint well spent. We then went to the pub next door which was much better

Well, where to begin... Within five minutes of arriving greeted at the unusual from normal but at the same time stunning/cool bar by the lovely host Harper (do not call her Abby). What can I say, she made my first time in Cambridge very relaxed and also does a half decent sausage roll. When you arrive to see the establishment you'll know what I mean, she'll serve you, AKA avril Lavigne xx

Visited on the 26th May 2023 to have a leaving-do pint and a chat with workmates. Alas they had a DJ playing music so loud we had to shout conversation. Management please note: you run a pub, not a nightclub or a dance hall. Certainly has put me off visiting in future.

Attempted to buy a coffee from their window on Platform 4 of the station. The person behind the counter was so engrossed in their phone that they didn't see me waiting so I had to knock. I smiled as they came to the window and was met with a blank look. I asked, unprompted by any words at all from the server, for a coffee and got an eye roll and a shake of the head as I was asked what type of coffee (I assume because I hadn't been specific, though couldn't see a menu). I decided to inconvenience them no further, and let them get back to whatever I was keeping them from doing.

£17.50 for a burnt fish and chips at a station pub. Nice. Beer selection is good and it's a quirky venue but blimey, at those prices there are much better places to eat.

Great food, nice atmosphere. Really friendly staff - one bartender was relatively new but really lovely and being aided by someone who I assume was the bar manager - very knowledgeable and also friendly. I was sad that it wasn’t busier on a Sunday lunchtime. A nice little place! Burgers to die for!

Nice idea to have a hatch into the station. But the pain au chocolate was salty (!) and the service surly.

Always enjoy a visit here, great service and decent food. If the kitchen isn't open, you can take in food from the trucks outside.

Has the potential to be great, but the service through the window to the station platform was utterly rubbish. Kid wasn't interested, made a terrible coffee, and was very unhygienic. I'd avoid this in future. 🙁

A decent spot to observe the hustle and bustle of Cambridge Station. A decent menu with an array of interesting beers and wines. I would recommend the Jubel peach beer.

Great pub right next to train station

After a day in London, we stopped off at the Ticket Office on the Friday before Christmas. We were immediately greeted by friendly staff. We ordered via the app. Both the food and the drinks were served quickly and with a smile.

They have a great selection of ales! Seems an authentic place, not a chain, which is quite rare considering it's close to the train station. Haven't had food, but the beer range is great. Staff could be friendlier mind you but that was during the World Cup period so just think they were overworked/busy!
