Walked into the restaurant on a Sunday at 1.30pm with my wife an son for a Sunday lunch. Was told by the staff that we'd have to book and they couldn't surve us any food. I have never been in a situation as stupid as this in an empty restaurant before. There was 2 people sat in the whole place and 3 staff members, so hardly packed out. The rough looking blonde woman behind the bar seemed to take great delight in telling us she couldn't serve us.

Hi, my name is George I went today with my two brothers for a game of pool and for me a drink as I am 20 years old. However, I was rudely accused by the manager, Jackie, of handing them alcoholic drinks due to the fact the glass hadn’t been picked up on our table. She then proceeded to constantly accuse me and shove the drink that was still full into my arms whilst I was playing pool and she said rudely ‘keep hold of it’. This ruined what was a good experience at this pub. The other bar members, a young lad, and a girl with green ends made it much more pleasurable. However, Jackie is a poor, embarrassing excuse of a manager and I think her service was quite frankly appalling. Would not recommend. George

I use this place regular as I stay at the caravan site. Pub food is much better at the moment and reasonable value for money. The drinks prices are on the high side in my opinion and also be aware you have to use a plastic glass if drinking outside. Staff are all good and helpful.

Waiting team were helpful and friendly and main course portions were huge (but food very average). Spring roll starter was tasty - but unfortunately not much else went in its favour for us. Bar prices are top end, unlike the service from the barman who seemed to be away with the fairies. Disappointing overall.

We enjoyed a tasty, expertly cooked Sunday roast carvery. All staff were very attentive and the weather was fantastic-so we eat outside as well. We will be back again.

Food was beautiful; the staff were friendly and happy to help with anything. Amazing atmosphere. Will be going back!

The tables were terrible…so sticky the napkins stuck to them so we only went once …we did intend eating there a couple of times on our holiday

Lovely bar and restaurant, though under staffed and were disorganised. Good place to eat and drink, the on-site fish and chip barTight Lines were the winner at this site with amazingly good food and service.

Myself and my daughter just had the lunch special of Lamb shoulder and Chicken gyros, they were incredible, fantastic flavour. Compliments to the new chef and the staff. Will order again.

Ordered the beef chilli nachos to share with my partner and they were amazing! Big portion and fresh ingredients.. heard there is a new chef and the food for sure shows it 👍 Will definitely order more food here often!

Family of 3. I had rump special, partner had burger and daughter in law lasagne. All arrived in good time, piping hot and tasted delicious. Proper home cooked food. Chips to die for. Congratulations this bar worth a visit.

Me and my family came here today just to have some food. And I must say, it was amazing! The food was next level. We had the burgers, and the lasagna. And all of it was perfectly cooked, and just downright amazing. The staff were lovely, just overall an amazing experience. The chef needs a good pat on the back, because he is outstanding with flavor.

Booked a table for my wife’s 50th birthday, when we arrived we were told that we hadn’t booked and should book via Facebook. I had actually called and booked. When we were eventually allowed a table (drinks only) we were asked to leave after twenty minutes! In someways I was glad as the table was pushed into the corner and both my wife and I were literally sat facing away (from the very few tables allowed in the pub) admiring the wall!! We have visited many times and appreciated the family feel but this time was terrible. We totally understand the current restrictions but I generally believe that it’s being used as an excuse to do very little and get away with it. Where is the management here??? Also, why is it acceptable to walk around in hoodies and trainers when serving guests? Action needed.

Had a really nice meal whilst staying at the site, I had beef lasagne and my partner had chicken curry and both meals delicious and generous. Service great, well recommended

Visited as my wife and I were staying on the site in Sept 20, so during COVID. Booking was awkward as you need face book or the phone number, but once I’d sorted my IT out no issues. Service was good, social distancing excellent, cleanliness of areas excellent. The choice of food was not huge but catered for all tastes and was very tasty. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Recommend veg curry and lasagne.

Excellent food, service etc One barman in particular was a right laugh, didn’t get his name but he was always having a laugh & a joke

Stayed here for 4 nights in August & while we agreed prior to our trip that we wouldn’t eat here every day......well, we did!!! The food was/is just so good we couldn’t not!! We had everything from a full meal to what I Class as a ‘snack’ meal (e.g. jacket potato) and every meal was spot on!!Do just want to add on this review though as there is no Stowaways listed on Trip Advisor, although the food in Stowaways was good, I have never come across such a rude woman in my entire life!!! We went for breakfast on Thursday 8th August & I have NEVER met such a rude woman ever!! We were tempted to go back for the breakfast on the Friday but we didn’t bother as I couldn’t face being served by her again!!!!

If you have a big appetite you will be satisified. Quite a good choice for children too. Evening singers a bit boring and dreary.

Recently stayed on the campsite and enjoyed the entertainment provided by Jonathan Mark who excelled with his diverse songs and music.

The ploughmans and the scones are good value for money. Lovely coffee and the cocktail deal they did at v dub weekend was good value.

It was quiet and at the beginning of the season. The barman and other staff were great and went out of their way to be helpful. A nice space with plenty of seating and good to be able to take the dog in. Food was of an acceptable standard, but portion sizes were too small for the prices charged. We left feeling that we hadn’t got very good value for money. Not a wow

Children welcomed, highchairs available. Service a little slow. Football on TV was a distraction to conversation.

really nice food staff are very helpful and friendly can enjoy a drink with a meal. Also seating outside so the children can play in the games room or on the play equipment.

Absolutely shocking family meal,complete waste of £70 son had spaghetti Bolognese he was up all night being sick an my meal was burnt so I complained about it got another one which was the same absolutely shocking worse meal ever overheard 3 other families saying how bad there meals was we complained and they staff was very rude and standing around playing on there phones

Had a meal during our last stay at Stowford and have to say, they didn't disappoint us. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, I'd definitely recommend the lasagne it was great. My grandson loved the spaghetti bolognese, he couldn't eat it all, so they provided a container to take with us & he ate it for his tea later. Prices are good & there's plenty of choice on the menu. If you have kids with you, they'll provide coloured pencils & a print to colour in to keep them entertained for a bit. Definitely child & dog friendly.

We called in this bar most days around late afternoon / tea time after being out for the day. Good choice of drinks and usually a good atmosphere the only down side is some of the parents who don't know how to make children behave, but apart from that the food is reasonable at a good price.

A good place to chill on sunny days when on site or if it's a wet day stay in side and play pool and have a drink and get some food, and your able to take your dogs in and with the log fire burning in the winter it's a really cozy place to relax

We arrived at the holiday park with no food so decided to eat at the Old Stable Bar rather than go to the supermarket. I ordered hotdogs for the kids and scampi for me. Uncooked chips, dry peas, tough dry broccoli, dry bread, tough carrots. It is definitely the worst meal I've ever been served in a restaurant, even the kids couldn't eat it, my son had to spit out the broccoli it was so tough.

Menu though not extensive was very good just the same. Hot and fresh and plenty of it. Service was great on both nights we ate there.

El fin de semana significó el bar y el restaurante estaban muy ocupados. Tuvimos que esperar unos 20 minutos por una mesa, pero nos las arreglamos para conseguir uno pronto después de personas a la izquierda cuando el partido de fútbol televisado han terminado.

the family had the home made steak pie served with chips and veg it was awesome nice juicy chunks of beef in a rich gravy , short crumbly pastry crisp broccoli peas and baton carrots bloody delicious comes with extra gravy too defo recommend this dish to any visitor

Nice to find a large pub type place at Stowford Caravan and Camping site. Plenty of seating, although place could have been cleaner, with remnants of previous diners food left on tables and especially the floor. We felt the food was slightly overpriced, but it was nice enough and was serviced in a reasonable time. Has a fixed menu and a special board, which did change through the week.

Good food, adequate service in a basic environment; wooden table and seats.Fairly varied menu. Food arrived promptly, hot and most enjoyable.

The stable bar was nice, pleasant, food was good and not overly expensive for a captive audience.The Barn was very tired, soft play not great, entertainment butlins like but at least it gives people somewhere to go in the evenings.

Dated, old, expensive. Fun and games are not fun, and this venue caters to the shallow end of the gene pool....

Good hot food. Good local beer and cider, Sky sports, what more could you ask for? A smaller bill..... it's good but it doesn't come cheap. They have a captive audience so they can charge... Still worth a night out though...

Had a meal here very tasty, friendly staff and dog friendly what more could you ask for, also had a television and outside seating if you wanted, was all kept clean and tidy with the tables cleared very promptly.

Cannot fault the food although was very pricey - £7.95 for a jacket potato was quite high ? How many bags of potatoes could u buy with that!!!

Ate in here twice, very convenient, reasonably priced and fair selection of food including kids menu.

Lights on full beam, no thought to the chair and table layout, sticky carpets and food very basic, guess you only get what you pay for!

Average selection of dishes but all were over priced. Food wasn't amazing, but perfectly edible. Took a while to get our meals but it was busy.

Great little bar with a good choice of drinks and tasty bar food. Entertainment in high season. Friendly staff great place to chat with friends or make new ones

Good pub food and very accommodating staff. - shame it was not open when we had more family down as we would have visited again. Disagree with the previous comment, the amount was great and the staff helped with our little one - some staff did let the other down somewhat.

Field 5 looks seriously tired, we ate in the restaurant and by God we wish we hadn't, one of the worst meals we have ever had the experience of eating, when it was served my first words were, where's the rest of it? I had a 25p naan, less than a handful of chips and a sloppy curry sauce all for a bargain price of £10!! Seriously over priced microwaved rubbish! Seem to care more about caravan sales than the customers staying there year after year! My advise now after recommending Stowford to everyone is to stay away, place has gone down hill!!
