Taken here by a friend, beautiful old building in the heart of Oswestry, lovely vibrant courtyard with a friendly vibe. Food was superb and well priced. Can’t wait to return here

Last minute stop for a quick breakfast, service was good, friendly staff, coffee was ok,bit bitter, had to add sugar which is unusual for me and my breakfast of poached eggs, bacon and hash brown was disappointing, eggs and bacon overcooked and the hash brown was just very strange, coukdnt place the veg used, very stringy and undercooked inside, the crusty outside was nice though, all on all very underwhelming and exoensive. The cakes looked good.

I was lucky enough to celebrate my 60th birthday here with 10 close friends and family. The afternoon tea and service was second to none as were the staff, for whom nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend this delightful restaurant for any occasion.

This is a delightful small restaurant just behind the church in Oswestry. Bobbed in for a snack while waiting for others to arrive. Lovely old beams with an eclectic mix of objet d'art make this quaint and quirky. Staff were friendly, polite and engaging and the food - freshly cooked with fresh produce - superb. Following the first experience we returned another two times and each time the same high standards were maintained.

Worth going just to see the building including the first floor rooms with various characterful nooks to sit in. The breakfast was good too.

This is a gem of a little cafe, situated in a beautiful historic building next to the church. We were just passing through, on our way home from Wales, and found it by accident but we're so glad we did! We didn't get to try the food, sadly, but we can highly recommend the hot chocolate. It was very busy so we sat outside in the courtyard, which is a lovely little spot and with plenty of umbrellas to shade you either from the sun or a light drizzle! I had the Black Forest hot chocolate with cream and it was AMAZING. The plain hot chocolate was equally good, I'm told, as was the vanilla milkshake (again with cream, and marshmallows). Admittedly it wasn't cheap but you can tell they use quality ingredients, so it's worth it for a treat. The staff were also lovely and friendly. It's a shame we don't live in the area (and are not likely to be passing Oswestry again) as we would love to have returned. Definitely recommend.

Very limited choice, food was only luke warm, gravy completely tasteless and desserts weren't great either. When asked by the waitress why my son hadn't eaten his beef, he explained that it was very dry. The waitress apologised but didn't even discount the meal. This place is usually quite good but I wouldn't bother with it for special occasions - they are clearly not equipped for larger volumes.

Having visited this cafe several years ago with a friend (pre-pandemic) it was very good value, although a tad limited in its menu . We were in awe of the characterful building which displayed lots of interesting extras to browse and potentially buy as part of the tourist information service in Oswestry. My husband and I visited a few weeks ago, quickly realising it was under new management and had a lot to offer. We were really impressed by the eclectic menu and options for gluten free, veggie and vegan. We enjoyed a brilliant all day breakfast, mine being veggie with a delicious meat free slice (also suitable for vegans). We spoke to one of the staff saying how pleased we were with the ambience, quality of food and service. There were a number of lunch options we were to keen to try - such as shaksuka, and choices not available elsewhere in town. The member of staff seemed genuinely pleased and showed us a sample evening menu as we were interested to return for one of their curry nights. She also explained that the chef and therefore the menu would shortly change. On the basis of our last visit I think our rating would have been 4/5 stars. We visited again today just a few weeks later and had quite a different, sadly less positive experience. The menu seems reduced and less exciting although it still respects various dietary requirements. It may be that it changes frequently and seasonally? The room was chilly so; after initially taking off my coat ready to eat; I put it on again before the food arrived. There was also an error with the order despite the server having read back the order to check she had recorded it correctly. Hence I delayed eating some of my dish until the halloumi was served by which time my husband had finished his sandwich. Service overall was polite and quite speedy. All in all we came away ambivalent about returning which was very different to last time. The bill was over £23 which seemed a lot for a macchiato, an elderflower drink, sausage and bacon sandwich and my veggie hash dish with halloumi. The evening menu does look good so we probably will give OSH the benefit of the doubt and visit again at some point, hoping to recapture some of the magic of our February lunch.

What a great find in Oswestry... perfect place to stop for breakfast on the way to South Wales. Hidden away behind the big church on the edge of town centre. You would never find it if you were walking down the high street. Seemed like it was frequented by locals. What a superb interesting breakfast menu... probably best breakfast we have had anywhere. Very friendly and professional staff...greeted and shown to our reserved table...order taken quickly... fantastic coffee arrived quickly and breakfast soon after... delicious. Gluten free no problem and staff knowledgeable. Lovely cosy atmosphere. Absolutely brilliant...top class cafe/restaurant.

The valentines menu was absolutely incredible. The Thai prawn curry somehow felt super posh and like the comfort meal I always needed at the same time. Everything was cooked perfectly and all plates were returned without a single crumb left. The service was fantastic, everyone is so lovely. All 3 courses were a delight and I was already back the following morning to try their day time menu ( the banoffee pancakes are something else! )

A lovely warm welcome from the Lady serving us and so far the best breakfast I have ever had in Scotland (and I've had a few). Cafe is spotlessly clean and prices are fair, well worth a visit in my honest opinion.

This cafe served the worst scone I have ever had / didn't have. (and that's saying something as I'm in my 70s and have had a few in my time. You could build a house with a few of them. Inedible expensive rubbish. It came in a paper bag, no plate and a wooden disposable knife which struggled to cut it. The coffee was served in a paper cup. But was drinkable. Cost over £13 for two coffees and two inedible scones. I am disgusted and will definitely won't be back

Visited the Frothy this morning for the first & very last time as the cafe is closing. Whilst the cafe was comfortable the coffee wasn’t the best ever tasted and we were stunned at the price! Compared to other coffee houses close by it was surprising; could this be a reason they are not finding it profitable?
