The website advertises all day food which is not the case - kitchen closes between 2 and 5. No matter we had English tapas instead, crisps! Super friendly staff - bet it’s a very cosy spot on a winter’s evening with its wood burning stove. We would make a point of going again. Barman was playing some brilliant music -electric folk - he was very knowledgeable. Sorry I forgot to ask your name but thank you for educating me about Runrig!

Some of the worst service you’ll ever find. Made customers who were looking for lunch and drinks feel like we were an inconvenience for even stepping foot in the place. Also swiftly kicked out a 4 year old child who was in the company of her parents so they could order said food and drinks, but let a dog run wild through the pub. Don’t waste your time or money, and instead head down the road to the beautiful Isle of Mull Hotel & Spa where you’ll be treated with respect, and receive great food and views.

Ate here twice and enjoyed the food very much. It is a small pub with the usual Islands staffing problems due to Brexit and Covid no doubt. Previous reviews mentioned rudeness, which we didn't encounter at all, current staff were friendly and helpful. However the atmosphere was rather spoiled by Swearing Ronnie the local. His constant effing and blinding caused quite a few couples to leave. Suggest that the bar could be partitioned off with a hatch, so he can stand by the toilets to drink!

Our family of 4 plus our dog arrived hungry and ready to eat at 6:30pm… we asked if we could eat in, but the restaurant was full, so we concluded to eat outdoors. We we’re told this isn’t possible and so we must order takeaway! Which we did… 30 mins after ordering it was raining outdoors, so we went to ask if we could sit in the restaurant, as perhaps someone had finished… They had, yay, so we we’re taken through by the girl who took our order, and my name, and waited for our food. By approx 7:30 I was getting pretty hungry, as were the kids, but we we’re chatting to a lovely couple so we waited longer. 15 mins later I couldn’t wait any longer and went back to the separate bar area and asked how the food was getting on? The bar girl replied it’s just here on the bar and has been for 15 mins!!! What? I asked why they didn’t bring it through, or let us know and she then asked me if I was Andrew!!!??? I was one of only 8 customers, three of which were the rest of my family! I was so hungry I tucked in, pissed off and disappointed. My wife insisted that they heated up her and my daughters food, which they begrudgingly did! The burger was lovely, yet tepid in temperature… The pizzas were great too. Thumbs up to the chef, thumbs down to the useless bar staff. I ordered another drink, hoping for an apology and perhaps a freebie for the trouble, but no. Unimpressed at the service, but like I said, great food. What a shame!

We were staying in the campsite opposite and ate at the pub two nights running. Although it looks a basic menu the food was excellent, well presented, fast service and hot, at a good price. The very busy, limited, young staff were very helpful and humorous and made our visit definitely worthwhile. Plenty of outdoor seating but due to inclement weather we ate indoors in the small restaurant area.

We visited here as a group and booked a table. We were told if it was busy they would put is in a room round the back which was fine. Unfortunately when we arrived, the room was freezing and we were abandoned in there. We had to go through the main restaurant into the bar to get our own menus, and then each person in our group of 8 had to go up and order individually at the bar. This led to locals moaning to the bartender about waiting to be served since she was dealing with us to make sure our food came out at the same time. This would have been easily avoided if someone had taken our order at the table!

Whilst staying at the campsite nearby we thought we would have a meal out in the Craignure Inn, when we arrived and ordered a coupe of drinks and a bag of crisps, the pub had no draft ales or red or rose wine ! Good start ! We sat at a table in the quaint old building and observed a fish & chip being brought out to another customer which didn’t look too appetising ! Small fish - frozen chips ! My partner then picked up a sachet of mayonnaise that was in the condiments holder on our table which was 12 months out of date ! I then turned over the empty bag of crisps that we had consumed and noticed it was a month out of date ! Needless to say we left without eating here

We had lunch here before getting the ferry back to Oban. There is parking outside and it's a few minutes from the ferry terminal.Being a wet day in October the place was pretty quiet but service was very good, efficient and friendly. The food was great, really well cooked, well presented and very nice.Free wifi too :)

Stopped in for lunch whilst on Mull for the day. The bar has lovely character but we were not allowed to eat there with the children and the lounge are was a bit tired looking. The food was typical pub lunch food, we had scampi and fish and chips, was good but not different or special. It was just what we expected, would probably try somewhere different next time on Mull..

this was our 3rd visit to the pub in as many years , it has gone downbank in this time and the prices are ridiculous for what you get.The sample menu online is nothing like the real one, the sweet portions are very small for the cost ( £4.25) the staff are hopeless and the waiting time is bad.

Love this perfect Highland Country Pub. Has a feeling of History with its traditional decoration. We has the scampi and fish and chips washed down with some local ale. Perfect after a day up in the hills.

A quaint old world feel to the small bar area. The food was really good, we eat here for the 3 nights we stayed on Mull, because it was within a few minutes walk of our camp site. The service was good and also the food. I especially enjoyed a glass or two of Tobermory Terror which is a local dark ale

I spent a few hours in Craignure before it was time for my ferry back to Oban, and had decided to have lunch at the Old Pier Inn, it is a traditional old pub, not brightly lit and decorated with old tools, and oak beams, they had a fantastic menu, and had no problem serving me a child's portion, the chap even opened up a tab for me in case I wanted desert, after explaining that I have not got a great appetite, and hate to waste food, the service was great food was perfectly cooked and pipping hot and even for my small appetite there was more than enough for me to eat, in fact I even had to leave some of the chips, so never had desert, I so wanted to try there Clootie Dumpling, well next time I just have desert ;-) Always nice to find a place to eat out that are fine with you ordering small (kids) portions and not thinking you are just to mean to spend money on eating out and paying full price, Thank you to the staff for that.

We jumped in while waiting for the bus to spend our time somewhere. The food was great and the staff was very kind, we had a great chat with the bartender who was entertaining us and gave us a lot of advice, so it has been a very good start of our holiday!

Dined here, as staying in hotel and did not fancy walking into Campbeltown to find a restaurant so it was easier to stay put. Booked for 7.30 but they called us to put us back to 8.30 as they had a party booked in. They then call our room at around 7.20 to ask can we come now but no as we weren't ready. Agreed we'd come asap around 7.45. Party of 10 had grown to 14 and were very very noisy. Couldn't here ourselves speak. My starter of scallops, expensive but tasted fine. My halibut was tasty and enjoyed the meal. One of my sisters thought the langoustines were overcooked and again expensive. Steaks and lasagne were eaten with my sisters saying yes all good. Service all good and then breakfast in the morning. Menu very good, service a bit haphazard but friendly waitress and all enjoyed that meal too.

Lovely warm welcome followed by excellent service. I had the beef burger for dinner and can honestly say that it was the best burger I have ever eaten and I have had burgers all over the world. The beer’s were great and finished off the night with a few whiskeys from their very comprehensive list. Brilliant place. I will be back.

Met up with a friend for lunch today. ALWAYS reliably happy with our meals at The Esplanade over the many years.... But today's young chef was very astute with his skills. We had *Cullen skink, the baguette was fresh and warmed....so often it is not; (it's the little things like this that make you come back,), *fish n chips, and *incredibly chunky steak pie, with a lid rising up to the ceiling I'm my opinion all 3 meals really were the best examples on the island. Well done to: *The Esplanade for keeping up the standards of quality which bring people back * The Chef * The always friendly and helpful waitress 😁 (Love the new curtains and furnishings 😁)

I am giving you an excellent review based on previous visits but arrived Thursday 14th November at 11:15 and it was closed. Website says open at 10:00 and opening time on door says 10:30. Several people left disappointed during my 20min seat on bench. Off to Port Bannatyne for my brunch. Can you update your opening hours on door and social media platforms.

My family came in yesterday after spending a great night at the Lodge for my uncles 80th birthday. They were out for a walk in the morning and popped into the coffee shop on my recommendation. They all told me how rude the lady was that served them. She banged the chair down next to them with a face like thunder. She was very aggressive. My father was so annoyed he told me he was ready to just walk out. Very disappointing after I told them to come in. Maybe she was having a bad morning, Im not sure what was going on with her but its not a nice way to treat customers. Oh and my dads coffee was cold too. Not so good. It makes me sad because Ive been in a lot and always been happy with the service and the food.
