Called here for a Sunday Dinner whilst reviewing in the area. Good choice of drinks on offer, all reasonably priced. Staff were chatty and polite. Establishment is clean throughout, and the toilets were immaculate! We particularly enjoyed the 'Football goals' in the gents urinals 🤣. Rather an unusual feature in the pub is the Old village Well....under a slab of glass and illuminated to the bottom! They have a coin slot in the glass to 'make a wish' and All money goes to charity, nice touch. Meals arrive very quickly, and our one grumble was that 2 of us only like 'peas and carrots'. The barman told us that they were in a tourine and we could put on what vegetables we wanted. Unfortunately the Peas were mixed in with Cabbage and Broccoli (Yuk!). Also note that the only difference we could see between a small meal (£8.25) and a Large meal (£13.95) was one more slice of meat! Not sure the Extra £5.70 for a slice of meat is worth it!! There was no WiFi available as there was a problem with the Modem due to a lightening strike. Dogs are welcome in the pub too. Overall a pleasant meal. 🚩Location 9/10 🍽Meals 6/10 🚻Staff Performance 8/10 🚮Cleanliness 9.5 🌐Wifi 0/10 🐕Dogs Welcome- Yes ⚠️Negatives- Vegetables mixed up together. Expensive slice of meat for a 'Big One'.

Overall happy with the accommodations. The rooms are HUGE compared to most place we stayed and the showers were hot and worked well. I initially thought the beds were too hard however I slept like a log every night. Overall happy with the hotel.

We must have been here many times. It's neither special nor bad. At the last visit about 3 weeks ago the food was good but the service was very slow indeed. We were offered second drinks free to compensaste for that

We are regulars at this excellent establishment......sometimes just for a quick drink but usually for a meal too. We live in Snaith so this is one of our locals....and the fact it is the Tap Pub for real ale from our very own local Old Mill Brewery is a BIG BONUS We used to come here years ago for the always excellent & plentiful carvery meal on a Sunday, but since moving to Snaith we now make it our usual place to bring friends & family when they visit or simply for us to treat ourselves to a meal out.... It may not be the cheapest place to eat in Snaith, but it never disappoints with the quality of food & service Well worth calling in....and have a pint of Red Goose if on tap......or Blonde Bombshell for the lager lovers

Would recommend a visit to this pub. They offer a wide selection of varied pub food menu dishes at reasonable prices. Staff are friendly and there's a good selection of beers on draught. Nice cosy atmosphere.

Met friends for a meal here tonight after travelling just under 2 hours. Was quite underwhelmed by the minimal menu and only one dish being offered on the specials board, especially, on a Saturday night. Opted for the chilli with chips. So glad one of my friends ordered garlic bread, otherwise, I would have called at a takeaway on the way home due to the small portion placed in front of me. Think I counted no more than 20 chips to accompany my chilli, which, thankfully, the chilli was very nice, but, more chips were needed. Used the garlic bread to scoop up the remaining chilli. My husband ordered the steak, his usual order. But, thought this was very over-priced. Especially, when it was meant to be a 10oz Rib-eye. Sadly, it looked like a 6oz minute steak, and, at just under £22 was well over-priced. Could not believe there was no gammon on the menu !! Will definitely not return. Especially after the waitresses attitude. They could not wait to get rid of us to set up for the b&b's for the morning. No wonder so many pubs are shutting down. The whole place was abandoned by 9.15pm.

Been to the Brewers more times than I care to remember and never had a bad meal/drink here. Daily specials are very popular and the choice of beers is great. Never actually stayed over night but I've been told the rooms are very clean/modern/comfortable. I would highly recommend the Brewers to anyone for a meal with the family or just for a few beers.

Good mix of pub food on menu with local dishes that are of a good quality and size at a reasonable price. The pub is well decorated with interesting wishing well in bar area. The beer is of locally made craft beer apart from the usual pump beers with a good selection of wines available.

Not a huge menu to pick from but something for everyone. Always cooked to a good standard and large enough portions. I have had the Veggie Lasagne a few times and always enjoy it.

Not even interested. I rang them and began to ask about eating there at lunchtime on a Saturday. I got as far as saying my fiance would have liked a ploughmans and I was cut dead by him saying "yeah we wouldn't be able to do that, it's not on the menu". "Oh" I said. " No, bye". And that was it, he was gone. I never even got chance to ask whether I would be able to have anything gluten free.

The perfect place to stop and have a drink on our walk around the town. Nice range of beers and good quality wine for a 'house' wine.

Laughable portion size"The title sums it up, we thought a visit to the Wellington Hotel for a meal was in order, the new menu is priced very much towards the very top end of what is acceptable for pub grub,so we had been put off from going before. Now new under stewardship they have definitely given the place some much needed TLC, but the chairs and tables are really cramped in the eating part of the bar area. So we selected a small fish and chip meal for ourselves. Well when it arrived we just laughed, they will never be accused of anything under the trade description act, it (the meal was so small) it was tasty, but is was more the size of a starter. Not sure what the fish was, but if you stripped away the batter then a search party for the fish would be needed. So we went home for something to eat!

Today, I had the pleasure of taking my family to Wingfield Farm in Hessle for a Sunday carvery, and I honestly couldn’t be more impressed — especially with the amazing service we received from Irene. From the moment we arrived, she went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and comfortable. Irene's warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care for our experience stood out from the get-go. She made sure everything was perfect for us, catering to our every need with a smile that made us feel right at home. It’s rare to come across someone so passionate about what they do, and it truly made our visit feel special. The carvery itself was delicious — hearty, fresh, and just what we needed — but it was Irene’s outstanding service that turned a lovely meal into a memorable family day out. Thank you, Irene, for your kindness and top-tier hospitality. You’re a real gem, and Wingfield Farm is lucky to have you!

Pre booked for a group of 8 and was told there are no tables because people have just sat anywhere,I should have taken that as a warning! We decided to take two separate tables. I had a look around and decided I wasn't eating there. The hot food looked dry and half the items were unavailable including plates. They only had toast and crumpets for the continental, and containers of cereals but no dishes and milk even the coffee machine was empty. We have eaten here numerous times in the past but I really cannot imagine what on earth has happened to this place.A year ago it would have got a 10 out of 10, now it is not worthy of a 1, but 0 is unavailable. Please shut this place down it is dragging the cookhouse name down, which is such a shame!

Fantastic pub, with a great friendly atmosphere. The outdoor setup in summer is great with a huge outdoor marquee and loads of outdoor seating. They run great live music nights and have a large tv for sporting events. Cosy fireplace inside and dog friendly. The food is a very special addition with some amazing things on offer and the mid week specials are at a fine dining level. Highly recommended.
