Good authentic food but below average service! Like most of the Indian restaurants in the UK, standard of service dips below Mariana Trench if they see one of their own. Thus, if colour of your skin is white, then dine in otherwise takeout.

The team at Old Delhi hosted 11 of us for a birthday meal and it was a great experience! The food was delicious, we received great service and they even provided a birthday dessert with a candle. We’d recommend the restaurant as a great option for people visiting Oxford, and want to say a big thank you to the team😊

Hubby and I went on a Wednesday night. Service was friendly and efficient. Typical Indian menu, we had the sizzling starter for 2 which packed a good punch followed by our usual Lamb Madras and Paneer Makhani with mushroom rice and keema naan to share. All cooked really well. Would recommend if in need of a decent curry while in Oxford.

Pathetic experience overall! It was really hot and they didnt have AC’s or fans! Service was super slow. Food was good however.

Yummy but not very spicy so not quite what I was looking for.

I had lunch here very nice and quiet place. The food was delicious I loved my curry (lamb Hyderdabi) have never had such curry before super flavourful, not spicy and sweet, but not too much… delicious. The waitress was very kind and smilingly all the time.

We had Jemsy serve our table and she was absolutely incredible. This is our second time here and we had Jemsy both times - she has been nothing but wonderful. Additionally, the food is extremely fresh, delicious, and tastes homemade! 5/5 for everything☺️

I had a wonderful experience at the Old Delhi in Oxford! I went there for lunch and was thoroughly impressed. The food was delicious, full of authentic flavours and perfectly spiced. Every dish we tried was fresh and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly and attentive, making us feel very welcome at the moment we walked in. The restaurant is well-organized and spotlessly clean, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Overall, Old Delhi offers a fantastic dining experience with top-notch food and excellent service. I’ll be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for great Indian cuisine in Oxford!

Excellent little Indian restaurant. Diverse, fresh and beautifully seasoned. Between courses there were always little greetings from the kitchen. Extremely good.

This was one of my favourite restaurants ever great service and great food. The food came really quickly and I loved how I can pick the spiciness of the food. Highly recommend.

Good place to eat. Saag Paneer was really very tasty but bhindi masala better avoid. Overall good place with lots of space and very good staff.

Currently sat here, waited 30 minutes before any staff came over. 40 minutes in and only just got drinks. One out of chutney and 1 popadom each for £2. Atmosphere wise, feel like I’m sat in a fast food joint minus the fast. Also been told my starter, on the starter menu takes too long so comes out with the main… not much of a starter Hopefully the curry is worth the wait

Some of the nicest staff members I have visited. Very talkative and polite. I opted to go for the Bombay Aloo and it was brilliant. Would happily return.

Food was just okay. Tried lamb hyderabadi and chicken machusi. Both were good. Prices were high. Naan shouldn't be priced at 4.5£ imo. The ambience was good. Servicing was the best part. That girl Divya served us really well. She knew the manners and was too kind to us. Overall good experience

The food was 10/10!! I had the Madras curry and it was perfect. I was also very impressed with the ambience in Old Delhi alongside the excellent service I received. Definitely visit if you’re in Oxford and craving some authentic Indian food!

The restaurant is next to the parking lot which makes easier to access. The staffs were very polite and friendly, we ordered chilli paneer, onion bajji, veg jalferaji, dal makhni, naan & veg biriyani. All the dishes tasted its best. They have a good seating facility for families, washrooms are very clean and neat. Must visit!

Try opening your mind to eat this time of year. The food is delicious, clean, easy to eat.. reasonable price. The restaurant is about 300 meters from the parking lot in the center of Oxford. Walk up (right hand side). Atmosphere in the store Doesn't smell bad ,The employees dress cleanly and don't scratch the eggs before serving😅 Order FF and make no mistake, afraid you won't be able to eat anything.🤣🤣

one star for the actually tasty tikka masala. Centuries long waiting, man, 20 mins for getting a waiter to take your order, another 50 mins for first dish to come, another 15 mins for your lassi In my country, I would finish my order in 2 mins by qr code, get my food in 15-20 mins and get out the restaurant in 30 mins in totally. that is unacceptable long

A restaurant that makes you hungrier, what a novel idea. Food took an age to arrive. We got our starter after a bit of a wait, but the main came so long after I was feeling hungrier than before the starter. Everything on the menu is spicy, literally just a Korma off the mains that doesn't have a chili next to it. Not a problem for me because I like spicy food, but be warned in case you're dining with someone who doesn't. They won't be able to eat any of it. My advice is, if you're the kind of person who enjoys punishingly spicy food, don't go to the restaurant! o/Order it in, clear your entire evening (because it might take some time to arrive) and enjoy the spice as much as you can before you need a lie down. No way you'll be wanting to eat here and then go out after, too spicy and everything will be closed by the time your food arrives anyway.

Ambience is good and they recieved us with a warm welcome, we have ordered chilli chicken,butter chicken,tandoori roti and garlic Naan, mango Lassi... chilli chicken is not up to the mark but butter chicken tastes good and mango Lassi is ok ok, roti and Naans are too good...felt the items prices are a bit expensive...overall experience is good.

Had dinner here with friend family. Ordered the masala and the korma lamb and the chicken, side with naan and rice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Taste and quality of the food is perfect. The Raj lager is recommended. Would be great if they can provide IPA draft.

We took friends here and enjoyed it a lot. Quiet atmosphere and the dishes were a bit of a variation than what we have had in other places but with a good twist.

Food was pretty nice, nothing out of the ordinary, but no complaints. Unfortunately I walked an hour to get here and was disappointed. The Tuesday night service was SO slow. Restaurant only about one third full, I think there was a manager and one server, but the kitchens were backed up and unable to cook any faster. There were no events on and seemingly no reason for a delay. Even drinks orders were delayed. I would have ordered more food and drinks, but they weren't forthcoming, and nobody visited the table to check how the food was or if I wanted anything, so I left as soon as I'd finished my main dish.

Some of the best Indian cuisine that I have had, and at refreshingly reasonable prices. Thank you for a great experience!

We went as a big group and hadn’t booked, but the staff was super accommodating. Had the non-veg sharing platter as a starter which was a great start. For the mains we had some curries and nan and we absolutely loved it! Huge shoutout to Kapil for looking after us so well! Highly recommend!

Came in when pretty much empty. Ordered food. Took 30 mins to receive the drinks, another 20 mins to get some of the starters which were of poor quality. After an hour and 15 minutes there we had to leave and go somewhere else. Nobody else actually had food there.

The food here is AMAZING! Must try their cheese chilli naan. We had a really good time.

The food is quite nice ( we ordered Bombay aloo and chicken dhansak with naan ) it’s not too spicy . The service is a bit slow so I’d recommend ordering everything in one go !

Above average Indian food but not the best service. May be it was a one off for them but our experience wasn’t the best. Very slow service because they were too busy catering to a large group. Would recommend for the food but not for the service.

Ordered takeaway. Said it would be 30 mins, arrived and had to wait a further 40 mins. Gave a poppadom as an apology! Chicken tikka marsala was the worst we’d ever tasted. Mild prawn curry was very spicy. Will not be ordering again. Very disappointed.

Food was fresh and flavourful! We had the panner tikka shashlik and chicken bhuna and both were delicious and some diners at the next table said they loved the goan fish and the biryani so going to try that next time!

High prices for nothing worse experience nonprofessional workers if you see the restaurant run away because you will face the nightmare, I paid 52 pounds for nothing

While the restaurant may appeal to those who haven't experienced food in Delhi, it falls short of capturing the authentic flavors of Old Delhi. I ordered the Paneer Tikka Masala and Tarka Dal. Unfortunately, only the Tarka Dal met my expectations for genuine taste. In terms of service, the waitstaff were commendable, but the manager seemed disinterested in attending to guests, which detracted from the overall experience. As for pricing, it is excessively high relative to the portion sizes provided. Given these factors, I find it difficult to recommend this restaurant for an authentic Indian lunch or dinner, as there are likely better options available elsewhere.

We ordered saag, roti and samosa. The service was extremely slow and took 50 minutes to get the food on a Saturday morning. Also the samosa had curd and that’s a problem if you assume it will be vegan. Also saag had paneer without no reason again problem for vegan

This hotel is very unfriendly to Chinese people. I just arrived in Oxford yesterday, I was very hungry and it was late, so I chose this restaurant nearby. After entering the hotel, I asked a male clerk how to order. Seeing that I was Chinese, he replied very perfunctorily and rudely: wait. After a while, he said again: one minute. But I waited, and he ignored me. Then after a while I asked him where to find the menu, and he rudely told me to go back and sit down. I was already very angry at this time, but since I was here for a trip, I just endured it. Next, I was ordering, and I asked him politely what was different about the dishes. When he saw that I was not ordering directly, he just asked me to wait for a while and tried to refuse me. I say NO. He was very reluctant. Then I didn’t know if he helped me order food, so he left directly. Then I waited another 15 minutes, during which time there was no water and no one came to ask me if I needed help. I got angry later and asked him directly why he discriminated against Chinese people, and he tried to defend himself. Miraculously, after I questioned his discrimination against Chinese people, he quickly prepared the dishes and delivered them to me. This Nepali guy is very poor and has no sense of service. I really don’t recommend him.

Have used the Old Deli for several mid week lunches in our City Centre office. With only a days notice they have done a fantastic Job of arranging a wonderful lunch for the whole team (20 ppl). Food was absolutely delicious. Can highly recommend.

It is a great Indian restaurant with a decent variety of dishes from across the subcontinent. We enjoyed the Tikka Massala and Rogan Josh style chicken. The staff is friendly and attentive! Definitely recommend!

It was fully empty … mango lassi ordered was white in colour . Aloo tikki was fried in bad oil … food was very bad and the quality reallt bad .

We ordered butter chicken, lamb biryani, chicken korma, keema. For the drinks, we order lassi. Overall, the food was very tasty and generous portion sizes, and the service was great.

Visited Old Delhi today with my wife. The food and atmosphere was amazing, with excellent service. The host surprised us with an amazing birthday present for my wife, which was a nice and thoughtful touch. Highly recommend this restaurant

A beautiful paneer bhuna, with naan and rice, and a lovely Raaj IPA. Very friendly service. I would definitely come back next time I am working in the area.

Had a really lovely meal, all the dishes and sides were delivered quickly and were extremely tasty. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all a great experience and I'll be back.

Went in on a whim and was absolutely blown away. Every single dish I tried was good. If you are a chaat lover their papri chaat is amazing (papri chaat as a dish may not be for everyone but if it is for you then theirs is amazing), some of the best I've had in the UK. Their mixed Delhi sizzler (see video) was also just incredibly spiced and cooked, one of the best I've had. I also recommend their Malai kofta, especially the kofta itself was incredibly well done. Lastly, their Gulaab Jamun are as good as in India itself, I loved every single bite. I will definitely be coming back (though most likely for a special occasion!)
