SMART FISH CHIPS in Oxford

Easily the worst fish and chips I've ever had.

Used to be the best fish and chips a year ago, now its over priced and the chips are literally oven chips like they are bought from deltys, total waste of £30 it all ended up in the bin from all four of us.

Just bought 2 fish 2 small sausages and chips.....fish not cooked Batter soggy..not fried long enough Chips total mishmash..didnt know if they were chips or frys Will not be going back

Fish wasn't cooked properly and it was well to greasey and chips look and tastes like they were yesterday

Chips look like they have been bought from the shop around the corner. ( a bag oven chips ) The chips were cold and taste awful. The man behind the counter was saying how he is full of flu , why are you working near food if you are ill. The place has gone down hill

Terrible Experience - Avoid This Place I wish I could give zero stars. This restaurant has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I placed an order late at night, waited over an hour, only to later find out the restaurant was closed. When I called the next morning to inquire about my order, the owner shouted at me, accused me of fraud, and hung up. Later in the day, the delivery driver called me, shouted at me, and threatened to leave the food anywhere because he "had no patience." The app falsely marked my order as "delivered," but nothing was ever delivered. When I called the restaurant again to resolve the issue, they hung up on me as soon as I introduced myself. This is not an isolated incident. I know several people who have also had terrible experiences with this place, from rude staff to deliveries being carelessly dropped in the rain. Their complete disregard for customers is shocking. Avoid this restaurant at all costs. If you value your time, money, or basic human decency, find somewhere else to order from. This place is a disgrace.

We’re to start Went there for a kebab and came out with a wrap And charged me £7.20 for the pleasure Wouldn’t be getting anymore of my custom and if they won’t further custom from other people need to employ staff that know the difference between a kebab and a wrap If I wanted a wrap I would of gone to Jake’s

I brought a large portion on chips today 1st June and looked and tasted like the night before won't be going there again

Very poor food its not like it used to be batter on fish is never crisps and chips always look like warm ups

It's a chippy serving hot food, with good portion sizes in a good time. Who needs atmosphere? Very handy for the Kassam Stadium and only 12 mins from the ground.

Posh fish down to hill,mediterinean Marston down to hill,Iffley road down to hill,Abingdon road down to hill this one best so far now, price is cheaper and taste is much much better ☺️ Best Chip shop around

From the moment, I came inside I was welcome with amazing service and outstanding quality of food. Highly recommended!!

We went in just before closing, they didn’t take card but they directed us to the closest working atm. When we returned all employees were so happy and helpful, very large portion sizes which was a plus :) all employees made sure you felt welcome, you could have a good time whilst you were waiting and the food was very good, highly recommend.

Lovely staff. Accommodated a large group of us after walking football and gave us a great discount for 13. Lovely friendly staff..couldnt do enough for us. Highly recommended if you are in this area.

The food was amazing and massive portions! I ordered 3 sausages & 2 large chips and the owner asked “how many people are the chips for?”. I replied “3 of us”and he said “there’s to many chips for the 3 of you”. He was right to as 1 large chips were massive and went 3 ways! The man could could sold another portion of chips but he went out his way to make sure we didn’t over order and waste our money! Very reasonably priced too!

From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with friendly smiles and genuine warmth. The staff was incredibly attentive, patiently answering my questions and offering recommendations with enthusiasm. It felt like I was visiting a favorite aunt's kitchen, not just a fast food joint. And then came the food...oh, the glorious food!

The present owners have turned this in to one of the best chip shops in oxford, and luckily it's on my door step. The chips and fish are always good, and the portions always generous, me and the wife always find a portion between us is more than enough.

Chips was frozen!! After waiting 10 + minutes got home to frozen chips in the bag… took it back and they was busy I get that but the disrespect that come out there mouth about they don’t care that kids would of been eating it and a pregnant woman saying about giving out freebies but then as soon as they make a mistake it’s everyone else’s fault … NEVER had a problem before but not ever going to go back again… Not first time chips was frozen in a batch but this was only time we took it back due to not going to eat frozen chips for dinner.

Been using this chippy for years. Cannot fault them, good is excellent, very tasty,cooked fresh,and the staff are very friendly, especially Ali. Always a pleasure to have a conversation with him while waiting. Generous portions as well. Their new range of chicken is to die for. Highly recommended.
