2024. NOV 6TH. I've enjoyed a few drinks with some delicious squid. It was quiet due to the time so I had a chat with staff. Absolutely delightful folk here. Welcoming and professional.

Turned up hoping to get a table for 3 people to dine in. No tables was available and not sure how long the wait would be. Apparently you’re supposed to book in advance. Went elsewhere instead. Disappointing!

came to browns on a Sunday night and the atmosphere was lovely! we all enjoyed our food - some vegetable and seafood dishes. but the night ended off with a sighting of Mr brown himself - a mouse we saw twice near our dinner table. when we told the waitress about this, she looked at us unbothered and said that seeing mice is not unexpected “in a city as old as Oxford”. and shrugged it off. Very reassuring 🥲

Fillet steak was great. Seafood platter was ok, prawns were too dry. Order one of their virgin cocktails.

I cannot fault the atmosphere, service and food of this superb restaurant in Oxford. I recommend in going again.

Ingrid was a lovely server she engaged with all of us to ensure we would be happy with our menu selection which we were! The food and drinks were amazing with perfect portion sizes and buckets of flavour.

The venue is lovely, well decorated and comfy seats. We had pre booked for 16 people. The service was ok, the waiter was friendly enough but even though we had pre ordered food and arrived on time it was nearly 25 mins until starters arrived. The waiter did apologise and bring some free olives. We did provide a bday cake which they stuck some candles in, but then just put some plates and a knife on the side. The food was great, starters were tasty and the steak was well cooked and all food arrived together and was hot, even if delayed slightly. The final part of the "experience" was at the end of the evening pointing out to the waiter there was a mouse running along the floor back and forth. After seeing this and reporting it back to the other staff we were told "well its an old building and there are mouse holes in the skirting". Dare I say not the best explanation 🤦

The best birthday ever!! Ilyas was fantastic, providing exceptional service and really making the day special. The lobster was absolutely beautiful, perfectly cooked and delicious. As for the bottomless brunch—it was truly bottomless! We never ran out of Champagne, and it kept flowing throughout. Thanks, Ilyas, for making it a birthday to remember. Couldn't have asked for a better celebration!

Absolutely love this place. Been to many Browns before and this is my favourite. Incredible staff, great atmosphere and always fantastic food. Shout out to Eder who served us - and gave us the perfect wine recommendation. Don't be put off by this being a chain, it certainly doesn't feel like it. Such a gem!

Fantastic Birthday lunch! Easy booking online. Great atmosphere with friendly staff. Wide ranging menu for all tastes - particularly enjoyed the steak and an array of delicious sides. Our experience was made extra special thanks to the lovely Aurelia who was so friendly and attentive, taking care of all our requests graciously and swiftly. Also a very special gesture was a complimentary surprise birthday dessert presentation which rounded off a perfect birthday lunch! Thanks so much - we look forward to returning again soon.

My daughters 40th birthday. What a wonderful experience food amazing, service amazing they brought her a plate with happy birthday wrote in chocolate and put a candle in the cake and sang happy birthday. Our waiter was attentive, polite and friendly what a lovely man.

As a Level 7 Google Local Guide, I visited this fine establishment in Oxford UK. I had the steak and eggs. The eggs were done of the best I've ever eaten. The steak was perfect. My wife had the Traditional Breakfast. Her meat portion was huge. Everything was very tasty and perfectly seasoned. The atmosphere of the restaurant was upscale. The service was superb. John, or waiter, understood what we preferred as Americans and he accommodated us. He certainly belongs in a high end establishment such as this. I am very impressed. Everyone I visit Oxford, I will visit Browns. They have my to recommendation.

Visited a couple of weeks ago with some friends, food was great as was the service. Alberto was lovely and kept us well entertained for the evening.

Had bottomless brunch here with my girlies and this was the best bottomless brunch service I've had in Oxford. Our host Aurelia was amazing. So attentive and made sure our glasses never ran dry - unlike other places in central Oxford. Couldn't recommend this place enough, especially for the price point.

We went for the Afternoon Tea. Good food and attentive service. All you can drink coffee/tea is included in the £25.00 per person price, which we found to be great value (Sept 2024). Quiet, clean and tasty. Recommended!

Alberto was a real pro - beautifully attentive and gently entertaining. My husband spent the afternoon lingering over a roast lunch while waiting for me to return from a meet-up elsewhere and I then enjoyed a delicious vegetarian dish. Have visited Browns intermittently over the years and am always pleased to be back.

I was booking for a large group (25). Team were very responsive and helpful when I had queries prior to date of meal. On the day, we felt very welcome, and well looked after by Eder. Food was really good too - no complaints at all

Browns Oxford, We had a large group booking of 10 people for a birthday. Browns staff were good and the food arrived was hot and tasted good. There was some crab shell in one of the orders, but that was the only negative. Due to its location parking is difficult but use the park and rides or train for central Oxford. Would return.

One of 'the' restaurants in Oxford. Been around for an age. Goes through phases, but it's a fun spot and well worth a visit.

Visited today, we had the chicken schnitzel, it was dry, Tough and tasteless, but did come with a perfectly cooked egg, My partner had the surf and turf, the steak wasn’t seasoned and the lobster was bland and served with an empty Claw no meat in it what so ever!! The food was bland to say the least! The waitress was nice, for what we spent could get nicer meals elsewhere! Probably won’t return.

Met up with friends here for lunch and had a wonderful time. The decor is elegant and relaxing. Food portions were generous, and ingredients were of quality. We had different dishes and were happy with our choices. We equally enjoyed the decent tasting house rosé. The staff were welcoming, friendly and professional. A big thank you to our waiter Alberto who served us with a huge amount of professionalism, patience and humour!

I ordered a 30£ 12oz Sirloin medium, the most average piece of meat I have ever seen. I can cook that better with my eyes closed, 0 flavor, meat quality bellow a choice grade.
