My friends and I went for lunch and a cocktail, and we were really impressed by the experience. The food was amazing, the drinks were refreshing and Aurelia, our waitress, made the experience extra special. We will absolutely visit again.

Amazing Good Friday lunch at a brilliant restaurant in the heart of Oxford. The food was universally delicious and the set menu was VERY reasonably priced considering the quality! What made the meal though was the amazing service from John (our main waiter) at the excellent team at Browns Oxford. He was such good fun, perfectly attentive and nothing was too much effort for John and his colleagues! I wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful restaurant

I treated my sister to a bottomless brunch, the drinks flowed, the food was lovely and our waiter Ilyas was an absolute delight, so friendly and attentive. We couldn’t have asked for more, thoroughly enjoyable brunch 😃

We went there for my wife’s birthday dinner, just to two of us, not being there before. We were not sure what to expect but the food was great, as well as the recommended wine. Our host Aurelia made sure we have everything we needed, always around with a smile and made our evening perfect!

We were a large group and Eder did a great job !! The space is beautiful, lovely wine list . My advice is to order simply : onion rings were some of the best I have ever had , the lobster pasta was excellent, other items missed .

Do not expect good and friendly service here. They only do things by the book and rudely serve and collect the dishes. As if you are eating there for free. Their chairs are the most uncomfortable and their food was eatable, not delicious, just eatable for the price charged. This is from my personal experience of having been there twice on two years. The Asian waiter is impolite and seemed like he was in the wrong job as there is no service mind.

We were walking by and decided to have a little look on what browns was. Little did we know we were taken by the menu and served by an absolutely amazing waitress called Aurelia who genuinely gave us the best experience possible as she was funny, kind and very welcoming and attentive towards us. The food was also presented beautifully and was extremely delicious and well priced for the portion sizes and genuinely made a wonderful date experience. Definitely would recommend if you want to treat your partner to seafood.

We had a 21st birthday meal for our grandsons. The food was gorgeous. Our waitress, Aurelia, was wonderful. Everyone had a fabulous time.

Worst afternoon tea I have endured. Luke warm coffee, stale scones microwaved to within an inch of their lives to soften them but if left to cool they turn back into stale rocks. Cakes were poor, sandwiches were average for a sandwich but poor for what should be a high end establishment. Service was good! Sorry Browns but you really need to improve.

I had my birthday lunch here with my family, including grandchildren. We had a great time, the food was excellent & we had delicious cocktails AND a plate with Happy Birthday was brought to the table with a profiterole, strawberry & cream which was such lovely surprise.. All of the staff were very friendly & professional. I had fish pie & my only complaint is that there was fish skin in the pie which I don't like but it was nevertheless was one of the best I've had. Other people had Shepherd's Pie, Hamburger, Pumpkin Ravioli, Portobello Mushroom & Halloumi Burger. All a great success.

A quiet Sunday evening so the atmosphere wasn't great but the service and food was excellent. The sharing seafood platter to start was well worth it and the rib eye steak I had was perfect. My wife wanted cod but it was off the menu and they substituted Monkfish in its place. Top notch !

Went for brunch. Food was good, pancakes were a bit sweet but Benedict eggs were really good. The atmosphere wasn't what we expected but still fine.

Fave spot for a bit of bottomless. Huge shoutout to Ilyas who made us feel more than welcome. This is by far the best experience I have had in Oxford and Browns really should be the baseline for all places which aspire to provide a bottomless brunch with class. We will definitely be back, thank you once again for your impeccable hospitality!

Service excellent as always but disappointed in quality of food today, shepherds pie, sloppy meat and mash on top, flavourless, cold burger and dry Yorkshire pudding disintegrated into dust when cut.

The waiter with glasses and brown hair was very rude. My chicken skewers were RAW. When dealing with it, the server took my chicken skewers and half my sourdough which was also on my plate. It was a horrific start to the meal to say the least. The bill was dealt with accordingly but still affected our 1 year anniversary. The waiter seriously needs to learn how to deal with a form of complaint and also needs to learn guest experience and customer service. Really poor imo. I would not recommend.

Beautiful and trendy place. The waiter seated us near the window where a cold draft came from. The waiter told us that the window was not well closed but didn’t do anything about it. I kept my jacket the whole time. The restaurant is enormous, with plenty of seats available in warm places. The linguine with prawns and crab: very spicy, full of herbs, greasy, small shrimps, invisible crab. The menu should indicate when a meal is that spicy. The duck starter was good. Pricy wine, but that’s Oxford. Men’s toilet not well maintained with detached and dirty toilet seat.

A cosy spot. This can also be a good choice for business meal. Whilst the taste of food itself is just OK.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch there. Started with nice cocktails followed by a traditional roast. The gravy was the best I had ever tasted. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was just perfect with pianists playing calming background music.

The food pricey for a mediocre meal, and the service was fine, but we had to laugh when they refused to serve our children a simple mocktail. Apparently, a fruit punch with a fancy garnish is a slippery slope! Classic case of woke rules gone wild - virtue-signalling policies that make no sense.

Aurelia was the waitress for our large birthday party, she kindly took photos for us making our time at Browns very special. Aurelia was informative about the menu, attentive and kept our drinks flowing, she brought us a special birthday dessert for the birthday girl - absolutely 5* xxx X7 for everyone at the table who can’t get on the wifi .

We have had an amazing time. Eder gave us advice on our first ever bottomless brunch then we ordered food which was delicious then the bloody Mary’s and Prosecco kept flowing. Service was attentive and not lacking at any point. The whole experience has been wonderful I will be back with many friends. Thank you Browns.

Roast potatoes overdone on one side

Visit last year..We went to lunch yesterday, greeted without a smile as if we were intruding by what i think was a manager, we were then wisked to the table and he walked off without even a smile, we were finally greeted by our waitress around 10 minutes of seating. We ordered and when the food came my daughters burger had a large hair on the burger, lucky she noticed straight away. We told one of the people and they said they would change it. No appology or concern. We starting eating our meal and 15 minutes after asked 3 people if the burger would be long and if they could check, finally almost 20 minutes after the incident the burger arrived, obviously my wife daughter and i had finished our meals.. this actually ruined everyones meal and we had no time to order pudding as we had other commitments. I ordered the Bill ad to my surprise no one apologised for any delays which is basically rood in any restaurant, I was charged for our free cocktail, and i had to make the point that i was not happy paying service so they should take it off (even though I left a cash gratuity as the waitress acknowledged the situation and went to speak to the manager who comped the burger... She was the only person that apologised but actually only did so after i showed discontent We are not cattle and this is not what we expect from one of the oldest restaurants in our city VISIT TODAY We went back today 9th feb as was offered a voucher..and can say i made a mistake by telling them i ws going back as my Roast beef was awful, potatoes hard as stone, cut overcooked and tough.. hard to do with a sirloin ... service was so so .. but 30 minutes after order in a less than half full restaurant for mediocre quality food ,,, Tough Sirloin.. i left half the meat and when they took the plate away no one asked why... 1/2 eaten plate Obviously a reheated yorkshire pudding Again most probably re-heated potatoes as they were so hard i could not bite into them ( my daughters potatoes were fresh) so its worrying that they reserve food) however she stated it was tasteless Gravy very salty Plenty of parsnips carrots and greens which were ok but don't expect to pay 21.95 for edible roast vegetables.. No one happy staff wise don't look comfortable or happy, customers look disgruntled on both visits, but i suppose no one cares as service is added on i wont be visiting again

We were seated and abandoned. After 15-20mins asked "Have you ordered yet?". The tea and selection of pastries arrived and unceremoniously dumped on the table. The pastries were obviously warmed in a microwave (they were chewy, like elastic) and towards the end of our snack my partner discovered what looked like to be mould on the Pain au Chocolate! Very disappointed. Will use Taylors next door for our mid morning tea and cake in future!

Service was attentive, sometimes a little too much. Our needs were catered for, in terms of timings, as we had to leave at a certain time in order to reach the Oxford Playhouse. The food was served efficiently but the starters were quite disappointing, at least for two of us. The 'exotic mushroom' dish with asparagus was undernourished with asparagus - only 1 tip on my plate - and the seasoning underwhelming. The tarragon and vinegar dressing barely breathed, whilst the sourdough was not as advertised in the menu - it crunched like cheap, shop bought loaf. The main courses fared better, where greater depth of flavour emerged, although the green bean side dish had not been tossed in its dressing beforehand : a pre-requisite, I would argue. Dessert loked good but the chocolate torte was not very special and had not been brought to room temperature and tasted, texturally at least, like something more akin to the chocolate fridge cake my then best friend's mum used to make about 40 years ago. The raspberry sorbet that accompanied it was refreshing and tangy, providing a pleasant and necessary contrast.

What can I say?? Well, what can’t I say.. We were looked after by Aurelia, and she is absolutely FANTASTIC!!! Would highly recommend browns Oxford, fantastic service!!!!

It was my 30th birthday meal on Sunday - been to Browns on numerous occasions and my most recent visit with Ingrid as our waitress was by far the most special of them all! Thanks Ingrid for everything!

Fantastic meal celebrating my daughters partners birthday in the private room. Ingrid was very hospitable and went out of her way to help make it even more of a special occasion for us. A wonder assets to the Browns team!

From helping me set up my decorations to having such fantastic customer service and also arranging a special birthday dessert for my partner, she is by far the best waitress I have ever come across and would go back to Brown’s purely for her service!
