Nice old traditional pub, lack of staff for a busy mid week afternoon. The toilets are disgusting and the smell rises up the stairs and into the bar. Shame, update them and it would get better reviews. Don’t pretend it’s due to its original decor etc, they definitely need to be replaced.

We went there last night , the bar staff were so so rude . I asked if they served peroni and the girl behind the bar crossed her arms and leant back ‘no’ she smirked and then laughed in my face with the barman. Which red wines do you have ? “Red wine” was her answer. Literally the worst service I have ever experienced. 8 of us went in but we won’t bother going back.

No longer an old coffee house but instead a really cosy and traditional pub with a lovely friendly atmosphere. It’s very large so even on a busy evening there’s plenty of spots to relax in your group and there’s loads of artwork and history on the walls throughout to admire. Good range of drinks are on offer at decent prices and the service is friendly. A wonderful unique place to go for a drink with friends.

Took my father on a Good Beer Guide tour around London. As Camra member, he was so disappointed. There is no way in which this pub should be in latest Good Beer Guide. Beer or Cider weren’t drinkable and we left most of it. The toilets were absolutely disgusting and the smell was unbearable. Would not advise a visit there.

Not sure how this place has gone downhill so rapidly. Used to have a great selection of cask but we're now left with the bare bones sometimes in poor condition, and food isn't served any more. I used to love the bangers and mash. The gents' toilets smell so bad you can taste then in the bar area at the top of the stairs. They also now seem permanently understaffed. Used to love this boozer but I'll be giving it a miss for a while. A real shame.

Old Coffee House is everything the likes of Brewdog and the other gentrified, clean-cut and overpriced bars of London are not. An old style British pub that's best in the Winter with the 80's living-room style carpets (which aren't as sticky and stained as you might expect) a reminder of when times were simpler, the times before you would be charged an arm and a leg for a lager or Guinness that was flatter than the atmosphere at the Emirates stadium on a January mid-day. The food is purely simple and no-frills. You're not here for the food though, you're here for the conversation about the quirky pictures of celebrities and post-war signs and visuals littered across the walls and a cold beer or two in the heart of Soho.

The Old Coffee House - Soho A fascinating pub on the borders of Soho, Leicester Square and Carnaby Street, with a brilliant collection of eclectic art on the walls that manages to look complementary rather than random. Degas art prints, wartime propaganda posters, stuffed fish in real fish tanks, and more besides. Coffee houses sprang up as coffee was introduced in Europe, and soon got seized on by the Temperance movements but later began to reintroduce alcohol, becoming more pubs than superior ancestors to the Starbucks craze, and this is one of the best examples.

I ordered 2 pints and 2 shots of disarano and got charged £85!!!! This should have been no more than £35. They then refused to pay me back my money as I didn’t get a receipt

The best £30 we ever paid for breakfast ! We booked in advance and we were greeted by 2 lovely and smiling waitresses. We ordered a sweet and a savoury breakfast. Paid about £15 per dish and it was the best breakfast we ever had having in mind we are travelling a lot! People are complaining about others taking photos and that’s absolutely fine. If you don’t like others taking photos then don’t visit. It’s so beautiful so people should be taking photos if they feel like it. Another positive is that we asked for water and they asked us if we wanted tap water instead of trying to make us pay more money. Thank you beautiful team of Peggy Porschen
