Went for a birthday meal for my son. Was a Monday evening so very quiet. Food was superb, as was the service. Staff made it a special evening for my son, thank you. Highly recommend.

Food is delicious, has many dishes I’ve never tasted before all cooked to perfection. Ambience is very regal, spacious and relaxing. Staff are extremely helpful and engaging without being intrusive. We enjoyed our visit and will certainly come again next time we are in Derby. Good job Waleed!

This was exquisite. The staff was amazing , friendly and speedy . They were incredible and truly was of the best members of staff I’ve seen. The food was flavourful and can tell a lot of time and care was placed into each meal . The naan was delectable , the chicken was sublime and the kebab was breathtaking. The rice was different quite literally, so many options mushrooms , pillow simply breathtaking. The atmosphere was different and I’m truly grateful for places like these . Much love

The best Indian restaurant in derby without a shadow of a doubt. Can’t beat the quality of the food and the homely respectful service provided to every customer. I eat here around twice a week and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. I have recommended the okra to large number of friends and family and will recommend this place to anyone that has not yet had the pleasure of eating here.

Visited yesterday with a large group. The restaurant had beautiful decor and felt special on entry. We were all greeted and looked after as soon as we got there. The food was quick to come out and tasty. We weren't rushed and were able to enjoy our evening catching up with each other whilst being looked after by the staff, who were all very courteous. The price was also very reasonable and the cocktails were very nice. The manager made a special effort to make a fuss of our party's special guest at the right moment, which was a lovely surprise. It was a really good evening and I would happily go again.

Okra is a long standing Indian restaurant in Derby, competing with a lot of rivals in the city and surrounding areas. I believe Okra has maintained its authentic standard for a while, hence revisiting last night, unfortunately its standards I felt had slept a little. Okra is located in a perfect central point in Derby with ample parking and car parks near by. It stands proud and can’t be missed. Once you enter, you get a great feeling, a great authentic Indian vibe with great decor. In comparison to new restaurants all heading down the ‘plantation’ route. Our table was booked for 18:30. Our food was served at 19:50. The starters and popadoms are brilliant. Very nice! The level of alcohol and mixers are great with no dilution taking place. The food menu is good, with some good options, however I felt either the presentation could be enhanced and/or there could be foods added to this. The portion sizes are reasonable am to be fair, however could be topped up just a little. The rice portion as are generous. After speaking to my friends, the chicken was hard and the ‘Korma’ and ‘Madras’ dishes weren’t to expectation. Sadly, Okra has slipped a little but not to the point they can’t bounce back. The waiters are all very friendly and smartly dressed, displaying a warm welcome. On average we all spent around £35/40. A nice place, a good option but there are better competitors out there overtaking Okra currently. As a Google reviewer in the top ten percent of restaurants and eateries, I can confidently say this. I hope to see Okra bounce back. Thank you for the experience. 💫

Booked in for a birthday celebration and it turned out to be one of the best, wow the food is amazing the service is top class they do go out their way for customers very polite and caring staff! legends made the day even better from the poppadoms and starters to the mains and even a delightful dessert to top it off it was one of the best experiences I have had in a while the food was absolutely delicious I would highly recommend!!
