Ok Diner in Wyre

Dreadful. Avoid. Dreadful service, dreadful food. Waste of money. The phone didn't stop ringing all night though I can't imagine why people would want to order take away from here when the restaurant food is so bad. Hardly any meat, padded out with vegetables. Food was cold and sauce was dreadful.

Cannot fault anything, from the warm welcome to the brilliant food. Special menu was recommended and was certainly value for money. Fresh cooked food, the mixed starters were very generous, chicken satay was the best I've ever had. Good choice of mains, finished with fritters and ice cream. Will be coming back.

Over one hour 30 minutes on a Tuesday day for delivery. Shocking service. Had to call multiple times. To be told “on its way” like a bad taxi company

We actually set out to dine elsewhere but because we regularly use Oriental for our takeaways we decided to try their restaurant, and what a good choice, the food was excellent the staff were friendly and chatty, although not a large restaurant it was well patronised with most diners having pre booked in fact we got the last table. Just waited 30 minute for a takeaway , stood and watched the staff scratching their heads in confusion as food ready to go was sat on the side in tubs for 5 plus minutes going cold before it was given to a delivery driver , another chap was waiting longer than me who also ordered by telephone he was moaning eventually got his order and came back 4 minutes later as they forgot something , I ordered 3 things they got one wrong and when got home it was cold and disgusting , do not order food from here and waste your money as I will not be ever again ,

We’ve just had a family meal 20 of us for a surprise birthday The service was a little slow Lisa and George couldn’t have worked any harder as there was 2 big parties in, the food was well worth the wait, it took longer than expected but because of that made our night more special as we all were able to catch up , the talking never stopped and the empty plates showed how much we all enjoyed the food As the takeaway is always busy it does sometimes impact in the restaurant but the food is always freshly cooked, always hot and always worth the wait Thank you for a good night

We thought we would give this restaurant a second chance after a disappointing visit last year. My optimism was again squashed with poor service and simply too long to wait for the main course. Don’t think they have the balance of maintaining the restaurant and the takeaway service. One member of staff in the restaurant, attending to the tables, bringing out food, taking telephone orders. After 40 minutes we paid for the food we had and left. We will NOT be going back, Shame as the food was nice

Bit disappointing. We've been ordering from OK diner for years. We love this place and normally we can't complain. Tonight was different. We ordered a Chicken Curry and Shredded Beef, both with boiled rice. I asked for the chicken curry to be extra hot and spicy. The delivery came late by 15 minutes. We waited an hour and fifteen minutes for the delivery. The meal was really bland. The curry was not spicy in any way. We buy a powdered Chinese curry sauce from our local supermarket, that had more kick and was tastier than this currys sauce. We were really disappointed. Sadly this may be our last meal ordered from this place.

We had the evening banquet. The food was really tasty and more than we could manage. The excellent staff gave us ‘doggy bags ‘ for home. We had a very comfortable, pleasant evening with 2 friends and plan to go again.

Wouldn’t let me put no stars !! Do not eat from this place me and my pregnant partner went for a meal and the food was absolutely disgraceful all our food was left and sent back to the kitchen the meat was slimy like it had been left rotting in a container somewhere even had a really bad smell ! The waitress came over and asked us what was wrong we explained and they told us we still had to pay as they brought the food to us we paid nearly £50 for this meal which was taken back to the kitchen and we was still charged alls they kept saying was it’s not in our policy …. I would avoid this place at all cost absolutely riddled and filthy never in my life have a came across a place like this seriously don’t waste your money 🤢

We have love OK diner and supported sit before and during covid. Last order was delivered 2.5 hours after delivery delisted being told 45-60 mins. So have avoided for a while. Tonight ordered explained issue last time food was ordered approx 45 mins… 1 main course missing. 24 mins later still waiting… one meal eaten other person eaten starters and half of delivered main. Called and food cannot be refunded to card Refund in cash received not taking into consideration person 1 has not eaten!! Appalling!! What is going on?

Had a takeaway from here as our usual Chinese (China House) was closed. We definitely made a bad choice! Delivery was very slow and food was dreadful! Chicken noodle soup had absolutely no flavour at all, had to add salt & pepper and soy sauce to make it edible. Spring Rolls were greasy, bland mush and went straight into the bin! Spare ribs were coated in a thick mushy batter so could not eat them either. We have friends who use this restaurant regularly so maybe not their usual chef but it has put us off ordering from here again in the future.

Been a few times and normally is good quality, last few occasions however if has been poor. Wrong order delivered, late deliveries, overcharged for order, replacement order rushed and not cooked properly, chicken was all slimy. No apology offered, just told the manager says thats how it is, well wont be risking again, shame recent experience has tarnished this establishment

Enjoyed take aways many times but decided to eat in on 9 September. Had the set menu for £14.50 (5 courses) soup, mixed starters, duck pancakes, main course - sweet and sour king prawn with noodles and banana fritter. Can't remember when I've enjoyed a Chinese meal more.Service was excellent and paced just right and the drink charges - £2.50 for a glass of house wine and a bottle of Tiger beer were very reasonable.Strongly recommend.

Very reasonably priced, tasty food. Good selection of dishes. Meat and veg cooked in their sauce (rather than sauce added to the container afterwards).

We got a delivery from here on Valentine's evening. We had to wait nearly an hour and a half for our food to arrive, after to being told it was an hours wait. We were ok with this as it was expected that they would be quite busy. The food was rather average, but fine for your typical Chinese takeaway. The one thing that did annoy us, was that the lady on the phone told us the price of £17.80, then the delivery charged us £18.80, even though they had allowed £2.00 for delivery onto our bill. I found this to be quite deceitful and hopefully it won't happen to others. I just wonder if their delivery driver is charging the extra monies for him/herself? Because of the issue we experienced, we will be going elsewhere for our Chinese takeaways in future.

Normally our delivery from OK is very good. This time we were told 1 hr for delivery, after one hour and a half I rang and was told it was on its way. After another half an hour I rang again and was told the order hadn't left the kitchen and would be another half an hour. Very disappointed with this. We were offered no discount and no apology. Won't be ordering from here agin.

Always order my take away from OK diner, quick service, lovely tasting food, great variety and decent priced. Overall a great take away and would recommend to everyone!

A very small well hidden jewel in Thornton Cleveleys. Primarily known as a takeaway, the front of the building is a restaurant. the special is superb value and all dishes are of excellent quality. Drinks are not expensive either. Friendly staff ensure you have a great evening. Highly recommended.

Like many of the people posting here, we had a takeaway nightmare last week. It took them over two hours to deliver the order correctly. 40 minutes was what I was promised, then a further 30 minutes when I called after an hour. And to get the completed order including missing dish, it was over two hours from the original phone call. Read on for the full story. Having ordered a takeaway and been told it would be delivered in 40 minutes, I telephoned the restaurant after an hour to find out what was going on. I was told that the mail would be another 30 minutes. If that was just for me and my wife, that would've been irritating, but as it was also for our 11-year-old son as a treat, this was ridiculous. I spoke to the manager who told me that they would offer me some chilli and salt chicken legs as an apology, but when I asked if they would give me a discount for the inconvenience caused I was told categorically no. When the mail finally turned up at a turned up without the chicken fried rice, which was a further 30 minutes delay. And to recompense us for this horrendous customer services, two cans of diet Coke were offered. The food was not even lukewarm, the quality was very poor, and the customer service non-existent. I have used them before and it has not been this bad. Suffice to say I will never use them again; and I would recommend that you do not either.

Went with my husband for tea, we ate off set meal deal which is slightly more expensive than other deals around and it's not n all you can eat, but the food is delicious and fresh when it comes out, waiters so very pleasant and wine is cheaper than other places. We ordered a takeway for 7 people and was told that delivery would be some 90 minutes so agreed to go and collect it. 30 minutes they said so we arrived on time. It took over an hour to get the food and when we got it home it was very poor indeed. The sweet and sour chicken was an odd colour, the spicy satay prawns had little spice and our vegatarin nephew could not tell that he had a veg. chow mein. What a waste of nearly £70. We will not use this take away again. Such a shame as we had eaten in the restaurant a few times ( but a couple of years ago) and could not believe it was the same chef.

When we telephoned with our order, we were informed that it would be 40 minutes. After several phone calls later, and being informed our food was on it's way, twice, when we only live 10 minutes away, it finally arrived, one hour and 40 minutes later. We have eaten from this excellent takeaway several times. The food is brilliant, but the delivery times are awful .

One of the few chinese takeaways that doesn't produce overly greasy food. Portion sizes are very good and the staff are really friendly and helpful.

Recently had a takeaway from OK. Prompt service, tasty meal and the opportunity to have a drink in the bar / restaurant when waiting for your meal.

We usually order a take-away from here but used the restaurant and had the set menu at £12 a head. The food was great and service excellent. A nice friendly atmosphere and the final bill with drinks was very reasonable. We couldn't even manage room for the sweets we were that full. Will definately return.

Set menu with £2.50 extra for crispy duck.Hot and sour soup perfect warming starter followed by sumptuous mixed platter of wings, ribs, prawn toast, large spring rolls and quite simply the most delicious chicken skewers ever! Plus seaweedThen came the duck, so much I nearly left a bit, nearly..The main course consists of any meal you want from the menu which is nice as most set meals only give you 3-4 choices, there must have been over 50 different dishes to choose from, this comes with a choice of rice or noodles or chips.Totally stuffed, but wait a minute they are now offering me either banana fritter or ice cream, can't take any more.Yes the fritter was delicious as wellSumming up, who needs to, take my word enjoy it while you can this type of heavenly food must be a dream!!!!

Great food. Everything cooked fresh and piping hot. The right amount of time between each course, just enough to let the previous course settle and your hunger build for the next. Main diishes came out a staggered pace. Two came together then a couple of mins later another main then after a couple more mins the next two then finally the last one about 5mins after the first person received their main. The only other let down was the restaurant itself. There is nothing wrong with the decor, it's just that it was freezing in there. No heating at all. Not good in this weather. Apart from that great stuff. Back soon.

Be prepared to wait ages during busy times. I ordered just a curry and rice over the phone and was told it would be 15 mins. Went to collect 15 mins later and had to stand outside with several other people due to the tiny waiting area being full for a further 45 mins !Food was nice but not worth a hour stood in the cold. If it's going to be a hour say it's a hours wait.

The furniture lets this place down plastic garden furniture in places BUT the food is excellent the service is slow waited over 35 minutes between courses before today the tend to cope better when it's busy ?

We have a number of Chinese restaurants near to us, but nowhere compares to the OK Diner for quality of food and service.The banquet menu at £11 per head is exceptional value for money. We have it every time because every course is delicious. The hot and sour soup is actually the best we've tasted anywhere in the UK, or you can have chicken and sweet corn or chicken noodle. The huge hor d'oeuvres platter that comes as part of the banquet is a joy and is always hot, fresh and not overly greasy. Everything on there tastes homemade - for example the chicken satay skewers are proper deep fried pieces of chicken with a thick peanut sauce over them, not the flat, dry, yellow, sorry excuse for chicken you get at nearly all other places.The main courses (includes king prawn and duck dishes for no extra charge) are generous with mountains of rice, noodles or chips. You will not leave hungry; you could feed two people on what is intended for one!! If you can eat the crispy duck course as well (optionally served after the platter at an extra £2.50 per head) you must have hollow legs!!Like ANY restaurant there can be occasional minor slip-ups but nothing worth mentioning here, nor anything that would prevent us from returning. But do me a favour fellow reviewers - before you come moaning on TripAdvisor, have a word with the restaurant concerned and give them a chance to put things right before you come spouting off on here with your one-star reviews!!

We have eaten here with friends on several occasions. They do a very good banquet meal for £11 a head, which if you have the crispy duck, you add £2.50. The food is well cooked, and tastes good. While we looked at the menu we were given prawn crackers and dip. We all chose the banquet, which started with soup. Himself and I had the hot sour soup which was spicy and full of prawns and chicken. We opted for the crispy duck ( the extra £2.50) which arrived after the enormous starter of ribs, Prawn toast, satay chicken and seaweed. Being Bon viveurs (what a load of?!?!) we ate the lot. As part of the banquet, you can choose pretty much whatever is on the main course menu. I went for beef/cashew nut and others went for whatever their little hearts desired. By this time, I and my bestest fiend Caro, were on our 3rd bottle of wine, which was a most acceptable Pinot Grigio. We were that stuffed, no chance of pudding. The piggies we were with ate banana fritters and ice cream.Don't know what the bill was, we were guests, but it was well under what you would expect it to be.Try it!

Ordered 1 x sweet and sour and 1 x noodles. Rang through to place order and was told delivery would be within the hour. After 1hr & 1/2 rang again and they were only just making the noodles. Food arrived 2 hours after phone order placed. No apologies. We've used this Chinese for a couple of years now, but have felt the past 2/3 times of ordering for delivery, the timescale is totally wrong. Sadly after this last experience, we will not use them ever again.

I'm 15 and my Dad treats the family to a chinese from the OK diner every fort night.It is literally my most favorite thing. I get mad cravings for their food.we always order sweet and sour with egg fried rice, crispy shredded chicken,chips and the prawn crackers come as a free bonus.It tastes like no other food. GET YOURSELF DOWN THERE AND HAVE SOME!

I am Chinese myself and so I have a very high standard when it comes to eating out. The OK Diner is Cleveleys best kept secret ! Its main business is the take away attached to it which is always busy. However the restaurant is not neglected. It is quite small but very modern and clean.We have been going to it as a family for over ten years now and it is consistently excellent in terms of quality, value and service. They do a banquet for ten pound per person every day including weekends. You get the largest dim sum platter that I have ever seen in any Chinese restaurant and that's before your main meals ! You also get a desert after. The price of ten pounds has remained the same for years. I would highly recommend this restaurant above any in China town in Manchester or even London.
