Odfellows Arms in Waveney

Booked for Mothering Sunday, this is a quaint little pub/restaurant, with a limited menu. We both had the Roast Pork. The meal was ok and the service was good.

Arrived from Bedford starving lovely warm atmosphere and warm as well ! So many places are cold inside now understandable with the price of utilities but doesn't make you want to linger , Small breakfasts ordered for the 3 of us and wonder of wonder everything was piping hot (even the baked beans) absolutely delicious great coffee too wish we lived nearer 😋

We booked a meal here on our holiday. It was very pleasant and the staff were lovely. However, the food is nothing like the ones shown in the pictures here. It’s gone more towards standard average pub food. Fish and chips, nachos and cheese etc. There must have been a change in chef, as what we were offered was not what we had booked for via the images shown here. Would be better if they changed this to reflect the new menu.

Great place to stop on a warm and sunny day and sink a few of the excellent beers on offer. Sit outside, look over the water and watch the world go by…….heaven. !!

No oddfellows spotted on arrival, in fact the locals I met, despite the sea air were very lovely indeed. I drank and exchanged tales of my travels in Suffolk and was gifted with advice from real Suffolk folk, who may I add certainly weren't odd. Will visit again soon

What a great little pub. Lovely inside and garden area overlooking the sea. Really tasty delicious home cooked pub grub. We were served by Ben who was really great and welcoming. Would highly recommend.

They say dogs are welcome in the bar for lunch, unfortunately that meant eating from the bar menu only, half of this was unavailable. They would not let us eat from the restaurant menu in the bar area. Clearly the are doing well enough without our custom . By the way the bar was empty.

After stopping off on a whim for a lunch, myself and my partner had one of the best meals we've ever had. Very friendly and helpful staff, no delay in the food coming out and the food itself was amazing! Thoroughly recommend this place for anyone who wants great food in a lovely comfortable place

There was a great buzz about this place when we arrived. The staff were really friendly and managed to find us a table on what was a really busy evening. The beer was excellent and the food was tasty and of high quality. I can't wait to return, we had a really lovely evening that was followed by a walk along the sea front as the pub is so close to the coastal path.

We called in for a drink in the afternoon. The two lady bar staff were very friendly and helpful so we went back in the evening to eat there. It was busy so there was a bit of a wait but the food was good and good value.

Yet again, a great value pub meal. Stir fry beef, excellent and a beautifully fresh haddock and delicious chips ( real - not frozen ! ) . A superb meal in a proper "local" with brilliant real ales. The friendly service wasn't bad either.

We had lunch at The Oddfellows on Wednesday and we were so pleased with the food , staff and service that we booked to come back for an evening meal the next day , absolutely brilliant food and friendly staff, would highly recommend.

The food and service was really good and the staff very helpful. The pub was very clean and the little dinning area was nice and quiet.

We were on holiday in the area and called in for a pint one afternoon and asked to look at the evening menu for future reference. It looked really good so as my parents were also staying in the area we decided to visit the following evening. I phoned to book at table which went fine until I mentioned our dog, when I was abruptly told that dogs weren’t allowed in the restaurant we’d have to eat in the bar, fine, can I book a table? No and put the phone down. Undeterred we collected my parents the following evening and headed to the pub and we were really pleased to get a table in the bar with our dogs and duly got a round of drinks and a menu, only to find the menu was a very limited bar menu not the menu we had seen. My husband asked if it was possible to order from what we assumed was the restaurant menu we had previously been given but was just told no you can’t by the lady behind the bar which I’m assuming is the same lady I spoke to the previous evening as I can’t imagine a pub would employ 2 rude members of staff? My parents were so appalled they refused to even look at the bar menu and asked to be taken back to their accommodation. Either this is a local pub and they don’t want holiday makers or the lady does not like dogs, either way I would not recommend a visit.

Staying in Pakefield on a short break and canme across this delightful place. Dog friendly too! A nice selection of beers and the food was great. The portion size is big, so very good value for money. Would recommend a visit if you are ever up this way.We were here the week it snowed, but the pub was very cosy and the staff were welcoming and made a fuss of the dog.Very impressed!

We always stopped for a drink whilst walking the dogs and said "we should book to eat here" when we oved closer to the beach we did and wow.... we have eaten here every Sunday when my youngest is at his dads and also taken family and they too have said it is the best roast they have had. We love the place and Little'un is great - you will know who I mean when you go. We walk in and she knows what we drink and this was from the 2nd/3rd visit. Great place, you won't be disappointed. It says I visited in Sept but we have been going every other week since :)

Everytime i return to England to visit my farther in Lowestoft it's so comforting to know that this pub is just 5 mins wak away from his house.We often pop in for a drink with his dog and sit outside or inside (depending on weather!) at this very traditional pub, very cosy, very pleasant, serving great food and beer...Just a little gem by the sea, simple!

I cannot give this pub high enough praise. The landlord and landlady were friendly, smiling and they provided service well beyond any of those boundaries exercised by the rank and file pub proprietors. The food was excellent and plentiful and chosen from a varied menu. We chose this pub from the Good Pub Guide whilst in Lowestoft for a brief visit. Highly recommended.

We ate at the Oddfellows for the first time and what a lovely lunch we had.Right from the friendly hello to the final goodbye this was a perfect lunchtime experience. The beer I chose was ‘off’ and samples of the other ales available were offered. The choice on the menu was very good and complimented by some specials as well.Our meals were freshly prepared, cooked just right and well presented. Thoroughly enjoyed by all of us. The decor is good, including the toilets!This is obviously a very well run pub, with great staff and we shall definitely be returning. We had booked our table in advance.

We visited last Saturday afternoon and sat on the green opposite. Had some nice beer and watched various people walk past on the cliff path. We wanted to eat but we're told the chef had just stopped serving. The staff quickly took our orders and were served some great burgers and fish cakes. Many thanks to you all, well done...

The reason I am giving this pub restaurant an average rating because of a pricing issue: My wife ordered the omelette, which comes with crisps and salad. She told the rather hyperactive, petite waitress that she did not want crisps, so could she substitute it with a jacket potato. Rather than just have a straight swap at the same price, or add a few quid more to the cost, we were charged the whole price for a jacket potato, an extra four pounds, and she did not even get the crisps - which I could have eaten. Added to this, my wife thought that her omelette is overcooked. Perhaps we should have complained more, but you tend not to when on holiday. Saying that, my Hunters Chicken was good and the pub serves excellent real ales. We did find the yapping dogs outside a bit annoying though.

Mi esposa y yo acabamos de disfrutar una semana de estancia en la fabulosa autoservicio en Pakefield, Lowestoft. Llegar tarde el sábado pensamos que debería reservar el almuerzo de domingo en el oddfellows hall, que está a 10 minutos a pie de donde estábamos. Una excelente decisión. Sólo pequeño con media docena de mesas en el restaurante de este 'Gente Pub 'el personal es muy atento y la comida bien merece una visita. Ambos tuvimos la cena asado de ternera, que era excelente - 2 grandes rebanadas de carne distribuido en una amplia porción de puré, acompañado con un plato de verduras mixtas y salsa sabrosa. Muy agradable. Nos aprovechamos de llamar un par de noches para comer, uno de esos para el pescado y patatas fritas tradicionales junto al mar viernes - bien que no - de nuevo excelente. No dudaría en recomendar este Pub para una comida muy agradable en cualquier momento.

Mi padre visitas el muchacho extraño en la semana con su hermano y alabanzas sobre lo bonito que es así que lo llevó para el almuerzo para el Día del padre. 3 y 3 tenían carne asada, no podía servicio culpa o comida. Personal amable y nos lo pasamos de maravilla. Gracias

Fuimos a este pequeño pub de la manera en Lowestoft. Gran ambiente, personal atento y la comida muy buena. Mucha variedad. Tienen sky sports en momentos así cerveza y viendo a su equipo favorito lo que no gusta. Sin duda este lugar de nuevo.

Reservamos este mediodía para el mismo una noche ya que estan muy ocupados en la parte del restaurante. Nunca había estado antes como en vacaciones en Lowestoft por primera vez. Tuve la ensalada de cangrejo en el menú de especialidades y mi marido tenía pollo cantonés y arroz. El personal era amable, pero ocupado. no es una gran elección, pero fue muy recién hecho, así que hay que esperar, pero vale la pena por la comida recién hecha.

Gone to the Oddfellows on several times and sat overlooking the beach with a drink but this time had lunch. Good value for money and catered for the child we had with us. Food well cooked. Good service.

Sólo elegimos el oddfellows hall porque era el único lugar de la zona, que estaba dispuesto a permitir que un perro en el comedor, pero estuvimos más que satisfechos con el servicio y la comida. El personal era muy alegre y servicial y trató muy duro para asegurarse de que todo el mundo nos dieron exactamente lo que querían. La comida era bastante estándar pub grub, con una buena selección de mariscos y opciones de pescado. Todos disfrutamos de sus comidas y las porciones eran más que adecuadas. Todos disfrutamos de la experiencia y nos encantaría volver.

Saw this pub whilst walking from Kessingland to Lowestoft and decided to book a table a few days later. Choice of at least 5 real ales - had 3 - all perfect. Fantastic sea food platter - lots of it and absolutely spot on!

Hace poco nos hemos mudado a la zona y tienen visietd el oddfellows hall en varias ocasiones. Buena comida - el pastel de carne con cerveza es el mejor que hemos tenido. Siempre muy concurrido, tienes que reservar, especialmente los fines de semana. Hemos encontrado el personal y la comida excelente. No puedo esperar para nuestra próxima visita.

Así lo una experiencia horrible, definitivamente no vamos a volver. Al llegar nos sentamos en un hueco que era oscuro, como sólo tenía la mitad de las luces. Mientras estábamos esperando la camarera nos informó que las personas que habíamos reservado una mesa y llegó después de nosotros estaban siendo prioridad. Esperamos pacientemente que casi una hora, hasta que finalmente decidimos levantar y dejar 2. A la salida, hablamos con el encargado que dijo que las personas que reserve una mesa tienen prioridad sobre los clientes a pie en. Le pregunté acerca de tratar bien a los clientes bastante y era sorprendida por su respuesta que siempre priorizar mesas reservadas sobre cualquiera que no habíamos reservado, sin importar si estaban ocupados o no. Desafortunadamente él era extremadamente polémico y muy arrogante. Sólo pagamos por las bebidas que había consumido mientras espera por la comida y la camarera muy groseramente arrebatado el dinero de mi mano. Recomiendo encarecidamente mantener lejos de este horrible lugar. . ! ! También colocó una revisión en su página de Facebook. Asombrado por la manera poco profesional y la grosería del jefe diciéndonos que deberíamos haber ido a MCDONALD'S o KFC y comentarios insulto. . ! En verdad no era una buena forma de responder a un comentario y creo que un delito sackable, demuestra que la actitud del personal.

Had a lovely evening meal, prawn and crayfish balti and mushroom stroganoff. One of best baltis I've had and tastier than many in an Indian restaurant. Great selection of ales too. Recommended.

Eaten on numerous occasions at The Oddfellows & always been very happy. On this occasion took some old school friends who, may I add had never been there. Table pre booked therefore staff were aware of reservation.Two members of the group ordered mushroom stroganoff which can only be described as looking like chicken soup of a very liquid type consistency (but was tasty) After finishing our main meal we sat for a lengthy time, no one approached us to ask if we would like dessert or coffee, therefor requested the dessert menu also ordered coffees only to be told they had no milk! To say I felt so embarrassed is an underestimation, after arranging to meet my friends at The Oddfellows knowing how happy I had always been in the past. Not so much now!

Ate here at lunchtime today as a treat for mother in law. At 92 ( last Saturday) she is a small eater. She felt a bit overwhelmed by the menu..... when we explained this, it was no problem to make her a smaller lunch.

Todo el personal era muy amable. Reserva imprescindible como sólo tienen 20 cubre y muy concurrido. La comida es excelente y las porciones son enormes. Comimos aquí 5 noches de las 7 que estaban en la zona, lo cual es inusual para nosotros.

Este pub muy acogedor está en un callejón sin salida, con aparcamiento en la carretera durante unos 8 coches es mucho más fácil aparcar en las carreteras cercanas. Personal amable, buen restaurante con zonas de bar poco junto a él, también hay mesas afuera y en el lado verde. Sirven cervezas locales y en alguna medida de lo bueno que la comida fue de 20 minutos de espera nos dieron el miércoles mediodía para la comida. Nos dijeron de la espera antes de pedir, ya que son muchos los pedidos antes de la nuestra. No hace falta decir que la cerveza, la comida y la ubicación son estupendas.

Apetece una bebida o una comida justo en frente de la playa? Este es tu pub! Lugar excelente y familiar con una excelente vista del mar del Norte. El jardín/terraza es uno de los mejores lugares de la ciudad. Fuera del desfile lleno frente al mar, pero lo suficientemente cerca del centro de la ciudad para ir caminando! Disfrute! Saludos!!

Reservamos una mesa para 10 para celebrar un amigo viene de vacaciones. El servicio era rápido y amable. Las comidas eran variados, caliente y delicioso. El tamaño de las porciones eran grandes, y el personal se tomó el tiempo para preguntar por qué parte de la comida que no habían comido. (parte sólo para grandes), habían pensado que algo estaba mal. Lejos de serlo. Recomendaría oddfellows hall incluso si es sólo por un café.

Lovely meal and friendly staff - the fish platter and the Thai green curry were beautiful freshly cooked. They even did sausage and mash for my little boy even though it was not on the children's menu. Would definitely return

Vine aquí como un grupo grande a la hora del almuerzo, todos pedimos comida del menú limitado, almuerzo (bocadillos básicos baguettes y chaqueta ollas)

Anteriormente me revisó este lugar en 2014, y fue un buen lugar para tomar una bebida y algo de comer. Que ha cambiado un poco. El pub es el mismo, pero la comida ha ido cuesta abajo en calidad desde 2014. Pedimos unas bebidas y llevó a través de la zona de comedor, éramos los únicos allí. Pedimos un pastel de carne y ale con patatas fritas y guisantes con mantequilla y una había chili. 10 minutos después de nosotros pidiendo el servidor informa de que no había chili, todo había desaparecido. Un pollo al curry verde tailandés había pedido en su lugar. La comida llegó después de unos 20 minutos. Mi comida era grande, un plato lleno de patatas fritas, un plato para el y otra para los guisantes. Todo demasiado para mí, me gusta la comida en un plato, y luego no dedicado. Era insípida, y quiero decir que sabía a nada remotamente de ternera o ale. La carne era un poco duro, pero la comida era decepcionante. Mis amigos curry fue obviamente a pedido, porque el pollo había sido hecho y, a continuación, se agrega a la salsa de curry, así que de nuevo, no mucho sabor. En total fueron alrededor de 30 libras por dos, la relación calidad-precio, no, en lo que a mí respecta. No volvería, no me puedo.
