Oceanside Cafe in Rother

Sat at my table went up to order to be asked that the till is on the outside window and to go outside. I went outside and was presented with a portable card machine. The young girl was explaining the reasoning behind it and the owner or person in charge said “ you don’t have to explain yourself “ I felt this was quite rude and won’t be returning due to this and also find it very over priced for the service and quality of product you get

Great beach side cafe, right on the beach. Friendly staff, decent cafe menu, inside and outside seating, free parking nearby - what is there not to like?

Very nice service, nice spot on the South England Costal Path.

A lovely place to sit down and have a hot drink and toasted tea cakes are great. Can be at times hard to get a seat.

What a relaxing place just to sit, eat and take in the sea view. Lovely staff and excellent food, plenty of gluten free choice too.

Very glad to have found this little gem of a cafe. It makes a very handy half way stop for refreshments on our dog walks along Bulverhythe beach. The lattes are excellent, and the sausage bap is very tasty too. Dog friendly, and seating inside and outside. Not always open during the week but open at weekends 🙂 Update : now owned by 2 of the staff, and open 7 days. Prices are a bit high, but the food and service is excellent. The staff are lovely and friendly, and our dogs are welcome inside. Downside is that dog walking can get expensive lol, we go there regularly 😀🐕

Lovely cup of coffee and snacks, right where it's needed, on the beach. Also try the Strawberry Cooler if it's available, perfect on a Summer's day.

Brilliant little place. Great choice of foods, Friendly happy atmosphere with great views of the beach and sea. Just visited recently, it's had a make over, new tables chairs, fresh lick of paint and new artists pictures but still the same friendly helpful staff and great choice of food and beverages. Very dog friendly too.

Crispy fries are amazing. Sitting down at the café or taking a walk with them in the summer is a blessing. There might be a bit of a wait on weekends during warmer days.

Full English was brilliant, sausage sandwich was good as well. Nice and clean inside cafe.

Brother-in-Law and I visited the Oceanside Café on our motorbikes. It's a nice ride out and there is a free car park on the roadside of the railway line, that you walk under to get to the cafe. Needless to say that we had the 'full English'! Really nice. The weather was great, so we sat outside, looking over the beach and watched the world go by. The food was great, as was the service. Friendly staff - proper 'old school'! The cafe is very popular. Can't wait to go again.

Took 45 minutes for 2 portions of chips that tasted mediocre at most.

What a lovely place and lovely staff. We come here regularly and always a warm and cheery welcome and great quality food. I lost my phone on the beach, some kind person handed it in and Oceanside tracked down my partner to let me know to pick it up. Oh yes, and my bag was left there and kept for me to pick up. The story goes on... Anyway, go and support a great local business. 5 Stars

Beautiful location right on the sea-front, a little hidden. Nice atmosphere and colourful. Friendly staff and clean loos. Good menu too.

Friendly staff, this time we just had hot drinks that were excellent. Recommended for a refreshment break when walking along the seafront or up and down Galley Hill

Great grilled halumi burger even had gluten free bread instead of a bun. Update: new furniture inside more spacious.

Use it regularly, nice people, good food.

We got a very warm welcome, made our choices from the menu and sat outside to savour the view across the beach to the sea. The food was quick to arrive, piping hot and delicious. Great value, too. Thank you Bronia - we'll be back before midday for one of your full English breakfasts. Becky and Matt.

Great place bang on the beach, lovely welcome. Had delicious avocado on toast which was washed down with white wine followed by scrumptious coffee cake.

Not had there food so can’t comment on that. Service depends on who’s there. Some are better than others.

Just a quick stop for a cappuccino and a tea. Staff very polite and friendly. Food looked good but we didn't try any on this occasion.

I could find faults with this place if I was being picky but the service was excellent, lovely hot cuppa tea and our Halumui burger and chips was brilliant. Several other people were there at the same time and they were clearly enjoying it. Several dog walkers were in there with I have to say very well behaved dogs. Would definitely recommend

Beachside cafe right behind m&s. Lovely setting. Good food, drinks, desserts, ice cream....

I went there very close to winter so, it's either the cafe is closed for business or they have stopped operating altogether. Be that as it may, I really had a very nice time. The atmosphere is cool and calm save for the slight noise from the ocean.

Walked past this cafe today, not from around here and just wanted to get a drink and snack with my family. Got the homemade brownie and OMG best brownie I've ever tasted! So amazing we went back for another brownie, lemon drizzle and carrot cake! Really friendly staff.

Staff are always friendly here, great menu, something for everyone. Coffees are fab, ans the location is just perfect!does het popular here, so can't always get a seat outside...but then you have a massive beach in front!

Fab little cafe. Great location overlooking the beach. Nice cosy atmosphere littered with cool artwork. The food was amazing. I felt like I was visiting home.

I went for having lunch, but nothing was available apart for "piadina", at 12 pm. Lovely staff indeed, but I will not give a second chance.

Get there by midday and have the full English. 1st class food and location

Lovely people. Service with a smile. Couldn't find it at first. Had to park and walk through a tunnel with lovely paintings to get to the stoney beach. But worth it. Lovely to did eating or drinking and looking at the beach. Quite small inside but lots of nice touches. A cheerful place and music was great too. A good sound.

Foods a bit on the expensive side, but with over heads and price of things it's not surprising. Did have a nice ploughman's, hubby burger and chips were a little over done. But it's a nice cafe

Very enjoyable catch up with family and had a lovely coffee and some food. Sat inside as it was a windy day but the view from inside of the beach and the sea was stunning. Lovely staff, amazing food and a place we'll gladly revisit whenever we are down this way. A coastal gem for everyone to enjoy.

Walked past on our way to Patty Guy, never been here before and will definitely come back, had a local beer and a glass of Prosecco. Very nice and chic.

Great place, there were 6 of us, and we all had drinks. The gentleman serving was polite, cheery, and helpful. Even sold dog ice cream.

Lovely Cafe on the beach. Good friendly service. Great prices and tasty food and coffee. You can eat inside or sit outside and enjoy the sea view. Dogs are welcome and there is a water bowl for them. Toilet inside the cafe. Lovely atmosphere, good for dog walkers.

What a lovely little Caffe.Its position practically on the beach,with lovely views of the sea is fabulous,and the service was great and friendly.. Doe's traditional breakfasts and much much more.I really must recommend this Caffe.

Top marks. Completely satisfied. Sausage Bap - two good quality sausages in a fresh moist bap. Black Coffee full flavoured and aromatic; not too weak not to strong. Pleasant beach side location clean and tidy. Good service.

Great service with smiles from the ladies. Had a Bagette and 2 mugs of tea, the price was very reasonable I will be returning soon to try the lunches. Thank you ladies.

A great little cafe by the beach, good food and lovely staff, had an egg, bacon and sausage baguette which was top notch 😋 worth a visit if you are in the area.

Not impressed with this place, I'm afraid! A tiny seating area that isn't big enough for the demand... at numerous times throughout our short visit we had people wondering around, assessing how much we'd drunk and how long we'd be - not what you want when you're trying to relax! We had two iced coffees which tasted like a cold nescafe with a dash of cold milk on top and paid nearly a fiver each for them! We were considering getting some nachos and glad we didn't - when we were leaving we saw a portion and they were tiny! I think they know they've got a captive market here and take advantage of it. The staff are nice and friendly though, so it wasn't all bad!
