Visited this cafe whilst on a short trip to the area. Would say it's a bit of a hidden gem near the boatyard. Our breakfast order was served quickly, and our hearty meal proved to be very tasty. Staff were polite and friendly. Good experience and happy to recommend.

Straight forward breakfast place who do a tasty fry up. Quick service and friendly staff. Recommended round the marina.

Microwave omelette , Not good . If i would of known , I wouldn't of bothered . Lack of effort . Won't be going in there again . Waste of £9

Fresh, tasty, perfectly cooked mushrooms was a highlight of this truly excellent breakfast! Good coffee too. The photo never does it justice. Highly recommended

Does what it says on the tin, a nice local cafe. Large breakfast, plus a side of black pudding, once we’d got it and eggs, toast with a side of black pudding. The only comments I’d say would be the level of toasting on the toast, one plate was like bread the other properly toasted. Swift service.

Lovely food, best breakfast before fishing or fun with the grandchildren, staff are so nice and always make you feel welcome. Try this one Sunday morning instead of the more ‘trendy places. You will be wonderfully surprised and so will your wallet. Thank you ladies

Good value, freshly cooked breakfast from this ‘off the beaten track’ cafe, next to a fishing tackle shop. Traditional cooked breakfasts are served in 3 sizes, all being sensibly priced.

Frequent this cafe often either for breakfast or Sunday lunches. The cafe is hidden within a boatyard just off the main marina in Portishead next to a fishing tackle shop. It’s a local cafe the family are really lovely. It’s a no frills kind of cafe great for big breakfasts when you want a full English or lovely breakfast sandwich. They do a fab omelette too at lunch time and the kids meals are great value, in school holidays they sometimes have offers on. Their Sunday lunches are my favourite though, it reminds me of a proper home lunch. So much veg, I am in heaven the only thing that could be better is homemade crispy spuds and yorkies as I think they are currently frozen but this might affect the price. Great hidden gem though and lovely they still offer takeaways of everything

Recommended. Good food, nice little cafe, friendly staff. Good value too. I visited for breakfast on a Wednesday morning, had nicely cooked mushrooms on scrambled eggs and toast. Pot of tea. £5.60. Free WiFi. Good selection on the menu. I used google maps to find it without any problems, although its signage is rather small! A few tables outside and plenty of room inside, well decorated and clean.

This cafe is tucked away by the boat yard and well worth a visit. If you like a clean and friendly cafe with excellant food then this is the place for you. The breakfasts are delicious and very reasonably priced. Give it a try

I visit oceans cafe regularly and I travel 35mins to do so. Staff always friendly. The cafe is a proper cafe and great value for money. I think I’ve probably tried everything on the menu over the past few years and I’m always happy with what is served. The roast is amazing, it’s restaurant quality, meats cooked perfectly, all fresh veg, spuds are proper mum spuds, the cauliflower cheese you can tell is home made and it’s to die for, I normally go for a big roast with some extras and the wife has a small one. The breakfast is quality! I’m a trades mans and I’ve been to a lot of cafes and I mean a lot but nothing compares to here. We often have a nice walk around the marina and pop back for coffee. I really cannot recommend oceans more.

We’ve tried breakfast practically everywhere that does it in Portishead and Oceans is consistently the best. There are other places with more fancy decor but they charge up to twice as much for breakfasts that aren’t so good. Large portions, we can only ever manage a “small” breakfast, Oceans also do all manner of other items for breakfast and lunch, but it is their English breakfast that we keep going back for.

Took the family based on the reviews. A little surprised of the location and the fact that it is a portakabin. Food was ok but not exactly exceptional. It was also expensive considering the environment/overheads. Our food was lukewarm and nothing special. Tea was not good at all. Certainly there are better cafe's out there and definitely cheaper!

the breakfast was fine,all freshly cooked and the meat was of good quality. my concern was covid health,tables close together,and worse still the condiments were being passed from table to table as there were not enough for all tables.also alot of moving about,as you go to counter to order/pay and the food is brought to you.

Option to add extras, hot and fresh all served with a friendly smile. Nice change from McDonalds and probably healthier

My sixteen year old daughter, 71 year old mother , my husband and myself enjoyed every mouth of of our quality breakfast on the way to Cornwall and will go again on our way home.

Been here a couple of times for brekkie. Decent selection of food at standard prices. Good friendly service, with a nicely set out and clean dining area. Parking isn't a problem and the grub is pretty decent too. Worth a visit for a decent breakfast.

I only have few words about this hidden cafe. They have one of the best breakfast menu in Portishaed compare to few of them I have been to.The breakfast if just a like posh home cooked breakfast. They could serve some bubbles (Prossecco) just to make it complete .Is my go place when I want to cheat DIET. I've lived in Portishead for over 10 years now and today was my first visit to the cafe. Why did it take me so long?Tucked away in the corner of the boat yard in a little piece of Portishead saved from all the new developments is this little no frills but spot on cafe. The mega breakfast is just the ticket and won't leave anyone hungry with three sausages, two eggs, toast, beans, mushrooms, black pudding, three slices of bacon, grilled tomato and two hash browns! Add a mug of tea and what more can you ask!

Wonderful breakfast as usual. Well cooked and delicious. Good choice of items available and very reasonably priced.

Love this little independent Cafe, they do one mean bacon roll to take away. Great service and all cooked to order. Keep up the good work guys.

Tasteless sausages with skins like hides. Margarine like a yellow glow! Fries too thin - no potato, just crisp. All cold !! Bring back butter!!

I have had breakfast here just with my husband and also as a party of 9. The food is a ways excellent, cooked to order so fresh and hot. Service always good staff are nice and friendly. Really good blue for money.

Don’t be put off by the exterior of this venue. It is tucked away in a boatyard. The staff are friendly and efficient, the food is delicious. We had large cooked breakfasts.

Portion sizes good, food tastes good, staff are very friendly. However, it was obvious that the poor staff were struggling. They did look like deer in headlights a bit. Both of us had something missing off our plates and we still can't find out why and we never did get the mustard we kept asking for. This is a good little cafe though but if a properly organised plan of operation was formed and put in place for the staff then this would be a great little cafe.

After experiencing a breakfast with some of the operatives from the nearby construction site. I decided to take my Wife for breakfast there yesterday. She loved it!! We will come before we go on holiday later on in the year. The atmosphere was very family friendly. It was a shame that ‘Pinky” was not there (she did something with here hair). I would recommend this cafe to everyone for value and lovely food

A very good cafe if you would like a simple snack or meal. On the very busy Marina but with lots of parking and quiet. Friendly staff plain but good fare.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon for some lunch after a stroll around the Marina. Small but very friendly cafe with a great selection of food on the menu. You can choose from all day breakfasts to jackets, sandwiches, pies, burgers, salads. Very reasonable prices. Really enjoyed it and great service. Will visit again.

Last reviewed this Cafe more than 2 years ago and since then it has come under new management. Pleased to say the standard has not dropped in any way. Still cheerful, eager to please and helpful staff keen to give real value for money. I am not a rabbit and therefore reject having to eat "leaves" as at some eateries but not here. I ask if they can do iceberg type lettuce and sure enough they do......their lunchtime salads ate first class and I have paid double the price for half the amount and lesser quality in other places.

Esperar para mí una variedad de gente aquí, ya que es muy popular, y bastante agradable, una de las mejores tiendas de pescar con caña en la puerta el país justo al lado. . .

Ayer fui a los océanos como parte de un grupo de 6 ciclistas y tenía una gran taza, y mis amigos habían hecho recién aperitivos. El personal era muy agradable y gusta reír. Las mesas tienen sombrillas si quieres uno y la zona de estar es agradable y junto a la cerradura en Portishead.

Fast, good quality, very cheap, nice atmosphere, food can be for breakfasts or lunch, been there a few times and had a great experience every time.

Food took a long time to arrive and it took a long time to be served! Lots of chit chat by the staff and no action! More effort needed with customer service. Not a good visit if your in a rush.

Oceans Café me lo recomendaron unos amigos y yo desayunamos allí el otro día. Realmente no sé por qué se me ha llevado mucho tiempo para encontrar esta pequeña cafetería encantadora que está escondido en el Boatyard frente Portishead Marina. Luminoso y ventilado y el personal era cálido y acogedor. El desayuno era magnífico, recién cocinado y caliente, gran café. que recomiendo encarecidamente este pequeño café, que será aparece en allí para el almuerzo bastante pronto así que busque otro examen de la otra comida que ofrecen.

Es un poco lento en recibir comida pero amable personal ... cambiará artículos si su exigente aunque la calidad de los artículos para el desayuno falta ... salchichas son un poco ordinario

Always pop in now and again , and have done for the past 10 years, always good fresh and on the ball, always well patronised, if your into your full and traditional café fayre, this is the place for you, it's a thumbs up from me.

enjoy a Sunday breakfast here and it is always busy so that says it must be good! Good choice of different breakfasts and if it isn't on the menu they do try to accommodate your choice of breakfast.

Situated within Portishead boatyard lies a cafe in a portacabin. It was busy on our visit but we found a seat quickly and our breakfast came soon after ordering. Great value for money. Staff lovely anf friendly.

Have been using this hidden little café for several years now and have not had a bad experience once in all that time. Quite unpretentious but nonetheless excellent food served by friendly and welcoming staff and at an economic price. The mugs of tea are piping hot and as someone who loves their tea, only equalled by my home made brew.

Friends had been telling me about Oceans for months so finally went there for breakfast this morning.Hidden behind the Hall and Woodhouse in the Marina this small but we'll run Cafe didn't disappoint! A great selection of breakfasts were available and since it was Sunday I went for the large cooked costing about £5. It was more than enough and cooked beautifully. No greasy food to be seen here just good hearty nosh!Staff were delightful and friendly and then food was served very promptly! What more could you ask for?

This was a pleasant experience as cafe's go, clean and very tidy with a warm welcome. We ordered our 3 cooked breakfasts just in time (10am). As we sat down, it seemed the rest of Portishead was having a family breakfast club. I had a couple extras, just cannot resist black pudding, when it arrived it was huge, the std breakfast would have been plenty. Coffee was good and we were all set for the day, thanks for great service and food.

We popped in for their full breakfast yesterday, Monday 3rd August 2015, and we wished we had visited the day before. Lovely staff and freshly cooked food bursting with flavour, we even asked for an extra shot in the coffee as my Wife prefers her coffee extremely strong. Do not be put off by the location of this hidden gem, and do not do what we did the day before and go to a nearby restaurant for your breakfast, Ocean's Cafe is well worth the visit.

just what we need after a shopping trip, two small breakfasts which was as much as I could eat, mugs of tea and coffee, change from a £10. given a second fried egg as the first one broke, really friendly spot. fairly full at lunch time with office workers

In the newer part of Portishead this café offers breakfasts,snacks and lunches.The price is what you would expect and the portions decent and tasty. At the moment the café only takes cash payments and opens at 9:00 a.m.Will be back.

We have visited this cafe several times over the past year for breakfast and it never fails to deliver.There are various sizes of cooked breakfasts to order, however the small breakfast, priced at £3.50, is more than ample. The plate full of goodies is well cooked and not greasy in the slightest. Drinks are extra, but not expensive, with a range of coffees to choose from.Shall be back whenever in the area.

After many many people recommending we visit Oceans since we moved here 5 years ago, we eventually got round to trying it out. In fact, 10 of us (inc 3 children) rocked up on a Sunday morning, expecting a nice greasy spoon. What we received was in fact a very nice breakfast, which could just as easily been cooked in my kitchen at home. It was a lovely change to have a cooked breakfast which didn't feel like the whole plate had been deep fried! I can't recommend this place enough, and it probably wouldn't be stretching the truth to say Ocean's is the best value cafe/restaurant in Portishead.

We as a family eat here at least twice a month, mainly for breakfast and/or lunch. My husband always has the omelette and my son always has the bot chicken and bacon baguette. I vary my choices as there are so many and all great value for money.The food and service here is absolutely excellent. It is always busy and that speaks volumes!

What can I say. Cooked black pudding- h&w take note- its not supposed to be greasy slime. I have ate every breakfast in portishead and its the best value and most consistent. Aqua struggled by not having an interpreter for 'round/slice of bread and butter'(toast came, thats 2 slices then) but was otherwise excellent. This is a non greasy 'greasy spoon' I am told the ham and eggs are brill too.

If you want a good fry up this is the place to go in portishead. Great price friendly service an all round winner!

This is a cute little cafe in a portacabin tucked away in the boatyard. We paid our second visit to have breakfast and were impressed with the simple and tasty cooking and the relatively low prices. Judging from the customers there, this place is frequented by locals 'in the know', including a lot of blokes. Sophisticated it is not, but for simple inexpensive breakfasts delivered by friendly staff it would be difficult to do better in Portishead.
