Ocean Fresh Fried Chicken & Ribs in Bexley

We ordered in store and unfortunately on arrival home we found that many items from our food order were missing but paid for. We rang the store to be told we had not been charged for the missing items. This was not the case. We had obviously paid for the items we ordered. We were told to go back to collect the missing items. We could not do this as we had walked back after a drink in the silver fox. So, not enough for a dinner between us. Disappointing...will not return! Update: In response to your reply. It was missing a jumbo sausage (paid for) we got 4 wings (paid for 10) and no drink with the meal deal. So, unfortunately for us was not a full dinner. We did not want more food that would end up in the bin. We ordered what we wanted to eat.

In notes I asked for scampi to be extra crispy. Scampi were not even golden, not crispy at all. Chips and sausage in batter were very pale also. Disappointing.

Was excited to visit this store, as it had very good ratings on Too Good To Go (TGTG). Unfortunately, the experience was bad. After coming inside, I saw some chicken pieces and saveloy sausages behind the counter. Staff member was making someone else’s TGTG bag (saw them swipe and collect it few minutes later, it was 1 bag, like me). All the chicken pieces went to them, plus some saveloys. They also received a bag with handles to carry it. And overall a way bigger package than mine. Well, for me it was weirdly different… I don’t know why. When I came up, member of the staff was polite, but spoke so quickly, that I had to ask him to repeat what he said 3 times. And even then it was hard to understand… I lived in UK for 10 years now and have a good grasp of English and yet it was so hard to communicate, not clear at all on what’s being said. He then rushed to make my bag (wrapped it well though), but I did not get a bag with handles to carry it, so had to take one of my own from my backpack. Later, I found no chicken in my TGTG bag (as it went to the couple before me), a few saveloys (tasted okay, but no variety), chips and one bread roll. Also, before I even left the place, the lights were already dimmed… I felt rushed out of the store. Although I came in precisely when the 15 minute collection window opened, at 21:45. So I wasn’t late or anything. I don’t know if this was because staff member was tired or wanted to go home or something else. I was kind and polite, yet the experience wasn’t good. I felt sighted and an afterthought. Was frustrating watching that couple being serviced in a nice and slow manner, getting more goods “for the buck” (carry bag with handles included lol) and yet I somehow got the leftovers of their leftovers, it seems. While we paid for the exact same experience and product. Sad.

Food arrived late as delivery driver got lost and had to call for directions. Unfortunately, this meant that my food was only lukewarm on arrival.

We've been using this chip shop for a while now and it's great. Great food, always so accommodating and the staff are so friendly. Would highly recommend.

Under new owners for the last 11 months. Thankfully they are bringing the standard back to what it was previously before the last owner. Maha is extremely friendly and always has a smile on his face. Clean and hygienic store with great food. Chicken wings and burger extremely tasty at a great price. Highly recommend.

Really lovely service, fresh chicken and good value for money, so accomodating and friendly, was only in the area for dog sitting so will miss this around the corner

Owner was rude and didn’t care when food was taken back due to dietary issues, left with no food and no refund. Will never use this place again.

Best fish and chips in the area. Great value for money as their small cod is the same size as large cod elsewhere. Batter and chips perfect. Very helpful and happy. Great variety menu better than anywhere else in the Albany Park area.

The chicken fillet tower burger is perfect! It’s a firm favourite with my kids and a fraction of the price of well known chicken shops.

Fish and chips with No chips. Certainly chips not mentioned, but ordering at f&c one wouldn’t expect getting solo fish. Fish itself average, lack of chips - disappointing. One can make mistake once.

Was able to eat dairy free. They double checked the ingredients in their batter and were very allergy friendly. I very much recommend this place for the friendly and helpful people, yummy food and huge portions

Under new ownership, advertising a 50% discount on 15th & 16th November, didn't want to honour the discount on the 16th November but did back down, the food was cold & the size of the cod was very small, I won't be going back, you can't advertise an offer than back track

Dry fish. Cold saveloy. Luke warm pie. Rubbish. Not worth wasting your money especially with prices now. And to top it all off they never honored an offer. AVOID

This is an update review due to change of ownership. Firstly, they were offering 50% off for 15 & 16 November, but only honoured on 15th and argued with another customer while I was there because she queried the discount. Secondly, I had ordered and stepped outside as there were quite a few people in there. I waited outside and kept looking in to see if my order was ready. After 10 minutes I went back in again to ask where my food was, only to be challenged on whether I had actually ordered it! They had it written down behind the counter and I paid using Google pay, so I had proof of ordering. To try and placate me one of the men told me he would give me a large cod. Nice try, they only sell one size for one price and the fish was dry and stringy. The pie was cold and my daughter had a saveloy that we're still trying to work out whether was undercooked or overcooked. Either way, the food was absolutely disgusting, along with the female server's attitude, and we certainly won't be returning; nor recommending this place at all. Don't waste your time, there are far superior shops in the area

The cod was under cooked, in fact it was raw. Never ever going to order from here ever again. There is a new nicer tastier chip shop beside Albany Park called The Fish House. Go there instead. The food is tastier and the staff are friendly and best of all, their cod is cooked properly! You won’t be disappointed but will be highly disappointed if you order from this shabby fish and chips shop called Ocean Fresh…. Are you kidding me nothing about your food and cod is fresh! Avoid

I lived at crofton most my life when the original shop opened but they have now changed owners so my ratings going from a 5 to a 2. The portion size of the chips is the smallest I have ever had from anywhere + they wernt all that and the fish literally had no taste to it whatsoever, wouldn't rush back here at all! It use to be a more family friendly locals kind of place but not no more

Went to the shop tonight, the pie was like warm, savoly’s were also half cold and worst of all the portion size for chips was an absolute joke I have never seen a portion so small and they were not very tasty either I will not be going back here although this is my local chip shop.

I recently organised a 30th birthday party for my son and ocean fresh catered for me delivering 60 boxes of delicious fish and chips that all my guests enjoyed thoroughly. Ram the owner was incredibly helpful from start to finish and was so easy to deal with and very accommodating. I highly recommend this chip shop it’s one of the best around and such a great idea for parties.

Awful. Took an hour and a half to be delivered and order was wrong. Tried to call over and over but no answer. Food was cold and looked like it had been sitting around for the hour and a half

Came across this place after finding our regular chippie was closed. The Cod & chips was super fresh, perfectly cooked and with generous portion sizes. We'll be back soon!

It is very rare I give reviews, but I must say this is one of the best fish and chips shop I have visited! The new management has been a breath of fresh air in the area with the renovation! The owners are incredibly friendly with the food being delicious - especially with the updated menu! 100% recommend the place! Very reasonable prices and quality customer service that I was happy with!

We’ve used this chippy for years and it was always great until it changed hands earlier this year (2021). Last time we had fish and chips the fish wasn’t cooked well and the batter was uncooked and stodgy. Tonight my son had fish which was ok but didn’t feel fresh. My wife, daughter and I had kebabs (2 donars and 1 chicken) all 3 wrapped with no salad and with hard, dry pitta. Lamb was dry and basically not nice. I rarely leave bad reviews and as we visited this place the week the new owner took over we’ve given them a chance but they need to have a fundamental change as they’re trading on the old owners good name.

Just ordered savaloy and chips as they had run out of mince beef pie at 6.30pm on a Saturday, got home and found 2 hairs in my dinner.... will not be going back!

Under new management… The doner meat and scampi were burnt. The pie and mash was awful, a tiny blob of mash and I don’t know what the liquor was!! It was all lumpy and a horrible texture. The only thing that was nice was the chicken kebab. Very unimpressed considering they have done the place up with out door seating. I think the staff need training on how to cook better.

New Management have spent loads on opening the whole front of the shop and putting seats/tables out the front, which makes it very awkward for the 7 members of staff to work out who's next, as there is no queue system. I ordered a large Cod, small Rock and large chips. After waiting for 25 minutes, listening to all the other customers moaning about the service, I finally got my food. When I got it home and opened it, I was VERY disappointed. The Rock was 4" long, at the most and burnt. The 'large' Cod was smaller than the small Cod that they used to sell here! I returned the meal for a refund. Never again. I think they have lost quite a few customers tonight.

Sadly a fish and chip let down... Cod was long and flat with no meaty flakes, chips were sweaty and stuck together. All together a real poor meal, won't be back
