Ocean Chop Suey House in North Tyneside

First time in a long time using this takeaway. Won't be back . Chicken chow main with only two small pieces of chicken. And I mean small . Absolute rip-off.

I don't live in the area anymore but over the past 10 or so years I've made it a habit of popping in when I'm visiting home, the food is that nice. As mentioned the food is amazing, really good portion sizes, beats all others in Whitley bay. The staff are always lovely and the lady who works the counter is great to chat with whilst you wait for your order.

Just discovered this gem. Highly rate this place for great food. Love their Singapore vermicelli, on a par with some brilliant restaurants. Everything is reasonably priced. Their portions are generous. Thanks so much

If I could give zero stars or even negative stars I would! The woman behind the counter is downright ignorant and the food is shocking! The duck was just fat in sauce and who puts tomatoes and strawberry in plum sauce?? Never again!!

Love the salt & chilli chips from here! They're the best ones I've had from a Chinese takeaway and I'm very partial to Chinese! Staff are always lovely and the curry sauce is really nice too.

Placed order to collect order the two meat chow mein with chicken and beef got home it was chicken n prawns me and my wife can’t stand prawns was very disappointed was still charged the price for the beef to the shredded duck was nice though, will be finding another for next time thou

Foods ok ish. Did not get what I ordered and no free mini spring rolls even tho spent over £20 like menu claims. Disappointed will look else where.

We were passing here around 22:00 on the 02/06/18. We are local to Whitley Bay but have never ordered from here so thought we’d give it a try. My Girlfriend and I entered the shop and approached the counter. As we entered there was a loud buzzing sound and the woman behind the counter ordered us, in an terrible tone, ‘to close the door properly to stop that awful sound.’ The way she said this to my Girlfriend and rolled her eyes at her was completely out of order, as if my Girlfriend was an idiot and she should have known the door left ajar would cause this sound. To be honest her attitude was so bad I nearly walked out of the place there and then. But I thought I’d give her a second chance, so we chose our items from the menu. One of which was udon noodles, but we wanted them with no meat and just sauce. When we asked for this, again, her attitude was terrible and she looked as if we were fools for asking for them without meat. My Girlfriend looked at me to give a look that she couldn’t believe the way this woman was acting, and again we nearly left the place. But we were hungry, so we persevered. We finished our order and we asked to pay on card she just exclaimed, incredulously ‘no cards!’ and for me, that was it. I’d had enough. I actually had some cash on me, and could’ve paid cash. But this woman’s attitude was so horrendous from the outset I really did not want to give this place my custom. I worked in customer services, and customer services training for several years. And I can safely say that this woman’s attitude is one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. I highly advise the management here to give this woman some customer services training, as she is letting this business down tremendously. In fact, she is a disgrace to the business. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. What an awful experience.

Horrible! If your looking for a decent Chinese do not use this one!! Food was tasteless and plain. The salt and chilli chips have no salt or chilli on them and the rice is freezing cold absaloutle waste of money.
