Ocean Basket in Blackpool

En mis 56 años de vida puedo decir de todo corazón que fue el peor pescado con papas fritas que he tenido, no tengo ni idea de qué tipo de pescado era, esperaba bacalao o eglefino, pero Dios sabe lo que fue... asqueroso!

Mientras esperaba mi comida vi una bolsa masiva de papas fritas congeladas esperando ser cocinadas. CHIPS CONGELADOS. Pagué 9 libras por patatas fritas congeladas y scampi. Miserables gilipolleces detrás del mostrador también. En serio, anímate. Sé que trabajas en un incendio asqueroso pero maldito, sonríe. Obviamente no volvería a ir.

Entró a comer tarde. Los dos pedimos Fish & Chips y yo comí guisantes con el mío. Fish & Chips estaban recién hechos y muy calientes, tal como deberían ser. Los guisantes también estaban calientes. Fácilmente el más delicioso fish & chips que he tenido en mucho tiempo. La masa de pescado era ligera y crujiente y no grasosa. Las patatas fritas tienen buen sabor, incluso cuando empezaron a enfriarse. Los guisantes no eran demasiado mushy y bien valen £ 2. El personal era alegre y rápido para aconsejar salsa de carne y salsa de curry también estaban disponibles. Todo el almuerzo incluyendo dos latas de cola llegó a £ 24. Sin duda volveremos la próxima vez que estemos en Blackpool.

Mientras esperaba mi pedido, cortésmente le informé al personal que tenía comida de otro lugar y le pregunté si sería permisible esperar con ella mientras esperaba mi pedido. El personal estuvo de acuerdo sin problemas. Sin embargo, lo que siguió fue increíble. Mientras esperaba pacientemente, la situación se intensificó inesperadamente. Un empleado se acercó a mí en un ataque de rabia, lanzando blasfemias e insultos despectivos, incluso llamándome "c*nt. " Sorprendentemente, este abuso verbal rápidamente se volvió físico cuando el empleado me agredió y me arrastró fuera del restaurante por simplemente defenderme y cuestionar su comportamiento. Toda esta experiencia me dejó no solo disgustado, sino que toda mi familia se sintió profundamente perturbada. La flagrante falta de respeto y agresión mostrada por el personal de Ocean Basket Fish & Chips es absolutamente inexcusable. Nadie debería tener que soportar un trato tan espantoso en ningún establecimiento, y mucho menos uno que atienda a los clientes. Tal conducta poco profesional y el desprecio por la decencia básica del cliente no deben tolerarse ni apoyarse. Busca establecimientos que prioricen el respeto y la seguridad del cliente, como claramente no lo hace Ocean Basket Fish and Chips.

Personal amable pero la comida espantosa. Pescado viscoso muy fino. parecía poco cocido en partes. Chips OK nada especial. No volvería a usar.

Shocking!! Service was terrible, over charged, yes I was refunded for the over charge. Fish was freezing cold even the staff agreed and I wasn’t offered any money back. Don’t bother

The outside and interior is nicely done. The food was disappointing fish flavour was not great and batter so greasy. Scampi stodgy but chips were good. It wasn’t the quickest despite no other customers and didn’t even taste that good when you got it. Disappointing because from the outside looks so promising but If your going to the seaside for fish and chips there will definitely be better elsewhere.

Soggy batter on fish and chips reheated, no care for good food and customer care. Would not recommend

Found this place around 2 years ago with my mum and son. the food is impeccable. Everytime i take my son to blackpool this is the only place he chooses due to the unique cuisine like the fish, the curry and the pickles that are on the counter. would recommend to anyone as this is absolutely amazing.

AVOID at all COSTS! Fish was watery and tasted like a sewer, battered sausage was raw and the batter was squelchy 🤢asked for peas and got given curry sauce, was taken back and just placed under the heater for the next customer, forgot our bread role, took bins out and didn’t wash hands after, tables unclean and messy, rude staff, more interested in their phones. Definitely won’t be returning, highly recommend to AVOID! 😷🤢

Went there today with my husband, the 2 staff behind the counter were not particulary friendly. The man ignored me and carried on talking to his colleague. I got served and was told to sit down and i would be called when our order was ready, why couldnt the man bring the food to us as not doing anything productive behind the counter. He was only friendly with a chap that came in who he knew. Very bad "customet service". Food portions ok, we both enjoyed our meal...some training needed in how to greet and treat customers....after all if it wasnt for us their business wouldnt exist...

Went twice over the weekend and it was some of the best fish and chips I've had. Great potion size for the price, the fish tasted very fresh and it was not overly oily. Out of all the places to get fish and chips from Blackpool I highly recommend coming here!

This little chippy wasnt actually as bad as the reviews make you believe. Yes the portions were smaller then they should have been however what they did serve was hot fresh and tasty, Staff were friendly and the place was clean

Visited while staying in blackpool very disappointed Good points Chips was nice staff was pleasant Bad points £1 for gravy , curry and 1.50 for peas Fish was bland and no taste it was awful it tasted like it has just been defrosted and put in a fryer , very small space very dark - Fish and chips was 6.90 Definitely won’t be going there again

Food was great cooked fresh while w e waited. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Will visit again before the end of our trip.

£6.90 for a piece of haddock children's size when you are a adult every one gets that size terrible horrible fish but only good for chips and curry sauce which is really nice.

Young staff busy doing social media. Younger lad left to his own devices and the cooking. Had to fetch cups of tea from pub, 2 doors down as no water!!. Asked for raw onions on the burger, didn't get any. Chips just dreadful . Staff VERY uninterested

Waited 30 minutes for this freshly cooked food when it was quiet. The battered fish had no taste apart from grease and the batter wss teeth breaking. Would expect table service for that length of wait but erm nope. Chips just about passed the test. Tables could have done with a clean and stabilising

Good bits -The chips are good, nice and crispy. Unfortunately the rest of the points aren’t great. -The fish was over cooked and tough. -The was only 4 customers in and still took 20 minutes to get sorted. -The 2 young lads behind the counter looked like they wanted to hang themselves. Miserable and couldn’t be less interested if they tried. Will stick to the one near coral island next time.

The chips were the the worst chips we've ever had ,the girl behind the counter said they were making them fresh ,probably fresh the day before .

Both staff members looked like they didn’t want to be there, no passion all the tables were left filthy and the food didn’t taste great, you could tell the oil hasn’t been changed for a while

The chips were OK, but there was more batter than there was fish! Service poor - untrained, uncaring - 4 members of staff, only 1 girl actually serving at the till; she was uncommunicative and sullen. No greeting from other members of staff who could...

I got the chips and scampi and they were delicious! But the chips tasted better depending who was cooking them. It was quiet and had a nice atmosphere inside. We enjoyed it very much.

I will never go there again not because of the food but because of my experience with the lady serving me.... I’m a carer so when I get food it has to all be separate and with receipts which I nicely asked her I ordered...

Went today and I mean this when I say these were the best fish and chips I have ever eaten. Ate every last bite and so did the rest of the family. Clean and friendly chatty staff who made us feel really welcome.
