Need to update their online menu. Booked because I saw venison on the menu. Partner wanted to the Monkfish and again not on the menu when you arrive. Ordered the chicken curry which was at best tasteless. Charged £3 more in the bar for the same drinks in the restaurant....

Had a lovely lunch, the food was outstanding, and service by Hazel was second to none. We will be back and become regulars. Thank you

We stayed here on our first night of our Scotland trip. It was a great place to stay. The room was beautiful. The people were very nice. Paula and Margaret were very helpful and inviting.

Brilliant one night stay at this well positioned friendly hotel. Room was excellent, food too, nice bar and bar garden. Only 20 min easy drive to Edinburgh Airport. Very much recommend.

Saw Facebook post about their fish tea, looked good value for money. Went with my husband and a couple of friends. The restaurant was very welcoming as were the staff. We all had the fish and it was a generous portion and delicious. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

The beef short rib was just out of this world and my wife had the slow braised pork belly with the jack Daniels honey glaze and Just wow ,and I had the sticky toffee pudding and never had one so good , oh and my wife had the passion fruit creme brulle with home made short bread ,don't know who the chef here is but definitely knows his stuff and the service was second to none top class well done oatridge you have some magic happening here take a bow x

Restaurant was delicious, we had the special Pork Belly stir fry and wasn't disappointed. Service was fantastic and would recommend the restaurant aswell as the hotel . Very family friendly , the bar has a fantastic buzz and you definitely get value for money . Portions , Service, Food & Wine were brilliant thank you ..

Interesting place, seems to be full of characters. Got a mojito to test the water, and was really tast, bar staff were really nice, wouldn't recommend to the light hearted, certainly tourists might feel threatened.

We had the most delicious meal here. They extended their Valentines menu for a few morel days and it was the best meal out we’ve had in a long time. The service from the staff was also excellent. Would highly recommend their resturant-thank you so much for such a lovely evening.

We tried this restaurant for the first time last night and I wasn't impressed with the food at all. The burgers were poorly seasoned and the buns were absolutely disgusting. Dry and tasteless. No sauce on the burger. Really dissapointed and will not be back. However I must say the staff were very friendly and attentive and a really the only credit to it.

Work xmas lunch. It was a lovely Xmas menu at a reasonable price. The presentation of the food was lovely and the portion size was great. We all enjoyed our food. The seabass was lovely The staff were really nice. The place looked lovely done up for xmas. Couldn't fault it. Looking forward to returning with friends and family. Merry Christmas to the staff

Went for the set dinner today and none of the food tasted fresh except the cheesecake dessert.. definitely the worst Christmas dinner I've had everything was made from frozen. roast potatoes, veg, stuffing. What made it worse was the service, maybe if the waitresses smiled or even had some manners. Had to ask for food to be taken away from table, we were never asked how the food was or if we needed anything. no glasses were taken away either so tables were just a mess. Will not be back.

Just enjoyed another lovely lunch here with my husband, sisters and mum. We had the Christmas menu and all food was very enjoyable although, thought my husbands tomato and cheese tart which he said was very good could maybe have done with some roasties with it. He was glad he’d had soup as a starter. All staff very friendly. Restaurant is looking lovely after its makeover. Very popular for lunch we’ve never been for dinner but I imagine it will be busy.

Fantastic stay, stayed Friday night and the room was decent with good shower, evening meal was very well presented and tasted great, service was undertaken by pleasant ladies and when I came back Sunday gave me an upgraded room. Well pleased and will use again for sure.

We have loved eating here over last 20 years. Following a recent refurb & closure, we returned for the renowned Steak Night meal. Priced at £45 for 2. We were told on arrival their website is not current & to use FB for bookings. Two plates came with a rib eye on each (thin, grizzle, no steak searing), cheap frozen skinny fries, HALf a mushroom (why?) and a small squashed cooked tomato. Partner had veg option with their undercooked steak and was given a small helping of wet, soggy, tasteless (tinned?) tiny cubed 'vegetables'. More water than taste after a small try. Food was left, the lovely waitress politely offered to return the meat for more cooking. But, the whole dish was cheap ingredients and saturated, so we left. The steak meals had no resemblance to anything a qualified chef would serve. The menu options on the website do not exist, be forewarned.

Very friendly and helpful staff. We were upgraded to a bigger room as manager said it was empty so we could have it. Communal areas very tired but room was clean, neat and tidy. Hardish but comfy beds. Could hear footfall noise from upstairs room. No toiletries apart from three mini bars of soap. Towels fluffy but not the biggest. On the main road so easy access but traffic noise from open window as room was so hot. Shower cubicle was decent, no bath. Laminate floor throughout so ideal for the dog. Good for a stop over.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch here for mums birthday. 5 of us, well looked after by friendly staff. I enjoyed the steak pie generous helpings , others had the fish which was also enjoyed mum was able to get a smaller portion but still decent size. Recommend the cheesecake. My husband and I had a drink in the bar before the others arrived very pleasant surroundings seems a local for a few people. Had passed by many times glad we decided this was place for lunch will definitely be back.

We booked this 'hotel' as we had a very early flight from Edinburgh airport. It was a great location and seemed to be good value at the time of booking. We had 3 hour drive up and were looking to arrive around 9pm. We arrived...

We booked two en-suite rooms in December last year but when we arrived we only had one with en-suite. Apparently we should have been told when we booked but we weren't. We pointed out that we were charged the same price for both rooms and were given a five pound refund. "Hotel" might be stretching it. The bed in one of our rooms had a dead wasp in it. Plugging the kettle in wasn't straightforward as the lead didn't easily reach the socket. A light over a mirror didn't work. A budget place to stay it might be, but we won't be returning or recommending it.

Cheap but accommodation was poor. Room stank of cigarette smoke topped off with air freshener. En suite room only had a shower, the toilet was down the hall and used by other guests. Bedding appeared to be clean until I found the dead wasp... food in restaurant was mainly meat, very limited vegetarian options. For prime time Saturday night the restaurant only had 3 tables occupied with most of the tables unbooked, spoke volumes about local custom... Pub noisy, road outside very busy. I DO NOT recommend.

Overall the decor in the restaurant was quite nice. The tables have seen better days and are a bit tacky. The food however was very good and reasonably priced. The public bars were very busy and extremely noisy but the restaurant was sufficiently far away to avoid disruption.

After passing the oatridge for years decided to go for a lunch with my wife. It was the best lunch in a long time . People have told me how good it was, I should have listened earlier. The staff were first class so friendly it really made our dining experience the best ever .

Just returned from a 2 night stay in this gem family run hotel. On arrival we were given our keys by Manager and were pleasantly surprised at the size of the bedrooms which were spotless and up to date in decor. Having a shower installed in every room is a bonus too. Dinner was less than £10 for main course which was delicious. There is a bar which was busy . Beds were comfy and clean. Breakfast included in the price kept us going all day and included orange juice cereal toast tea coffee full cooked breakfast and more toast if needed. The staff were all welcoming and knowledgeable. Great place for a night or 2 away. Thank you !

Went to the restaurant with family after recommendation, was very disappointed, the fillet used for the beef stroganoff was a bit tuff, the pork belly wasn't too bad, however the crackling was more like chewy, and the pork cheek seemed to be deep fried before putting in the plate, so wasn't a very pleasant meal, and for the service, hope you have plenty time as it may take 30 minutes between courses, very slow, and not assertive at all.

Visited with family to celebrate Mums birthday before a show. Table booked for 5.15. Places order to be told two of our choices where off the menu, at the start of service??? Really. Ok just order something else. The meat used in the stroganoff was tuff and onions hard. The pork belly was dry and crackling soggy which I suspect must have been cooked and covered to keep warm. The pig cheeks were dry and the dophinois potatoes were a horrible colour. Service was slow, really slow. Asked for the bill and waited ages. We will never return!! Used to be good but really not so now. Shame

warm cosy restaurant,staff lovely.Good choice of wines.Nice to get warm bread and butter in a basket before your meal.They do a good two coarse menu.I would recommend the steak pie.

This was my first visit to this restaurant with friends from work who have been before. Had the Christmas menu. The food was excellent but it took 40 minutes to arrive even though we had pre ordered it. Staff were very good but not enough off them. We had side plates but no bread rolls which would have been welcomed as we waited so long for our food. The restaurant was busy and has a good atmosphere but the lighting was awful. Two large chandeliers on full. Little candles on the table were pointless due to the stark overhead lighting which definitely spoiled the experience. Would put me off going there for a cosy romantic meal with my husband. Cocktails are reasonably price and gorgeous.

I was away with work and a colleague took me to the Oatridge Hotel for my evening meal. I have to say the food, service, locals were all lovely. I had the pork belly for starter, it was a little dry but very tasty and the crackling was stop on. For main I had the Rib-eye, it was a delight. The service was fantastic. Would definitely go again if I was in the area

Not a bad place to stay! Hotel was very close to where I was going. Clean, spacious bedroom with a comfortable bed, however room was not enusuite. It did have a sink and warm shower but toilet was shared with other residents. Food in the restaurant was lovely and Derek who cooked breakfast each morning provided good customer service - friendly and welcoming. Dining room floor could have done with a sweep and a wash but overall, a pleasant and affordable stay and would stay there again if in the area.

The oatridge was my favourite restaurant and I’ve given it great reviews before but after going there tonight it’s just not as good as it was before the food is just not of the same quality. Also the sachets of salad cream were 6 months out of date .

Sbrighiamo le carte e il pagamento e via su verso la stanza 1. Salendo le scale all'hotel non daresti un euro ed invece, entrando nella nostra camera, resti piacevolmente sorpreso. Stanza enorme, come pure il bagno. Bella, col legno per terra e un doppio letto matrimoniale soffice, pulito e profumato. Bollitore e the/caffè vari. TV piatta con canali satellitari. Tutto in ordine.

We stayed here for just one night and it suited the purpose... a bed for the night.

What can I say missing light bulbs from ceiling lights and bathroom ceiling and table lamp. Walls staind with what looks like leaks / trapped moister.mould in the shower and windows. Bathroom door inner handle non existing. Blinds don't offer much resistance to sun light. No curtains either so suns up your up if not from that then the noise. Bangs and creaks and water pipes all night no joke all night. Sound proofing between rooms is non existent. Hall way toilet at the top cistern issue so would not stop the water running could hear it threw the pipe constantly non stop all night. Dust under the radiator broken units sticky hand rails. Hall way carpet leading to rooms was filthy. Mattress needs replacing every turn was like rifleing threw a bag of nuts and bolts. Cracks on the walls and bathroom ceiling. 70 pound a night for the room was way over its value but you pay at check in and now I know why iv honestly stayed in more presentable hostiles. Unfortunately could not upload all the photos never wrote on Trip advisor before but this was horrible.

Worst place ever filthy run down. broken units missing door handle yes door handle mould in the shower room and all round the windows dust balls under the radiator broken cisterns in toilets hallway carpet gross. Mattress was way past its worst to the point the dust ridden carpet was nearly an option. Cracks in walls missing bulbs from lights and lamps their is a reason you pay at check in because trying to get your money back would be a nightmare just like my stay at the oatridge hotel.

We visited the hotel on a return trip from Scotland. The hotel was disgustingly dirty and the rooms leaving a lot to be desired. In the opinion of all those in our party the hotel was not fit for purpose. Suffice it to say that we have reported our findings to the Inspecting Authorities for draconian action from a Health and Safety perspective.

The food is amazing great helpful friendly staff , family friendly and has lots of variety of foods and drinks to choose between. The building or how they present the buildings . The toilets are shappy and the carpet is frail

We turned up unbooked with three adults and a toddler. No Problem! High chair produced and seated with no fuss. Good varied Early Bird menu and fair prices, the place got steadily busier as the evening went on. Staff were busy, friendly and helpful and the food was good too, beware the chilli; it's hot, really hot! Would definitely recommend and have eaten there a few times now and will back again. Very nice to find a local business doing well!

Went with a group of friends for a birthday night & wasn’t disappointed. There were 15 of us & The food was amazing, staff were really efficient & friendly considering it was very busy, nothing was to much to ask. A little hidden gem in my old local village of Uphall.Long ago I went to functions here and even did a sponsored dance off for the Sunshine Club. Looking for a place to eat we just happened on this and we were well impressed . The young lady who served us Vicky was so polite and mannerly and very professional . She didn’t rush us and overall the star .

As a local restaurant we are lucky to have a place that does a good fish and chip night and great steaks for very reasonable cost. They have had a change in chef which has made the review 4 rather than 5 as not quite as good but still good quality food at a good price with friendly local service. Been many times and will return again I’m sure.

We were served by a friendly helpful waitress. The food was excellent. I had steak which had no fat or gristle and the meat well cooked. Good choice on the menu. We will be back when in the area.

Visited this restaurant recently for a 70th birthday celebration meal with the family. The menu is varied with lots of options.I have to say that the food was excellent especially the steaks,everyone in the party had the same opinion.

Four of us booked an evening meal at the Oatridge Hotel to celebrate a birthday. The food was very tasty and service prompt and friendly. My wife was pleased with the vegetarian options and there was a good selection of gluten free food as well. Was especially pleased that Real Ale was available on draft. Will definitely return.

Visited here to enjoy a rare Sunday off work together. We were seated in a cosy candlelit corner... no booking required today but I believe it is normally advised. We checked out the specials board which consisted of Venison and a chicken/mozzarella/pepperoni dish. We both opted for steak today. I went for the fillet whilst my fella had the huuuuggeeeee Tomahawk.... mine was cooked to perfection and deliciously tender. His was meaty, massive and moreish. Far too much with a starter tbh! The baked camembert and red onion jam was to die for - although more like a starter for two! The OH says the mussels were deliciously fresh tasting but raved, mostly about the white wine sauce and spring onions. The service was not too over the top, informative and always with a smile. Highly recommended hidden gem. We will be back to sample more! Kudos to a top team!

Went for a family birthday meal for ten, we all had fish tea which was excellent, really good sized portion, excellent value for money 2 X fish suppers for £12.00. Staff were all very pleasant especially Hannah who mostly dealt with us. After meal brought out lit birthday cake that we had taken in. Nothing any problem to her. Will definitely be back

Possibly the worst hotel stay. Mould on window. Broken chest of drawers. Toilet handle broken so couldn't close door. Bedside table falling apart blind missing slats so couldn't close. Dirty and tired! Disappointed was an understatement. They take your money before you get to see room which is strange normally pay on checkout. Room was freezing cold too. 70 pound for double room Absolutely appalling! Did email but surprise no response yet did put a read receipt on. How this has high marks on trip adviser goodness knows. Bathroom cabinet for towels was covered in rust .... no need to go on all I can say was don't stay there! Went for a night away to celebrate and was an absolute disaster, came home to have a hot bath it was so bad. Unfortunately you can't give less than 1 star !!

For years we've hoped for a decent restaurant with good service and reasonably priced, varied menu within walking distance from our village. I'm glad to say The Oatridge Restaurant Grill met expectations.

My two friends and I have visited this restaurant many times over the years but our last visit was disappointing. I suspect there has been a change of chef. The fried fish was swimming in grease and the Macaroni Cheese was watery and tasteless, as if the cheeses had been greatly reduced. We have been eating elsewhere since!

managed to book and eat on the same day which is unusual - as they are usually booked out. Friendly staff and atmosphere, The only downside is portion control - my wife had the potato skins started, and it was a wee bucket-full - almost a meal in itself. Tomahawk was cooked beautifully, and at 16 oz is not as excessive as others that I have seen.

Popped into the Oatridge Hotel last night.Firstly I would like to say the staff where great. We had not booked but found us a table with no issues.Lovely dinning room area. If you are looking for good steaks at good prices, this is the place to go. Be warnred that if you go for the tomahawk at £25 you will not have room for dessert!

We always have had a great meal and service here. Can't fault the quality of the food and the potion size. Service was friendly and efficient even if they were rushed off their feet. For a local restaurant hard to beat for value for money, we all had a lovely supper/dinner as usual. Options for all the family even picky teenagers.

we often go to this hotel for a great meal, we are very local to this hotel.the staff are very friendly & they attend to your every needs during your meal, I think as a butcher you will not get a better steak than in the oatridge ? the chef seems to understand the proper way to prep & cook the fine cuts of meat from the local butcher. remember everyone has there own opinion, this is mine , going back next week.

We have seen the advertising board when we pass the hotel. Fish, chips and peas for £5. Tonight we tried it.Before I tell you about the food I must mention the service. Excellent, lovely waitress. Although we stay fairly near, this was our first visit to the Oatridge Hotel . The dinner we had were very good, chosen from an extensive menu although we noticed the other diners were mostly having steaks therefore we assume the hotel must have a good reputation for these. Will have to try them when we return. The staff were very pleasant and the food and drink was reasonably priced.

My husband and I recently ate here after reading good reviews about the food and we were not disappointed. We both ordered a 12oz sirloin steak with the hand cut chips. My husband ordered a side of onion rings and the whiskey sauce. I ordered the pepper sauce. The steaks were cooked to our requirements and tasted delicious. The hand cut chips tasted great too. We both ordered a mini bottle of wine which gave us 2 glasses each and at £3.30 per bottle, I was pleasantly surprised. We did not have starters or dessert so can't review these. The restaurant was nice and ambient and you couldn't hear any noise from the public bar. The only criticism I have is that whilst my steak had a small amount of fat, my husband's was very fatty and he lost a considerable amount of his 12oz. Would definitely go back tho and recommend.

Booked this hotel at the last minute a few days before and confirmed breakfast time for 8.15. Checked in at 8pm, saw a panel of glass was missing from the internal door but gave them the benefit of the doubt plus I had no other options. In the hallway dirty tray from the bar was lying whilst the decor could only be described as sad. They had what appeared to be modern wallpaper - silver with a design - but bits were peeling off. Didn't go with the royal blue carpet with a gold design. Confirmed again with staff breakfast for 8.15. Now the room....room 1 appeared clean but cheap and dated. Room was spacious with 2 double beds, small sofa and basic furniture. Small tv away at the offer side of the room which you needed binoculars to see if sitting on the bed. Blinds were a plastic type with no curtains. During the night got woke up a few times with cars driving up the main road. Around 7 got woke up with what I thought was my phone vibrating with the alarm but discovered it was from the next room so safe to say sound proofing was not the best. Anyhow I had breakfast to look forward too until I got downstairs at 8.15 and found the place in darkness. Chapped all doors in the hall but got no reply. Tried again at 8.30 and still the same so decided to leave. Can I just add the smell in the hallway was horrendous coming from the bins which are placed outside when the hotel is open which were stinking of smoke! Sent an email complaining of the lack of staff and breakfast but no-one had the decency to get back to me to explain or apologise. So to sum it up I paid £35 for B and B to stay in a below par establishment that could do with some investment and got no breakfast. Definitely won't be back!

The service is excellent and so is the food. We both had the 8oz Fillet steak with hand cut chips and salad with a side dish of onion rings and a pepper sauce. Everything was cooked just perfectly. Huge compliments to the excellent chef.

I've been to the Oatridge hotel numerous times with family and friends and I cannot praise it enough. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. The service is always great too. Outstanding

We had Sunday dinner,would advised to call to book as gets very busy,As its a small restaurant within the hotel.Great friendly service nice wines,Food cooked fresh and always good portions.Reasonable prices from the menu. steak pie, chicken dishes fish buggers eg. The homemade pate is very tasty.On Wednesday they do a fish tea huge portions.worth a visit.
