My favourite Chinese restaraunt in the world and i have travelled extensively. Great food and very well priced.

Nice food, buffet was very wide, tasty and varied. Some could do with being a bit warmer, but in general ok. Staff were attentive and helpful. Would come again if up this way.

Enjoyed the takeaway. 2 starters, 3 sides and 2 mains. All enjoyable. Salt and chili chips really the standout for me.

Went with my wife and son.. wasn't sure regarding previous reviews I read... Can honestly say it was superb 4 plates just myself will be back again.

Great selection of tasty dishes. Really enjoyed our lunch today. Unfortunately some of the take away meals we've had are very bland. Chow mein doesnt taste of anything.

Nice Lunch and Evening Buffet, good prices

Food is good. Staff are at your table to take away plates, a soon as your fork is down. My husband took an allergic reaction to a dessert, but staff were adamant there where no signs,traces of nuts what so ever. Staff weren't concerned about his health, only about getting their bill

Terrible. Food was cold, not a good selection. Dishes taken away to freshen up back out in minutes reheated probably. Would not go back 16.95 for a plate of powder soup and asalad as notkeento eat hot food after heated. Had a pudding, complained and all igit wS sorry not busy hard to keep food hot. Ah you have hotplates turn them on. Not even worth one star

I wouldn’t recommend this Chinese unless you want cold, speedy food. The prices for children to eat in are far too high (especially toddlers who will maybe have 2 bits) and a takeaway, while quick, is usually mostly taken from the buffet of the dish is already in it. It’s is also very salty and rather limp and sad food. Avoid

Good food. The chilli chips are to die for!! Staff are lovely and good value for money.

The meal was well, just, okay. That's about all I can say really, except the desserts could have been a little more appetizing rather than having custard creams on the table. Have had better, sorry but I won't be going back.

A pleasant evening but nothing to write home about.

Good value lunch, the buffet style operates very well and the food kept at the correct temperature and was continually replenished. Polite and welcoming staff, happy to recommend the overall experience.

Tiny plates, but good choice of buffet, desserts seem to be from a supermarket and it felt a little strange that waiters and waitresses seemed to be watching and following us as we chose our food. It felt very odd. We won't be visiting again.

BUT now it's gone down hill fast! gestapo waiters, Very Dirty, and dangerous trip hazard carpets, + small buffets selection + over priced soft drinks! We Won't be going back! just not worth it!!!!! Great food, freshly made and tasting amazing! The buffet is great value for money, with a wide selection. Amazingly, nothing tastes stodgy or as if it has been lying out for a while. The staff are great too - very attentive and always offer to clear the plates or bring you another drink! Xx

Been here many times over the last year or so with friends and family, everyone has enjoyed it, typical buffet were sometimes timing is key to get everything fresh,but normally is excellent, good friendly service and a huge choice

We've been using this place for years for their buffet, which always provides a great range of options that please the palate. Staff are always attentive, efficient and pleasant.

Outrageous behaviour by a waiter today Sunday 24th March 2019. My 2year old grandson had left 1chicken ball 2chips and a prawn cracker, which were all cut up into small pieces on his plate. He had eaten most of his dinner. Also on the plate was a small muffin my 4year old granddaughter did not want and some food items which we had cleared from the floor.....to leave the place tidy. The aforementioned waiter accused us of wasting food and the amount left on the plate was not good enough. He wouldn't listen to our explanation. My daughter in law complained at the bar about the waiter, however the barman wasn't interested saying that he had seen the amount left on the plate. When my family went to leave the restaurant they were chased by the waiter who was shouting that we haven't paid. My daughter in law told him that I was still in the restaurant and waiting to pay. When I approached the counter to pay, the waiter and barman started to tell me again what the problem was with leaving food.....(a 2year old).......I felt so intimidated by these 2 'men' that I actually forgot my PIN number, luckily I had cash or no doubt they would have had me washing the dishes!!!! As I left, the waiter kicked open the kitchen door in a rage. I visit my family often as I live in Renfrew and we always visit this restaurant. In fact they actually held their wedding reception here. However, after today's experience we will definitely not be returning. Appalling customer service. We pay for the food whether it is eaten or not!!!!!!!

GRATE PLACE AND STAFF ARE VERY FRIENDLY

Good range of different Chinese and Cantonese foods. Also has a decent selection of salads and sweets. Not expensive either, eat as much as you like. Will put a couple of pounds on you though.

Has an amazing reputation within the area so was disappointed to find a place with run down decor, little availability in terms of buffet items and wonky floorboards.

We go most Sunday afternoons and the food is great. It's not the best looking place or very modern but the food and staff make up for it

Better than average Chinese buffet, staff are attentive, food is reasonably good, decent selection, freshly made. Drinks, as is usual with buffets are overpriced and the menu is better in the evenings and at weekends, more variety, better quality but the price is hiked up from the more basic lunch time options. It's worth a visit though and always a good meal.

After being to a few buffet restaurants in Edinburgh, the Regent does not seem good value especially going on a Saturday evening. There is not much choice for main courses. The staff though are friendly and attentive.

THEY TAKE THE TIPS OFF THE YOUNG SERVERS. They let the young servers do the tables and fetch the bill then they step in and take the money. He put the tip money in his pocket It's illegal and it's theft. I want everyone to know. I couldn't even tip my server for this reason, he'd lose his job if he didn't hand it over. Please tell me you don't support this practice.

The place was just really rushed. Hadnt even finished my food before the guy was taking my plate away (place wasnt busy so its not liked they needed the table) Shouting at the staff in front of our table and overall just a horrible atmosphere.

Been coming here for years and never once had a bad meal. Staff are always attentive and friendly. Good place for family meals, I started coming before I had kids, during pregnancy and took my twin babies, toddlers and now they are 6 , they love coming here 😁

Well what can I say would not even give the place one star. When for Xmas dinner today service awful food was warm ish we had 3 kids with is but as they were 12 year old charged us an adult rate two of our guest were in hospital but they still charged us first bottle of wine corked they did bring another one buffet Chinese plenty of selection food and drinks over priced and service shocking wI'll not necessarily be going back and will ensure everybody I know the same stay away!! We paid over 400 for 8 adults and 4 kids rip off!!!

While other reviewers say there is a good range of food here it would be more appropriate to say that it has a good range of what’s available in this area. The outside of the building looks like it’s seen better days but the inside is nice and well set out. The food is good enough but nothing special.

Absolutely massively disappointed ROYAL REGENT been here fewtimes its never amazing but usually acceptable. Today totally wast of money and time. Who leaves a buffet still hungry well ( all ) at our table today left as we couldn't enjoy tasteless runny dishes. Been hear a good fue times and this is the last !!!!!! Be ashamed to call your self a restaurant. Wouldn't give it to adiwell inmates never mind the public. And if I could give no stars I would!!!!!!!
