Nero Pizzeria in West Lothian

Placed order online just before half past 7 on a Friday evening. Once I had placed and paid for the 2 pizzas, I was informed that it would not be delivered until 9.15! I would never have placed the order if we had been advised before paying for it that it would be that long. In fact, the order did not actually arrive until 9.35 - over two hours for a delivery of 2 pizzas! To add insult to injury, the pizzas were cold and one did not even have all of the ingredients which were on the order! Very poor. It will be a very long time before I try using them again and would be reluctant to recommend them based on this latest order. I would have preferred to provide the feedback directly to Nero themselves but unfortunately their app does not facilitate this!

Ordered online at 6pm, said it would be ready at 6.30. Arrived to pick this up sent my daughters in to pick it up. 7pm they still had not come back. Phoned to enquire as it was now 30 mins late. The lady apologised and said it had just come out of the oven and was ready. Got home literally less than a five minute drive food was cold, chips were not cooked, and pizza was severely undercooked!!! Had to put it in the oven for ten minutes for it to be edible. This has gone downhill from before. Waste of £50

I just want to share the experience i had with the food and staff was amazing. Although we were a group of 7(4 adults and 3 kids). They served us quick, extremely understanding and the food was amazing. Compliments to the staff and chefs for a unforgettable experience and good time.

After a holiday in Italy I can truly say Nero does not disappoint. Fresh delicious pizza, smooth red wine, strong espresso and cannoli as good as in sicily you need to try it. Friendly and efficient service made this a first class meal. Delicimo.

Amazing Pizzas, Loaded Chips & service. Love it there, always worth a visit.

We had the 18" Dallas pizza and Firecracker dirty fries between us, the pizza was perfectly cooked, crispy base with a really even distribution of toppings without making it soggy / floppy. The dirty loaded fries were a lot bigger portion than we expected, just the right level of spice and a substantial amount of toppings. I was also pleasantly surprised by the beer that I hadn't tried before but was also delicious. We'll definitely be back!

The best pizza in the area! There is an option for dine in. I've not tried it yet, but it looks so cosy. Every time I came for collections, the staff was smiling. I tried gyros twice, and I liked it too.

I just felt the thin crust was too thin

excellent, cheap, authentic itilian food with lovely staff who always try their best. This pizza restaurant has very good quality pizza which is why it is such an easy place to become a default restaurant when someone asks where we should eat 5/5 pizza which is authentic. Really worth a visit!

Came here for a birthday meal and have to say, we left disappointed. They know their pizza well, however their pasta dishes don't meet the mark. The Scottish chef doesn't quite have the understanding to produce a true Italian dish. Arrabbiata pasta is fundamental to any Italian menu, however the penne itself was clumped together in many places, and the sauce was scarce, lacking that vital deep richness it is known for. You should never need to salt an Arrabiata at the table. The spaghetti Puttanesca had to be sent back, lacking any taste of anchovies, only for the chef to begrudgingly remake the dish. This led to my partner and I eating at separate times, taking away from the experience and togetherness. Though the service was top notch, considering the prices overall aren't too different from our regular nearby Bar Leo, I would always suggest going there instead for better overall traditional Italian atmosphere, food, and quality of experience.

Ordered on the app this evening, asked for asap delivery, took 90 minutes to get to me. When I called to chase, the customer service was shocking, the worst I have experienced. Pizza was burnt when it arrived. Wish this was a first but really seem to be going downhill lately. Manager didnt care when I raised the issue. Won’t use again.

A lovely wee Italian restaurant tucked away in Linlithgow! We came for the pizza as recommended by others. A great variety of pizza selection and even the choice to make your own, they come in 18" and 13" sizes - crust was thin, crispy and a good chew to it which is how I like my pizza! We also had the pollo dirty fries which were delightful. Definitely recommend and will be back to try out different pizza toppings!

It was our first time visiting Nero Pizzeria. I was so excited to order a gluten free pizza, and it did not disappoint. It was the best pizza I've eaten in a very long time since discovering I had a GF intolerance. Such a gem of a place!

Cheese pizza has very little cheese - £17 for a pizza with mostly just sauce :( wouldn’t recommend, over priced and pretty basic. Won’t order again

Unfortunately where we were sat at the last table before the kitchen, my chair was hit multiple times by passing waitresses and waiters. Our table was clearly in the way of others. I had to chase part of the order and it came out later than the rest. The back door was open the full time we were eating with delivery drivers continually coming and going, the air conditioning was on and pointing directly at us so our food was cold within minutes. I did tell the waiter and he agreed the air con was cold and pointing at us. Paid full price for cold pasta and pizza which isn't enjoyable. Ashame as heard great things about this place but I won't be back

Discovered a bit by chance via the internet during our camper van trip. Great discovery! We ate very well (pizza and pasta) and the children's dishes were well proportioned. The wait there was not very long (order via their website) and the staff was very friendly. I recommend !

Good value for money. The food tasted not so good, especially the dry pizza margarita. The staff were friendly. There was not a lot of room as you had to book online first so we ate on the window sill, which was very cramped. Would not come here again.

Can't really comment on atmosphere as we ordered a carry out. Portion of pasta was huge and the pizza really nice. Great value for money. Don't remember the exact cost though.

How being directed by Just Eat when it was ordered direct through Nero’s website is beyond me. Pizza arrived cold. Chickcorn pizza was a joke. Two pieces of chicken per slice with the same amount of corn kernels. Value for money at Neros had gone down hill.

Came in for pizza as an anniversary treat. As always pizza was great, the Nutella pizza bites were amazing and loved the churros! Would 100% recommend and will be back soon

We had my sons birthday at Nero. Pizza making for 6 10 year olds. They were fantastic with the kids, food was excellent. Highly recommend 👌🏻

Has always been our favourite takeaway and food is usually great. I’m not sure if they’ve changed hands but very disappointed with our order tonight. Crust was burnt black and impossible to bite, pizza base was soggy and they had added large chunks of raw garlic to the pizza. We ordered a side of chips and these were mushy/soggy with hardly any of the chilli & Parmesan we had paid to add. Really surprised by the change in standard

Gyros needs more tzatziki, chicken was a bit dry. Not bad though.

Ordered some food at 6pm on a Saturday evening, well aware that this is obviously going to be a busy night. After 2 hours we called to ask for an update with an apology offered that the driver was delayed but was on his way. It was another 45 minutes after this that we got the notification that the driver had now left and was expected for delivery another half an hour later. Very disappointing as we had chosen delivery instead of collection thinking there would only be a slight delay.

They have *excellent* gluten free pizza as well as great gluten-containing pizza, which means we can all order from the same place and eat well which is so nice. Highly recommend!

We chose the restaurant because there was something for each of us and we were very pleasantly surprised Best pizza eaten in a long time Burger was styled like a pizza calzone and was the first in Scotland that was really good. One person ate a chicken gyro, which also tasted very good. We will be happy to come back on a future visit to Scotland.

I had a really good pizza and cannoli pastry at Nero Pizza. The pizzas they make are the thin crust type, so worth going to the restaurant to enjoy (vs delivery). The canoli was so good because they put the filling in the crunchy shell just before serving it! Yum!

I admit, the ambience needs to be improved and the boss is wearing sweatpants. The food, on the other hand, is just really good. The best traditional burger I've ever had.

After 2 hours waiting for delivery the pizza was cold and fell apart completely!

We love Nero and eat at least twice a month there. The food is the best Italian food in the area and never disappoints. The service is amazing and always so nice to be welcomed with a friendly face to make the week more joyful in a chill relaxed environment.

Usually lovely, amazing pizza however, vegetable lasagne is literally just cheese and pasta sheets with a wee bit veg in it…hardly any taste and shocking for £9.50

Lady at front of restaurant rude and snappy and the restaurant wasn’t even busy. Cannot believe the appalling customer service we received from her one of the worst we’ve ever had. We couldn’t work the app and she still wouldn’t let us have the 20% if you order through the app and wouldn’t help us. Chicken was dry and little sauce on chicken Milanese couldn’t eat it. Would not recommend at all highly dissapointed

Ordered pizza and chips, £25 and had to wait 2 hours for it to be delivered. Food arrived not even lukewarm and was stone cold within 2 minutes. We also paid extra to have more toppings on the pizza which weren’t given to us. Pizza had barely any cheese on it whatsoever and far too much tomato sauce. Half the toppings were stuck to the box lid also. Never ordering from Nero’s again and advise everyone else to do the same if you don’t want to waste your time and money. Ended up binning half of our dinner, what a joke.

Was looking forward to eating here as it came highly recommended. The food I ordered was very good, couldn't fault that, the service was okay but nothing special, I wouldn't sit in ever again as the whole place lacked any kind of ambience due to the busyness of attending to obviously large number of delivery orders being dealt with. These orders kept the staff far too busy to pay any proper attention to the sit-in customers. A big disappointment that they had no coffee or even a coffee machine. Think they need to change their window which advertises 'pizza, pasta, coffee, ice cream. All in all I won't be going there again but I would order their food as a delivery.

Please sort out your app, its your app and therefore your responsibility!!!!! Edit to add, we have reported issues with the app on a number of occasions. Repeat customers are supposed to get a discount on every 6th order and it does not work. Having previously reported the issue we were told to speak to a member of the team next time we ordered and we would be offered the appropriate discount. We phoned and spoke to the store on Friday and was told the manager was off and no discounts can be offered and therefore nothing can be done. Re-setting the app does not work! We love your food but you need to take responsibility for your app and get it fixed!

Food is always fantastic, unfortunately I was just spoken to in such an abrupt manner this evening that I won’t be back. Went in to order a pizza, was approached by a member of staff whom I gave my order to, only to be snapped at by a completely different member of staff who was already on the phone that I had to wait my turn and she could only do one thing at a time. I would never have interrupted a phone call and was quite clearly speaking to her colleague who was free, so this uncalled for snap has unfortunately made me reconsider my future custom to this business.

Really lovely pizza place. Our son have so many allergies and we asked for a vegan pizza and he loved it. I think the chef went especially to the local shop to get vegan cheese. This was nice. And the staff were so so friendly not just with us but kind to everyone. Nothing was a problem. My wife and I shared a big pizza carbonara and it was delicious too. Thanks for the good service and the good food.

Have had pizza from here many times when it was “From Italy to Scotland”. First time since the rename and had 18” Haggis & Black pudding and it came with EXTREMELY limited toppings. Paid for 3 toppings and came like this. Hardly any toppings… Black pudding on the pizza was also entirely raw. You need to cook it thoroughly before putting on pizza!

Our family’s favourite restaurant by far, we visit weekly and it never disappoints. The pizzas are outstanding and delivered straight from the oven, could not be fresher. Although they taste super good at home too! The staff are fantastic and make it such a family friendly place to be. Could not rate highly enough 😊

Customer service is awful. Ordered a delivery which we waited for 2 hours. Called up and the manager told me the delivery guy had been to the house but our video doorbell said different. Manager shouted down the phone telling me I was in the wrong. Eventually they did prepare and send the food with a voucher but too little too late unfortunately. Terrible management

Pizzas are excellent. Delivery can be a long time at weekends, so order in good time or collect instead. Worth waiting for though.

The best value, authentic, Italian Pizzeria in Scotland. The sort of place I don't want to share. I just want to keep it to myself. The Pizza are consistently incredible, visit after visit. You have to try them! First visit. Order an 18" to share. Start with a Focaccia if you know what's good for you. Get the Conolo for desert. Too full after Pizza? Get it to take away. They are fantastic! The coffee is great quality. Get an espresso for the road. Me and my family love this place. Very well deserved 5*

After living in Italy twice I'm kinda picky when it comes to pizza... but Nero is honestly one of the best pizza places I've found in the UK! They make it in a proper pizza oven so the base is amazing, the sauce is good and the cheese is 👌😍 The staff are super lovely and we get pizza from here very regularly and they are literally perfect every single time! I honestly couldn't recommend this place more!!

I got a completely different pizza (I ordered calzone) and the cheese was very weird, just fell of the crust.

Ordered thru Just Eat at 6.20pm on a Tuesday evening and the web page said it would be delivered by 7.15pm, which was fine. Got the confirmation email thru from Just Eat giving estimated time of 7.45pm. I called to find out if that was the case and was told there was only one order after mine so it would be earlier than that. After calling again at 7.45pm was told it was an 8.45pm delivery!! Food eventually arrived at 7.55pm and it wasn't worth the wait. Very disappointed as we love supporting local businesses. We won't be ordering from here again. ☹

Hubby and i had lovely meal here, had a pasta each and shared a pizza 🍕 and a tiramisu. I don't think the food tastes great to take away but if you eat it freshly cooked in the restraunt its gorgeous. Staff were lovely too. Definitely a place I go back to time and time again.

Fantastic pizza once again. My wife wasn't keen on hers but then she picked her toppings so I say she was at fault. I had the Highland and it's brilliant. The children had Pepperoni and Margherita and they were superb. The dough's great and the sauce is great and if you can get those things right, you've got a good pizza

i ordered calamari as a starter and pizza, not tried Nero before. the calamari was very disappointing, basically fried dough rings for £8. i couldn't taste any squid or for that matter anything fishy. i only ate half of them. this was then forgotten about as i had the pizza next. it was really good and the tastiest one i have had locally definitely. ill be back for a pizza to pick up again! i wish restaurants tasted things. some Italian nonnas will be turning in their graves with the calamari :-(

Absolutely some of the nicest pizza I have had in a long time, and I'm hard to please since having some of the best food in Melbourne. Authentic Italian pizza with the best base. Cannot recommend highly enough. About a million miles away from Zizi's. Thankyou :)

Food is amazing as are most staff, there is one member of staff (possibly the manager/owner) who has struck me on the two occasions I have visited since FITS closed down as overly-confident to a point of arrogance and who frankly is quite off-putting in the manner in which he conducts himself. Do love the food though, I'm assuming they kept the same kitchen staff.
