Amore Restaurant in West Lothian

Had a delivery from here for the first time and it was great. Chips retained a bit of crunch and weren’t soggy and pizza was well cooked and very flavourful. Delivery driver was polite.

This restaurant never disappoints. We went to celebrate a birthday, 7 adults, 5 kids. We ordered a variety of pastas, pizzas and risottos, and they were all good. Portion size is good, and the smaller kids were well catered for too.

Been here a few times this year on the Saturday lunch time menu. 2 courses for £12. Went recently for my dad's birthday and once again can't fault it. The staff very friendly, quick service and the food always very good.

So glad we drove here - the food is excellent; the portion size is very good; service friendly and polite. Thoroughly enjoyed....will put this on our list of go-to restaurants!

One of the nicest meals we have had.

The chef at this atrocious restaurant was screaming in the kitchen about some garlic bread in the kitchen which is very unprofessional, and I asked for a medium rare steak and i received a blue one instead, and overall the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting, there was skid marks all over the toilet, NEVER COME TO THIS RESTAURANT

Took my wife for a lovely meal on Saturday night to mark our 30th year together. the staff were great and also the food, we went here on our first date in October 1993 when it was called the La Nuit will be back soon. Matt and Kathleen

The atmosphere was amazing. I was a bit disappointed by the pasta. I got Fruta Di Mare tagliatelle, the seafood was frozen low quality, and the sauce they used was pizza sauce.

Amazing. Locals said it was tired as they had been over 5 years ago. Well go now its gorgeous. Food was 5* service was also 5*. Went on a Wednesday evening. That impressed I've booked for Christmas day !. Go visit, it's lovely 😍

I haven't actually sat in for a meal yet pritty hard between work and kids but get take out often amazing food never been disappointed but I'm plane jane stick to what i know if you like breaded mushrooms you will love the fungi al aglio my kids are so fussy but love the focaccia and formagio bread would definitely recommend

Love this place. After a short discussion tonight, ultimately decided that this is the best local Italian we know from choice of food to the service everything is amazing. Also been coming for at least 15 years. Always look forward to a meal when we go. Can't recommend it enough Top class

Stunning, my partner took me for my birthday and i have to admit it was stunning, i had went a few years ago and it was ok, but on Saturday i couldn't fault it. The server was attentive and had a great table manner. Now onto the food, my partner got the brushetta and i the prawn cocktail, he got the calzone and i the pollo amore which was butterfly chicken and a creamy mushroom sauce, well all i can say it was simply stunning from start to finish, even the beer was ace. The sauce i couldn't stop eating the chicken was super tender and he had said his calzone was amazing the dough was light and not to heavy, he normally struggles with 2 course but he kept going back to it and finally devoured the full plate. We cant wait to go back or even order a cheeky takeaway.

Absolutely delicious food and friendly attentive service with a smile. We've tried many dishes from the menu and never fail to be impressed, from their delicate buttery bruschetta to pasta with sumptuous sauces and tender meat dishes, I'd recommend them all. Lovely ambience too. Definitely our favourite restaurant and btw their takeaway/ delivery is excellent, fast prompt delivery and piping hot.

Great food, every dish we were served was fresh and tasty, top notch. The two boys who dealt with us were excellent, they were very chatty and cheery as well as professional and attentive. Superb stuff

What can I say? Utterly sumptuous food, completely authentic and not the usual reheated from a batch. Only had takeaway but have been recommended to dine in as locally their reputation is second to none. Staff incredibly polite and friendly. 1st Class.

Visited Amore for the first time after a recommendation from a friend. Took my son for his birthday and so glad I made that choice. My sirloin steak was cooked perfectly the way I like it, the garlic butter over it was delicious. Served with a fresh crispy salad and chips. Portion size was very big and unfortunately I couldn't finish it....my son finished my steak lol. Service was so attentive and we had a lovely time. Well done Ismail :)

The first time in a long time back at the Amore restaurant and I must say the food was amazing so many different things on the menu I had a prawns starter and I have to say one of the best veal dishes I have had very tasty well recommended the restaurant the food oh I forgot the staff are very friendly as well will definitely be back and a bonus they do my favourite beer Birra moretti

First time I have been in this local restaurant and now I wonder why? Good atmsophere despite the tables being spaced. Our table was cleaned and disinfected prior to our use.Service was excellent wthout being intrusive.First class menu at very good pricesHighly recommended

Well I met a man who told me he owner a wee Italian restaurant in Armadale called Amore, he said it was good place to eat and me being a sucker for good Italian food I decided to try it. The decor was nice and the atmosphere was good with a fire burning away on the wall. The waitress took our coats and seated us and then the menus came. Wine list was good prices with good all round selection. We ordered a Bottle of Red and started to look through the menu. Good selection of starters and mains and it was all served in good time and food was excellent. My fillet steak was cooked perfect and for once did not have to send it back. All round good experience and we shall be back for sure and we will be bringing family.

This is a beautiful and well centered Italian restaurant. High class at a low price the weiters were so nice. We had pasta, steak red wine held nothing back. And to end it all we had a Tiramisu AAA so good

Excellent meal. We had Bruschetta to start and it was delicious. On crunchy Italian bread with fresh tomato and basil. We then had Sirloin steaks cooked to perfection with crispy chips and Diane sauce. Absolutely scrumptious! Highly recommended.

Met my friend here for a tea mid week for a tea time speacial. It was really tasty. Plenty of food we were both satisfied after our dinner. Good value for money.

Vriendelijke bediening , een uitgebreide kaart met Schotse invloed, sommige gerechten niet echt Italiaans! De voorgerechten vlot geserveerd, aangenaam geprijsd, de rode en witte huiswijn lekker! Het hoofdgerecht lekker, ook nu in ons grote gezelschap vlot en tegelijk geserveerd op nieuw met een Schotse twist! Dat gold ook voor het nagerecht! Kortom een aanwinst voor Armadale waar je lekker voor een redelijke prijs kan eten. Maar echt Italiaans..... ?

I review this restaurant a fair bit as it constantly refreshes the decor ,menus and food. The general ambience is lovely with a fire making it cozy . The food was up to its usual high standards , waiting staff professional and friendly. I recommend if you have not been give it a try, It welcomes family and couples

We have been to this restaurant many times and always return. We love the ambience, the food, and the customer service is best of anywhere we have been. All for a reasonable price. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely awful meal... fish was full of bones and watery...frozen veg...waitet could see it wasn't edible and then stated I should have asked for it to be deboned! Maybe you should have offered? Men's meals where far too sweet and looked dry and sticky... was the steak strips... had a better meal on the motorway services!

8 members of our club ate at this restaurant tonight and everyone really enjoyed their meal. My friend and I are gluten free and the manager and staff were amazing and went beyond the call of duty to ensure we had the same excellent experience as the rest of our group. As we could not eat most of the sweets which I have to looked fab and according to the guys were delicious, we were provided with GF biscuits and cheese.

This is a lovely little gem of a place.unassuming and from the outside you wouldn't give it a 2nd glance but it's really cosy with tasty Italian food cooked to perfection and reasonably priced

Had a risotto which was not made with arborio rice but some cheap rice. The pasta my friend ordered was reminiscent of food you eat while camping. Staff were not attentive at all. This is not an Italian restaurant but it was cheap.

went here recently with my bf , apparently cant order what food you want has to be either potatoes with veg or chips with salad ?? never tasted steak like it in my life , very odd we wished we had bought two from asdas for seven quid , oh and they even charge 1.70per glass of soda water , what a rip off not ever be back , the chubby middle aged waiter even forgot the olives we ordered to nibble on while they cooked the chips in the oven (30 mins plus ) poor bf was really generous with his penny tip , lol ..

8 of us visited for a 70th birthday dinner, as always great choice, great food, great service. Would recommend it to anyone for a quiet family dinner

Comida horrible, langostinos y vieiras asqueroso, de hecho todos los entrantes donde lleno de aceite y horrible. Los platos principales no era lo mejor. Si bien este es un italiano, Dios mío! ! ! ! Una pareja que estaba en la parte trasera hay langostinos entrante enviado todavía congelados. Pedí un filete que estaba bien, pero la selección de verdura fría zanahorias brócoli y coliflor GUAU! Nunca le voy a este "restaurante" comimos en muchos italianos, y para ser sincero hubiera preferido tenía un Mcdonalds.

Thoroughly enjoyed the food here. We went on a saturday night and the service was great and my food was lovely. Prices were reasonable. Nice cosy little place. We will definately be back here.

Have been here multiple times with family and it has really been hit and miss. Ordered some take away on the weekend which was the first time we had visited in more than 18 months. We were pleased to find that the food seemed to have improved somewhat (the diavolo pizza was nice) and the kitchen staff looked enthused and busy which is a change from the past. We will be back to give it another try but they REALLY need to serve their pasta aldente, not the mush that is consistently served up. Get that right and it would make a huge difference. A nice simple rocket, tomato, parmesan salad wouldn't go a miss either...some simple additions could modernise the menu yet still ensure it appeals to the masses.

Me my husband and son were there last year for my hubby's birthday. All our meals were lovely although I recall my steak being slightly over what I asked for (I asked medium rare and was more medium to well done) although it was a lovely cut of steak. Had dinner here,was nice enough & the staff were great but having not visited for a year or so,found that the menu has become a bit "less Italian".Never seen "Haggis balls"or "Seafood chowder" in many Italian restaurants before!Plenty of pizza & pasta though but it`s a bit obvious that it`s not a true authentic Italian.

Been at Amore good few times over the years but hadn't been for a while until this evening, it's always been known as a 'great wee local restaurant' and that's exactly what it is, decent selection of choice, great steaks, nice wine, good beer and good value. What more do you want from a local restaurant.

Popped in for the first time and had lunch and coffe which were both excellent, I had the pepperoni pizza which was very fresh and extremely tastey. Service was excellent and we left very happy.

£13.60 for two spaghetti carbonara (average-sized portions) was too much to pay on a Wed evening! Pity, because it's a nice wee restaurant, but it now has to compete with the large and bustling Marston's family restaurant up the road - these guys really need to get their thinking caps on if they want to compete and survive.

Tried this restaurant for the first time and it was just ok. The staff were lovely and friendly but the service was very slow and we were told they were serving the big table first! we have eaten here several times and found the place friendly, comfortable and a nice menu. ALways has been some sort of special on the board when we have been. The pizza has always been good , huge plates of pasta and I have had a garlic mushroom starter. Never made it through the puddings but alway had a very good cup of coffee at Amore! House wine is rerasonably priced and when we have been there was free parking next door.

Went out for an evening meal restaurant was quite busy, service still very good, food was lovely and fresh, staff were friendly and prices were very reasonable.

The starter was good but the chicken pollo was terrible chicken stringy as if it was cooked from frozen and very salty. Husbands pork was rotten.sorry but we will not be visiting again.

Been a few times now and always get superb treatment. Food is fresh and cooked to perfection. Good wee selection of wines, great atmosphere and can those chefs cook a steak, wow! You have to try the haggis starter and the jalapeños starter. Prices are excellent value too. Love it!

Been going to this restaurant for years, never once had a bad meal, always get Steak Dianne, steaks are always done to your liking and the sauce is top notch.

We've been to this restaurant several times, perhaps every year for the past 6 or so. This time is was disappointing.The sauce of the prawn cocktail had excessive vinegar, made it less than enjoyable.The chicken was "stringy". Strange texture, though tasted OK. The side order of chips tasted slightly fishy, and were overcooked, many to a crisp just short of burned.The steak was good. Was well done despite ordering medium, but a good piece of beef.The vegetables were the biggest let down. Looked like a supermarket bag of mixed veg, steamed perhaps (or boiled) then with garlic butter. Was hard to finish them.For a dessert we had the blackboard special, "Raspberry Pavlova". This was very nice, but wasn't a pavlova. There were two small discs of merangue, about 50mm diameter, with some icecream, and raspberries, then the whole heaped high with whipped (aerated?) cream. Portion size too large, excessive cream and no pavlova, only merangue diskettes.Normally this is a great place to eat, with exceptional food. This time the same nice place, with lack-lustre food. Chef was not same one we had last time I suspect?

Service was fantastic, very speedy. Food was lovely. Best steak my partner has had for years. The staff were fantastic. They went the extra mile by making me two cocktails even though they are not on the menu or provided. Made my night. Would definitely go back, loved it.

Extremely difficult to comment on the quality of the food or the service as I failed to get past the booking stage. The maitre de did not recognise my voice and would not take my booking for eight people for the following evening unless I paid a deposit up front. I have eaten in many restaurants with a much better pedigree and never been asked for a deposit because they did not recognise my voice. The next step will be McDonalds installing voice recognition software to decide if they can sell you a burger. Very poor show from a very provincial restaurant.

My fiance and I, together with his children, brother and parents went to Amore for a very late Sunday lunch.. Around 5pm.We all received our drinks promptly, friendly service, all food prepared with love including 3 tender steaks cooked to our specifications. We had desserts and all was fine. Only disappointment was when we ordered coffees. My father in law to be kindly asked our waitress if he could have two shots of coffee in his cappuccino. She simply replied ' no'. He presumed that might not have understood his request so he asked for a cappuccino forte instead as it is an Italian style restaurant he thought she might understand Italian as her accent was a bit foreign. She simply replied with the same answer 'No'. So I intervened at this point asking for just a normal cappuccino which she accepted. Then my mother in law to be asked for a flat white. She got the same answer! I tried to explain that it is simply a cappuccino without the froth on top, but again answer was no. So I just felt that was a bit rude. We really enjoyed our meal and we will be back but we hope that our waitress will receive a bit more training on different coffees customers might ask for. Just saying no is not acceptable. We were happy to pay a bit extra for the coffee. All in all we enjoyed our meal.

Having tried this local restaurant a few months back and enjoyed it decided to return.Family meal, ordered fillet steak, chicken and Cajun chicken. Steak requested medium rare and when it came was as tough as boots, poor cut of meat and well done is an understatement. The waitress asked if all was well could tell by our face that it was not right. We said well it is not exactly medium rare we ordered. She left and never confirmed what she was going to do. 5 mins or so later the waiter comes over. We show him the steak and before we can say anything he leans across and grabs the plate to take it away, without permission or asking, how rude! He says he will have another one, well not that we had the choice. Meanwhile we are nearly finished our chicken dish. The Cajun meal was bland and tasteless, not impressed. The chips on the steak and chicken looked as if they had been sitting since lunchtime, rock hard. 10 mins later everyone is finished and the steak comes back, the right colour this time but still cheap cut of meat, better chips. Rubbish coming out to eat together and having to watch someone eat theirs. We orders another wine in the interim and the waitress instead of coming round my side of the table to serve my wine, instead reaches across my mum in law eating her steak and nearly knocks her out. Rude, poor service.We pay and get out quick, no one having a great meal. Not sure the folks running it are Italian, would say Eastern European and no sign of an apology or taking something off the bill. At £18.50 a steak and out of courtesy they should have addressed out concerns. Pathetic all round and won't be back.

I always enjoy my visits to Amore.Since my last visit the restaurant has had slight make over and new menu.This is something which the owner does on a fairly regular basis.I think some other restaurants could follow there lead.The meal as usual was lovely as were staff and it always has a happy family vibe. I would recommend this restaurant to couples or family parties . a hidden gem in Armadale ...
