We eat here quite a bit but 26th April at 12:00 will be our last visit. We sat at table 19-20 and when seated I noticed there was party stuff setup on the tables close to us but didn’t think much of it as well it’s a kids party. About two plates in, the party quests arrived and normally in a restaurant for parties you would normally sit, eat etc. well this group decided it was more of a social club, they had a professional photographer taking pictures and the camera was directed at my own children. When I asked the photographer not to point it at my children I got a negative response from him. For the rest of our meal we struggled to get out our seats due to the large amount of people congregating around our table taking pictures and generally being quite loud. We left early and when I tried to tell the restaurant manager all he seemed concerned about was getting me to go to the photographer to delete any pictures of my kids, which I’d already done anyway. What we really needed was the restaurant to accept that this type of gathering probably wasn’t one in the right location of the restaurant and that two other people dining there were put out there way to accommodate this. The photographer could have even asked if it was ok to take pictures, just a bit of respect really. My kids don’t suffer from seizures but imagine if you had someone dining there that did and constant flashing of a camera set of a seizure. Next time your having a 1st birthday party, choose an appropriate venue like a soft play. Edit in response of reply from restaurant: We were also celebrating my sons birthday and have no issue with any celebration, my issue was the consistent flashing of a camera, the guests were huddled around our table in a group making us feel uncomfortable. Now I understand you think it should be me a paying customer who should point out this clear obnoxious behaviour, however I am sure most people would expect a restaurant who has more people patrolling the restaurant than barlinnie has guards to notice this and do something about it. The fact we left early still paid our full bill and did mention it whilst we left so that other people would not suffer this should be clear there was a problem. Your reply has also strengthened the fact we will not return. So much lost business if Falkirk ever play Livingstone again that’s the sad bit here for you 🔵⚪️🧨

Great variation of food and great value. We were there about seven years ago and glad we revisited. The food was very good from the carvery, the sushi bar, fish, Chinese & Indian section and even the pizzas. The deserts were get good including the chocolate fountain and the ice cream. The staff were all helpful and friendly and worked extremely hard.

Had an amazing time at Hot Flame! The food was absolutely delicious, especially the Indian dishes which were packed with authentic flavors and cooked to perfection. The drinks menu had a great selection, with refreshing cocktails and plenty of non-alcoholic options to choose from. Service was outstanding — the staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. Overall, a perfect spot for anyone looking for a great mix of tasty food, good drinks, and excellent service. Highly recommended!

I used to come here as a little girl but ever since I have been coming recently the food has been terrible rhey changed the recipes and everything the people were very nice and polite but the food was the worst but I spent over £200 on my family for food tyat we didn’t even like I would not like to return anytime soon but I RHANK the staff for making my experience a bit better.

Last friday My husband and i had lunch at hot flame for the first time and we were very impressed by the outstanding service we recieved .Mr pavan kumar one of the manager there was very friendly,attentive, and handled all our request with utmost proffesionalism.Thank you for the wonderful experience ,We will definetly be back soon.

I visited this place earlier on the week. I enjoyed the various of food provided specially sushi bar. All staff were friendly and helpful. Managers was helpful as well

Had an amazing time at Hot Flame! The restaurant has a lively atmosphere, great service, and a huge variety of delicious food. One of the highlights was definitely the Teppanyaki section — it was such a fun experience watching the chefs cook everything fresh right in front of us. The flavors were incredible, and everything was made exactly to our liking. The rest of the buffet was also packed with tasty options, all fresh and well-prepared. Staff were super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. If you're looking for a place with great food and a little entertainment too, Hot Flame is a must-visit!

Was there yesterday hadn't been there in a while , was quiet which was unusual manager was at front of house but he did look fed up , was very clean staff friendly ,there was not much option on food could have been more options , don't know if it's new management but didn't feel as good as it's been before , don't know if I'll be back there

Food is ok nothing special but it’s a buffet so what can one expect, the freshly made section is very nice with fresh naan bread, overall the food was cold I am sure and hope it was fresh though!! The deserts are not that grate and dont like the fact that the food is served in plastic plates! My daughter had an upset tummy by the time we reach home but rest of us are fine so I am sure it’s not related to the food! Lastly I advise everyone to recheck there bills as I was charged for an extra person, usually I don’t check the bills but this time i did and noticed the extra charge which was refunded in cash so no big deal.

One of my favourite all you can eat restaurants in Livingston. A good variety of food available, grill, sushi, traditional UK cuisine, Indian food. Basically covers all the kinds of tastes from grown up, adults and children.

Manager doesn't have etiquette to deal with customer, he (Sid) is very rude. The food is terrible for the price range, not sure how it has passed the safety standards but most of the non veg items were stinking and had to point it out to the Manager but he never accepted, more or less not worth the price for lunch

Visited this wonderful buffet restaurant and from entering we were shown a nice seating area where we had a booth and although you can order a great selection of alcohol we opted for the refills of soft drinks. So the food.. absolutely tasty and always freshly prepared and changed when needed Starters are great from Soup to spicy Chicken wings , Spare Ribs to Chilli Cheese Bites and many more delicious starters that you simply cannot ignore. Mains are excellent from Chinese to Indian to Mexican and more and if you head over to the counter where you see staff with hats they will freshly cook you some steak, burger, fish abd more or if you fancy Roast pork and potatoes with veg or a selection of pizza slices then you can enjoy this too and there is also a great Sushi bar. Finish with delicious Deserts from Gattaux to brownies and more and you can even enjoy a Mr Whippy style Ice Cream Cone before leaving. Hot Flame = Excellent place to eat out.

Great to go if your undecided, they have a bit of everything! They have chefs that will cook to order too. 4 year old nephew loves it, great for him. Keep an eye out for the robot waiter!

The food is mediocre at best. The chocolate fountain was not working. The worst though is the amount of staff walking around and staring. No kidding, i felt like my every bite was observed by dozen pairs of eyes. And not very friendly eyes. This was the second time i gave this place a chance but will not be going back.

Had lunch today 4 of us had chicken and we were all sick within 5 minutes of leaving I phoned them and told them that there chicken was off

We had dinner here for the first time for a birthday treat. Most of the starters were dry and not fresh, so we couldn't enjoy them very much. The live cooking food was excellent.

My fiance and I went here for the first time recently and were definitely underwhelmed. As far as the prepared dishes go, all you can really expect is quality on par with over-salted below average takeaway for some items, and frozen supermarket food for others (especially the starters). The only redeeming quality was the teppanyaki station, but given the small portion sizes and the amount of time it takes to receive your order, it's clearly designed in such a way as to discourage repeat orders. Considering this, the dining experience is massively overpriced. The only way to get your money's worth is to consume an absolutely absurd and unhealthy amount of food, or roll the dice on the teppanyaki station with the hopes you can get a full meal after repeated visits. Also, we were absolutely baffled as to way the sauce for the chicken Tikka Masala was the alarming shade of pink that it was. And just to preempt the person from the business who responds to reviews they don't like, this isn't slander again the restaurant, it is an accurate representation of our experience. The quality of food needs to go up, or the prices need to come down. *Comment below added in response to owner's reply* I find your repeated use of the phrase "legal action" when responding to any reviews less than glowing to be concerning. This could be seen as an attempt to discourage customers from being honest in their reviews. We genuinely did not enjoy the food, and for the price being asked, expected higher quality. Quantity should not be seen as a substitute for quality within each dish.

Busy place with a good food selection.

This place isn’t too bad. A lot of food selection from pizza, curry, sushi and cakes We went at a busy time which was annoying to navigate but we got served quickly and out in about an hour Didn’t like the fact they charged a 5 and 9 year old £20 as an adult

Visited here on Saturday and was very disappointed. The food was terrible. The vegetables were mush. The food was over coloured and sweetened to taste better. Struggled to fill my plate so went to the Tepenyaki bar and had the chef cook me beef in oyster sauce. There was no flavour. Only grease. Compared to other buffets this was one of my worst experiences 😪

Brilliant choice of different foods, well worth the visit

Good choice of food, nice selection of fresh food stations, it's a little on the small side but I like it as the selections work for me. Some of the food is better than others, as with most places like this but there is a good selection for kids who seem determined to try chips, nuggets etc, regardless of what else is on offer! The fresh food stations are all excellent, decent mix of Chinese/Indian dishes in the other areas. A slightly bigger place would allow for a bit more choice for the real fussy eater but for us as a family it has pretty much everything we needed. You can never go wrong with the refillable drinks. Oh, watch out for the robot, he's a nice touch but also an additional hazard to dodge around! Luckily it plays music to let you know where it is.

Food was good as always but my wee boybhad a fall due to a uneven floor between the toilets and restaurant 4 members of staff just walked past him lay crying on the floor complained and jeezo you would think I was 12 the way I was spoken to!

Visited the restaurant last night and wasn’t overly impressed at all with the standard of food. We don’t tend to leave food on our plates and hate wasting food but I felt there was a lot of uneaten because it wasn’t up to scratch at all. The chicken was overcooked and dry, salad from the salad bar wasn’t fresh at all and turning yellow. I got a steak cooked at the grill part and my plate was just dripping with oil. Cheap chocolate in the chocolate fountain with gritty pieces through it. I felt I wasted £60 for myself and my two kids not to eat much at all. And what I have eaten I’ve been woken up during the night with the sorest of tummies and the worst case of the runs. Would not recommend this place for food however the staff were lovely and obviously quick service.

Disappointing Buffet Experience – Not Worth the Price Me and my husband recently had a very disappointing experience at the buffet dinner. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was uncomfortable, especially in the grill and live cooking section. The staff seemed unfriendly and stared at customers, which made the experience very awkward and uncomfortable. The food selection was extremely limited, with only a small variety of dishes to choose from. Many of the items appeared overly colored, which was off-putting. Even the garlic naan bread was oddly spread with green color and tasted raw. The chicken dishes were tough and didn’t seem fresh at all, as if they hadn’t been prepared on the same day. To top it off, the hot chocolate from the fountain was of very low quality, tasting powdered and cheap. For the price charged, the overall experience felt completely overpriced and underwhelming. I would not recommend this buffet, especially considering the lack of quality in both the food and service.

Always nice staff, the food is always hot and excellent, plenty vegan and vegetarian options, also different cousines, Chinese, Italian, Indian, European, the only thing I missed is fresh basic fruits, like grapes, apples, bananas etc, but there were some fresh melon and tin pineapples and tin pears. The layout is great, even if is super busy, you don't feel crowded. Our food was tasy and we enjoyed it very much.

Love this place! We came to Livingston 3 times over the summer just so we can eat here. It's Greta because it has something for everyone. Sushi, mixed grill, carvery, Indian, Asian, Mexican, fried foods, desserts and ice cream. Plus plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. As a tip, if you book a reservation online I believe they offer a slight discount (might apply to weekdays only).

We have been coming to Hot Flame for years now every time we travel through to Livingstone or Edinburgh way! A fantastic range of Chinese, Indian, Italian and live cooking food to choose from. My absolute favourite is the Teppanyaki Bar where my favourite chef puts on a fantastic show juggling his knives and spice bottle, finishing with a spectacular fire show. Brilliant. Sushi is also amazing. Definitely recommended (but bring back the Zinfandel Rose wine as I miss it!)

A great place to have a meal and the amount of different foods is so good to provide for many tastes on what you like i would go back to it sometime,the staff dont say anything it would be better if they could talk more to the customers a nice chat goes a long way.

Really good with an amazing variety of food so something for everyone

My first visit to this buffet. I tried 2 different ones before, and so far this one is the best. I came around 2pm on Saturday, place was almost full but that was actually a good thing because everytime you go for another plate, you can expect hot and fresh food. I wasn't expecting that, but I'm surprised how good the food was, especially chicken pakora.

I never thought I would be writing this. I was in on 14/9/24 at 12.45pm. The starters of haggis vegetable and chicken pakora were burnt to a crisp. I ate what I could then took my plate up to waitress behind bar who then showed Zuzanna Bakalarova. No one came back to me to apologise. Disgusted and not sure if or when I will go back. Very poor. Your happy to take the money but ignore a complaint. Shocking.

Please train your staff, mostly the young girl with bleach blonde hair, to say excuse me and not push/barge past disabled and pregnant customers and then basically say “shut up” under her breath when they ask her to be careful, very inconsiderate and unprofessional, other than the miserable female staff at the bar also meal was alright enjoyable but probably won’t return as don’t feel safe or welcome after my last experience

We have been Hot Flame buffet today for dinner we paid bill but didn't eat. Because food was very bad and not fresh at all ' chicken was like rubber and weird smell was coming from the food . Seems like not eatable we complain to manager but he denied. So we paid bill and left without eat.

Visited tonight for dinner. A little disappointed by the limited choice of starters but this was certainly not the case with main dishes. The grill provided lovely lamb chops and the teppinyaki grill was delicious. The chef was good and informative and gave great customer service. His knife juggling and fire showmanship certainly made my son smile. Thanks Chef!!!! Overall a satisfying experience.

If you like Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Carvery, or Pizza, they have it all! Too bad all of it is just bad. Badly cooked, badly flavoured, cheap food. Not worth the cost. You'd be much better going to literally any of the other food places in the food court or across the road. In response to owner's reply: regardless of so-called ingredient quality, the food was still awful in flavour and badly cooked. The chicken was tough and dry in every meal I tried, the beef in black bean sauce was disgusting in flavour, the fish had a texture like watery jelly, the pizzas looked and tasted like store-bought frozen pizzas (it would be hard to convince me that they aren't). It certainly came across as cheap quality, even though it cost around £15 per head (excluding drinks). That £15 would have been better spent in literally any other food place nearby. Left a buffet still hungry because neither me nor my partner could stomach any more of your extremely subpar food. You may have plenty of satisfied customers, but you also have plenty of dissatisfied ones, judging from the many other reviews saying the same thing. Perhaps instead of replying to negative reviews with just outright denial, you should actually take onboard some feedback and use it as an opportunity to improve. Says a lot about the attitude of management.

There is a very good variety. And most of them were ok. However I do have to say that they have cut the deserts so freaking small that 3 or 4 pieces of brownie would actually equal a normal prownie slice that one would take. I really liked their pakora chicken though

I was excited for this place after all the hype. Unfortunately, hype is all it was. All the staff looked miserable. The pizza was reminiscent of a cook at home pizza from the supermarket. All the meat was unbelievable dry and chewy. All that food and not one quality item. I've been to several different buffet places that cost a lot less with much higher quality. A complete dissapointment. Further to the reply from Hot Flame. There is no exaggeration here. Every pice of food I put in my mouth was sub standard vs the cost. Every piece of meat was dry and chewy. This review is to help possible customers make an informed choice. Also notice how your main focus was on my review of the food and nothing mentioned about the sub par customer service. Kudos.
