I've been here a few times, and usually it's a great laugh. Its basically a night of terrible karaoke, which is always fun. However, my girlfriend was short changed tonight, by about 17 pounds. She did try and sort this out in an amicable way, though the bar staff were more keen on pretending to count the money in the till rather than listening to her. I'm fully aware that people can make simple mistakes and nobody is perfect, but the thing that makes us human is the ability to own up to our mistakes and not leave others 17 pounds our of pocket!Never the less, good karaoke bar.

This is a different kind of pub. A little gem staff are friendly and locals drinking here made us feel welcome. And it had karaoke which was a bonus

OMG!!!We walked in this bar last night!!!!The smell, we may aswell been in a sewerage works!!!It was terrible. The bar lady came over to serve us, she was so miserable, we both had a little giggle of how disinterested she was in her job!!We ordered a drink, unfortunately we couldn’t drink it because of the smell, so we left the premises without drinking it!!The place is a dump and should be closed down!!

I spent the day in Southport which is a town of former glory and pretentious snobbery. So to find a proper bar was quite something. This is what Southport is...a seaside town that attracts rich, working class and a lot of wannabes from Scotland for some reason. Southport is the same as Morecambe or Blackpool....no bigger, no better. Almost every bar you go is living in delusions of grandeur and is so over priced to be hilarious....so to find a real bar with lovely staff, just off the beaten path was lovely.

Poor service. Took ages to take our order and then ages to get our food, which wasn't worth waiting for.

We came to the coffee lounge this afternoon for our pre-arranged afternoon tea. I have had afternoon teas delivered from there on 3 occasions previously in Southport and they have always been excellent so we went with high expectations that one in the lounge would be equally good, if not better. Unfortunately it was extremely disappointing. I had contacted in advanced and paid deposits for each person and received an email from them detailing the menu but the afternoon teas contained no quiche or sausage rolls, no salad or crisps as had been promised and the sandwich selection was uninspiring (only cheese and pickle and ham). When we tried the scones they were cold, hard and stale and frankly inedible (we think the scones and very small pieces of cake had been previously frozen). The only option the waitresses could offer were 2 clingfilmed left over scones from the display cabinet between 4 people. She did say she had tried to contact the owner whilst we were there but received no reply. We live in Northampton and travelled several hundred miles to take our elderly parents out for a treat but were left feeling very disappointed. I emailed the owner but received no response.

Having walked nearly 10 miles along the beach, the dunes and through the pinewoods, Kitty’s Tea Rooms were a very welcome sight! I only wanted a cup of tea but couldn’t resist the coffee walnut cake (YUM) and a very tasty Club Sandwich. Very friendly staff, and a great atmosphere. Perfect.
