Oakley Arms in Bedford

Staying with friends at a local Air BnB (10 mins walk away) we chose to eat at The Oakley. We had an amazing meal -all delicious with a great varied menu to choose from. Staff were attentive and helpful, food fresh and very tasty. Beer and wine selection were perfect. Thanks for a great night

There is a buzzy atmosphere at this popular Harrold pub. Friendly and attentive service from the staff including Josh who advised us well on which wine to drink with our food. All our dishes were delicious and served piping hot.

Consistently serve very good food with friendly service. Fish and chips are probably the best in the area. They rotate their guest ales so always something different to try; this time: Beastly Bat

We walked across the fields to the Oakley with friends and a dog. I had checked before leaving that they were dog friendly which they are. When we arrived we received a warm friendly welcome. The food was excellent and so was the beer. Even the dog had his own bowl of water and a Bonio dog biscuit. The atmosphere and service was also first class with a special mention for Susie who could not be more helpful. All in all a very pleasant couple of hours spent and well worth the walk. I have no hesitation in recommending the Oakley for either a leisurely lunch or an evening out.

Good food and warm welcome. I’ve been there with my daughter and his 20 months old child and everybody was nice and helpful. They have a children’s menu. For the adults, delicious traditional food with a touch of creativity that makes the difference. I’ll be back when in Bedfordshire.

I revisited The Oakley Arms, this time with my husband, and we had the most delicious meal. We were given a warm and friendly welcome and a lovely table in the window. Table service was excellent. The food was, as previously, imaginative, using seasonal ingredients with care to create a fabulous meal. I’m looking forward to when we can visit again. Thank you for yet another wonderful evening.

This is easily the best meal we have ever enjoyed out. The food is amazing, all lovely local produce and a good variety of options on the menu.
