Landlady and staff couldn’t do anything more for me and my daughters for a few drinks in the afternoon. The landlady even gave my daughter a charger to charge her I phone. Faultless pub

Good pub, been around a long time, and my family goes regularly. I was disappointed when I travelled over from Nottingham yesterday to eat and we were told the wait for food was about an hour (it actually was a fair bit longer than that). The pub was about 1/3 or less full, which made that seem strange…….. until it became apparent they were running the entire FOH with 2 staff- during summer holidays. The two staff that were running around trying to handle the complaints about meals taking over an hour to come out were great, but a shame they were put in this position. It’s the school holidays/ summer, of course it will be busier. Two tables of diners would have easily covered the wages of one additional team member during the busy period leading to a much more pleasant experience for your employees and importantly your customers. Food quality is average, but that’s pub grub so no complaints there. What was supposed to be a relaxed family dining experience became hampered by being told things we’d ordered had ran out once we’d sat back down (both with our mains and again with the dessert), very long delays, then a rush to finish our meals, because we hadn’t expected it would take over 2 hours from ordering for a quick family lunch.

Had a chicken mix it was phenomenal and I had a lovely experience and the staff where lovely will definitely be visiting again

We visited as a family of four. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. We asked if they could accommodate my daughter's additional needs and cook her something slightly different to what was listed on the menu. They were fantastic and more than happy to ensure my daughter was happy and satisfied. They ensured she was happy and really went the extra mile for not just her, but all of us. The food was lovely and arrived with very little wait. The staff checked in with us after it arrived and I cannot stress how good they were. We look forward to visiting again soon and we would highly recommend.

Great atmosphere, really good quality food, 2 x meals, bottle of wine and a couple of pints for under £30 😄 staff friendly and always helpful. A group of us go when its quiz night which is excellent and includes, cards, quiz and open the box. Usually there is football on tv as well. We have been going for many years and it has never been as busy as it is now with a good mix of age groups from families to people like ourselves in our 70's. Well done to the landlady and her team

One of the best pubs in Mansfield. Friendly bar staff, clean and welcoming pub with all the facilities you'd expect. They go the extra mile, do their best with group bookings, the downstairs party room is great and the drinks and food are great for a green king pub. The live music is good aswell as the quiz and sticky 13's...always a laugh. Last but not least, the landlady, she's an absolute legend, a lovely legend in fact. Keep up the great work Oaky.

Really comfy pub, great selection of beers and lovely friendly staff. It's become a regular Friday tradition to visit after a bike ride and eat too many bar snacks!!

I have been to the Oak Tree on a few occasions with friends now and have to say that it is one of our favourites in Mansfield. The service is fantastic and the staff are more than happy to help. Vyara, Roz, Alice and Kayleigh are an asset to the pub and can't be any more welcoming, even when busy. We had a pint that didn't taste quite right and it was sorted swiftly and no issues. We can't fault this venue at all or the staff and can only recommend that you give it a whirl, especially on a Thursday for quiz night.

I visited the pub, I had a drink which didn’t taste right- I went to the bar and spoke to the woman at the bar (Vyara) she rolled her eyes and said ‘well it was the same drink you had before’ I said I understand that but it doesn’t taste right- I said she was welcome to try it to which she replied ‘well I won’t be doing that after you’ve drank out of it ‘ She said she would get me another one but it will be from the same pump. The bar was busy- the other people at the bar were shocked at how she had spoken to me. As an adult and paying customer I have a right to say if I’m not happy with something without being made to feel embarrassed and humiliated.

As a regular visitor I can't praise the staff highly enough: Welcoming, helpful, efficient, attractive (probably not allowed to say that but it's true!). Great team, great pub.

We enjoyed a lovely relaxed lunch here today, and it was wonderful. Friendly, welcoming atmosphere, comfortable surroundings. Food was wonderful, too. Ten out of ten from us! 😃

This was the first time i went here and sorry to say it will be the last i ordered a turkey dinner and was appalled at the portion size i am gluten and dairy free and explained this and told them id have roast potatoes instead of mash and no Yorkshire puds my meal came with just turkey a sprig of broccoli a few carrots peas and beans. I asked about my potatoes but the lady said they are not gluten free if i was told this at the bar i would have ordered something else so I'd have a decent portion sized meal for the price

Proper pub with a great selection of cask ales and a great price during the cask festival. Kitchen had closed because I finished work late but nothing a pack of pork scratchings didn't sort out lol The ginger lady was very friendly and told me all about the 2 quiz nights and upcoming band night

I booked the downstairs function room for a 60th birthday party with around 55 guests, ages ranging from 70’s to children under 1 year of age. Having enquired at other local venues, I decided that the Oak Tree was better suited for our needs in respect of size and cost & locality. We were kindly allowed access in good time to prepare the room for the event. Management at the pub had been badly let down by the DJ at a recent planned event there but they had worked hard to get a suitable replacement disco for the night at short notice. Our event went well & the food was good. I was very pleased with the way things went, Roz and her manager deserve a mention for their efforts in making the night an excellent experience.

Had the pleasure of meeting Emma and Holly, who are each the perfect ambassador of the Oak Tree. Our first visit was welcoming and by the second visit we felt like family. It was evident by the way they interacted with the locals, that this is truly their nature. See you soon.

3 of us ate here for sunday lunch and was very dissappointed with the food. We ordered via the app which was straight forward and food came out in a reasonable amount of time, but the food wasn't great at all. Roast beef was really tough and full of gristle. Roast potatoes looked overdone and tasted like they'd been reheated several times. yorkshire pudding was impossible to cut with a knife, dry and hard. carrots were also hard and dry and would have been softer if they were raw. eating it was a jaw work out! needless to say, we wont be returning

Thought we’de give it another try as we only live over the road and once again (3rd or 4th time) it fails miserably on customer service WHEN THEY MAKE MISTAKES. It’s every time ….. !!!! The So called chef needs a bit of training on customer service. Ordered the food at the bar. Waited a fair while (not excessive) and both plates of food put down and server legged it… Not given chance to see that one dish was totally wrong… after going back to the bar (Q) again…. to report the error, my dish going cold, bar staff reported the error to the kitchen. Server came back out and wanted to take wrong order back and recook it BUT ONLY WHEN I WENT BACK TO THE BAR TO PAY THE EXTRA £2 !!!! Yes £2 the difference between what they’de charged and whet came out (their fault remember)…. so I did (in a Q) ….. meanwhile my dish going cold and the server then wanted to (wait for it ) re-warm up my dish and come back out when the wrong one was recooked !!!!!!! Piss off…. Asked server to cook 2 fresh dishes to come out correct at the same time, only to have a message back from the dillusional chef that he wouldnt cook 2 fresh dishes .. I’m supposed to eat a soggy warned up dish 20 minutes later when the wife’s dish comes out .. Out of order, bad customer service… fel sorry for the lovely young lady that initially took the order, but obvious;y the chef and manager aren’t on the same page as her… Oh and p.s. the place needs a refund it smelt of wee as you went to the table .
