Best food ever could come every day of my life

This was one of the best dinners I had in London in a while. We tried 3 different pastas and the portions were so big that we could not finish between 3 of us. And they were absolutely delicious!!! Also the wine was the best I ever had. The staff were very fun and lovely. Will definitely be back!

It was great to be back at Numero Uno. Not been for a few years. But won’t leave it as long again. My mum and I both had pasta - both dishes were delicious. And such a lovely team - some have been there for many years and it was great to see them again!

Went to Numero Uno at weekend with our 4.5 year old. Been coming here for years and it never disappoints! Food and service are outstanding. By far the best Italian in South London. Excellent with children, our boy was given extra attention and treats…highly recommend!

Our first visit to this restaurant. Great welcome by both members of the waiting team with a smile. The food was excellent well presented and full of taste. Save room for pudding. The tiramisu was one of the best I’ve had outside of Italy.

Lovely local Italian restaurant, was able to sit outside on a Sunday evening which was wonderful. I had the fagioli soup to start followed by the orecchiette with sausage and broccoli which were delicious. The tiramisu to finish had a little too much cocoa powder for me but otherwise was a lovely end to the meal. Also put a shot of limoncello on the house for us each - where else do you get that service in London?! Would highly recommend!

Always the best. We come here most weeks and find it hard to go elsewhere. The pasta is superb. The service is great. If you want authentic Italian, this is the place.

A beautiful place, with an even more beautiful environment and staff. The food came at a good pace - it didn’t take long at all, but it wasn’t rushed at all. Every dish was perfectly cooked, no cold bits or non-fresh ingredients in sight! Personally, ordered the Spaghetti Vongole and….perfect. The only word I’d use. As mentioned before, all the food was fresh and delicious. The drinks were refreshing, and overall very, very good. In terms of atmosphere, it’s cosy and relaxing. At one point the lights dimmed, and everything became, somehow, more comforting and intimate. Despite the noise of other customers, everyone in the group I was with felt at ease. All the cutlery and plates were pristine, and we were given citrus scented wipes after our mains - which were very helpful. The tables had tablecloths, which is always amazing as nowadays they no longer seem to be used as much. Lastly, the staff. Everyone was absolutely delightful, greeting us the minute we walked in and not hesitating for some banter as food was delivered and brought away. We had the absolute pleasure of talking a lot with Daniele, and he was more than amazing! Laughter all around, and made our dining experience even better. Overall, very amazing place. Would definitely recommend coming here either with family or dates! Atmosphere is lovely, food is to die for, and just nice all around. 10/10.

Nice buzzy ambience on a busy Sat. Food was alright, but service was terribky slow! We had to wait an hr. for our main course and they didn't even bother asking if we wanted to have dessert! When after hrs. of waiting we asked for dessert menu, response was 'you want to have dessert?'. I understand Saturdays are busy, but expected a better service than this.

I have been coming here for years. There are few places in London which serve authentic, delicious Italian food consistently. If you get the chance you must go.

Considering it is on our doorstep, I would really love this place but sadly I can't. I have been there a number of times and having lived in Italy I find the food really disappointing and average. However, the final straw was the lobster spaghetti that was so salty that it was inedible(and I love salt). The waiter came over to ask how our food was and we told him it was too salty to eat and he just left with no comment. The last time I went to that place.

Fabulous and popular (best to book) neighbourhood Italian offering flawless execution of all the classic dishes. Friendly service and reasonable prices. Great to have on your doorstep but worth a journey too. Looking forward to coming back. Nice atmosphere.

Attended for a work party dinner this weekend, i grew up in Italy so I have a high expectation of Italian restaurants in England and Numero Uno did not disappoint. Questo e il miglior cibo italiano che abbia mai mangiato in Inghilterra. Gino is a fantastic manager and host. Complimenti~!

The Northcote Road is well worth a visit at lunchtime. The problem is that there are too many alternatives so Numero Uno gets just 4 stars, simply because there are a couple of better places nearby. Overall the food is good and the place is clean and welcoming. Well worth a visit.

Ok approach you think it's fancy When seated it's all a bit tired (incl the staff) But then the food is absolutely spot on, the staff is very friendly and know what to do. Highly recommended!

Highly recommend the aubergine parmigiana! Cheesy, melt in your mouth, crispy and smooth, it is a must order every time we visit. The pasta never fails to be hearty in portion and filling. Very fresh and overall delicious Italian food.

It’s one of those restaurants where you order food by randomly sticking your finger on the menu and it would turn out awesome. Service is great. If you like small family run restaurants, this is the place to go.

We booked a table for 4 people 3 weeks before our reservation date, and we were called to ask if we wanted the booking 1 hour before as they were full, we confirmed the booking and when we arrived we were the only table there and sat directly next to the staff who were eating lunch. The manager of the restaurant served us but kept making remarks about silly things. We ignored him but found his attitude very invasive. When the main course came, I asked for Parmesan cheese and the manager told me how can I out parmesan cheese on my pasta dish, that he would not put parmesan cheese on the pasta dish I was eating, and he never even offered to the other guests who were eating pasta dishes. When I asked why there was a problem he huffed and then they changed to a lovely waitress who was so pleasant. I sent my dish back, as it was dry lacked flavour and tasted like butter and butter was not an ingredient. When I ordered the bill the manager argued with me and told me I have to pay for the dish I sent back, and that parmesan does not go with the dish. I explained to him that he is causing a scene because I asked for parmesan cheese in an Italian restaurant. I paid the full price for the sake of peace, but genuinely as someone with Italian roots, this food is not great and the service is bad. JUST FOR FUN IF YOU GO I DARE YOU TO ASK FOR EXTRA PARMESAN CHEESE.

Such a refreshing change from the usual chain restaurants in London! The moment we stepped in on a Friday evening, we were transported to Italy with its authentic ambiance and busy Italian atmosphere. The food was very good. If you're looking for an authentic Italian dining experience away from the ordinary, this restaurant is a must-visit gem in Wandsworth.

A local institution, we've been coming here for decades! Charming staff and great old fashioned, delicious Italian faire.

We were there for a late lunch and this is a beautiful little restaurant with lots of home-made options and great service. Wonderful wine selection, but we chose house wine which was very good and reasonable. Calamari fritti, veal scaloppine and branzino fish specials were delicious. We had a lovely conversation with the Manager who was very attentive and funny.

Nice evening, food have been good but not outstanding. We’ve had the osso bucco which have been nice and the truffle pasta, which have been average.

Astonishing quality of food - I was there with my two daughters who are both somewhat fussy eaters, with no complaints at all. Beautifully presented and nice staff. Definitely recommended.

Extremely overpriced for what is at best average food. My pasta was completely bland and tasteless, almost impressively so. Also male wait staff will happily push and lean into your body when serving the table, which is unnecessary and made many of us feel very uncomfortable.

This place hasn’t changed in years. It’s a very good Italian neighbourhood restaurant which primarily focuses on the traditional. Food is well-cooked, portions are plentiful and prices aren’t exorbitant. Service was attentive, courteous and efficient. It’s a nice place.

Great italian restaurant. They have a lot of different hand made pastas and nice desserts. Be aware that service charge is NOT included on the bill. During payment you can choose the tip you want to give. (This was not obvious for me so I didn't tip and didn't pay service charge either. Sorry for this, Numero Uno)

We had a table on the terrace side of the entrance - very pleasant when sunny! Service was good and staff was clued and onboard. Food we had for 4 plus 2 children was fine. I would say slightly expensive for the what you get imho. It was good but lacked a little aroma. Overall the experience was very good and wine was decently priced. Would recommend when on northcoate Rd. Try it!

I have been going to Numero Uno for over 30 years. I recently went back (August 2022) and had the same dish I always had - Mozzarella in Carrozza and the veal in mushroom and cream sauce. Sensational. It was as I remembered - perfect . Still the best Italian restaurant in my humble opinion

Numero Uno indeed! This is my new favourite Italian restaurant. Lovely hot food and great sized portions, good lighting, clean and great service; speed/efficiency and service with a smile.

If you want to be treated like your ex employer and pay £15 for below average burrata, this is your spot! In the heart of Northcote Road, this little gem serves locally bought tomatoes from the co-op further up the road. Deffo worth a visit! 😊😊

Just had an amazing lunch at Numero Uno. Service was great and they accommodated our asks to have salads with mains rather than veg. I had a rack of lamb and this was a serious rack, not just a couple of cutlets ! My friend had beautifully cooked swordfish. Just simply delicious and no problem at all. Walk past all the time and thought it looked nice so booked in to take family. Unfortunately it was a pretty underwhelming experience and I was a little embarrassed about having picked the place. The food was pretty mediocre with my seafood risotto in particular lacking taste. The service was poor and made us feel uncomfortable - my sister in law said the staff were rude to her on arrival, I asked 5 or 6 times for salt and didn’t get it until I walked into the restaurant myself to pick it out, at the end of the meal we asked for an itemised bill so we could split the cost which they refused to provide and just told us it wasn’t much money so why were we worrying. Much better Italians in close proximity

We’ve been to numero uno on numerous occasions over the past three years, as we enjoyed the food, it was in a good location and a nice place to eat with friends. Sadly our past two visits have made us all vow to never return. The staff have been unbelievably rude to us and acted like we were an inconvenience. The tables are so packed in it’s difficult to move around and obviously creates a noise issue. Last night a family of Italians kept staring at our table - we were a group having a dinner to celebrate a friends birthday and were talking and laughing but not being unreasonable (also note how close the tables are!). This family then spilt red wine over a friends brand new white shirt and coat and neither management nor the guests offered a meaningful apology or to cover dry cleaning etc. We were obviously annoyed as any of us would have instantly apologised and tried to offer some way of helping. The management then got quite aggressive with us while speaking in Italian with the other table. The other guests made comments about us having had three bottle of wine (between five guests over three courses!!!), the quality of the clothes (it may not be Gucci but the shirt did cost over £100) and even said ‘typical British people’ (even though we were not all British…). We regularly dine out together and have had no issues at all? Management egged them on somewhat or at least offered no help. We had a similar poor and disrespectful last time we visited and have decided to end our trips there. The food is alright but there are plenty of lovely Italian restaurants in the area where we feel valued as patrons. Super disappointing.

Service was slow and the food mediocre.

Our recent dinner here was disappointing. We arrived when the restaurant was not very busy, and nonetheless, service was disjointed. They never brought us the water we asked for, and we waited more than an hour for three plates of pasta. When the food arrived, it was fine but hardly extraordinary and didn't feel worth the long wait. There was no explanation or apology for the wait, so maybe this is the standard at this restaurant. Even though it's very close to our house, we are unlikely to return.

A pretty traditional Italian restaurant with friendly service and excellent food. This is definitely my go to Italian restaurant in London. Prices are reasonable especially given it’s location on trendy Northcote Road.

Sunday lunch browsing the area around the antique market. Delightful service with plenty of humor and sincere attention...sautéed calamari was pleasant, the Tuna carpachio was delightful, for mains we had the calf's liver was told very good, l had the veal and it was perfect, it was accompanied by the usual selection of vegetables - sautéed potatoes; tempura vegetables and a mixture of French beans and carrots. It was generous enough, with good wine and pleasant service
