Number 92 in Braintree

This is the best cocktail bar EVER, the cocktails are the best I have ever tasted, the staff are lovely and welcoming each time we go. This is my favourite place …a proper little gem ❤️❤️

I hate ‘cocktail’ bars that serve up pre-mixed, bottled, canned cocktails that resemble the original like ‘no-way’. A while back, for my birthday (an old birthday), we popped in and had a couple, OK three, and the rest I remember zilch. So, for a lunch, we popped in again. Impressive does not cover the service we received. Cocktails made, by hand, to order and perfect. I requested a vodka martini and just mentioned, any chance of a Vesper???? No problem, Two vodka and one gin or vice versa? Served in a great glass with olives and that special twist of lemon zest. Needless to say, a second was ordered. My partners two Pina Coladas were the best, she states, she has ever had. We ‘soaked’ this up with a platter of delicious local cheeses, salamis, dried cures ham and chutneys etc etc. A wonderful lunch time treat. A wonderful new bar in this old town. A boost to Braintree and we will be back. Nice as a break from the ‘pub’. Quick, thank you to you guys for giving us oldies and pleasant lunch. You two were great.

We wanted a light lunch and were drawn to Number 92 by the awards sticker in the window. We enjoyed a mixed sharing plate with a good selection of local ingredients, with an alcohol free lager (I was driving) and a mocktail for my wife, which she said was very good. It was great to see them promoting so many local products including spirits and a good range of English wines. Friendly staff too, who were knowledgeable. Top marks.

Absolutely lovely! Cocktails were great as usual, we especially like the martinis here! And the excellent service turned our evening in a perfect night out. I took my mom for the first time and she literally said ‘I don’t do martini’s…’ but ended the night with not one but two Pornstar Martini’s! My dad had enough to choose from as well because the menu is huge with options for everyone!

I have now been to bar number 92 three times and it just keeps getting better! I attended this time for a friend's birthday on Saturday night, we were originally a table four but then had three last minute friends join us. We were given the VIP treatment and moved to the secret basement, where we had our own private bar and barman! :-) The service is great, friendly and professional. I can’t believe I’d not been here before, but it was last minute small birthday celebration for my Mum. We lost my Dad this year and she wasn’t looking forward to her birthday. The staff looked after us so well. We had a perfect evening here and can’t recommend it enough. The cocktails were quite simply perfect as was the food. This a very special little bar and definitely worth a visit.

Darcy was an absolute gem and so lovely, helped us the whole night. It was super busy but she kept checking in the whole night. Cocktails were amazing love the raspberry rum the most. We hired the Cocktail Club venue downstairs for a friend’s birthday. The staff are incredible, so friendly and welcoming. The cocktails are amazing, so much better than anywhere else! We had our own playlist, decorations and birthday cake. It honestly could not have been better, our favourite place to go.

Recently hired The Essex Cocktail Club area downstairs for the night to celebrate my birthday. What an absolutely fantastic evening. The cocktails are delicious and everyone who joined us thought so. We got a dedicated bartender downstairs called Phoebe who was super friendly and polite and was super skilled with the drinks. This place is an absolute treasure, you must visit!

We went here Saturday evening as a group of 10 after a meal out. We had the downstairs cocktail club to ourselves with our barman. Had some lush cocktails and even a bespoke one for my friend who just said a few things she liked. Great fun and good vibe

We’ve been here quite a few times now and every time it has been fantastic. The drinks are amazing, look brilliant and out this world and they taste so different compared to your basic cocktails. The owner and staff are lovely and make you feel comfortable when you visit. I just wish I had more money to try every drink 😂. Will 100% be visiting again x

Visited yesterday as we were going for coffee but coffee shop was closed, passed Number 92 so went in. The guys serving and making drinks were so welcoming and friendly. We were both driving so had latte and mint tea both very good but next time Cocktails, omg we were so envious, every cocktail looked amazing. We visited after going for dinner and couldn’t be more impressed. After being greeted with a very warm welcome we settled into the lovely atmosphere and were served up 2 fantastic cocktails. Only disappointment was that we were able to stay longer. We’ll most definitely be back.

We had our work Christmas party at Bar 92 yesterday - canapés fabulous, festive fizz and mulled cider also much appreciated. We had a wreath making session and were all amazed by the results. Thanks to Matt and his team for making us so welcome. Looking forward to our next visit!

Number 92 has fast become our favourite bar since opening and was a much needed addition to Braintree! Matt has a real passion for his bar and Braintree and regularly supports other independent business. Personally we love to support local independent business, it is extra special here as Matt is really trying to create a better Braintree! Last night we thought we’d try the cocktail event with Tiptree and we were glad we did. We got to try lots of different Tiptree spirits and a few cocktails made by Matt. My favourite Clover Club was on the menu and as always didn’t disappoint! Over our various visits we’ve tried many of the cocktails and locally produced wines Ali g with the incredible meat and cheese boards. If you fancy something different and quirky this is the place to try, you will not be disappointed! This is definitely our favourite bar in Braintree, see you again soon!

Matt helped me host a fantastic celebration at Number 92. Fantastic communication from the beginning and created a perfect afternoon which included fantastic food (from the standard menu), amazing cocktails and a great cocktail making session. Would highly recommend Number 92.
