I remember dem days in summerhouse when man couldn’t eat, the mandem would make man starve till I made their dough. The only bread I knew was the ones dushane and sully used to send me to make for them back in them days. It was from this very cafe it all happened, luckily aunty in the till would sneak man some quick breakfast in the back, still gets me emotional to this day. Aunty a real one u know. That’s why I have a soft spot for them, it made me the honourable GM I am today.

I went to this wonderful cafe influenced by top boy. It was a morning time and I had an amazing traditional breakfast.(forgot to take a toast photo.) This cafe is not located in a tourist spot which I think is good for tourists who is tired of being around with a lot of people in London. I believe you can have a Londoner’s local atmosphere in here. The food was so nice and people were so nice especially an owner! I would recommend to anyone who wants to try a traditional local breakfast in UK.

Must-go for fans of the Top Boy series. Every day people come especially because of the series. Very friendly staff who will have a chat with you; Family owned! Really delicious breakfast, go for the Top Boy Special with coffee for 15.90, but they have many more.

Nice staff, delicious breakfast, great ambience. Everything was freshly prepared. We didn't have to wait long. Number 1 Cafe is also known from the Netflix series “Top Boy”. The next time Werder Bremen plays in London, we'll come back.

As the names suggests.. This cafe is great. Great food, good prices, but most worth mentioning is the friendly staff. Always a really good atmosphere. Love coming here regularly!

Whether you’re looking for a great spot to enjoy a meal, relax with a tea or coffee, or simply hang out with friends, Number One Cafe is the place to be. Good only fashioned cafe in the east end.

This cafe only gets this one star because of “Top Boy”. We came there to just feel the atmosphere of that series. We wanted to order some tea and sit in there for a while, while it was raining. But we got very unfriendly told that we also have to order food and cannot only get some tea. Of course we were surprised because nothing was mentioned on the outside of the cafe. It would be reasonable if the cafe was full and they would have a lot of work to do, but the only one sitting in there were two people and the cafe seemed empty. With that high prices we also didn’t want to eat food that really did not look good. And just like that we walked out, sad and disappointed of the cafe I wanted to visit a long time. To make thinks worse the man at the counter loudly makes fun of the three teenagers that just wanted to have some tea at the cafe of their favorite series.

The food is delicious all is good, and they are good people

I visited for the first time yesterday. I ordered a hamburger, and the service I received was terrible. The patty was extremely greasy, and the taste was honestly awful. The caramelized onions looked like a disaster from the future. When I mentioned that both the service and the hamburger were bad, I got a completely unexpected response – they raised their voices in a rude and disrespectful manner. How can just one hamburger, without a meal, cost £6.90? On top of that, with such terrible service and taste, I strongly believe the local authorities should inspect this place to check if it meets health standards.👎👎👎👎

Do you like Top Boy? Then a visit to this café, which served as the original filming location, is a must during your stay in London. The Turkish owner is very nice. Please don't expect too much from the menu. But a delicious coffee is always possible.

I don't normally write reviews but I feel obligated this time. That was my first and last visit there. Absolutely horrible experience. I walked in with my husband after hearing it's a great place. They had amazing menu with great pictures representing the breakfast options. We got charged £31 for two English breakfast with coffee. We hoped for it to look just like on a picture but oh my we were wrong. We literally got a spit on a plate. Two eggs, 1/5 of a tomato, two sliced turkey bacon small portion of mushrooms and beans. It was all tasteless. Coffe tasted burned and old. When we confronted them about the order the lady raised her voice claiming she explained of what was included and said that its as much because we got a toast with it. In the end they agreed to get us 2 extra sausages and 2 extra turkey bacon. Even if they did, they only brought the bacon. Never coming back again.

Lovely cafe, friendly staff, delicious coffee. Didn’t have time to have breakfast but it looked great. Had carrot cake (looks like the Costco one) to take away to meet the minimum spend in order to pay on card. Will definitely be back.

I live in the neighborhood and pop by for breakfasts once in a while, but I really felt the need to leave this review for the lady who works there. There were a couple of mix ups from their end for food and then another mix up having outdated pricing on the wall and another mix up over charging me by mistake. I went back to clarify just because I did not want to feel cheated even if the amount is very small, because it is about transparency. The guy at the store was extremely polite and apologetic and kind throughout my time there but the lady was absolutely horrible and was rolling her eyes and complaining and looking down on me for caring about the extra money and was almost screaming when the guy offered to give me my money back. I am assuming she owns the place, because there is no other way an owner lets a lady like that work there, because I can see many other comments about this specific person. Anyway, I won't be going back ever again and I hope someone puts her in her place because you don't speak to people like that.

Great place discovered thanks to the Netflix series Top Boy. Very good brunch, and the welcome is super friendly. It’s an address that I recommend to those who want to discover London differently than on the beaten track.👍

This morning me and my daughter came to the number one cafe in Wall Street hackney I was not very happy with the price. The owner charged me £13 just for 2 sausage, 2 hash brown, 1 egg, bake bean, fried chips, 1 bottle of water, 1 packet of crisps. The fried chip s was very bad.

We went to visit London and as Top Boy fans we decided to come here. We were welcomed by a delightful woman, very nice and warm. She offered the top boy breakfast and we got two full breakfasts and one set2. The food was ready under five mins and was delicious. The owner and the cooker both came to the table to see if we were well seated and if we liked it. The price was affordable, about £50 for five people and a piece of carrot cake to go. Everything was perfect, would recommend 100% !

Sunday 7th April So I went here for the first time after a bit of shopping, and it will be the last time, too. Number 1 cafe, I think NOT. yeh, the people were welcoming, which is nice, but so overpriced, and she definitely overcharged me £27.60 for 2 slices of toast with scrambled egg on top, yeh its just scrambled egg, nothing special. A ham and cheese omelette with nothing on the side, It was just an omelette, a jacket potato with tuna on top. 2 apple juices and a coffee. £27.60 I think it was a rip-off. Won't be going there again. I'll definitely save my money next time and go where the food quality is at its best. - POPLAR CAFE. Number 1 cafe surely isn't number 1 for me. I've even looked at the menu and added it all up for myself and she definitely overcharged me.

Went to the cafe with mrs this afternoon ordered a set 3 plus the mrs ordered a burger and chips and we absolutely loved it and the customers service

Dirtiest place I ever walked into, food was a joke as was the lady behind the counter. She touched EVERYTHING with hands (no gloves ofc) and when I asked for a take away cups for my drink as the mugs were filthy she screamed at me and laughed, how professional right? Don’t fall in the Top boy trap guys, this place doesn’t respect basic hygiene standards and the service is embarrassing.

I came in today at around 2.15pm pregnant may i add and asked ever so nicely to the lady behind the counter if I could use the toilet as I was literally on the erg of pissing myself. Well the lady was not very lady like as she screamed at me that I have to buy something and asked why didn't u go to the shops I bought from to use the toilet. I had to explain to her that my shopping was from 9.30am this morning and I did tell her that I was was very embarrassed and that I found it extremely rude to shout at me infont of customers well the only thing I got was hurried out the door and told to go away like I was an animal.

I visited as a Top Boy fan. The owner is delightful and the food of good quality and price. I cannot recommend this place enough. Great service and wonderful atmosphere.

I was very excited to visit this cafe being famous for Top Boy and as I’m a big fan of the series, I wanted to make effort to visit this greasy spoon and have a proper fry up :). The owner was very friendly and welcoming, making sure I was good and enjoying my top boy Breakfast which I did indeed however to my surprise when the bill came, I was charged 20£ for this fry up as you can see from the picture. I have the feeling I was ripped off and the price was made up on the spot. At the time, I didn’t question anything about the pricing as I felt a little embarrassed but I realised I should have questioned the price of the Top Boy breakfast when it was offered to me. Beware there is no pricing on the menu for the special Top Boy try up. I would love to come back again to this cafe but I feel disappointed that I was charged way too much and therefore not return again unless a solution is offered. :(

The food was awful, the waitress was rude and the heaters were off, if you want to go to “Top Boy’s Cafe” go on, but definitely do not come to have lunch

To be honest, I visited it since I am a fan of the Top Boy series but I was delighted with the treatment. The owner is super friendly and attentive. The breakfasts are good and complete as well as being very reasonably priced.

Very cool place, feels like home, the owners are so friendly and welcoming. We went there because of "Top Boy" and it was a great experience!

I met there with a friend called Sully. The food was nice and tasty. Had a small fight there as well but it was cool.

The service was okay, friendly atmosphere. However, the quality of food was disappointing. I ordered jacket potato and it was cold inside, the beans were the only thing keeping it warm/hot. I ordered salad with no onions in it as the smell of them make me feel sick, and there were onions in there, making me put off from the start unfortunately. My partner ordered a set 2 with chips and said it was below average, but did enjoy his cup of tea. Unfortunately, won’t be coming back here, but staff are nice.

Came away with my mother and visited the number one cafe on the first day in London being a top boy fan :) and then went the next day with my mum and sister, the owner was so kind and very welcoming and friendly also very chatty which we love being northerners great hospitality and great food for the price , we will definitely be visiting again, when we come to London in Easter time 😁

Simply best food and the service is second to none. If you have a taste for Arabic/Turkish coffee or Shisha this is the place, look no further.

A fine dining establishment with great service. The greasiest of all the greasy spoons. My only minor gripe is that two men sat on the table next to me, whom I can only describe as “roadmen” were having a loud, heated argument… from what I overheard it seemed to be about peas and food… given they were in a cafe with plenty of food available (peas being a highlight on the menu) I fail to see what all the fuss was about. Quite intimidating for a wholesome young man such as myself. Trying my best to step back from the road but if I get pulled back in I’ll definitely return. 5* (Genuinely good caf and the lady behind the counter was very kind.)

We came to visit the cafe from Sydney Australia. The owners greeted us and they were very lovely. Food was delicious, however we came to take photos due to it being in top boy- a current Netflix series.

Really nice, cheap and cheerful cafe. Came here as I’m a top boy fan, but regardless of it being a top boy location, the prices are very reasonable and the food quality is great! The staff are lovely are there is a great atmosphere. Definitely recommend! ❤️

I went for some food and I saw two men with buzz cuts talking and they were about to scrap they were talking about peas or something I think they like vegetables and they were really hungry as one said you lost my food

Super endroit, on a pu manger un breakfast à la place de Dushane un vrai plaisir. Le personnel est accueillant et super sympa. Petit plus, la photo de Dushane signée au mur.

I have eaten at the place many times. I popped in today with a top boy fan to take a photo. I did ask permission. The owner was friendly, but rightly pointed out that i was not a paying customer, she was a little annoyed, but allowed us to take photos.

Don't get me wrong, its an amazing old tradition cafe!! But i think its time for it to get modernized please. Me and two friends went and we was fighting to all sit at the table and eat, the tables was too small. The potion sizes was great also but such friendly staff and good community atmosphere but definitely needs a revamp please

10/10 really good service, cheap and great food. some afro-american guy who called himself Dushane demanded me to give him food (which I did, was scared), he then threw it on the floor and said to stop joking, then i left out of fear. the food was great

As a fan of the Top Boy series, I absolutely wanted to go to this mythical restaurant, first I was super happy to be there sitting on the seats of popular characters such as Dushane or Sully. But what surprised me the most was really the food which was very good and above all of high quality. The service is fast and above all warm, you feel good and you enjoy the moment, especially since the food is halal. The English breakfast was great I recommend this place and thank you again to the staff who are very smiling and warm.

Bias from Top Boy aside, this place is great. They always treat the customers really kindly and are always smiling as well as cooking great food. If I'm ever in the mood for a full English, this is definitely the place to go

People nice. But tasty gaffs are not to far down the road. They're inflexible to change set menu and should do better. Not the place I'd take someone for a treat.

First time I've had a sausage sandwich with hardly any filling. Just small slithers of sausage. Rather pay more money and have a proper sandwich. Clearly trying to maximise profit.

Came here one morning for a full English breakfast. I was given one of the best service from this family run establishment. The owner even introduce me to a gentleman call Dushane. Now me and him have a great business relationship where we both making millions each year
