We had a mishap where some bottles of wine broke and the staff working called Gok was very kind and helped us right away with replacing them. Great food, great service. Ice cream after was great.

One point is for the mini knife you get at the end. The steak was cold when it was served and the side dishes didn't taste good either. Fresh meat tastes different. The service, however, was very friendly.

Me and my partner went for our 3 year anniversary because we love steak. We had a wonderful time and food was perfect! Our server Denzel was very kind and gave us spectacular service, even going above and beyond to surprise us with a special desert for our occasion! It made our night that much more special.

The service was immaculate! I din’t have anything bad to say about the amazing restaurant. The Wagyu steak as well as the flat iron steak was flawless and extremely delicious. The sides are just perfect. The drinks were out of this world. But i can’t say often enough how great the staff was. Everyone made you feel so comfortable, welcome and seen. It felt like coming over to a friends house. At the end they give you a small cleaver that you can exchange for a free soft serve on your way out. 100/10! Go there immediately when you’re in Shoreditch!!!

Meat craving, 25 minute wait, no big deal, but the big deal was the meal. Had the wagyu onglet for a few bucks more, tallow mashed potatoes with crispy bits and the kind of perfectly creamed spinach Peter Luger's could learn from. Chose the peppercorn sauce for drizzling and dunking. Whoa. Was not expecting a budding franchise to even deliver, much less OVER-deliver! the set up I chose was perfectly portioned, don't feel the need to get the ol cholesterol test or guilty today. Even the complimentary ice cream cone of soft-serve flecked with Flake the tiny cleaver during check presentation is for, only gilded the beefy lily. The US could use a lively meat-centric joint like this and I know a perfect place in Red Hook, Brooklyn to open the first one. . .! 🤘🏻👵🏻🤘🏻 (BTW, I don't take my phone out at mealtimes because it's obnoxious, so no pix.)

Visited without booking with son. What a great experience on a Monday night. Really busy, seated on long table with other guests. Good fantastic, flat iron steak with ruffle Mac and cheese. The best. Also the best old fashioned I think I have ver had. Great service, from Joel. Friendly and enthusiastic. Will definitely visit again.

Lovely restaurant, Great steak cooked perfectly, lovely chips. Highly recommend the truffle Mac n cheese. A bit packed in and staff a little slow to take orders but it was fully booked.

Brilliant. The food was impeccable from the sides to the main steak. Tried 2 different ones and I couldn’t stop. The service was the best I’ve received in any restaurant I’ve been in, I have to shout out Denzel and Camilla as they were my servers who were friendly, funny and made sure we were well looked after on our anniversary. Definitely worth the money and everyone has to try this place.

Review for Flat Iron Shoreditch – 5th December 2024 I visited the Flat Iron Shoreditch branch for the first time on Thursday, 5th December, and it truly exceeded my expectations! From start to finish, everything was impeccable. The service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a relaxed meal. A special shout-out to Denzel, who was our server. He was not only professional but also incredibly friendly and went out of his way to ensure we had an exceptional experience. He even helped us choose the best drinks to complement our meal, which were 10/10! As someone who isn’t typically a big fan of steak, I was absolutely blown away. With every bite, I found myself saying, “Wow, this is really good!” I think Flat Iron might have just converted me into a steak lover. 😄 Thank you so much, Flat Iron Shoreditch. We’ll definitely be back!

OK food. It was overpriced, of course, but that is standard in London restaurants. No starter or proper desert options. You get the option of a 'free' ice cream cone on exit - not very appealing in December when the outside temperature is in single figures. Service was good. Very noisy restaurant due to the industrial design and load music; you end up having shouting your conversations. I wouldn't rush back.

I had an amazing experience at Flat Iron in Shoreditch! The food was outstanding, wagyu steak very rare (just like I like it) with delicious mushroom sauce and sides. Had dinner here with a friend. We sat at a sharing table. My steak was cooked perfect. Sides were good. In all the food is good value for money. What I was most impressed with was the friendly, quality service. Refreshing! Loved the (complimentary) ice cream cone to go. A nice touch even if it was very cold outside :)

My first time going to an expensive restaurant and it just made me appreciate cheap food so much more. The portions were tiny and the food was just over-seasoned, gentrified, glorified, cheap pub food. The steak was the only decent part and still it wasn’t that great. From the previous review photos you can see how much smaller the size of the steak has gotten over the years yet the more expensive too. The mac n’ cheese is genuinely one of the worst things I have tasted, all you can taste is bitter garlic and nothing else. It was so bad that we thought there was something wrong with it and got it replaced. Similar thing with the mash where it just tastes like you’re eating crunchy oil. It was my birthday and I was so disappointed as it cost so much and my dad just wanted to bring me out to somewhere fancy for the first time as someone who is low income. They also add a service charge to the bill without mentioning that it’s optional or asking in the first place, almost hoping as if we won’t notice so we pay it. Quite presumptive to think that everyone that goes to this restaurant can afford to tip that much. Not to mention it is 20% of the bill and I very much doubt it contributes as tips to the waiter’s pockets and is just more income for the greedy CEOs of this big chain. This is a super uncommon thing in the UK and felt so cheeky. Maybe improve the employee’s hourly rate considering the amount of profit you make from £8 worth of groceries (excluding drinks in comparison to the £100 cost of the food) Ultimately, a kind waiter removed this from the bill as well as the mac and cheese dishes which we were very appreciative of but was quite humiliating and stressful having to address. We had a lovely and kind waitress that seemed slightly sad but most other workers we encountered just came across depressed- just trying to make ends meet for rent prices in London. I only wish that they’re doing well. Such a huge regret going here, we could’ve saved a lot of money from below mediocrity. It’s definitely discouraged me from trying other places in London. The ice cream was nice but quite a weird dessert in the -1° winter and you have to eat it outside mandatorily as you’re leaving the restaurant... £130 down the drain for 4 tiny 100g steaks with salt, wet spinach, Burger King chips (which weren’t even beef tasting or dripping? as well as the popcorn that claims to be) anti-mac n’ cheese vandalised with garlic, and oil-ridden mash. Over-garnishing does not equate to quality or price. Harsh but true. We won’t be returning here again. Extra note: This is not a dig at the waiters and is targeted towards the corporation owners and their deceiving business model.

Quality Service By Denzel, Went Above & Beyond And Made Our Flat Iron Experience Second To None! :)

The level of attentiveness in the service was exceptional, to the point where if you accidentally drop a napkin, a server will appear instantaneously and provide you a new napkin! The food was also outstanding, particularly when considering the very reasonable prices. Lastly, even though their weekend night reservation slots were all gone, we decided to try to walk in anyway, and they were able to accommodate us without any fanfare. Five stars all around!

Best steakhouse i have ever tried. Delicious, simple and flavorful. Mash potatoes with beef marrow are to die for. Popcorn as snack while waiting is a nice touch.

I've always loved Flat Iron. This time was no different in terms of the the food. HOWEVER... We were served by Jonathan and I swear this guy is my new Portuguese hero! Our son (3) is pretty shy yet he engaged with Jonathan. So much so that he even wanted to say bye to the poor waiter. Honestly, he left no stone unturned when it came to service and I could only say that this guy is a wonderful asset to the business. Amazing service, Amazing food and an amazing experience AS ALWAYS. Booked for a family lunch to celebrate our Son's 21st birthday. We had never been before but will certainly be returning. The food and drink were excellent and the staff, especially Jonathan & Denzel were amazing. They made our Son's day even more special and are a fantastic credit to the Flat Iron company. Thank you! Steak doesn't have to be expensive! I was really excited about the Flat Iron and its concept. We were greeted with salty popcorn as a snack before we were able to take a look at the menu. At around 14 pounds, a flat iron steak is really affordable, with side dishes available between just under 4 and 5 pounds. Side dishes such as steak tasted very good, the steak was also fried to the perfect point as requested. I also really liked the ambience, which impresses with the lots of wooden interior. The service was also very friendly, courteous and quick. Funny detail is that the steak knife is shaped like a meat cleaver :) After you've eaten your fill, you get free ice cream to go with you, which is a nice gesture from the restaurant. All in all, good food, a lovely stay and highly recommended!

Generally very impressed with this chain. Very average this evening. Luke warm creamed spinach, chips with bad bits of potatoes in, wagu steak delicious and service was abysmal.

Great atmosphere and service by Denzel, on a Monday, super tasty steak and sides, (creamed spinach and the truffle Mac and cheese are an absolute must). Topped off with ice cream to go. accommodated 3 of us (not booked) +3 joining about an hour later, forgot my bag and Denzel had me covered an hour later when I backtracked.

I visited Flat Iron Shoreditch today and was immediately met at the door and shown to a table. Shortly after, our incredible and funny waiter DENZEL went through the menu and took our order - always making sure we had enough popcorn. Then our perfectly cooked flat iron steaks arrived at the table and I have to say tasted incredible. After our meal we gladly accepted our ice cream, which rounded off what was a great lunch for a good price. Thanks again Denzel for the great service

Not much choice on the menu, and they serve mainly a flat iron steak. But what a flat iron it is!

Booked and arrived 17 minutes late. No number to call so hey gave table away. Waited for about 40minites till we got sat down. The steaks were very nice and the cream spinach lovely.
