As a fan of Brixton market, Bukowski stands out as a great little burger joint. I am writing this review, however, to rave about the mango sorbet and tequila drink! It was the perfect size for a delectable cocktail, and tasted sweet without being overbearing or artificial tasting. One of the best drinks I've ever had - hands down. If you aren't in the mood for a burger, stop at Bukowski just to try it!

I really like the atmosphere in Brixton Market/Brixton Village - it's getting more gentrified all the time but still retains some of its old charm (if that is the right word!). Bukowski fits the overall grungy feel of the place with great quality ribs and burgers. The ribs are my favourite - they do a tasty dry rub and wet sauce and serve it with some hot pickles. The coleslaw is a good accompaniment and chips too if you can fit them in. Ribs come in half and full rack sizes. Washed down with some meantime lager or Yakima red beer and it keeps me full for the day. Nice staff too.

Situated in the box park amongst so many other pop up eateries Bukowski is one of the best. The homemade ketchup is sooooo good - and I hate regular ketchup. The homemade salsa, the homemade mustard and the Mayo are also to die for. The burger does not fall apart when attempting to eat it. The beef patty tastes freshly ground, proper mince with no gristle. The burger is not greasy, tastes 'clean' and doesn't leave you stodged unlike many other burgers. The chips are delicious. The homemade lemonade was incredibly refreshing, with the perfect balance of tartness and sweetness. Bukowski burgers I'll be back for more. The chilli chips sound divine!

I went here because I saw it advertised as a vegan friendly option on the Boxpark website. The standard brioche rolls aren't vegan so they happily swapped it for slices of sourdough bread. However, the chips are not vegetarian because they're cooked in animal fat, so you can't have a complete meal here if you're vegetarian. The burger itself was tasty but as with everything in Shoreditch, it was very overpriced for a self-service restaurant where you sit on a park bench outside in the rain to eat.

I fell in love with Bukowski's burgers from the moment I bit into my first ever burger there. I go back on a monthly basis and the waiter there now knows my order of by heart! The 'Obese Gringo' is a dream come true to me and is cooked to perfection every single time. I haven't even got to the chips yet, which are without a doubt the most flavorful, juicy, fresh and delicious chips I have ever had. Since being to bukowski I have tried countless other burgers in London and although some are excellent, none come close to the bukowski experience. You have to try it.

As burgers go they don't get much better than this. A real meaty burger. The burger was slightly pink in the middle which in my opinion shows two things: 1. The chef knows how to cook a burger 2. The meat was top quality. The relish and other fillings in it added up to make it a fantastic experience. The chips were also good and i would definitely go back again next time i'm in the mood for a burger.

I've been meaning to check out Bukowski for a long time, and a chance finally presented itself after trying to go to the Hawksmoor Spitalfields bar, and being told there was a 2 hour wait. We went up to the Box Park, and got a table immediately (the place was empty as most people were dining out on the deck - we chose to eat inside though to keep away from the smokers).Service was friendly and efficient. The burgers were excellent, as good as I have had in London - and we didn't get the queues all often associated (i.e. Honest Burgers, Meat Liquor, Patty and Bun). The triple cooked chips and homemade ketchup were outstanding as well. I can also recommend there homemade lemonade. Looking forward to the next visit!

We popped into Box Park on a whim and really enjoyed wandering through the pop up shops full of independent vendors. Bukowski caught our eye as a lunch option and how lucky we were that it did. Although there was only a single option for the vegetarian burger I'm assured by my daughter that it was excellent. The beef patty burgers were really good too, cooked to perfection, and served with a range of home made condiments. The crowning glory though were the chips cooked in beef dripping. Light, crisp and dry on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, they were truly delicious, with absolutely no hint of grease. If you've never had them cooked this way you have missed a treat. It has been many years since I had chips cooked in dripping, it will not be long before I'm back at Bukowski to have them again :)

The chutney was a good accompaniment and the chips were really crispy outside, fluffy inside and delicious. With a homemade lemonade it cost us £11 each which was good value.

Been here loads, and loved the burgers - some of the best I've had. Went today and something was lacking. For one you used to be served chips in a cup, now they come on your plate. There are clearly less and they are larger. They used to be crisper on the outside and taste strongly of beef drippings. There wasn't as much flavour this time, and they are larger and softer - not as good. The burger was tasty but was softer and less satisfying than the many times previously. Service was great, but it feels like the food has taken a backwards step. I hope it improves again.

Staying near the City of London slightly limits your choice of eateries, especially when staying on your own for business. I had a real desire for a decent burger but was too tired to take a trip into Central London to some of the more highly reviewed joints. So instead, I looked for some local reviews and thought I'd give this Bukowski a go.The venue was tucked away in the Box Park complex, seating space was limited but I was relatively early and able to grab a table. I went for their standard burger with blue cheese and pickles and it was delicious! The chips were great and a bottle of Leviation Beer would have justified the meal on it's own. My only complaint was that I didn't find about this place sooner during my trip as I'd definitely have paid it a second visit! Even writing this review is making me hungry... It's not often I'd give top marks across the board, but this place deserves it.

Ate out at the new Brixton Village Bukowski restaurant last night. We did endure about a 45 minute wait for a table but were served cold beers in the queue which made the waiting time disappear quickly. Should mention that very soon after we were seated the line disappeared. Chips were amazing, best I have tasted in while. I ordered a chipotle steak sandwich but was a little disappointed I hadn't gone for a buger or ribs as the others on our table did. All tasted incredible. Service was prompt and astute. Bill came to about £20 per head - inclusive of main, side and 2 drinks each. We had plenty of space on our table, weren't rushed and the added bonus was having toilets upstairs - as many places in the village don't. Highly recommend.

Four of us popped by on Sunday afternoon out of the snow, a queue was outside so I left my mobile number and they called me about 30 minutes later - great service. Its a long narrow seating area (see my pics below) built inside a steel shipping container, with the two chefs working away at the end in the smallest kitchen in the world! They also have outside benches for warmer days. The 'Purist Burger' at £5.50 was made from Hereford Steer I'm told and truly meaty and tasty it was! One of our group added the Double Gloucester cheese, another Smoked Streaky Bacon, we also added a couple of portions of chunky beef-dripping organic chips, and I had the burger-of-the-month which was superb. Washed down with a cold beer, I was in heaven.Next time I go I intend to try the Iberico Burger (with slices of the famed Spanish Iberico air-dried ham) or the Hanger Steak which is marinated in beer (see it being sliced by the chef in my pics). The service is just great and the atmosphere warm and welcoming! I read a review in the local paper about Bukowski and went to try it out with my gf. The place is tiny, only seats around 14-16 people, so you most likely will have to queue in the evening. However it is worth the wait! The burgers are so juicy and tasty. You can ask how you want it, medium rare is the rarest option. I went for the Mother F which is two burgers and was the most expensive option at £9.80. It was a high stack but somehow I managed it. My gf had the iberico burger which was also very good. The fries are trip-fried in beef dripping and are so crispy. I've never tasted anything like it before. Also their home-made ketchup is really good. It has an edge to it and is really good. It's well-worth a trip to the East-end of London and it's reasonable too. Two can dine for burger, fries and drink for under £20. Just be aware that they close around 8pm most days and the only late night is Thursday.
