Popped in for a light lunch while out shopping and I must say I barely left any crumbs on my plate. Staff were considerate of my needs providing decaf tea and I would like to go again

I do not know if the other reviews are of the same cafe or not....... All I can say is that our experience was not good. My sausage roll was heated in a microwave (so very soggy pastry) and the scone was nothing to write home about either. No soup or sandwiches on the menu?! Will we got back? - Unlikely!

It was like walking back to the sixties. The whole experience was like going back to the sixties. If you enjoyed the variation of school dinners then this is it. Very uninspiring, cold and about as appealing as food from a school dinner trolley!!! AWFUL.

There was no queue and the staff were very pleasant. Lovely pastries. Unfortunately it was too early for lunch as I wanted to look round the Castle/Museum and the Cathedral. There was a small eating area near the counter but a lot of tables and chairs in the larger and more open area that you walk through to get to the cafe. There was so much space that there was no pressure to move on so I took my time, giving me a chance to rest before continuing with my sightseeing.

I don't normally write reviews of attraction cafes because most are ordinary and expensive. Not this one. Located just inside the castle entrance in a modern light area it was uncrowded and a relaxing place for lunch. Coffee is £2.60 a cup - OK - normal price. But a big slice of quiche and salad was just £5.50 - and the quiche was homemade and delicious. In fact there were four types of quiche too. And that''s not all. there was a wide range of good food - and all at low prices. You can use the cafe without paying to enter the museum. Do you know what? It should be everybody's chosen place to eat lunch in Norwich. Get there quick before everybody reads this review!

Fancied going somewhere different before I went to the matinee at the Theatre so popped in here as I love love the castle. It is small for what it is but really cute. The tea is served in china cups and it felt so twee. The jacket potatoes were really very nice as was the hot choc. Will be back.

I had the sausage roll, white chocolate millionaire shortbread and a bottle of cocacola. Simple enough food, but it can be done wrong. Not here though. The sausage roll was really nice. Far better than you can get out of a bakery on the high street. The shortbread was different, being white chocolate. But i liked it. I'd try it again from here. The food was reasonably well priced for what it is too. It is just a basic cafe. It sells good food (sandwiches, cakes, drinks) at good prices, has some seating in the cafe and more out in the castle rotunda. It does exactly what you would hope for it to do after spending a few hours wandering around the exhibits, or coming into the cafe to get out of a cold rainy day.

Located in the castle (opening times 10:00-16:30, but 13:00-16:30 Sunday) means this restaurant is good for lunch if you are visiting on Saturday or a weekday. It is self-service and there is a range of home cooked food of which the recommendation is quiche. I was offered a choice of 5. The bottled beer stocked is Woodforde's Nelson's Revenge which I found excelent.

Stopped for a coffee on our way around the City. The food was appetisingly displayed and looked to be homemade. If we hadn't booked at a different venue we would happily have settled for this cuisine. Gluten and dairy free vegetable soup, jacket potatoes, even rather yummy looking gluten and dairy free cake! The decaffeinated coffee with soya milk was good, hot and strong. The disabled ♿ loo was large and clean and wheelchair ♿ access to the Castle via the slope was straightforward. A good clean eatery.

We stop here for a light lunch in the midst of a visit to the castle and museum. The venue is light and bright, and there is a fair range of eats and drinks on offer. It is a typical cafeteria, with trays pushed along in queue, but the staff are friendly and helpful. Our tomato soup is hot and plentiful and comes a with a roll. Staff keep the used tables clear. The main plus for this café is that it is by handy: it is quite a hike back to Castle Mall. Toilets are close by. A good stopping place.

Brilliant day out at Norwich Castle as always but this review is about the lunch we had.Home made soup for two and "help yourself" to as much artisan bread as you like. 1 homemade bacon quiche with salad, 1 vegetable quiche with salad, 1 child's lunch box - pick 5 items of your choice - a slice of chocolate cake, a hunk of millionaire shortbread and assorted drinks for £28.80. Sounds expensive doesn't it? It was worth every single penny! The soup was perfect, tomato and vegetable, hot, hearty and generous portions. The bread was delicious. The quiches were at least an inch thick and a proper slice of sheer delight, the salad crisp and fresh with coleslaw and a fantastic beetroot salad too. Kids lunch box pick of rolls made with proper ham made a real change from insipid white sliced bread filled with the plastic ham you usually find in kids boxes. The cheese rolls looked just as good too. The fruit options were huge bananas and good sized fresh looking apples. At £4.00 this is equivalent to a happy meal but so much better. The service is good, the staff happy, there are plenty of tables and it's incredibly clean.A hidden gem in Norwich and I'd choose to go again even if just for lunch and not visit the castle itself. My little chap who chose the lunch box said lunch was his favourite bit of the visit - high praise indeed when there were knights in armour, dragons, drawings and dungeons to compete with!

Great real ale pub attached to Chalk Hill Brewery. Excellent selection of hone and guest beers. Truly something you would want to show a foreigner as amongst the best of an exemplary British pub. Darts board with good lighting regularly used. Outside seating on the road side much quieter since traffic restrictions. A lively place with a fair blend of regular and irregulars. Staff work hard to provide prompt and efficacious service. Food available which sounds good but can't say I have tried yet. Modern feel environment without falling to tacky, brash or gimmick. Thoroughly recommend and close to the station making it accessible to all.

Lunch with disabled parents. Friendly welcome by Maggie who showed us several table options and offered to take parents to and from the disabled toilet. Also severed by Maggie at the bar - busy lady as the restaurant was pretty full. Food a little slow arriving but the mixed grill and gammon we properly cooked not fling and ping when happens elsewhere. Mixed was excellent with good cuts of steak and gammon and quality sausages. Also FOC swap to jacket potato. Deserts also nice and meals not overpriced with their 25% off deals. Toilets could do with a revamp / some TLC. Otherwise very good find for lunch.
